Companion

Companion ultimately delivers on three levels. It’s a creepy (and occasionally bloody, and also funny) thriller. It’s a whodunit, or maybe a whatdunit. And it’s a philosophical door-opener into questions to ask of ourselves when it comes to our computational creations — what to make of them, whether and how much to feel for them, whether we owe them anything.

Bathed in a pink-pop glow, its pastiche of romance and horror collide in a viciously mischievous parable of technology and control that speaks to these most anxious times.

One of the things that really makes “Companion” more entertaining than it might otherwise have been is the strength of the supporting cast. Gage and Guillén are particularly good as a mismatched couple who discover more about each other during the admittedly eventful stay at the cabin.

An exciting, intentional ride that never resorts to cheap thrills, instead keeping its story grounded in this day and age's most pertinent topics: lonely men and AI.

Hancock’s film is not revolutionary nor particularly thoughtful past the outline of its concept. Regardless, it’s an enjoyable romp in the sci-fi horror sphere.

The ongoing sight of a blood-soaked Thatcher finding herself through violent confrontations, essentially figuring out on the fly whether she’s a Terminator or a Final Doll, is diverting enough. Her melancholic presence hints at the trippier, more genuinely unsettling horror movie this could have pivoted into. It’s also a reminder of how facile the rest of the movie really is.

For a film about advanced technology, it’s all awfully simple.

One of the best films so far in 2025, the acting is great from start to finish, the story is told so well. The foreshadowing in the beginning of the movie is done very well overall this is a classic.

Visualmente suave e acolhedor, Companion cria uma atmosfera confortável, mas a narrativa sofre com uma guinada abrupta que prejudica a fluidez. A reflexão sobre IA e tecnologia é válida, porém rasa e apresentada **** desfecho, apesar de esforçado, não convence completamente, deixando a sensação de uma história que poderia ter sido mais coesa.Ainda assim, a abordagem humana traz alguns pontos positivos que valem a atenção.

Visually, it is a nice movie, and I love the main character. Unfortunately, the dialogue was quite cringy when attempting to be deep. It is like a **** version of Black Mirror
