Edge of Tomorrow

Edge of Tomorrow is the ultimate metaphor about Tom Cruise’s career. You can’t kill this guy. He’ll just keep coming. And he remains arguably the biggest movie star in the world for a reason. He brings it.

An entertaining, effects-driven black comedy, with shades of "Starship Troopers" in its depiction of warfare as a futuristic turkey shoot, the movie is distinguished more by how fluidly it handles its high-concept premise than where it takes it.

A playful and frantic science-fiction twister which mimics the best (Aliens, The Matrix, Groundhog Day) while offering something fresh and — most importantly — thrilling.

I'm not sure Edge of Tomorrow holds much repeat viewing potential among teenage movie consumers, since the movie's a self-repeating entity to begin with. But once is fun.

Edge Of Tomorrow’s finale can’t live up to what’s come before, though that’s mostly because what comes before is so rich and unusual, particularly in the middle of a summer blockbuster season that doesn’t always value richness or novelty.

Thank heavens, then, for the time-loop gimmick, which sustains a full hour of screen time with enough variations on its gambit to hook you in.

This dash of cinematic junk food boasts a crisp, chocolatey effects extravaganza for an outer shell and a wash of sticky, creamy sci-fi curiosity at its core. The concept is tricky but fascinating, a bit stretched but not so far that it completely **** the illusion. It's basically Groundhog Day meets Independence Day, with Tom Cruise wearing a great big suit of mechanized armor as its centerpiece. Go into battle, kill some aliens, meet a grisly demise, re-spawn at the checkpoint and try it all over again; that's the plot's quirky little dance. Edge of Tomorrow is best when Cruise is relegated to mere rapid-fire cannon fodder, trying like hell to make the most of his chances and failing miserably each time. The ride gets markedly less entertaining, and more humdrum, as it slides into sentimentality and finality. The ending is a real whiff, too, bad enough to color my memory of the better bits I'd enjoyed earlier. It smacks of a last-minute rewrite, something that's utterly at-odds with the dashes of smart, dark material that had spiced things earlier in the ride. It wants to be flashy and ballsy, but instead it's been tamed and neutered.

Edge of Tomorrow is a fantastic action movie based on the "Groundhog Day" concept. A good cast here contrasts with the mediocre plot, which basically uses the concept of repeating the same day over and over again. It was possible to make an excellent plot from this story, but in place of this the viewer gets the same shots most of the film. The same Source Code implements it much better. What else can you say about Edge of Tomorrow? If you put aside the plot, it's a good fantastic action movie, there are beautiful large-scale action scenes, the main thing is not to include logic when watching them. If you consider Edge of Tomorrow as a whole as a movie, it's not bad. It will go for a one-time viewing, you'll forget the next day. But in Edge of Tomorrow you can really feel the undiscovered potential. It's like they wanted to make a sequel and put all the best for it. But there's no sequel.

after reading the manga the movie lacks a lot of stuff and is completely **** typical hollywood ruining stuff just like dragonball evolution this was also terrible

Groundhog Day, Source Code, Pacific Rim put together brings Edge of Tomorrow like already one of comment said, I really can't see how is possible that somebody which see it self like regular movie critics writer (i think on many news papers and magazine) can give to this movie any higher score than 3+ and 1 point more for good production, after his fourth "reset" movie becoming on first place boring, whit various ATTEMPTS in several different directions for developing story, but neither of them was developed in some kind of main note , so all is one big mix, as is said before of several movies, whit End which is so chip and stupid , that was simply **** example Movie LIVING IN OBLIVION maybe is not master piece but he have one main impulse trough which viewers is guided from beginning to the end.
