Perfectly cast, stunningly shot, and all around engaging. The 70’s setting feels lived in and the characters (both old and new) all feel fleshed out, with interesting dynamics between them and compelling histories I look forward to learning more about. My one minor criticism—and it’s very minor—is that the pacing felt a little rushed in the pilot. Given that I could say the same thing about 90% of pilots which then lead into well-paced shows, I’m not really worried about that. As a big fan of Supernatural who watched for all 15 years, The Winchesters is a welcome return to that universe. It’s clear that a lot of love and respect for the original series went into making the pilot. It really couldn’t be in better hands & I can’t wait to see what the rest of the season has in store.
