Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens9
Dec 18, 2017
Wow, what an amazing way to reintroduce us into the world of Star Wars. I think the movie will hold up and bring a sense of nostalgia years to come (which will be like a nostalgia inception type deal) because of the stellar performance from most of the cast (Carrie Fisher's performance was a little stiff being the exception) and the visuals being true to the original three Star Wars films. I docked it a point because I felt like there were too many beats taken from 'A New Hope' but it didn't detract from my enjoying the film. With so many questions left on the table I can't wait to see the next entry in the saga.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story8

The Wars in Star Wars is here. Good gosh this was a gritty and spectacular third act. With all the behind the scenes production issues that were rumored and possible extensive reshoots, this movie captures the feel and look of the original Star Wars. The CGI characters weren't a distraction to me and I thought it was so cool seeing the actors from the original back on screen. It was a little slow a points and the 'Hope' thing being shoved down your throat was annoying at times. Overall this is an amazing entry to Star Wars and fits beautifully among the new Star Wars films.

The acting and cinematography were so great in this movie. I was hoping for it to be a little bit more creepy and scary, only because that's what I perceived we were going to get from the trailers. I didn't read the novella from Steven King but for me, it lands in the good category of Steven King adaptations. If you like some creepiness sprinkled in it and great acting then you should check it out.

Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi9

I enjoyed the heck out of this movie. I docked it a point for a few plot holes but overall I enjoyed the story, each characters progression throughout the film and the separate journeys that they were set on, as well as the interactions between the two leads. I thought Luke was amazing (wipes shoulder off) and MH performance was his best. I enjoyed the jokes and didn't think they felt out of place because EVERY Star Wars movie has jokes in it (Walking Carpet, I love you...I know, Nerf Herder, JarJar (hehe), etc.). Overall, I'm excited for the next Star Wars film (Solo) and the next film in the main Saga. Thanks Rian!
