Ted 2 is better than Ted 1. This movie uses more situational approaches to comedy and far less 1 liners than the prior. However it still relies far too heavily on sex and drug jokes which makes it low brow at best. I still laughed, don't get me wrong, but you feel kinda bad laughing because it's just "wrong" I guess. Comedies in the past just didn't have to rely on those types of jokes for humor. The saving grace was, believe it or not, the story which had some funny aspects and was much better than the first. The movie though was too long at 2 hrs run time.

I will let you know that the movie is in no way, shape, or form anywhere near as good as the first one in 1993. That is not because it was "new" back then. It just was simply a much better and more well put together film that still holds up today better than this one. I think my main issue centers on the fact that the movie just tries too hard to appeal to a super wide, mass audience with dumb cliche gimmicks (kiss scenes, feel good family scenes, out of place comedy lines, blatant rip offs of prior movies' scenes, etc etc). I can accept the raptors taking orders from Pratt (yeah it is super dumb, I agree, but whatever) but I simply cannot take the main girl wearing heels the entire movie because even in the context of the movie that is impossible -- she should sink in the mud at minimum --- they don't even have to show her change them, just change out of them, makes no sense. Honestly there really is too much else to complain about so I will leave it there. So why a 5? It's not a "bad" movie per se. The movie was a fun ride if you have the typical American movie goer's brain, but I just wish it was more like the first and actually cared more about the story and character development with good acting rather than computer effects and cheesy scenes which are too many to count here. So what you get is just another generic movie no different than marvel super hero movies meant solely to draw huge crowds based on the "Jurassic" legacy with the addition of Starlord (Pratt).

The movie is OK. I mean you know what you are getting when you walk in (lots of major disaster type situations with "the rock" saving the day). The movie is a roller coaster and does it well. Sure the situations the characters survive is completely impossible but honestly if it wasn't that way the movie wouldn't be good at all. The one guy that bothered me was the scientist. He really wasn't a good actor and the character himself seem too detached from the world around him to seem believable.

I feel overall the movie tried to focus too much on the action and scenery/exotic locations than the actual story and characters. Granted one of the main guys died prior to completion of the film so they were probably a little limited in that respect. Regardless I think F&F movies have essentially run its course. The first couple were good then when the rock came on it was good again but now I think they are beating a dead horse a little. Action is very far over the top. Just couldn't really get that into it. Story was kinda weak as well. Still like the actors and that is probably the only reason why I still go to these movies.

Definitely one of the better movies I've seen in a while. A good old-fashioned ganster shoot-em-up type movie with an interesting story, engaging characters, and great acting. The action was very realistic and believable to an extent. It was gritty and somewhat dark. Neeson is awesome as usual. Not much to complain about really. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Highly recommend if you like a "realistic" action movie with good story elements.

Honestly was not impressed. As a war movie it is too boring with little suspense or good action sequences. As a movie about a soldier's internal struggles it falls a little flat as that doesn't seem to be the main focus. And therein lies my main issue.... the movie tries to do too many things. It tries to be all "Go America!" and at the same time tell about the plight of soldiers going through PTSD, an all to real under-treated issue. You can't do both in a film, or at least Clint Eastwood can't. Ultimately I was unimpressed and a little bored. Yeah it gets sad at the end because we all know what happens and the guy, in real life, seemed like a genuinely good person but the movie really is not that entertaining.

I found the movie a little slow at times. The story was pretty cool once you got into it but I can see how your typical moviegoer who doesn't have the slightest understanding of this kind of stuff would get lost. I'm no computer expert but if you at least follow the basic news and know about malware you can easily understand it. I think my main issue was that the actors didn't seem too into the scenes (very laid back about the circumstances around them) and that the plot makes you think the stakes for finding the villian are very large until you get towards the end and figure it out. And finally it just felt a little drawn out. Honestly though it was still overall fun to watch. The story is different and mostly interesting so that alone I think is good enough reason to at least rent it.

Probably more of a 7.5. The movie focused almost soley on the battle sequence and while pretty good still was drawn out with basically no character development. One thing I will never understand is how such a small force can beat back one about 100x larger. The orcs must be the most incompetent group ever. But really I still like the movie but probably more just because of the universe and characters. Of the bunch in the 6 movie series it is the worst but still very enjoyable and better than most movies out there. Just don't get that sense of awe and wonderment that I did with some of the others.

Yet again another divisive movie based on the Bible. Just so you guys know I am Catholic and take faith seriously. And personally I found the movie to be very good. Yes, the director does take some artistic leeway in terms of how some scenes play out but honestly taken as a whole it has all the major parts and main points there. I do think the director wanted to walk a fine line to try and get his atheist/hollywood audience to buy it but there isn't much discussion about God being real within the context of the movie as (spoiler alert lol) the Red Sea parts. So it is definitely clear that God is there. Is it exactly like the old movies? No. It is a really good movie worth seeing and faithful to the Bible? Yes. I will say I was glad that at least Moses said "God" unlike Noah who only said "the Creator". If you are a hardcore literal interpretation of the Bible type person then you won't like it. But I think the vast majority of people including those of faith will.

I really liked the overall concept of the movie. I was essentially constantly on edge and wondering what the next steps would be. The movie came together really nicely in the end. Sure there are things that don't make scientific sense and if you think too hard (e.g. how can humans travel through a worm hole but not find a better way to grow food, or what is the background of the Earth's deterioration, etc) then the film becomes less of what it sets out to be. So in that regard some things could have been ironed out. But really you don't see this type of movie everyday. It is of very very high quality and I enjoyed it very much. It has a long run time but really doesn't feel long at all. Acting was amazing. Characters are very believable with great stories each and they are easy to get emotionally attached to. And again the underlying plot is extremely interesting and well done. Highly recommend.

The movie attempts to be dark and melodramatic in its detailing of John Wick's killing spree. Overall the story is pretty bland with bland acting and only average action at best. Characters are not very developed and it's difficult to be attached to anyone, even Mr. Wick. The movie is not even that violent. So essentially not too many redeeming qualities. I'm a turtles fan going to back to pre-school days and this movie did a great job of revitalizing some of those old memories. It's more similar to the cartoons than the old movies. Compared to the first movie it's not as good but better than others. On its own today almost as good as Guardians of the Galaxy. It has as decent story, great action sequences... oh an Megan Fox. In any case I really enjoyed it. I do think some of the jokes were a little mature for the major audience who will see the movie (e.g. mike comments that his shell feels small when he is around megan fox). There was a level of drama in the film that I was not expecting. The action was just the right amount and not overdone. I don't get all the negative reviews and hate. On one end people are mad because of this director's interpretation of the story in the Bible. On the other end people won't like it because it has to do with the Bible. And then you will have people not like for other stupid political reasons not even mentioned. I get it.... for some reason the film is polarizing. This movie is NOT the same as the cartoon movie you saw as a kid (yes people that is also one guy's interpretation). However it does have essentially everything that is in the Bible with some artistic flair which is cool with me. Sure they don't say "God" but everybody knows "The Creator" is "God" so whatever... that does kinda bug me but I won't hate on it too much. In any case I enjoyed the movie. It has good action, a pretty faithful telling of the story, interesting take on the pre-flood world, fantastic acting etc. I think you guys need to see the movie for what it is and not make it more than it sets out to be. My issue is that there is so much material to draw from I am not sure why they are choosing to highlight lesser known stories and mutants. And on that front there really weren't any mutants besides wolverine. In the previous films they made the mistake on trying to get in too many mutants. I want to start by saying that overall I enjoyed the movie and thought it was pretty decent. Having said that however I also feel there was just a ton of lost potential. First, there are some pacing problems. Several scenes are overdone (e.g. when they sneak past a zombie) and some are rushed (e.g. the ending). Secondly, the first half of the film was extremely good especially as things in the world were going to hell. But it seemed to fall apart a little when Pitt started just flying all over the world. Finally, I think the movie suffers from a lack of identity because it wasn't really a thriller or horror and it seemed to try to do a little of both to no real success. But you know the real kicker is the plot... I mean jeeeez the plot was just dumb. And my expectations for 'Fast and Furious' movies isn't high. I think what makes Gatsby a great film is that it is different. It's not your typical summer action movie. It's not your typical romantic love story. 'Gatsby' goes much deeper and further than the vast majority movies today tend to go. The acting and story really draw you in while the cinematic shots never cease to impress. I didn't like that direction. It was the best of the iron man movies and better than the avengers but definitely not at the level of batman. Sometimes it seems Marvel just puts out movies that are merely "good" but not "great" just to keep milking that cash cow. I do hope the next few start to have a more serious tone.

Honestly the movie has a strange dichotomy with the comedic effect directed at real people and events involved with a brutal murder. That being said the movie was well done with superb acting and was pretty dang funny in the beginning. It became more "serious" in the second half but it was as if the director didn't realize that actual people were killed and tried to make it funny regardless. The result is a movie that felt wrong in some ways. In my opinion they should have tried to strike a more serious tone when the events started to turn for the worse or change the story slightly to not base it completely on real events... Alas I have no real say and just pay $11.50 to see it. I still recommend it though as it was a decent ride overall.
