Interstellar7
Nov 11, 2014
Sit back, grab a coke and some popcorn, because you're not going anywhere for three hours. Is Interstellar a prefect film? no, and for three hours I wished it developed certain relationships out more, but it finds a way to keep you interest long enough to get you through to the big reveal that comes at you unexpectedly like a shot of fireball to the face, leaving you wanting a little bit more, but it's 2AM and the bar's cut you off.

Fury6
Oct 25, 2014
Fury was good, but it occasionally gets in it's own way trying to convey all the emotions of war to the point you're scratching your head asking if all was necessary, but if you can get past that, you'll find Fury to be a nice war film about brotherhood and the value of life.

John Wick8
Oct 24, 2014
The best pure action film this year. John Wick is a fun film that wants you along for the ride as Wick is out for revenge against the man that took what little he had to keep him sane in his new life.

Gone Girl8
Oct 15, 2014
Gone Girl is a wild thriller that takes you on a crazy journey of a marriage and the things people will do in the name of love. It's hard to imagine his film done by anyone other then David Fincher, just an absolute masterpiece, that grabs you in and takes you through an emotional journey from start to finish.

The Skeleton Twins8
Sep 12, 2014
Loved it. An amazing script supplemented with an equally talented cast makes the Skeleton Twins a must watch. Where this film really stands out is it's ability to tell a dark, but loving family tale that doesn't divert from it's core message of the bond of siblings, and as a twin myself, it really hit home.

A story of societies outcasts who band together to find sanity & purpose through music. It's not until you look past the surface of these characters that you see that each and everyone is a tremendously flawed human beings.

Noah6
Aug 26, 2014
Noah was an entertaining spin on the classic biblical tale that'd be able to capture an audience greater then the diehard religious faithful. Could have been a bit shorter.

300: Rise of an Empire3
Aug 26, 2014
300 was a beautiful experience that failed to be replicated in 300: Rise of an Empire. The story was uninspiring to the point I lost interest in the film shortly after pressing play.

The Grand Budapest Hotel8
Aug 26, 2014
Wes Anderson is an unstoppable monster in film, creating masterpiece after masterpiece that can do no wrong for their originality is a notch above the rest. The Grand Budapest Hotel is no except.

RoboCop6
Aug 26, 2014
RoboCop is a classic franchise that has survived the test of time that Hollywood believed it needed a reboot. Entertaining but with a PG-13 rating, it misses the edginess of the original. Easily forgettable.

Lone Survivor5
Aug 26, 2014
Lone Survivor is another war porn film of brotherhood and the sacrifices our soldiers make during war. Entertaining, but no man could have survived how many times they jumped off cliffs and lived.

Goodbye World4
Aug 23, 2014
Goodbye World crutches heavily on it's actors making the best of a bland apocalypse script that avoids any serious confrontation with the real world, leaving them to carry-on living their meaningless self-righteous lives in an isolated utopia.

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes7
Aug 22, 2014
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes puts great emphasis on the importance of the choices we make as individuals and how the selfish acts of the few, can be horrific for everyone.

Guardians of the Galaxy7
Aug 22, 2014
Guardians of the Galaxy was a fun escape from the overtly serious si-fi film that were realized earlier in the year. Filled with interesting characters that leave you wanting to learn more.
