Call of Duty: Black Ops

I can say for sure that so far the COD has one of the most intriguing stories in the whole franchise, showing something that COD had never done in storytelling at that pint and even today there is no other game in the franchise that has something like this (it's safe to say that the story has a little inspiration from films like Fight Club... or at least that what i think). As for the gameplay... it has nothing really new in comparison to previous installments on the series, it is still a first person shooter in which you only shoot the same enemy in every mission, such like World at War, COD Black Ops is a violent and dark game, which is the only accurate depiction of war that this games had. Moving to the MP portion of the game (which is the game mode that most of the players only play) It's... ok... i guess. the player base on the PC version is not that big, and somehow i can say i didn't had problems finding a match. Level design on the MP reflects most of the main locations from the campaign, the DLC maps are 50/50, some of them had a really boring design and structure, the maps i did love are the cuban maps, they are colorful and the layout gives a lot of alternatives to attack the enemy team, rather than go into a straight line like NukeTown which by the way it is the worst map ever in COD history. This game's MP portion rather that evolve it's class customization it feels like it devolve, I can say it has some cool weapons but attachments are pretty lame and most of this attachments makes to improvement on your weapon's accuracy or damage, actually... the only attachments you can add are just iron sights and that's pretty much it. Perks are not that great and the only ones i use are steady aim and scavenger, and even with the steady aim perk you will still have a massive recoil impact... sniper classes are a joke here, they are ZERO accurate!!! The last mode is zombies, the fan favorite zombies... I'm not a fan of that mode... you just have to survive waves of zombies while collecting point to move to another area and each waves this zombies will handle more damage. There are a couple of maps i like because of their concept and liitle story, the one featuring Kennedy, Nixon and Castro was hilarious and the one that has George A. Romero as a boss fight. And that's it, that's all i have to say regarding Black Ops, overall the story and campaign were good and action packed, but the MP was missing something, like i said, it felt incomplete, the class customization needed more perks and attachments in order to feel as good as MW2.

Gears of War: Ultimate Edition

This is the first time i played Gears of War, I never had the chance before because i've never owned an XBOX 360. So far i can say that Gears is a pretty good game and i hope that the rest of the games got ported to PC soon... anyway, that game has some positive stuff and some not that great. Visually the game looks gorgeous, it is an enhancement of the original 360 version, i've seen some screenshots and gameplay from the orginal version and the difference is huge!!!! really huge... what surprised me the most is that it was build using the Unreal 3 Engine the same from the original. The cutscenes are well made and i rally enjoyed watching them. The overall gameplay from combat to cover system is responsive and fluent without delays or controls that sometimes refuse to work. Now what the game got really wrong and makes it far from being a perfect enhanced edition it's the poor AI support and terrible performance. The poor AI is annoying, Friendly AI will constantly refuse to take orders and most of the time they will stare at a wall without moving, you will be moving through the level and when you turn your back they will not be there, unless you reach a checkpoint that will make them respawn near you, this happens more ofter in open area levels, in close levels like interiors or alleys they will be more useful but they will obviously still carry some defects. Now the performance... even if you have a best of a machine the game will struggle to maintain a solid fps , even reaching 60 fps can be hard, there are a couple of thing that you can make to encrease a bit the frames like, playing with the vertical sync disable and disbale shadows, but turning the shadows off will affect the game's presentation and even still the game will have some frame drops here and there. The overall game experience is good but the game needs more time in the oven.

DOOM Eternal

DOOM Eternal is a great sequel to 20016's DOOM and one of the best games i have played so far!!! I constantly compare DOOM eternal to films like Evil Dead 2 and Hostel part 2 in the way that they are all sequels but at the same time acts like soft reboots by changing some elements like the tone or genre. This time around DOOM Eternal focus more into telling a story that for being honest it is actually descent and the game manage to balance both gameplay and story, something that DOOM 3 couldn't properly manage. As the previous game, DOOM eternal features the same frenetic fast paced action and combat and it adds a couple of new features like dash, a flame thrower and a grenade that can be switched to an ice grenade. Glorious kills makes a comeback as well the chainsaw. The level design was made with the intention to add multiple ways to engage the enemy and with the goal to encourage the player to explore every corner in search of ester eggs and hidden secrets like toys, tracks from the soundtrack and cheat codes and other features that can help you upgrading your suit for better abilities. The game features a new mechanic which is the "permadeath" it is obvious that if you die you'll be punished to start from the beginning, that's why exploring the levels is crucial to find extra lifes that will keep you going trough the game cuz you'll going to need them... the game gets harder and harder the more you progress. Now let's move to the negative point of the game which for me it's only one... platforming sections!!! those are unnecessary and annoying, why did ID Software add this? In my whole time playing DOOM i only encounter one crash that got easily fixed by only lowering one specific setting... something that has the word "pool" on it. Moving to the performance, i've heard that is a really demanding game overall, sadly i cannot say that as i didn't test it on other rigs. For me the game ran pretty well with a solid framerate using the ultra nightmare settings on a GTX 1080 Ti, and i got amazed that my pc ran pretty cold, considering that i have a pretty mediocre cooling system, maybe the game is well optimized? it can be. The visuals does not disappoint, the game has some really cool lighting and particle effects, animations are fluent and the detail on the enemy wounded flesh looks nasty and bloody, really impressive what the new Id Tech 7 can achieve now. Let's see what the future holds for DOOM.

DOOM 2016 is the formal return of the classic DOOM, frenetic fast paced action with the classic gameplay elements from the 90s, with some new additions. DOOM 3 make something different back in 2004, instead of the action gameplay it took the survival horror roots with slow shooting and it focus more on the storytelling aspect than the overall gameplay, still it wasn't a bad game... i really like it a lot. But with this entry ID Software decidde to dive into the "nostalgia" trend and this is how we got DOOM 2016. The game has a story, but is not extremely detailed and the game does not put too much attention to it and well the story follows the premise of the original game, a portal that bring hell to a mars space station and the doom slayer most stop it. Even still with the little narrative the game has it manage to tell a full story. Enemy design was made to asimilate the original designs from the original game, of course some enemies were cut from the game. The level design is a mix of old and new, so it doesnt look outdated on it's design and this is were some games that tried to cash in on the "nostalgic" trend failed, but DOOM manage to make it look fresh. Visually it's amazing with cool ilumination, post processing effects that add depth and particle systems really makes it look like a beast of the game, and it still holds up even now in 2020 and it performs really well on GTX 1080Ti. Now the most important facor the gameplay... DOOM 2016 offers on it's levels hidden sectrets like rooms or easter eggs. The combat system is really good and fluent without the need of reloading your gun, the game encourage you to use every weapon in your arsenal to get a better experience and if your not switching weapons, well... your playing it wrong, the game adds a new feature the glory kills that add a new way to finish demons from their misery, this feature has it's advantage like... getting health from killing this demons, the chainsaw makes a return too if you want to cut enemies in two and it has its advantages llike getting ammo from enemies. overall DOOM 2016 is an excellent game and worth checking out if you havent play it yet, best option is the PC port, right now is pretty cheap on STEAM and it comes with all DLCs included, the MP portion wasn't exactly that popular when it launch and today it's pretty dead that's why all DLCs were given for free after a while. But anyway... GREAT GAME.

Wolfenstein 2009 is sadly a really underrated game, if not the only forgotten game in the series, if it is forgotten it must be because is a bad game right? in this case Wolfenstein 2009 is not a bad game, it is a pretty solid game... Unfortunately it was victim of the "COD MW2" era where every game tried to implement a MP component that could compete alongside COD and that's why this specific entry in the series is usually underappreciated. Developed by Raven software (before they were task into developing the MP component of every COD since 2013) in association with Id Software. Wolfenstein is a direct sequel to Return to Castle Wolfenstein, we follow B.J. Blazkowicz onto a German town Isenstadt as he attempts with the resistance to stop Deathshead from using the energy from the "black sun" dimension as a weapon to win the war. The game was built with the Id Tech 4 engine also known as the DOOM 3 engine, and i have to say that the game looks really good, it stills holds up now in 2020, maybe it doesn't have the same level of dynamic lighting and shadows as DOOM 3, but it looks really polished. The player aside from getting access to the usual fire weapons he can use a medallion that you get at the beginning of the game to activate supernatural powers that the player can use in combat like: slowing the time, activating a shield, inflict extra damage... let's not forget that you can upgrade your weapons as well by finding gold that can be used as money to purchase this upgrades in the black market. Wolfenstein 2009 offers large maps like a sandbox, the player can explore the town looking for gold and secrets as well completing side missions from NPS, all this adds more length into the game, because the camping in short... not that much, but it is short. The game came with a MP portion but... it is dead now, it think it died shortly after the game was released, so i have no clue how it used to be. The game runs really well on modern os but you can't buy this game on STEAM any more, it's been out of the store for some time now, you can find it on ebay, there will be some offers that will be cheap and some other will be expensive, but is the only legal way to play this on PC. This is a good good game, and it needs more appreciation from the Wolfenstein fan base.

Conflict: Denied Ops is one of those games that doesn't know how the game should be played, the player must play like if it's a tactical shooter, hold still in one position and take a precise shot to kill the enemy... but then enemies behave like if you were player a standard first person shooter, they move all over the place, they don't miss a shot and can take you down is 3 shots or less making the overall experience really annoying and frustrating and the idea of taking precision shots a really hard task. Friendly AI is... random, at least for me it was random, sometimes it will be useful and some other times it will be a total dumb standing in one place waiting to be killed. Visually it looks like a game from 2007, the enviorments are fine ate best but character models looks not that good with some blurry textures. Pro points in favor... the destructible enviorments and physics. Voice acting is fine at some points, some dialogs are silly and... bad. For the story is your typical military plot that focus on infiltration behind enemy lines and terrorist attacks that involve nuclear missiles. The game runs great on modern os wthout any compatibility issues. To be hones i didn't finished the game, i was on the last mission but... getting constantly killed because bad controls and super aggressive enemy AI was enough for me to quit.

I'm a great fan of Monolith's work from Blood to No one lives Forever to F.E.A.R. But the early years of Monolith Productions was kind off hard for them, of the games that almost make the company went bankrupt was Shogo: Mobile Armor Division, and... it's not hard to see why. Monolith decided to create a game engine of their own called Lithtech engine, it was made specifically for this game and later the rest of their game uses the same updated version... but this made no justice to Shogo what so ever because the game looks ugly... even for a game released in 1997. Character models looks awful, weapons and the arm model are as well terrible... the main character's fingers looks like if they were made from sausages. The story is not bad, but is not interesting. As this is an FPS game the only thing you do in the whole game is shooting at everything, but the controls are weird, I've encounter a situation were i had to shoot the weapon using a key rather than the mouse, i just couldn't make the game to recognize the mouse buttons to shoot. Although, shooting felt good and satisfying and the idea of switching from human to a giant mech was amazing... actually i did enjoy even more when i was playing as the robot shooting at other robots at the streets of the city than when i was playing as the human sections. Sadly... the game contains some frustrating difficult, enemies will never miss a shoot the can basically kill you in a couple of hits and they behave like if they knew from were you will show up. Is this game worth it? not really, you can play it if you want but it will not be a good experience.

Call of Duty 2 made a huge improvement over the original game... in the technical aspect, The modify version of the ID tech 3 engine use in this game improve character models, textures, shaders and add real time shadows, maps were more bigger than in the previous game... However, Call of Duty 2 still suffers from a really boring and generic narrative and mission structure, players saw the return of Captain Price but aside from him there's no real characters. The game still missing the sprint feature that was added on the first game's expansion pack (also known as DLC), enemies are bullet sponges... sometimes they can drop "dead" to the floor, but after a couple of second they stand up again, after you shot them the whole magazine, most of the time you'll never be sure if they are totally dead. A new mechanic was added... the regenerating health that today's is kind off hated by some of the COD community but it is better that looking for health packs and this feature helps in some "tight" situations. Sadly compared to United Offensive, COD 2 offers no real challenge what so ever so it can be easily grabbed for casual players. In short terms... COD2 was tech improvement that perfectly fit with the launch of the XBOX 360, but is it way better than the original? no...

COD United Offensive is the first and only expansion (known today as DLC) that featured a bonus campaign before COD switched to just MP maps. United Offensive was developed by Grey Matter interactive who previously work on Return to Castle Wolfenstein, a game that is know for been one of the hardest shooters from the golden age of gaming, so... this game is though!!! really though and brutal at times, not recommended for casual gamers. The game features new missions and tree different campaigns: The American, The British and The Russian. In comparison to the first game, United Offensive has better production quality than the base game, more detailed environments, more variation on levels, visually it looks better. The game adds an important component that the base game lacks off... and that is a sprint bottom, now you can move faster to take cover on time to prevent die, which is something that will happen way to often here. As i mention United offensive is not as casual as the base game, here you will need fast reactions, move quickly and have a quick finger, enemies hates you and will crush you fast, part of the difficult relies on the aim bot system that enemies have... this guys won't miss a shoot!!!, still is not impossible to beat, but the failure screen will display a lot during your play time that it will become your new best friend, sometimes you won't know who hit you!!! The story is... still generic as hell, still lacking from memorable characters, but... the battle are now memorable and frenetic. Grey Matter did a good job with this one... shortly after this they were merged into Treyarch.

After playing the first Call of Duty I've come to appreciate even more the modern and lates COD titles. So... COD was developed by a new studio (back in that day) called Infinity Ward, formed by developers who previously worked on Medal of Honor, an extremely WWII shooter before cod. Back in 2003 COD got released on the market published by Activision and somehow it became more popular than Medal of Honor. COD 1 is way too generic!!!! even more than MOH... you got no interesting battles, no memorable characters... nothing. The level design is repetitive and so unimaginative... it just have no creative structure. The game is divided on 3 campaigns, The American, the British and the Russian... only the Russian campaign is really worth it and the best part of the whole game. Visually... it came back in 2003, but there were other games released during that time or even before that look way better than this one, it just... didn't age well, and if you really look at it... it looks really amateur. Still... this is the game that started it all, and an important peace of gaming history.

Disney's The Haunted Mansion

If i can compare Disney's The Haunted Mansion with an existing game, that will be Luigi's Mansion... or I can simply describe it as that. The game was developed by High Voltage Software, a game company that i haven't seen too many games from them... their latest game was Zombieland: Double tap (which was a bad game by the way) but this game is... actually good!!! Even though this game was released the same year as the Eddie Murphy film back in 2003, the video game is not a direct adaptation from the movie... instead it tells it's own original story inspired on the concept from the Disneyland ride. The story is about a guy named "Ezekiel Halloway" who's new job is to be the keeper of the mansion, he soon discovers that the mansion has been overtaken by a evil entity called "the order of shadows" now... it's up to him to set free the spirits that walk through the corridors from the house. The game is play as a third person perspective with some shooting elements, the player has on his disposal a lamp that can be used to shoot evil spirits and to capture them as well, as the player progress through the game he will be able to upgrade his lamp with some crystals. The Haunted Mansion is a really linear game... way too linear, doors will be locked with an spirit count, as the player enters to a different room he will need to capture souls, the more souls you got more doors will be open... but this rooms will be available in order. Moving to the difficult, even that the player can choose the game's difficult, the overall game in not that hard or challenging, there will be some challenges like 2 that are a bit hard but they won't take too long to complete and they consist on trial and error. Visually the game looks good and has a unique style that aims more to look like a cartoon but not too much, even for a ps2 the game looks good, the only difference it had between the gamecube and xbox version is that this one has no "dynamic shadows" but overall they look the same. It's sad this game never got released on PC, but some day if you got the chance to play it... do it, it is a good game and you will enjoy it.

Feb 27, 2020
The Godfather 2 the game is an adaptation of the film to a game and it is a direct sequel to the first game, telling a story of it's own. Compared to the first game this is a far better game that learned from the mistakes from the first game making it a huge improvement... but is it perfect? let's check it out. As mention above, the game tells an original story and it crosses between scenes from the film. In the game the player plays as Dominic, a member of the Corleone family who's been left in charge of taking care of the family's businesses, just like in the first game, the story is interesting and good, in terms it's a bit shorter than the first game but interesting. For the gameplay mechanics the combat made a huge improvement, hand to hand combat and gun combat, now the bullets hits the enemies (something that in the first game was rare), precision is far better, enemies are more balanced and... well... in general the combat is enjoyable!!! the game is an open world style of game, now the story and game don't take place just in New York... it expands to Florida and Cuba offering more variation in environments. Racket take down has returned from the first game, but now it's more fun, it consist of taking over rival family businesses, once you control all the rackets you can take their compound and eliminate that family from existence, In the first game this was optional and by taking rackets you earned more money to buy upgrades, here it works the same, you can buy upgrades to get stronger and buy upgrades for your crew... this is something i will mention shortly, still this rackets are still optional but there's a new addition in this racket take down, now rival families can take back rackets you take from them, this is something that didn't occurred in the first game, and because of this a new addition was added which is "crew members" the player will be able to recruit members to his family that can assist you into combat when things got a little tough, this members had their abilities that makes them useful to create different approaches to engage in combat, at the same time you can send them to take rackets by their own or the defend them, as mention with the money you earned you can upgrade your crew to make them stronger for combat, all this adds a little implementation of RTS style of gameplay to plan your attacks and defends. During the game the player will find weapon upgrades for more firing power to take down enemies even faster, you can add weapon upgrades to your crew but for this you need a "Gun Licence" and this can only be obtained in only multiplayer which by the way is totally dead. You can customize you outfit and you crew outfit as well. Certain rackets will unlock useful upgrades that can only be obtained when taking over rackets like, bulletproof vests, bulletproof cars, extra ammo, and more money. The game runs well in modern OS, i had no problem making it run in Windows 10, (something that was a big issue with the first game and i had to play it on another PC running Windows 7), no need to install custom patches or community mods or anything like that, just install and play... well, you will only need a patch for the activation key but only that. Now moving fast with the not so great stuff... The Godfather 2 suffers some technical issues like NPCs or crew members getting stuck in invisible walls, sometimes your crew members AI won't be to efficient and you will end off being their babysitter so they won't get injured in combat, sometimes you will be driving and the car will got stuck in the floor and once you get down from the car this will disappear from existence. Character models looks like if they were made out of plastic, which is something that surprise me, because Visceral Games made this game and the year prior to this game they released Dead Space which still looks pretty good for today. Mission design is the same in every mission, Drive here, talk to someone and then drive again and kill someone and repeat. The Godfather 2 is a huge improvement over it's predecessor, adding new mechanics and redefining old ones, visually looks bad, it's a shame, and it mission design it way to repetitive and Ai is a bit silly, but it is an enjoyable game after all. Should you play it? sure, why not? It's a shame that this game is not available on STEAM, GOG or ORIGIN, your only option is buy it on Ebay pre-owned but well.

Half Life 2 Episode one is in short terms a DLC that expands and continues the story of the base game after it ends in a cliffhanger, and it still retains great combat and the puzzle solving from the base game... sadly it does to little to improve over it's predecessor and you basically end off playing the same game but shorter. In the whole game there's just one new character or enemy introduced a sort of alien thing that has mind control or something like that... i didn't pay to much attention to that part, and there's one new enemy type... yet another zombie but this has bulletproof vest that makes him handle more damage... out of that there's nothing new. The level design is not that amazing compared to the base game and you play in the same environments which are located in "city 17" streets and more streets. The combat remains great, I wish they could have add a new weapon or something like that. But no. The game has a pretty simple premise and objective... escape from city 17 with a bunch of survivors and that it, let see how it end in episode 2. Even that it did nothing to improve, the game stills be enjoyable and fun, and still worth your money... As i mention... it could have been better if they could have add more environments, weapons and more enemies and more new characters, i don't mind the short length.

Onechanbara Z2 on PC is a port of the PS4 version, let's start by saying that runs pretty well without any problems... well the intro cinematic and credits can't be displayed by some reason, it just show a black screen with audio but well... aside from that the game runs pretty well. This is a hack n slash kind off game, it is better if you play with a controller rather than mouse and keyboard, still, the controller support is not that good. Visually is ok... the environments are pretty linear and looks like they could belong to the ps3 era, as i mention, levels have a tough linear nature offering zero exploration freedom, there will be moments in which the player will got into a large arena to engage into combat with the undead enemies that the game offers. Character modeling for enemies is not that amazing, in the other hand... the playable characters are well modeled and the render they have looks nice... unfortunately... animations are... awful, well... the lip sync animation is atrocious, characters barely moves their lips and it seems that the voices comes off screen. The plot is pretty basic, is about a group of hybrid vampires that join forces to destroy an evil entity that has some "sinister" plans for humanity. As mention, the story is not that amazing... i think that the story is not the strongest point of the game, the stronger point of the game that end off cough the attention of gamers are two of the playable characters that are always fighting in bikinis or in bra. The game gives to the players of change the outfit of the protagonist... but... you have to pay for the outfits, and the worst part is that those outfits are nothing more than cosmetic changes, they wont give more health nor more power... is just a waste of money. Combat is actually good and pretty fluid, i just didn't like the combat moves of one particular character, i felt it was weak. After killing enemies they will drop some glowing balls that are points that you can use to upgrade your weapons and abilities. There will be boss fights and sub boss fight, some of them will be boring, and some others will be great, specially the final boss. The game switches from animated in game cinematic to comic panel cinematics with dialog to narrate the story, i do like the voice acting, it is not award nominated stuff but it is solid enough to be believable, again... is a shame that the lip sync animation is bad. Should you buy and play the game? well... i would say that is totally up to you, the combat is fun and offers a solid voice acting, but is pretty short, easy and with a forgettable story with a custom outfits that you have to pay for and they will not give you any benefit at all.

Lego Star Wars recreates the most iconic moments from the Star Wars prequel trilogy recreating them the most accurate it can, of course the developers add their own spice to make the game fun. The humor the game handles is funny, maybe not that funny like a cartoon, but descent enough that can be enjoy for both kids and adults, not like the more modern LEGO games which humor is getting sillier each entry. Each level recreates an scene from the films, each level has its collectibles that the player can collect playing as a default character from the level or playing as other character from in free roam. The game is short... the targeted audience were kids, so, the game is not that challenging, normal enemies can be defeated with one or two hits, boss battles had between 5 to 10 life points and they can be easily defeated as well, so... this is a little disappointing. Controls are terrible if you play with keyboard, there are instances that some key does not response as they suppose to. The graphics are fine, not that amazing nowadays but it has some great reflective effects. The game runs without any problem with modern OS and graphic cards and it can handle solid 60 FPS without ground breaking technical glitches or broken AI, and without having to install any patches or community fixes or anything like that. This is the kind of game that you can play if you don't what to play next.

Half-Life 2 turned out to be way better than i though, it is a huge improvement over the first game by a lot features like, better lighting, better level design, better art direction, huge combat improvement, physics and difficulty balancing. The original Half-Life was a disappointing for me, it was frustrating on it's difficulty balance, combat and annoying platforming sections, those are almost non existent here and thankfully Valve solve all those issues and make a way better Half-Life experience. Although i cannot say that Half-Life 2 is the perfect game or the best game ever made, it has its flaws, like any other game, the game includes a new mechanic that involves driving mechanics to travel long distances... the driving is pretty terrible (sorry). The voice acting is average, not bad but not great either, there are some character with a pretty calm voices over the situations occurring in the campaign, friendly squad AI is not that great, enemies like the zombies, head crabs or whatever they are called, and some little robots that fly with blades are pretty annoying and those enemies are way to often to encounter. One of the biggest improvements was the physics, that are useful to move over other section and they respond fluently, over the failed attempt from the first game. Facial animation is really impressive for a game released back in 2004, character felt... real!!! and not like lifeless mannequins. Still... i cannot deny the Half -Life 2 is a great and impressive game, that everyone should play, specially now that they are for free on STEAM (well... free to play for a limited time). But again, everyone should play it.

BioShock took the world by surprise back in 2006 when it was first release for the Xbox 360, later being ported to the PS3 and PC. BioShock is one of those games that keep proving that video games can tell compelling storytelling, the world in BioShock is well crafted with inspirations from art deco architecture and beautiful detailed and rendered thanks to the power house of the Unreal engine 2 (a modified version of it), at times i thought that the games used Unreal 3. The gameplay felt unique, maybe not exactly original as it follows the same steps from it blood relative "System Shock", but it was something that no other game made, giving the option to the player to use both fire weapons and "powers" provided by the genetic modified plasmids, to make the combat sequence more frenetic and chaotic. The voice acting is superb and it keeps sounding really good 15 years or so since it's release. And the music... oh boy, it really gets under your skin. BioShock has a beautiful and dreadful world surrounded with great character that have become iconic in the game industry, an excellent story, and fun mechanics, this is one of those games with the label "Games you should play before you die"

Jan 30, 2020
In comparison to the previous expansion "Blue Shift" this expansion opposing force is kind off tough, but not that much that can cause rage quit or something like that. Here now you play as Corporal Shepard a soldier who's team has been sent to black mesa to hunt down Gordon Freeman, while fighting against aliens and other opposing force the "black ops". As mention just before, you play as a soldier, so... at first you might think that it will be a "walk in the park" tons of weapons and ammo, but no... ammo is scars here, and enemies are much more relentless, in the original Half-Life the opposing force enemies were like bullet sponges, manage to handle multiple shots, but now, the black ops are much worse, they can handle even more harm, and they are more accurate, female black ops members are way to fast, it can be really hard to take them down. Opposing force introduces new enemy alien types and 3 new weapons, but still ammo is almost a luxury and enemies can handle multiple shots, basically... every bullet counts. The level design still very amazing, Gearbox really knew what they ere doing, still, most of the environments are indoors, but the overall design and lighting makes the levels really sharp and impressive, as for platformer sections, they still present in the game, but they are less common. The story is the least important factor in this expansion, it felt like a generic military shooter, and... it is. For the game's length, it's short... kind off... it took me about 4 hrs to beat, including the times were i constantly got killed, i believe that it is short, but you can beat it in less time if you have already played it multiple times. It is fun to play... it is a bit more challenging, but once you finish it you will feel good, just don't play it if you are looking for a good story because you will not find it here.

Seed of the Dead is one of those game were you end off thinking "what the hell did i just play?" if there's a way to describe briefly what this game is about i could say "hentai zombie shooter" because that's what it is. The game is a First person shooter in which you control a male character just called "player" you never manage to knew his name... you meet tree girls and the 4 of you must survive the zombie apocalypse, what's the goal of the zombies?... **** the girls... that's awful. The witting is not exactly bad or terrible... but the story and concept is poor, like... it could easily fit into a low budget porn film. The premise is a bit like this: a nameless character woke up, he meet tree girls with big guns, they must fight together to survive and the way they heal from their wounds... having sex at random situations... and the female companions... they are sex addicts!!! they will beg you for some sex... at first it was funny to see that, but after a while it got more constant and it wasn't funny anymore but cringe. The gameplay consist of moving trough different stages that looks like arenas and fight trough waves of zombies and other enemy type, this will, once the wave is finished you have 1 minute to collect ammo, other weapons (you can only carry 3 fire weapons) and heal yourself and your teammates... with sex... yeah, at the end of some chapters there will we some "sex mini game" in which the player will have sex with one of his teammates. The plot is narrated with some 2d illustrations of the female characters, alongside some text that you can read because the voice acting is in Japanese, the illustrations look good tho. One of the first things that you will notice is an inconsistency of visual style, the 3d character models of the female companions looks a bit amateur (not entirely bad but... well) and the rest of the environmental assets have descent detail... why is that? because the developers bought the assets and blueprints from the Unreal marketplace, for real, they admit it in the credits. At the end, this is a weird and uncomfortable game to play, don't you bother to play it if anyone is around, not even stream it, (that if you are a twitch streamer) i even feel bad to admit here that I've play it.

Half-Life: Blue Shift is an stand alone expansion for the original game, even that it didn't do any major improvement aside from the more detailed character models, it manage to be better than the original game. In this short campaign... an it is very short... with a length of 2 hrs max, we play as a blue shift security guard as he fights his way through black mesa to escape. Somehow this game is a little less a pain in the ass like the original game, and the difficulty is a little bit more balance, making encounters less painful. Death is inevitable, but fells less frustrating. Even that most of the time you will be in sewers and closed areas, the level design stills pretty solid with amazing lighting and shadowing, unfortunately... the game is pretty dark, you will be walking in pitch darkness most of the time this due that most of the environments takes places in air docks and sewers and the flash light is not that great. Platformed sections are still pretty bad and annoying, but at least those are not that often. Combat feels more fluent than in the first game... and... well... i feel blue shift more "lineal" in it's design but... well... it was a good experience. I was a little skeptical about playing this one, because i didn't like that much Half-Life 1, but... i did like this entry, now, i just have to find out how opposing forces works and then how Half-Life 2 works.

Jan 22, 2020
Having a favorite video game is not easy in a world that have seen lots of great games... for me The Operative No one lives forever is my favorite game of all time. this game is unique in every aspect , back in it's day and even today video games sadly don't do this kind of projects any more and sadly NOLF has been forgotten by a lot of gamers. The game's plot follows Cate Archer, a spy who works with a counter terrorism organization called UNITY, in a race against time to stop HARM from destroying the world. NOLF is a First person shooter with stealth elements taking place in a stylish 1960s era that has heavy influence from tv shows and movies like "Get smart" and "The Avengers (the 60s spy series not the super hero movies)" and "Austin Powers"... so... what makes this game so special? well... the story is not very serious but is not ridiculous either, offering comedic moments and dialog with colorful and stylish characters, the game's gadgets that Archer will use through the game are disguised as cosmetics that gives a different air to a shooter game so it doesn't look like any other game from that time and even today. Missions takes place in different locals with a bast variety in levels and structures to keep being unique, now... missions even that sometimes could have the same objective, the way you can handle them makes them different each time, like, going totally stealth or going gun blasting like a maniac... well... not all of those missions, some will be strictly require total stealth. NOLF is a fun and awesome game, you will not get bored, but... it's not exactly an easy game, the more you progress enemies will be more aware of your presence and they will get each time tougher. Something to keep in mind... there are no health pack in the game, so... be carefuller if you die in the mission you either start from the beginning or from the last check point, and they are a bit far from each other. NOLF has the "must play" seal on it and it's true... this is a must play game that will totally worth your time... sadly... it's not available in digital stores like STEAM OR GOG due some legal IP issues with the game's rights, but you can either get if on ebay or by the NOLF revival team (for free)

A port **** released on the Xbox 360 back in 2006 that in a way was like a launch title of the console, now the PC version got released almost 12 years later and the developers claim that this port is an improvement from the console counterpart... this final release is way to far from being an improvement. The game's visuals looks... ugly... like... it stills looks like an early 360 title, and after 12 years you might think that the developers had remaster the game or enhance the visuals but... no... the game looks really bad... more like an amateur game. Bullet witch is a really short and lineal game only offering 3 main scenarios, 2 of them taking place in devastated cities and one take place on a forest. The level design is very simplistic and almost most of all the ares will look the same with the same structure in mind and even that there are enemies and some civilians running around the game's world fells extremely empty. Bullet witch looks like a hack n slash title when you first see it but once you start to play it turns out to be a 3rd person shooter... a very simple one, in the game's mechanics the player can use magic spells that can be upgraded at the end of the level to improve the amount of damage it can make, but this magic spells became useless and once you tried them one time there's no reason at all to use them again... because they are not that great. weapons can be upgraded too, like upgrade the assault rifle from Alicia to turn it into a shotgun or rocket launcher, but at the end the need of upgrade weapons became useless for the following reason... The game's difficult is a joke... for real. The main reason of the game being too short is because it is way to EASY, even in higher difficulties enemies will die from a couple of shots, even the big ones as well, there's another reason why using spells and upgrading weapons are useless because the game does not offer any challenge what's so ever. it's like playing "A series of unfortunate events" on PC. Enemy variation is scarce, you will shot the same looking zombie soldier in the whole game, there will be some other type of enemies, but those encounters are not that often, the game only has 2 boss fights and... they are easy as well... is this game made for kids? or what? The character design for our main heroin is one of the only 2 things i like about the game, that, and the destruction system in some structures, it was amazing summoning a tornado and contemplate how it tear apart a building, that was great. The game's plot was so generic and simple, the dialog cheesy and the story never gave an answer about why Alicia is a witch and from were she got her powers. One of the "improvements" that the port has is the 60+ FPS, you can select manually if you want to play it on 30 or 60 frames before the game starts, but i've notice that playing on 60 fps can alter some of the game's physics objects and this will react even with the slowest movement possible. What can you expect from Bullet Witch... not that much, this is a kind of game that you can play when you don't know what to play next, and once you finish it there's no reason to replay it again.

Even that this is not the first time that Halo comes to the PC, this is a great opportunity for gamers that have never played a Halo game before mostly because the XBOX exclusive, to finally get their hands on it. Personally i felt interested into play Halo but never got the chance because i was more a PlayStation guy and the idea of buying another console to play one game was really stupid. But finally, the master chief collection comes to the PC with enhanced graphics!!!! cool right ? well... yes and not, because Halo:Reach is the only game available to play right now and once you finish it that's it, the fun is over... kind off... if you want to hop in into the MP you can still have fun. But well. I believe that 343 industries and Xbox studios should have postpone the launch of the game, at the end what we got is an unfinished game, and that's lame. Now moving into the important aspects of the game, the campaign length is reasonable enough for a military shooter like 6 hrs or less, i believe it last the same amount of time that a regular Call of Duty campaign, for the story... it is not a very amazing plot, but again for a sci-fi military shooter is good. Visually... it looks good, the game offers 3 different graphic presets (it's sad it doesn't contain more graphic options) these presets are "performance" "original" and "enhanced" between the original and enhanced preset i have to say, i didn't see any difference they both look the same. The game's difficulty is a little out of place and it doesn't fully resemble the option you selected, the easy difficult felt like the normal difficult and the normal difficult felt like the hard difficult... yeah... weird right (or at least for me felt like that). I don't know if Halo: Reach was made in mind for CO-OP gameplay, cus i believe it could be more efficient that way. Friendly AI is a bit dumb at times, they can be useful in combat as they can inflict damage to enemies, but if we refer to orientation there's were they're dumb, let's say you want to get into a tank or vehicle and you want to shoot instead of driving, if you let the friendly AI to drive they will constantly getting stuck or they will take their time to get into the vehicle, one step at a time. Still... This is a great opportunity to play Halo on the PC for "the first time" in this collection and that performs very well, but so far on it's current state... the game remains unfinished with missing campaigns.

For years i have been aware of the existence of the Devil May cry series in the game industry and that it was well acclaimed by critics (most of the titles) but somehow, I've never fell interested in playing them, but that change when Devil May Cry 5 was announced. The trailers made the game looks stunning and great, and... it is a great game. DMC 5 was built using the RE Engine from Resident Evil 7 and this game looks better than those two previous RE games. Facial animations look real with huge detail, the lighting made the game looks real at times and the level design is amazing, maybe a little bit linear but amazing. I did like the story, even that i think it made reference to the previous games that i haven't played... I will eventually. But combat was a little bit... well... meh... it wasn't bad, but is not perfect either. In the game the player will be switching between Dante, Nero and V, each character has their unique and different combat style and upgrades that can be done with red orbs that the player will found through the level, back at the combat, at the moment you get use to play as one character the game forces you to play as another and now you most adapt to that character combat style, so... i never fell 100% comfortable with this combat style switch. Now moving quickly to the performance... woow!!!! Using a GTX 1080 Ti this game runs amazingly smooth with no fps drops what so ever without using too much GPU and CPU usage Aside from that DMC 5 is an amazing game that is worth your time.

Zombieland double tap the game is a sort of rip off Left 4 Dead, a 4 player co-op game where you shoot zombies while completing story missions on a top/down perspective. I haven't seen the second film, so i don't know if the game's story is like a prequel to the film or something like that. The controls are very simple as well the objectives, go to point A to point B while killing on the way hordes of zombies that constantly re spawn on spawn points called "Nests" The game starts well... good, but when reaching the end of the game it became totally unplayable unless you play with tree more people, otherwise playing the last mission alone will be impossible, and i think the game is broken on the last mission, there's an specific point that when i reach it, the character stops shooting and it refuses to shoot and zombie AI will break... so basically i couldn't finish the game, but i think i played enough. The graphics are... well... terrible, the game was built using the Unity engine, models look most of the time well and polished, but the overall quality and lighting looks like a game that could have been release back on 2009 or like a PS3 launch title.

Zombocalypse is a simple yet entertaining side scrolling, beat'em up style shooter featuring... well... zombies. The game has no premise and story what so ever, the player plays trough 4 levels shooting the same looking type of zombie, collecting XP to level up to unlock the next stage as well this to unlock kill streaks that will help you when you get surrounded by zombies, and to unlock weapons. Zombies in this game drops coins that will allow the player to upgrade some abilities and his weapons for inflict more damage. Out of that, there's nothing more to see... like i mention, it's simple and short, but entertaining, you just need to play it for an hour and you get the full experience... even if you don't fully unlock all the stages.

I've heard wonders about Half-Life for years (specially the second game), I've heard that is the best game ever created and stuff like that and I never had the chance to play it until now, and honestly it wasn't what i was expecting it to be. (AND I KNOW THAT SOME PEOPLE WHO READ THIS WOULD HATE ME FOR THIS) but Half-Life was a huge disappointing game in my opinion and a really bad game. I have to admit in a positive way that even that the story is not ground breaking or anything like that, it was a huge improvement into storytelling, all the game's plot was shown via "scripted sequences" and this made useless the need of use pre-rendered cutscenes or cutscenes in general, so the players don't loose the immersion that this world has build playing as one of the most iconic video game characters. It's a shame that the gameplay in general is... well... bad. Let's begun with the combat, one of the very first weapons that the player got their hands off was the iconic crowbar, but... melee combat is awful in this game, it is good to break crates and glasses but combat totally no. Fire weapons are so inconsistent in their damage rate, like, how is it possible that a pistol is more powerful than an assault rifle? or a shotgun? the best gun is the magnum revolver, unfortunately ammunition for this gun is really scarce, this gun is literally one shot kill. Enemies are annoying, specially those little alien things that zombies had in their heads, those things appear out of nowhere and can inflict a lot of damage, and the soldiers too, those guys are bullet sponges!!!. In this game you will die a lot, but you die in the most unfair ways possible and this end of feeling like a really cheap move to make the game feels "challenging". Even that the levels are lineal, and the game's nature is lineal as well, I end being lost a lot of times wondering "what am i suppose to do now?" there's no objectives tab or anything like that, you have to interact with NPC's that will give hints to were to go next, a good addition from this NPC'S is that some can be useful to unlock some doors or even help you in combat, but they die quickly, even more that what you could expected. Platforming sections are terrible and it's a good example of why platforming and First Person Shooters usually don't get along, and the game's implementation of boxes with physics... are awful (good thing this was fixed in the second game). Half-Life is indeed an iconic game from the late 90s and calling it the worst game would be fair or perhaps it wouldn't be a very accurate statement. The game isn't entirely that bad as i made it look, it had it's moments of glory, but still, calling it a masterpiece... well, it's not masterpiece. Half-Life is a most have game or even one of the game you should play before dying, give it a try, master game, learn it's combat pasterns and you will have a really satisfying experience.

Developed by Visceral games (the guys from Dead Space)... well when they used to be called EA Redwood. The Godfather the game was EA's attempt to make a GTA clone, The IP had great potential to be a great GTA clone game, but... the final game feels rushed with a terrible combat system. Visually the game did not age well... the graphics are really bad, specially the environments, character models are well modeled and the texture work makes them look descent enough. The game takes place on New York, but most of the streets and buildings looks the same. For a game that relies heavily in combat it's implementation is badly executed, gun shooting has a poorly precision, basically most of the shoots will not hit the enemy even if you lock your aim to it. As well as it's unbalanced, you can be level 4 which in this game is called "CAPO" and a level 2 enemy can erase you from existence in a couple of shoots, and i have to mention as well that enemies are bullet sponges... this ****. The game has a leveling system that will increase your rank based on respect collected, this can be collected by completing missions, side missions and taking over rackets and extorting local business. But let's face it... extorting every single business and racket will take for ever, as they are too many and guarded by rival mafia families and this can be skip able, but... at the same time you must do them to keep leveling up so you can beat tougher enemies. Driving is not that bad, but cars are easy to broke, it's like if they were made out of paper. Mission design is boring and extremely repetitive, drive to this position, shoot someone and drive again and shoot again. No variation at all. The only positive point of this game is the story, it tells it's own story with a new character (the player) as he made his way ranking into different positions in the Corleone family business. The cut scenes are entertaining and the writing is good too, it has some scenes from the first film but most of the game it's an original story, Marlon Brandon return to play Don Corleone (well... the most he could) it's a shame they couldn't get the likeness of Al Pacino and his voice for Michel Corleone. Running this game in modern systems it's not an easy task, The game won't work at all in Windows 10, it will crash after character customization even applying patches, renaming the Video folder that plays the cutscenes or setting compatibility mode won't work, my only solution was installing windows 7 on my imac and play there instead of my gaming PC and even so some tweeks are require to make it run without problem on windows 7.

I really like Bloodstained, I like the Metroidvania classic gameplay style reminiscence from Castlevania from which this game is a spiritual successor and the combat, but some other aspects like the visual style was a little mixed... there are some areas and enemies that fit perfectly in a shared universe with Castlevania and some other enemies like a dog head, a big cat and some girls with electric guitars felt out of place with the game. I still believe that the game need a bit more polish or detail... I know that it looks better than it looked back when the first trailer drop but still... i really had times were i doubt that the game was built in the Unreal 4 engine. The game relies a lot from exploration, which is mandatory, you cannot just go and beat the game doing little exploration because there will be areas that you need to go if you want to progress into the story line, you will need to collect shards that are like powers to reach the areas you need to keep progressing the story, and this affects the ending. Bloodstained has like...4 endings or so... i haven't seen them all, but, the more areas you explore the more chances you'll get to see the good ending, that and do some specific stuff to not altered the ending as well... and that is something i really personally don't like about the game. Bloodstained is a hard game like, well,a Castlevania game, and it can be as long or short as you wan't depending at how good you'll get into combat during the game and how often you die. Probably i will not play it again, but overall is a good game and if you read this and haven't play it yet... well, go now and try it.

Ion Fury is a game that tries to live up from the nostalgia fever that we live today, recreating the classic FPS experience of games from the DOOM era that includes Shadow Warrior, Blood and Duke Nukem 3D... but, at the end the game gets boring after some time playing and a mess. I won't deny that the level design is amazing in this game, the level designers really push the Built engine to it's limits delivering huge detailed maps, but this is one of it's problems... as the game objectives mostly consist on collecting color keys and activating some switches to progress into the game this huge maps can became a maze at times and collecting this keys became a nightmare getting constantly lost (that is if you have disorientation problems like me). What was really cool from the classic fps that this game imitates was that the levels were small or even huge but well built that was easy to find the keys, the only problem with those games was finding the secret areas, but, this game takes some time to find the keys and even more secret areas which by the way there are many per level. The combat really shines being brutal in higher levels just like the old times, it will really push your reactions so you won't get kill, and off course, ammo can be scarce. The game does a really bad job into telling you what to do next or were to go. Now the games has it's weapon arsenal but, the weapons are not that fun to use except the shotgun, but the rest of the guns you will barely use them (at least i barely use most of them, cause it was better to use the shotgun). SO... i'm not saying that the game is bad, but it does not reach the same high as DOOM, specially, the only problem this game really have is it's levels, trying to mix some classic level design with the modern open area of today's level design is not a good mix after all.

The puzzles are not that hard but they are complex and can take you a few minutes to understand the solution. Overall a must play game, let's keep supporting indie developers!!!!!

Mario Kart Tour was the perfect dream... playing on the go (if you don't own a Nintendo mobile system). The graphics are good for a mobile game, well detailed and optimized to run without a problem... but. The game suffers from terrible controls, you either move your phone to guide the car or use your finger, but they are terrible implemented that feels like if you were driving a real car you can easily crash or kill someone, part of this is cause by the way it's played... playing it vertically. The tracks are way to small and only have 2 laps... i think that the race is no loner than 5 min or so. Finally... the monetization practice for a game aimed for kids who stay on their phones or ipads for hours playing games it's terrible... like... pay real money to play as Mario? really?

Beautiful art style and animation that makes look every 2D sprite like a 3D model character. The story... well... it is a love narrative so... Unfortunately for this ios game are it's mechanics and the way it works. you only get daily 100 energy, the game consist of choosing a dialog line and see how this affects the story, but every decision consumes 20 of you energy, so you end up having to wait to the next day to continue the plot once the energy got refilled again, or you can buy more energy. This kind of mechanics keeps proving that gamin on your phone it's not worth it.

Control from Remedy entertainment is a visually stunning technological achievement in graphics that even without ray tracing looks amazing, well optimized that run like a charm in a GTX 1080 ti with max settings. The gameplay and controls are nothing new but once you play it... it fell like if those mechanics were just new. The game has a bizarre and entertaining story and kind off makes you think you are watching a high budget Hollywood movie. The game is essentially an open world game that take place in one setting, there are main missions and side missions. Enemies have a level system like every open world that gets release today, you can craft new abilities and upgrades for your weapon to deal better with enemies. The art style is amazing, crafted with geometry and lighting, for some it will look simple for it's minimalist level design, but the shadows and lighting creates an artistic level of immersion. Unfortunately... Control suffers off a terrible navigation system, yes... the game has a map to guide you, but overall is hard to know in which floor you are and how to get to your objective, this cause me to miss lots of secondary missions, because i never knew which direction or which door was open to get there. Still... Control is an enjoyable game, that plays smoothly and looks amazing.

Until Dawn is that kind of game made for people who love horror movies, usually, when someone watch a horror movie, they start to build how they would approach to some situations if they were the main character... well... this game was made for that, so you can see haw your actions and decisions will affect the course of the story or if you will stay alive. The overall game mechanics are nothing new, they work the same as a "The Walking Dead" game where everything you do will have a consequence later in the story. Visually the game was beautifully crafted and proved how capable the PS4 is handling graphics that almost look real. Is this game scary? yes it is... it act like a slasher film that has some paranormal twist, the game uses psychological horror elements mixed with the typical survival horror. If you are a horror movie lover and own a PS4 the you should play this jewel.

Call of Duty: World at War - Final Fronts

Call of Duty: world at war - final fronts was the 4th and final game in the series to be released on the PS2, and aside of it's treyarch counterpart, this game is not a port but a stand alone game of it's own that tells it's own story with different characters, setting and missions. Visually it is not a gorgeous or well detail game, as it is using the ps2 hardware, but, it's at the same time amazing what Rebellion software could archive technical with this title, it has the most detail as possible that the hardware could allow as well some well executed and intense battle sequence, i could say this almost put the ps2 to it's limits. the maps are well structure and that's a good point. The story is different from the ps3, pc and xbox 360 versions, and it's narrated by it's protagonist showing images and real footage from the war, the game has 3 campaigns, the Americans fighting in the pacific, and in Europe against **** Germany and the British fighting against **** Germany... bad thing is that no Russian campaign was added here. Now moving to the negative part... as known, call of duty during the release of modern warfare became more a fast paced game with constant reflexes from the player, this game in comparison is more slow paced, by the fact that it is an fps on the ps2 (and fps were not that great on the ps2), camera movement is slow, even if you set the sensibility to high, the camera still slow, reloading is slow, aiming is slow, shooting is slow. The whole experience is ruined by it's controls. At the end, this is not a bad entry in the series, it is pretty enjoyable, unfortunately... it became extremely under appreciated and forgotten by it's major next gen console version.

Personally i'm not a huge fan of the stealth genre, i'm more of the go straight to the point rather than just sit and wait a few minutes for the perfect moment to take down an enemy, but there are games like Thief and Hitman that manage to be fair in check points, detection and how to deal with enemies in case you've been detected... Splinter Cell is not that game, it is more like the hardcore experience in stealth video games. This series is a big one... it has multiple sequels and a huge fan base. The game story is pretty interesting and well executed, movie quality stuff i would say. This game for it's time (2002/2003) was a tech improvement... it implemented real time shadows and lighting that were essential in the game's mechanics. This game was built using Unreal 2 Engine and still looks good... it looks better than letter games using that engine like... Land of the Dead and A series of unfortunate events. When an engine it's on good hands... amazing stuff can happen. For me, personally the general game was a huge downside due to it's controls, mission structure and stealth mechanics. Being stealthy is strongly recommended here, engage in combat and kill enemies is risky and can result in a mission failure. Making a sound can attract enemy attention and they will go looking for you, so try to not make any sound, stay hidden in the shadows is essential, the player can shoot to security cameras and light bulbs with your silenced pistol to remain hidden but when doing it, like i mention, will result into enemy patrols searching for you. Shooting at enemies is a no go, the aiming is inconstant at long range and it will alarm the enemy, there are multiple missions in which you must not get spotted, if so... mission fail and you must load the previous check point, most of the times you will rather press f5 to quick save and start from there. Again... Splinter Cell is not necessary a bad game or nothing like that, but this game is for the hardcore stealth gamer, which is not my case...

This reboot at launch tried to change the main game's landscape and main plot elements, instead of making a game about intergalactic menace and other alien forms, Propaganda games opted to a more generic military shooter roots. I have never played Turok before (the original/main games from the series) and the purpose of this reboot was approaching to a new audience... people like me that never play a Turok game before and trying to fit it to the standards of the game industry in 2008, that was extremely influence on the success that Call of Duty generated in 2007. Unfortunately for Propaganda Games and Disney Interactive this turned out to be a bad game that even a new comer into the series like me could even notice. The games's plot is as generic as it could be, about chasing for some criminal and his guerrilla soldiers in a planet inhabited by dinosaurs and you carry with more soldiers. Turok was build using the Unreal 3 Engine but... it look terrible... looks like it was build using the free version of the Unreal 3 which was called UDK (Unreal development Kit). The level design is too unimaginative, the game has 3 settings, the jungle, caves and enemy bases. The jungle levels are nothing more that big rocks with some big trees and grass, they all look the same. The caves... well... just rocks and more rocks, and the enemy bases grey corridors with some computer screens on the walls. The gameplay is generic and repetitive, shoot everything that moves, some quick time events, and regenerating health. Dealing with enemies is a pain in the ass here and inconsistent, let's start with the dinosaur enemies, shooting at them will consume most of your ammo, stab them is more effectively that shoot them, which is weird, and beside that, dinosaurs will keep re spawning unless you keep moving. Enemy soldiers in the other hand come in squads and they are bullet sponges at times some other times they will die from a couple of shoots, and they can kick your ass to quickly... yes... you will die a lot because of that in this game. The player can only carry a small amount of weapons and well... there aren't many weapons in this game as well, there are moments were the game will trow you some stealth mechanics for stab enemies while stay hidden on the grass or use the arrow to shoot them, but... they ****... and once you get spotted it's guns blazing, but this kind of games should be 100% guns blazing. weapons are weak specially the arrow that like i mention you will mostly use it for stealth attacks, but enemies will require at least 2 arrows. Boss fights are not that often and when they happen, this boss fights will require some specific pasterns to be beaten, the final boss is lame by the way... After this game the series haven't seen other game, but this game should have never came out.

Probably the best GTA game i have ever play, it is more easy to take in comparison to previous titles in the series, a better story that is not trying hard to be serious, and compelling characters that you really care about. As for the gameplay... well... there is no change at all is the same open world in third person with main and side missions that you can complete at the time you want with the option of causing mayhem and chaos in Los Santos. GTA 5 today still looking good, with a huge amount of attention to detail, and well the game runs smooth like butter in a GTX 1080 ti frame drops are not an issue at all. This game is perfectly optimized. Yeah.. GTA 5 is a most play and a most have for everyone.

Battlefield 1 tried something a little bit more different... returning to it's roots (even that the original games were center on ww2, but, ok). It didn't bother to compete with COD (in settings i mean), and it succeeded to be more "original" if we can say that. But even still, Battlefield didn't manage to be a great game, the end product is a kind of mixed experience. The games is divided into chapters or episodes, each one has a different hero and takes place in a different part of the world. Some missions will be on foot with your gun and some others controlling a vehicle can be a tank or a plane. As well some missions will have some large scale battles like the introduction level which is great but then the rest of the games are about infiltrating enemy lines and not being detected (if you want), that end up being boring. Visually the game looks gorgeous, the Frostbite engine manage to do a good gob at rendering large scale maps with full detail and destructible environments. Take on mind that Battlefield 1 is a CPU hungry title so... it will consume 100% of it's usage, in case you don't have a really capable CPU you will struggle with some FPS here and there.

Venus hostage is a first person walk simulator with some shooting on it, it is like a low budget soft porn Hostel film turned into a game, that in the end is a lame experience ****. It is really short... half an hour (or so). The level design is visually good and well polished... i don't know what engine the game use, but it kinda look like the Source engine. Character models are fine, for the most time (excluding the main character), with some awkward animations and sex scene that feels odd. As i mention, it's a first person walk simulator that offers environment exploration and puzzle solving, some of this uses the game physics to solve them. Through the environment you will find some collectibles like poster with naked girls. The shooting in the game only occurs in one section and it's pretty bad. at some points you will use melee attack at enemies, they will require at least 4 hits to be killed. The story is like Hostel... but a bit lame with soft porn on it, and it contains a really lame plot twist. Making the game run is a bit hard, on Windows 10 the game won't work at all, it will only throw you a "memory access violation" windows, On windows 7 the game will start but, I still got the "memory access violation" windows when i was about to watch the ending, so i had to watch the ending on Youtube. Really terrible!!!!

Quantum break is one of those games out there that have prove that you can have Hollywood quality stories in a video game and emerges you into it. It features a bizarre method of tell the story through rendered cinematics and at the same time features a live action show that you can skip if you want but is extremely necessary for you to watch it if you want to know a bit more about the plot and how it unveils. The game features quality actors that made a good job into bringing to life it's characters, the general acting is phenomenal. Visually is a beautiful well crafted and rendered game that performs marvelous in a GTX 1080 ti with almost no frame drops. The combat is smooth and exiting, allowing the player to either use weapons or his time travel powers to defeat faster the enemies. The only problem i had with the game is that lacks of consistent check points, if you are in a tedious part of the game (and there are) if you die you will have to go back and repeat some large exploration or repeat some encounters in order to reach to the point where you die. But that's the only complain a have, the game performs great, it looks great, the acting is amazing... this is an interesting game by Remedy and if you love Alan Wake and Max Payne this is a worth checking out.
