A game with issues around pacing and repetition, but the story is fantastic and very moving. Graphics are vivid and solid 60fps on a PS5, music deserves a special mention. I felt emotionally exhausted at the end, it really does hit you further in.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 45

What's there is very good, but this feels impossible to recommend as a full price game due to the lack of everything except bare essentials. The menus are confusing, there's not much in the way of instructions for modes and so on - purely aimed at hardcore existing players who will be able to muddle through it. No story mode is a huge let down as it's a good way to learn the basics of control and weapons. Feels like half a product. As such, I'm giving it half a score.

Hatsune Miku: Project Diva Future Tone - Colorful Tone10
Jan 13, 2017
Easy 10/10 game, if you have any interest in these at all it's perfect. Fantastic visuals among the best on the PS4, a huge pile of tunes, and arcade type controls. It's the best game in the series, pure and simple.

BioShock: The Collection0

I'm giving this 0/10, because they've chosen to block streaming of the entire collection and not even elected to explain why. Don't support this kind of rubbish from publishers.

Kung Fury: Street Rage8
Aug 14, 2015
It's a version of one finger death punch, with Kung Fury graphics and music, presented as if it's on an old worn out arcade machine. It's also so cheap it's nearly free. What's not to like?

Unmechanical: Extended Edition9
Feb 20, 2015
A real gem of a title, Unmechanical has great 60fps graphics, a great soundtrack, a unique atmosphere and a good collection of puzzles to work your way through. Amazed there are no other user reviews of this yet, you're missing out.

Dead or Alive 5 Last Round9

Exactly what you'd expect it to be - an update of the already very polished DOA5 engine. While other fighting games can be a huge mountain for novices to climb, DOA5 remains approachable from the moment you pick up the pad.

Styx: Master of Shadows9
Jan 2, 2015
Just upped my rating from an 8 to a 9 having just completed the game. In a world where everything is released broken, where everything begs you for more money or patronisingly holds your hand through the whole game, this is a breath of fresh air. Styx is a straight to basics stealth platformer, it gives you the tools, gives you some huge levels and lets you get to work. The Atrium is a brilliant setting, the graphical design is solid, the audio excellent. I won't say too much about the story but it was better than most - being a lower priced title most of it is told via static handrawn cut scenes. If you liked the original Tenchu games, you really can't go wrong with this one. Only deducted a point for the technical side of things - sometimes there's texture pop-in which results in incorrect colours for a frame on a fast camera pan, and the loading between deaths (you will die a lot) is very slow. Other than that I didn't have any problems. Note that they do start recycling levels about half way through but the game is very long. Luckily the non linear nature of the levels stops this being a huge issue.

Rock Boshers DX: Director's Cut8

I'm old enough to have owned a ZX Spectrum back in the day, and they absolutely nailed the look and feel of games on the system. The sound is a bit more advanced than a Spectrum could manage, but it's nice at what it does. Not only are there plenty of levels to work through, some of them are a decent challenge and there are 4 minigames to play too. Excellent work!

Tetris Ultimate1
Dec 24, 2014
How do you make a broken Tetris game? Frame rate issues (really serious ones), online problems, even gap spacing problems. I programmed Tetris once for the Amiga with a 7mhz processor and it worked better than this. The Gameboy worked better than this. There are watches that can play Tetris better than this. **** pitiful.

Car costs and money earning in this game are designed to push you towards grossly expensive currency micro-transactions. Hard to recommend a full price game trying that approach. Typical Ubisoft.

Grand Theft Auto V7

While overall a good release of an existing modern classic, it needed more optimisation. The frame drops while driving fast cars in the city are almost constant on the PS4, and since that's one of the main activities in the game more people should really have called them out on it.

Really well polished pool game with a relaxing atmosphere. Best played with friends because the AI players get too difficult too quickly. One miss and you may aswell restart the game even half way through amateur.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare9

Enjoyed the story mode in this much more than Ghosts, and the gunplay is closer to the standard of Black Ops 2 which was a real high point for the series. If you don't like the jumping in multiplayer there is a Classic playlist which disables exoskeletons.

Loved this game, just got the final trophy from it. The cold war cartoon aesthetic is really well done along with the audio. Dropping a point off because the final level can sometime suffer from a bug that causes enemies to fall through the floor. Otherwise very polished.

Rubbish performance from this title, not only is the picture somewhat muddy compared to the clear Black Flag, but the frame rate is terrible, actually bordering on unplayable.

Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments8

Another good slice of storytelling and investigation - only real downsides are a strangely sluggish third person mode (1st person is much better), and they could do with optimising the graphics and load times a bit.
