Forza Motorsport7
Oct 25, 2023
7/10 Cons
-Lots of QoL issues not transferred over from the past games
-Bugs in the menu and Crashes during races (including online races)
-Shorter campaign than usual compared to previous Forza's. (Seems like they'll add more under 'featured')
-Leveling system makes the game grindy in order to have an arsenal of cars for online but is fine for story mode
There's an exploit to level up cars and basically has to be used in order to have the upgrades you want to be at the tune you need for most online races
-Penalty system isn't great but I expected that having played codemaster F1 games where penalties are a crucial part of racing Pros
-Graphics are great (Not sure how anybody complains about this, get a grip!)
-Driving physics are great
-Online multiplayer having practice, qualifying and race session style is a nice change.
-The penalty system seems to be more strict online to prevent hooligan drivers. Most of the time it works but expect some miscalls

I think 5/10 is actually being generous as this game plays like a game from 2012. 13 main line AC games in 16 years and it's the same over and over again. I don't get how people are giving this anything higher than a 6 even if you like the game. It's objectively poor in many ways. The AI of NPC's in the open areas are very elementary. Enemy AI isn't much better. Sometimes they don't care about dead bodies they find on the ground. Meanwhile, the game gives you the ability to pick up and hide bodies. The overall combat is a 1/10. Your weapon passes through enemies like they're made of butter and they don't even react to your attacks. The stealth is very basic and not believable as you're sneaking around in the middle of the day. Enemies are apparently blind beyond 20 feet in front of their face. Parkour is the same as always, hold forward and 'A' at the same time. Rinse and repeat climbing towers.
Every weapon has the same move set and only increases damage. The story might be the only thing that is decent but even that is lack luster. Because I'm on PC with good hardware, the visuals are good but the character models aren't. Only the environments look nice aesthetically. This game feels like it's meant for casual gamers that don't actually understand game mechanics and need the game designed to hold their hand through everything. The coolest part of the gameplay is the automatic tagging of enemies and pressing a button to execute. A mechanic introduced in a 2010 Ghost recon game. Very typical Ubisoft title with an engine so old you can feel it with every second of gameplay.

Some of the complaints from "Souls veterans" can be easily debunked. The graphics are maybe a 7/10 at best but the way FromSoft displays their art style that's been developed over the years, in this colossal world, really shines brightly. I found myself stopping at times looking around at the gorgeous view especially on top of large cliffs or mountains. The time of day changes can create different shots as well. The open world in Elden Ring is done better than most open world games today. That's what's considered "Revolutionary". They kept the souls-like feel despite going open-world which is more than what most game devs are able to do with their games when going in that direction. The way they reuse assets in this game is done properly. The world isn't littered with garbage and utterly useless items making the game feel repetitive (*cough cough Ubisoft games). Some of the bosses you fight early in the game become tough regular enemies later in the game making you as the player feel stronger and accomplished with the knowledge of how to defeat such enemies. The catacombs/dungeons are structured in a way that feel the same but each have their own set of enemies, traps, secrets, rewards and items. There's a reason to go into a specific dungeon because you may want that talisman, weapon, or ash. The recycling of assets in Elden Ring is done in a way that other developers should look at as an example of how to make a game feel fresh for 100 hours. The only other game that has done this well that I've played is Batman Arkham Knight I wouldn't call the combat boring in any way even if you've been playing Souls games from the beginning. I mean, maybe you're just bored of it? I'm not a souls veteran by any means but I have played Souls 1, Sekiro and now this game. There is a clear difference in scale and choices in Elden Ring. The amount of different builds you can design lets the player choose from literally 50+ options of how to play the game. You can look up builds on youtube as there are many literally just making builds for this game. I think this was FromSoft's way of adding more variety but it may have also added an "easy mode" as there are some builds/weapons that are considered by the community OP and an easy way of running through Elden Ring. (ie. Moonveil, Magic, etc) Overall, I highly recommend this game to any gamer. It is still difficult compared to your average RPG but will be worth the time and effort if you stick through it.

Forza Motorsport 610

Easily the best Forza game to date. I love how they merged all the fun aspects of the Horizon series over to Motorsport. Makes the game more fun for both simulation and arcade racers. Once again Turn 10 Studios shows why they're the best at making racing games. This game has the best graphics for any game on any console right now. If you have an Xbox one and you like cars, this game is a must by. 10/10

Forza Horizon 210

Amazing visuals, gameplay, racing dynamics, graphics, music. This game gets a 10 with its astonishing gameplay features and style. It allows any user to come and race they way they want to. If you like arcade style, keep those assists on and you're golden. If you more into realistic racers, give yourself a challenge and turn all assists off and you'll see how this game isn't as "arcady" as people on the interent rant about. The music is just captivating! Forza Horizon 2 brings a complete package to fun in a racing game. If you're a Forza Horizon lover, racer, or even if you like the Forza franchise, you won't be disappointed with this game!

I have to say initially I was expecting this game to have a lot more to it. The online was a little disappointing especially with the inability to hack your friends. (At least at launch). But to be honest, this game is quite a bit of fun. It's mainly a single player experience but the experience is top notch. Most Ubisoft games have great balance between story, gameplay, graphics and sound. Pretty much everything you want in a game. Watch Dogs delivers exactly this. With the combination of gadgets to your disposal and large arsenal of weapons and disguises, sometimes I feel like the Batman! Where Clara is my Oracle. The characters are creatively designed and funny and the acting is great! Here is my review: Graphics: 7/10 Story: 8.5/10 Sound: 8.5/10 Fun Factor: 9/10 Driving: 7.5/10 Overall: 8/10

Dead Rising 39
Mar 3, 2014
How could you say the graphics are bad? They're definitely not bad. And if this game was 60fps it would look immeasurably cheesy. People don't understand why developers choose 30fps over 60fps. It's not always for performance. If you've never played a Dead Rising game before and you play DR3 for 1-5 hours and decide to right a negative review about it, your opinion is practically invalid. It would be like me complaining Call of Duty: Ghosts is a horrible twitchy fast paced shooter when that's what Call of Duty is. They're not going to change the style if its a successful franchise. I love the fact they gave players more time to mess around killing zombies, building weapons and vehicles, exploring the world for blueprints and survivors, etc. Capcom designed this game to be an arcady, japanese style zombie killing game. The shooting isn't supposed to be realistic. You can combine a cardboard box with a foam finger to create a poking gun to kill zombies with. (is that not hilarious?) So the graphics are literally 8th or 9th on their list for importance. If you played DR2, Dead rising 3 has amazing graphics comparably. The graphics are probably the only reason for the fps drops and fade in textures from distances. The controls are smoother than before and there are a ton of player upgrades and abilities. I love it All in all, if you like the Dead Rising franchise, this game takes Dead Rising to a new level. 8.5/10 for me

Max: The Curse of Brotherhood9
Mar 3, 2014
This is an absolute outrage on how this game is getting such low reviews. Seems like its just a bunch of PS4 fanboys coming on here giving negative reviews to Xbox games. Max: The Curse of Brotherhood is up there with Resogun and Flower for quality and gameplay for an arcade game on Xbox One. It's only $15 and is a great pick up for a large variety of audiences. I did not find the controls frustrating in any way like others are stating. Trial and Error? Maybe if that's how you choose to play it. This is puzzle game that has basic puzzles to start and as you progress they get slightly difficult. The game is meant to be fun and enjoyable. The 1080p 60fps gameplay and colorful visuals make it enjoyable to watch. The most difficult part of this game is the timed puzzles where you are running away from enemies. Very rarely there are some jumps/sections that might not be set up right and you fall to your death repeatedly until you pass that section. This may be the only issue with this game. It's not that glitchy at all. If you enjoy games play Rayman: Legends, Limbo, and mini arcade games. This is one of the best pick ups on Xbox one right now.

Battlefield 410

My actual score is 9/10 but I'm placing a 10 to counter the trolls voting negative because the game is "unfinished". (neilsmif1980 and Cylian1) You can't score the game negatively because it has connectivity problems regarding the servers. Yes, EA is at fault for forcing DICE to release the game early even though they were not ready, but when reviewing a game, you have to look at the finished product. Now that DICE has implemented some fixes for stability, performance and various bugs and glitches, we can look at core assets of the game to judge for review. I personally think this is the best game on next-gen consoles right now. If you like realistic shooters and a new and innovative experience with intense graphics, sound and gameplay, Battlefield 4 has it all!! The game seems a little bit overwhelming at first with all the content, the size of the maps combined with the amount of players, and all the vehicles. It really feels like you're in all out war!!! Go play one round of Conquest and regardless of how many times you die, if you don't think Battlefield 4 is an amazing experience, you're out of your mind. When it comes to competitive game play, this game both doesn't and does have it. Conquest can't really be played competitively because of its size. The squads can't communicate with each other and a lot of players barely have their mics in anyways. Deathmatch and smaller game types like Domination are better for competitive game play. I don't wanna break the game down too much. I just wanted to get my opinion out there. 9/10 for me
