Big Fish6

A most imaginative film, this movie shows some thought in plot construction. However, there is no sense of pacing or climax until the movie's end is 4 minutes away.

Thor: The Dark World5
Nov 13, 2014
This movie has far too many clichés, and unfortunately, ordered in the right way to form one of the most cliché plots. Sitting in the theater the first time, I constantly thought of how I somehow saw this movie before, but I couldn't remember what movie that was because it was so forgettable. As if cliché's weren't enough, there are some imitations of: The Lord of the Rings, Portal, Skyrim, The Legend of Zelda, previous Marvel movies, and any movie that features a stock villain.

Thor6
Nov 13, 2014
Yes, its essential purpose is to introduce Thor so people will know him in the Avengers, but it is a decent movie. It has the most plot of the Phase 1 Marvel films and surprisingly, the least amount of plot-holes. Loki is amazing in the sense that he is the least generic villain of the MCU.

Iron Man 36
Nov 13, 2014
Better than mediocrity in film form, aka Iron Man 2, this Iron Man continues with Iron Man's developed personality and develops it further. It introduces new plot elements, and actually has the promised action. Though Robert Downey Jr. himself was disappointed with the film, it is worth seeing, even though it is filled to the brim with plot-holes.

Iron Man 24
Nov 13, 2014
Whereas Iron Man featured much character development in his first movie, his personality is on reset for...MONEY!!!!$$$$$. This movie does its best to be the original Iron Man, but fails in the fact that its sole purpose is a cashgrab and a year-filler until the Avengers came out. I would still enjoy it if didn't follow overused plot devices and had less than 13 minutes of action (when it claims to be an action movie!).

Iron Man9
Nov 13, 2014
Marvel Cinematic Universe's best movie (unless you prefer Guardians of the Galaxy), Iron Man delivers a fresh take on the superhero movie franchise. What was novel was its focus on fun, yet its concept of implying a greater universe of interacting superheroes, which was magical before the Cinematic Universe's excessive use of the concept, thus bringing plot-holes.

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug4
Nov 13, 2014
For those who do not read the Tolkien books, this is a great movie and a must watch. It is an epic fantasy and filled with many mythological themes. However, to those who are familiar with the Opuses of Tolkien that even surpass the Ocarina of Time, this is excruciatingly painful to watch. Unfortunately, I fell in the second category, believing this to be The Desecration of Smaug.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey6
Nov 13, 2014
Though the first piece of Jackson's Hobbit Trilogy by no means lives up to the expectations set by the LOTR trilogy, it is worth seeing, as it often times lives up to the book's well-earned famed. A bit sloggish at times and cartoony in physics (the main characters go through the ridiculous unscathed) it is a decent film for those not expecting a masterpiece.

The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers9
Nov 13, 2014
A slight hair below Fellowship's quality, Two Towers is still a masterpiece. Although it does seem to slow down at times and differ from the source material in an occasional cliché way, it has the big plus of adding a theme of end and despair.

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring9
Nov 13, 2014
Fantastic in both presentation and immersion, this iteration of Tolkien's masterpiece is well done. Having both the greatest mentor of cinema and the greatest adventure in literature, this rendition will never be forgotten.

Batman & Robin1
Nov 13, 2014
I laughed during the whole movie--because it was so miserably hilarious at attempting to be serious. All though it was all fun and games laughing at this steaming turd on my TV, I would be angered and slighted if I paid for a movie ticket--but considering how bad even the previews were, I wouldn't be that stupid to see it in theaters.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier8
Nov 13, 2014
While its not as fresh as the original Iron Man, the Winter Soldier does offer a relief from Marvel's use of generic plots with stock villains. The characters are not merely just written from the script, but they are alive and have their own idealogies. The action scenes are chock full of plot holes, but they constitute some of the best action scenes in recent film history.

The Dark Knight10
Nov 13, 2014
Easily the best movie of not only the Nolan batman trilogy, but of his entire career, this is without a doubt the perfect superhero movie. Its hero truly is a hero, not one who does what he does for the glory, but for doing the right thing, regardless of how much those he serves hate him in return. The hero is not perfect, as he does fall, showing even further his immense humanity. The villain is not a stock character who is easily defeated, but a man with a troubled and unclear past, whose genius seems to always win. The battle for Gotham's soul is fought between a strict moral code and nihilism, the immovable object and the unstoppable force.

The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King10
Nov 13, 2014
This is the defining movie of Peter Jackson's career. Though it strayed quite far from the book at times, it worked the miracle of remaining true to the book's spirit and not striving for the random flamboyance that the Hobbit films today fall to.

Unstoppable7
Nov 13, 2014
Definitely a movie worth watching, especially for the casting and the cinematography, but the film does have some plot credibility issues. (You should also see it because it won't have a sequel, and thus won't be ruined over time.)
