Do not...I **** not waste any time or money on this so-called horror movie. It started off well enough and the final 15 minutes was like "Well, how do we end this?" Ok, boyfriend comes swinging down from the rafters, rope around his neck. Call the police? No, let's stay in the house, look for little sis and ultimately have the older daughter stab mom. Stupid stupid ending, and I felt ripped-off. How this travesty was allowed to be released is beyond comprehension. First half hour was engaging...last half hour was garbage.

If and I mean IF you are into some "What the F" scenes every so often (the flooding barracks scene) and if you're into some imaginative fight scenes that occur every so often, rent this pic. Otherwise, forget it. I do have to admit---some of the best-filmed action sequences I've ever seen---too bad the best scene took place in a church, of all places, and the blood ran freely to the tune of "FREEBIRD"???????? wow----kinda too much. ok, here I go again trashing a movie where, it seems, others rave on about it. From the previews I'd seen a month or so ago, I thought I was in for a chase-suspense-payback thriller. Instead, I got a bunch of scenes with Kidman still looking hot and her co-starlet (sorry to say, Mr Gere) "Repugnant Woman" looking constantly forlorn, troubled, miscast and dull --- the dialogue came quick and seemingly pointless at times and the end turned into a rather silly thing...dare I call it a twisted, surprise ending? --- bad boy in a cage...Julia, you repugnant psycho you!!! The flashbacks came and went so quickly, one had to either measure hot kidman's hair or pay attn to what's-his-name's salt and slightly peppered hair in order to, dare I say, follow along??? A mosque, a stable, a baseball game, a chopshop, a cage.....I couldn't wait for this to end---I guess I need to see the French version (with or without subtitles---it wouldn't matter).

addendum: Sixth Sense had (for unsuspecting moviegoers like me) the revelation that B Willis had been dead all this time. powerful, neck-hair-raising gotcha. The Visit's revelation comes when grandboy sends an online view of granpappy and granmammy to his mother and mommy hits us with "the revelation". This one fell flat. Coulda / Shoulda saved the revelation til the very end, with mommy holding her **** covered son in her arms, as the police point their guns at knife-wielding granparents who come - a - charging to kill kill kill. Instead, grandaughter films herself stabbing granma and granboy does his Joaquin Phoenix (signs) version of "just swing away". Thankfully, granboy loses those "failure demons" he experienced on his football team, along with sis, who can now look at herself in the mirror. Shoulda been a horror film, not a what it was.

The plot started off well enough. It was truly interesting to see how Ant Man came to be. AND Michael Douglas really did add a lot to this movie. The plot ultimately turned into the same old thing----good guy vs bad guy and let's turn it up on the computer graphics to WOW the audience. The graphics were excellent but the story morphed into the same ol' song and dance---I don't recommend this movie unless you're a parent with a 10 yr kid you want to have entertained.

I got my money's worth of laughs from this movie, but that's about it. The underwear scene with the huge, long bulge was priceless. However, this should have been a made-for-TV movie, late late nite TV, that is.

Acting grade: A+ Directing grade: A Plot/Story grade: A- Suspense grade: A. Of the last 5 or so movies I've actually paid $ to see, this one did NOT disappoint and I didn't want my $ back when I left the theater. Granted, there were a few things that could be considered contrived, but overall I really enjoyed this flick and would recommend it. Without giving too much away, let me just say that the person who "gets it in the end" isn't who'd you'd think. good, if not great, movie.

First one was novel and funny. This one was way way way bad and the laughable silliness in the first film was replaced with just plain stupid silliness in this mess of a sequel. Very disappointing --- no way this will be a trilogy, no way.

i first saw it 4 or so years ago...I found the movie kinda quirky, got distracted by other family members who were in the room, so I watched it again a few nites later 'cause a few things were kinda hard to pick up on the first time, especially if one doesn't or can't pay attn to exactly what's going on. saw it again 3 years ago, 2 years ago, 6 months ago and a few months ago. it's on cable again tonite. this is a movie that can be seen a few times and can be appreciated over and over. great storytelling, superb acting and cast, and more movies need to be made with this quality of directing.

All this movie had going for it was the computer graphics. Worthless, lacking and meaningless character development. Disappointing and silly at times...a scene stolen from Hitchcock's "the Birds", with pterodactyls this time. Then, there's the "bloodhound" scene, with macho man riding his motorcycle alongside his on-again-off again friends, the raptors on the hunt. Corny and a total formula flick---I wanted to like this movie, but couldn't bring myself to do so. wade

Blair Witch Project ripoff complete with the close-up of the female character's **** almost "looking up your nose" camera angle, the scared- crapless crying girl with the mucous-snot covered upper lip. Too many camera angles, jerky, tried to be trendy but it didn't work. I did let loose in my Depends once or twice but only because the director tried so hard.

Finally, a movie that allowed you, if not forced you, to use your imagination. I found the plot to be compelling (who is really who and whom can you trust), De Niro is spot-on, and the car chase scenes are the best ever found in this genre of film. This is neither an action thriller nor a "shoot-em-up, chase 'em" film. It is a film that runs its own course and holds its own place. What's in the case? Who cares? It's a film that gets more appreciated the second, third and fourth time you see it.

shoe rhymes with blue rhymes with who rhymes with knew (or new)---that about wraps up the songwriting abilities of the composers. The story is haphazard, the character development is non-existent. I couldn't wait for it to end. I loved Maleficent---I loathed this one.

waste of time waste of building a set as detailed as that one was. boring, stupid, went nowhere. Williams couldn't pull it off, but then who could have with such a lame script? It would have been better if choice clips of the old Popeyes could have been spliced together and then release it as a full-length feature. I think warner bros did that kind of thing with Bugs Bunny and the gang. check out shelly duvall doing harry nilsson's "he's large" composition on youtube. yecchhh

I didn't expect to be as entertained as I was with this movie. So many of today's special-effects-movies seem to rely more on the computer and less on plot and story-telling. This movie was well thought-out and well-paced. Angelina gave a great performance. She could very easily have overacted the part. I can picture some other (unnamed) actresses giving over-the-top performances in such a familiar-type role. Jolie pulled off both characters, both the evil and ultimately good one, in believable fashion. And you can call me old-fashioned---I really liked this **** much more than that recent stinker of a movie about some Hotel in Budapest.

If you are the kind who thinks nothing of spending $5.50 on a latte mocafretti frappe cappuccino, reads/studies Nietzsche and still thinks it's quality time spent when watching the Kardashian's , would gladly pay scalping-prices of $200/ticket for your seven yr old daughter or granddaughter to see Katy Perry, then run to see this movie. This was a listed as an R-rated comedy? Yeh, that is a laugh. bill murray...wasted owen Wilson...wasted. harvey keitel...ditto. adrien **** could you? I can't recall a more forgettable bunch of worthless dialogue and disjunctive goings-on. I darn near asked for money back. total waste of time.
