A refreshing summer cocktail of action-movie staples, The Wolverine combines the bracingly adult flavor of everyone’s favorite mutant antihero — tortured, boozy X-Man Logan, a.k.a. Wolverine — with the fizzy effervescence of several mixers from the cabinet of Japanese genre cinema: noirish yakuza crime drama, samurai derring-do and ninja acrobatics.

Mangold front-loads the action, but near the end there’s a first-rate fight atop a bullet train between Wolverine/Logan and some especially pesky ninjas. It puts the train fights in the recent “The Lone Ranger” to shame.

Idk wtf happens with this game but it’s a lot of fun. One of the best Jean/Wolverine stories of any medium. Just read through from Claremont through Krakoa to the ongoing Uncanny X-men so I’ve seen most of it lol. Gameplay is fire and once you get late game it feels so good, especially walking the line and knowing how to keep boosting Logan’s healing, feels so good to pull off a crazy attack cause you set up a heal right out of a risky attack. I do hope it gets a sequel, I think they could really build on this and make something even better

I hate every single second of X-Men Origins: Wolverine movie, and when i decided to go on with this i have a very low expectation, and after i watch it, i ended up liking every single second of it, The Wolverine is what is supposed to be the real Wolverine movie, i loved all the cast performances and characters, i loved all the action, i loved the look, the location, everything was just great, they got everything in here and it's perfectly well made, it's not messy, it's not boring, it's not stupid, it's badass, it's exciting, the story was great, it's perfect, The Wolverine is the best to ever do it so far, it's the best in the franchise so far that i've seen, the second being X2, The Wolverine is a very very pleasant surprise.

Jackman spends enough time compellingly playing stranger in a strange land that you’ll put up with a few unwanted doses of the old familiar.

This pissed-off man of Adamantium claws is stalking new ground (Japan), and his fight with yakuza on top of Tokyo's speeding bullet train is a wowser.

The filmmakers work at creating a new take on an old protagonist and then don’t really have much new to do with him once they’ve achieved that. It’s a good effort. Just not an entirely successful one.

This is Jackman’s show entirely, and he’s as forceful and charismatic as ever as the walking, talking hurt that is Wolverine. If only he had something more interesting to do here.

The Wolverine reveals itself to be a film in desperate need of a point, in dire need of consequences and in a wandering search of any semblance of emotional weight.

The Wolverine: Just proves that a sequel improves on the original. This is a different type of movie then the original because Logan has always had PTSD with what he did in the first 3 X-Man movies like killing Jean. Hugh Jackman like always brings his all especially in this movie because oh my god he is ripped. If the poster wasn’t enough my favorite part is when he fighting claws to a samurai sword when he gets the sword in his chest all the veins and stuff god. This great movie is nothing with out James Mangold because this is the most violent Wolverine we ever saw at that point there was little bits of blood in his claws and stuff that was the most violent we ever saw. Overall the best Wolverine movie up to that point and it’s a great watch.

A Disorienting and Overly Japanese Aesthetic That Leaves the Narrative Feeling Bland.140208 (3.0)The heavy Japanese aesthetic felt far too pronounced throughout the film. Because the overarching narrative was difficult to grasp clearly, the storytelling ultimately felt rather bland and diluted. A crowded lineup of characters—including Yukio, Mariko, Viper, Silver Samurai, and various ninjas—only added to the chaotic clutter rather than enriching the plot. Directed by James Mangold and starring Hugh Jackman, the 2013 superhero action film "The Wolverine" follows Logan as he travels to Japan to visit an old acquaintance from World War II, only to find himself stripped of his mutant healing factor and entangled in a deadly web of yakuza conspiracies, corporate greed, and lethal mutants, struggling to ground its character study amid an overwhelming flurry of localized tropes.

The Wolverine is a mixed bag. It's technical aspects are great, but the story is flawed for me at least. Wolverine is my favourite X-Men character probably, so it always brings me joy to see him on screen. I like that we saw more of what he was doing before the X-Men and I also liked his arc with the dreams that he had. Other than these things, I think the story isn't that good, it really sticks to the basics. Ichiro Yashida randomly steps out of character, his actions don't really make sense to me. They could have made sense, but we didn't see anything of him between 1945 and the present. The other characters aren't bad, but they're all just stereotypical. What I like about this movie is the technical achievements. I love James Mangold and his style. The camera movements are mostly good, while the lighting is just amazing. The visual effects are mostly CGI, but well-done. The sound design is also wonderful. The cast is good, with a great performance by Hugh Jackman. The Wolverine could've been an incredible film with better characters. I also think this should've come out before X-Men: First Class and they should've put the post credit scene in that film.

Bir yerde Japonya'ya bağlanacağını tahmin etmiştim. Ortalama ve altı bir yapım bence.

the movie was not good. the story doesnt make any sense - factions that should be friends fight each other without any real explanation? The movie doesnt have any comic relief. It feels like its dark and gritty just for the sake of it. The problem with that is that "Dark and gritty" only works when you feel identification with the characters and there is a well-written dramatic story. There are no likeable characters and the fighting scenes are not special either. The movie would have worked way better if they would have cut down on characters and fake drama and upped the comic relief and fun. There would have been so much opportunities for that in Japan!
