The gameplay is an improvement IF the connection is good. It’s crazy how the network monitor tells me the connection is green and stable yet everything is delayed and my opponent gets a step ahead of me on everything then the next game it’s the same connection quality yet I’m the one who gets the advantage. The leaderboards in HUT are meaningless. I am 22-13 yet I am below people what are 1-1, 3-4, 2-1, etc. so what’s the point of grinding? Speaking of grinding. The rewards are non existent. What’s the incentive? Oh but the devs priority was to add brown female refs and low IQ female commentary. Finally, the sync glitch LOL the game keeps you in a cutscene while the face off is being taken so that’s also great… These devs are a joke. As per.

LOL Women in HUT...i guess some beta male developers will do anything to get laid. The game is still trash. The menus are slow and laggy, more so than last year. Oh wow glow sticks in the crowd... Paid 30$ and that was still too much. The gameplay is not better. Its not. Its not your internet, its not your tv, its not your console. It is 100% a trash product

If the game doesnt blue screen crash your console, it will simply force you to hard reset your console. Best case: sit in a frozen pregame lobby, just to get into a match that is two mins in, just to play against soy boy sweats who jump around corners with weak KD's and daddy abandonment issues and who get free kills from the terrible spawn system. No combat record and a handful of maps. Truly a joke. Wish i didnt buy digital, would sell at a loss.

LOL once again, incompetent developers and corrupt executives have ruined a great series. The devs can’t even make the menus run smoothly, what makes anyone think that the devs could possibly make the game run better ? Haha they can’t. They are soy boy beta cucks who have probably never played hockey. It shows in their product. Stop copy and pasting the previous years release. Only buy this game if it costs 10$ and only buy it second hand.

LOL as expected, this dev team has once again proven that they are completely incompetent. The ship continues to sink. They cannot meet deadlines clearly as the game has been released broken and they have barely, if at all, acknowledged several game breaking issues. The EA ice tilt momentum pity goal hocus pocus is back in HUT, the psychologically manipulative mode aimed towards maximizing revenue through micro transactions. I know how to counter the programming to win, but I have started to ask myself "what is the point of playing this rigged carnival game?" EASHL is completely broken. The drop in system does not work. If you do manage to find a full lobby there is a 50/50 chance a dressing room error will occur. No one asked for an outdoor rink in the mountains yet that is what EA decided to deliver rather than a matchmaking system that actually works. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME. Go on twitter, reddit and the EA NHL forum and you will see nothing but negative comments and people asking for refunds. What you will not see anywhere is an appropriate response from EA and the devs regarding these issues and their plan to fix it. The online connection issues are not solved either. Sure they added a new skating engine but the game play is only as good as the connection allows it to be. The menus are still sluggish and tedious to navigate. You have to hit 23494 button clicks to get anything done. THE MOST INCOMPETENT DEV TEAM IN THE HISTORY OF GAMING The only positive thing I can say is about online VS which is decently fun as long as the connection is in the green.

I give it a five. It looks amazing and I like the HQ concept. Its fun to play. Its boots on the ground COD. There are a lot of desperate people pulling drop shots and jumping around like fairies to avoid being shot but that is just the reality of COD right now. The servers are unable to handle these cool new ideas. It is constantly crashing, infinite loading screen and error codes all day. The error codes present a link to ****/wwii/status where you can check updates on the server status however this page is clearly not updated because no one on my friends list can access any online function of this game yet the website indicates that all systems are green... The worst part, is that they have censored WWII and made it politically correct. Next Gen video games are ruining the gaming experience because video game developers seem to be simply riding the hype of next gen gaming while putting minimal effort into the actual performance of the games. Micro transactions have turned gaming into a profit first industry, have removed the artistic integrity of games, and have completely disregarded the consumer. My advice is to buy this game used on Kijiji and prevent these developers from making **** money than they deserve

First of all, any Critic or User review above a 3 is a complete lie. It is. There are lots of fan boys who are in on the scam that i am sure have vested interested in keeping EA sports above water but it is a sinking ship. Do you like paying $80 plus for a broken game, full of bug and glitches? Then look no further. This game DEDUCTS goals. Its removes them, legit goals just disappear from the score **** will lose games because of it, and if you like winning games because of it you are probably part of the problem. It will add time to the clock. As if it was not frustrating enough to hold a lead working against the games momentum programming and trying to prevent a last minute free EA pity goal, well its gonna give your opponent more time as in OH LOOK AN EXTRA MINUTE ADDED TO THE CLOCK. Do you like when the game loops? As in takes you back to the same face off draw every 10 seconds until the game crashes? Then you will love this game. How about when your AI scores on your own net? Do you like when that happens? Buy this game then cause it happens more than you think it would. Do you like playing HUT? well guess what? The IP booters and cheaters aarrreee baaaaaaack and they have zero consequences facing them. Those top competitive season prizes go to them every time. It is impossible to call this game a competitive experience. It is no more competitive than those rigged carnival games. If you play EASHL you are going to see goals deducted every second game LOL they just POOF vanish LOL so fun! This game is either broken or intentionally designed to cheat. Take your pick its gonna screw you. EA is scamming people. You will have to fight tooth and tail to get your money back and if you buy it through the PSN store YOU WILL NOT GET A REFUND. I have a BBB case open against EA and Sony right now and with some luck and if enough people file against them it will at least damage their reputation. So, a broken game that cheats and zero customer support. They do not address these issues. These issues happen multiple times a day and I pretty much play this game to capture this footage. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME IT IS BROKEN LOL It does not matter how good the graphics are or how many mascots you can create, if the game deducts goals; loops until it crashes; adds time to the clock; allows cheaters to claim top prizes i.e incentive to play; and works against you, there is zero point in putting any time or effort in to a product that has zero effort put into it by the developers. This is the last time I give EA my money. If you want to play this game then i suggest buying it cheap and used. I do not have anything positive to say about this game because like I said, graphics are irrelevant when the game does not work. It is broken, buy it and you will find out. At the release of the game it felt like a new game however the above issues were still present, they then patched it multiple times with zero fixes to the problems they just made it more scrubs friendly. Hockey plays and sense are not rewarded, what is rewarded is skate in across the blue line and take any old shot or circle around down load and try for short side free EA pity goals. Try it and see ;)

DO NOT BUY THIS GAME. At least do not buy it from a retailer... find it used from a private seller (kijiji). EA does not deserve any of your hard earned money for this pathetic excuse for a game. It looks great, thats about the only positive thing I have to say about this game. I have spent a good amount of time playing it so I am able to give an accurate review of NHL 16. I only play two game modes anymore, GM mode and HUT. GM mode is absolutely hilarious. The game literally cheats. It changes the settings on you in favor of the AI, it creates invisible force fields around opposing players making them impossible to hit (even with hit assist cranked), it has this hilarious magnetic board play glitch that allows the AI to push you into the boards from 10 feet away and it even turns your player around, so you are facing the boards and then holds you there until that player is irrelevent, then when you are trying to switch to the player closest to the puck, it gives you control of a player that is not even in the play. The AI also parks its players in front of your own, impeding you players movement, making it impossible to race for the puck. Basically you either have to play with the AI too easy or an AI that impossible to enjoy playing against. Its a huge waste of time, but one thing I have enjoyed doing is getting a good amount of games under my belt to expose the **** that this game produces so I can make a valid argument against it. Its no fun. Literally will be fun for one or two games and then it flips a switch, changes the settings and you are getting completely destroyed, to the point where there is no point even fighting it, you might as well sit back and enjoy the ride; there are a lot of time where you just know the AI is going to score no matter what you do and no matter how dusty the goal is. HUT mode...heres a game mode that is never consistent in terms of connection speed, despite having great internet connection. This game mode favors those who **** and those who have credit card teams. Ice tilt is for sure a real thing, this is coming from someone who has played hundreds of games. I think I am pretty good at this game too, which is ironic because I absolutely hate this game, but somebody has to give an accurate critic of this piece. The games are predetermined. 100% without a doubt. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME. EA sports needs to go down and the only way this happens is if people stop buying their **** games, at least stop buying them from retailers. EA sports has to go. I could go into more detail but I do not want to waste anymore of my time than I already have. Play it and discover the horrendous BS for yourself. This is a broken game. Its a game that should have actually been NHL 15. It is absolutely worth a zero on this rating system, and I would consider any rating over a three to be an outlier and should not be counted. Anything positive other than the graphics that has been said about this game is a lie and most likely from a paid critic. Buy a pair of skates and learn how to skate and shoot a puck. Or buy Black ops 3, its pretty sweet. You will have a much better time doing that than playing this pointless game. This is a video game that actually cheats, its in the programming, it is literally programmed to be frustrating and something you will not enjoy. Sounds crazy right? Its a joke that I am sure the developers are still laughing about. Do not give them your money, they deserve to be spit on.
