Wow, I regret giving this game any leeway. To kick things off, the graphics are basic and boy, are they bad. The characters all look ridiculously ugly and as the do the maps that you're fighting on. Then, there's the tedious gameplay loop that attempts to clone Smash Bros as much as possible and fails in every way possible in some extremely impressive ways. Like the combat takes no skill, the moves are incredibly basic and very unbalanced, and the game is incredibly mind-numbingly boring. Then, there's the community. Dear god, the obnoxious, lame, toxic community. You can't go two or three matches without playing against someone who's being unwarrantedly egotistical for the simple fact that they're slightly better at the game than you and they've wasted money on it. Like, seriously, you can be someone whose never spent a cent on this game and you'll instantly lose to someone whose spent at a minimum of $20 on it for ugly crossover skins that have ridiculous ranged moves and other things that completely unbalance the game for you and designate an almost guaranteed win for the person that you're going against.

And in another unsurprising outcome, critic scores are overly biased and non-sensical. Valorant is a horrible CS:GO clone that tries to shove in Overwatch mechanics of abilities and special heroes with it and, in no surprising turn of events, does a terrible job at it. Don't worry, the player-base ****, but it's a game by Riot Games. You'd be wrong to think they'd be slightly tolerable, but if you didn't have this thought process, good on you for not being as naive as me. And on top of the insufferable playerbase, there's horrible gunplay. CS:GO's gunplay wasn't even bad. It was very in-depth and complex and that's what VALORANT tries to copy. And fails. Very, very badly. The gunplay feels awful and way too complex to even get the basics of and it's ridiculous. As is the skill curve where new players are destined to get put with players who have no clue what they're doing and go against players who have too much of an idea of what they're doing. And even without that, the game is totally hellbent on lacking as much logic as possible. You can be right up in someone's face with a shotgun and hit them point blank and deal the absence of damage, but someone can hit you with a pistol from a mile away and one tap you. Not to mention, the optimization is terrible. Somehow, this game can run on an RTX 3050 and a Ryzen 7 and still perform like genuine trash.

While it is absolutely not a needed "remake" (more of a remaster as it doesn't change nor add that much onto the original game), Until Dawn's 2024 re-release does a great job at what it shoots for and that is refining the experience and making the game that much more beautiful and enjoyable by revamping the graphics, fixing the character models (and butchering others) and making the controls more comfortable, immersive and intuitive. It changes other things that many fans of the original didn't feel was necessary like changing the main theme to an original track by Mae Stephens, the wendigo's screeches and various trills and the soundtrack. Overall, this "remake" is not bad, however, it is not needed to truly get the full Until Dawn experience, but does help if you're a fan of the game and Supermassive Games' previous/newer workings.

Despite it being out for nearly a decade (including the last-gen release), Fortnite is still a semi-decent game. Epic Games consistently adds new content to it like new seasons, skins, emotes, modes and content that keeps the game refreshing and playable and it makes the game very easy to pick up and put down as the player sees fit. However, the core problem lies less with the game or more of the toxicity of the community and how poorly they behave and Epic's bias towards cheaters regarding streamers reporting them rather than actual players reporting them.

Episode Four of The Walking Dead: The Final Season puts everything at a head and truly shows you where all the choices you've made throughout the season changed your path, and does a phenomenal job of sending off Clementine and AJ at the end of the series.

The Casting of Frank Stone, while one of Supermassive Games' most graphically stunning titles, is made a bad game by its weird story that struggles to remain consistent, its QTE system which was severely underwhelming and did not have much to distinguish and its poor optimization for the current generation of gaming consoles, but it does do its respective Dead by Daylight references very well, referencing various killers and centering around one of the Entity's killers.

Persona 5 Tactica is a spinoff to Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 5 and attempts to dip its toes into the tactical combat genre while utilizing the original Persona system of the main games and it executes it very well. The story is very good and is not hard to grasp, the combat feels very satisfying and respectively challenging at times and the graphics, while basic, look very good.

Brawlhalla is an okay Smash Bros clone with iconic crossover characters and a large roster that can be earned largely for free, but it is throttled by repetitive combat with little variety, bland graphics that, while easily recognized as the Brawlhalla game, are very boring and many microtransactions including pay-to-win crossover characters that can make the game that much more difficult to play if you're treating the game as strictly free-to-play.

Absolutely great game with awesome characters and casting, a great story and beautiful graphics. Easy GOTY 2025 contender, if not winner. Game felt like it was trying to be funny and actually succeeded, the story never felt like it was being throttled and remained consistent throughout all eight episodes, the cast was genuinely funny and likable (for the most part, but I'll get to that) and, despite the game being mostly pre-rendered 3D cutscenes, it looks great and runs well on almost all laptops for a game you'd think would be very demanding. However, the worst part about this game, in all honesty, isn't the semi-repetitive dispatching gameplay (which the game centers itself around when you're not talking to other characters and making huge choices), but the romance options. Father god. The game is inspired by Telltale, but they couldn't even write decent romance options with this fact. The Walking Dead: The Final Season had two romance options, but unlike Dispatch, one was LGBTQ+ and extremely well written. However, here, we have two heterosexual romances backed by some of the worst writing on the planet. Don't get me wrong, Blonde Blazer is a very cool and helpful character, but she's literally only interesting when she isn't present in the game. And Visi is nothing more than just an asthmatic pervert who specializes in disregarding consent and sexually harassing the guy she has a crush on. And by this, I mean, when she appears in the bathroom with Robert to tell him about her wet dream (which you can't opt out of and are forced to sit through at the beginning of Episode 4), disregards his wishes in Episode 5 when he says they can just be friends and kisses him without his consent in Episode 7. An LGBTQ+ romance option would've genuinely been more interesting, hell, even Visi could've been interesting if they hadn't made her so unbelievably gross. I do hope ADHOC learns from this and should they make a season two, make the immensely popular male characters like Waterboy, Flambae or Phenomaman romanceable, or at the very least, make Invisigal behave like a 27-year-old grown woman and not a hypersexual teenager.

The House of the Dead Remake is an okay remake, but honestly falls flat even compared to the original Dreamcast and arcade release. The graphics look better than the original, but not by much. The gameplay also actually feels worse than the original. The shooting didn't shoot where it felt like I was aiming and the frame drops and performance issues were aggressive beyond belief. It's not the worst way to play it, but if you can play the original, you'd be better off doing that since you can usually play it for free. Even though I paid only $2.49 for this version on Switch, I still just don't think it's worth it.

What a pleasant surprise with this game. The song list actually isn't bad for Disney's standards. It picks out songs from popular movies at the time and usually picks out the good songs rather than the bad and gives them very fun choreographies that are made even more fun with friends. The graphics are also shockingly good. The songs are recorded in 1080p and it's very noticable and looks better than mainline game entires and the UI is actually very visually appealing, with cute avatars and good looking backdrops in the main menus (albeit, there is only one). The scoring is also still really good and is also, thankfully, much more lenient with kids which is awesome for younger children who don't understand how to fully accurately hit the moves and beats and just want to dance along and have fun without being overly penalized. If you have family members who enjoy Just Dance (preferably of the younger audience), Just Dance: Disney Party is near perfect but has like very few drawbacks. I would recommend buying it because it's usually dirt cheap for the Xbox 360 and Wii respectively.

I wanted to be shocked that this game wasn't good, but then I saw that Activision and Behaviour Interactive (the creator of the worst online game ever, Dead by Daylight) and the shock faded and the virtual eyerolls kicked in.

Dance Central 2 is the 2nd DC game and boy, does it not disappoint! The songlist is really good, if not one of the best in the series next to VR and DC1. The choreographies are also super fun and easy to get into and practice if you can't get them down, but fares a little poorly compared to DC3's routines, but better than the first game's routines which forced the "Freestyle" mechanic and had much more repetitive routines. The environments are also beautiful and get even prettier once you get a good Flawless/Great streak going, even better than DC3 even (if you take away the Crows map) and it's also the first game to include a story mode which was really good for what it strived for and maintained an appropriate level of immersion for a dancing game. Thankfully, this game is still pretty cheap whether it's a loose, used or CIB copy and pretty accessible for 2025's standards, making it great to get now and play through.

Black Ops 2 has been and more likely than not, always will be, the best Call of Duty games that Activision's released. The gunplay felt good and simple, the leveling didn't feel overwhelming, there was no content you had to stress about missing out on and the graphics still look good. Not the best, but absolutely good to today's standards. And the story wasn't insanely all over the place and confusing like a crap ton of the newer games and it is easily a series-defining entry and one of the most iconic FPS gems and an extremely iconic Xbox game.

Worst battle royale game of all time. Gameplay loop is redundant, tedious and boring, microtransactions are ridiculously evident and seemingly what the game relies on and the game just copies other genuinely good games and makes the game horrifically boring.
