Killzone: Mercenary
9
User Scorehuss2215
Dec 26, 2013
Graphics: Best VITA graphics to date. 10. Sound: Missing that Killzone theme that stands out, voice acting is good, gun sounds, and enemy death sounds are killzone. 9. Gameplay: The best FPS on the handheld device, multiplayer feels like the classic Killzone it should feel like. The campaign has a new arsenal of weapons and gadgets at your disposal. Great game, never feels repetitive, this is the best it’s going to get on the VITA. 10. Story: The story was good, it didn't really feel like it filled in a gap in the Killzone universe but it does connect to it. No amazing plot twists, although there is one in particular. You’re a mercenary set out to do missions for money, the game does have its surprises, and it’s good. 8. Replay Value: Plenty to do here, 9 mission campaigns, never ending multiplayer, collectibles, worth it, probably the best game on VITA out now. 10. Overall Score: 9.4 out of 10.

Graphics: These are horrible graphics ported from the Wii, and they still don’t look HD. RE1 on gamecube looks better than this. Although, it is still playable and decent on the eyes. 6. Sound: Corny voice acting, that’s not nemesis crapcom, nice knowable RE themes. Average at best. 6. Gameplay: Rail shooter, very slow paced, fun for a while, quickly gets old. Difficulty spikes are really tough but it’s because the game expects you to play levels over and over to upgrade weapons and get higher level rankings. Some of the levels don’t even unlock unless you get an A rank on some. But these are optional missions but still play a part in the main story. I finished them off but forced myself as it felt like a chore. 6. Story: It’s a nice piece of story although they don’t follow the actual events properly. Nemesis is trash in this game, the guy that designed him and voiced him needs to get punched in the face. The extra story’s for Vincent are nice, and never before seen, Rebecca’s scenes as well. 8. Replay Value: Plenty to replay although it will feel like a chore. The game is about 8 hours with the optional missions it should take up to 12 hours. 8. Overall Score: 6.8 out of 10.

Graphics: Amazing, some of the best on next gen, but still not. 9.5. Sound: Amazing soundtrack, great voice acting. 10. Gameplay: The game mixes in elements from the old AC games but adds in a ton of “sea gameplay”. In this game you get to sail the seas as a pirate plunder ships for treature/materials, the ship gameplay has been advanced from AC3. The majority of the game takes place on the sea and the game is actually made difficult. For example you need to plunder ships to upgrade your jackdaw ship to continue on the sequences so they’re not as tough. The games multiplayer is similar to the previous games, but it is still very fun and addicting, although I felt AC3 wasn't as glitchy. The singleplayer also has issues connecting to uplay servers, making it a pain for those that want to access the in-game fleet, or those hoping to get annoying trophies like sharing is caring. Typical UBI-Glitch for ya. The game is good the features are glitchy. 9. Story: The story is great, and the new character Edward is likeable more than Connor to most, he will feel like the character with charm, and gives the game the right balance it needed for a while. The story unfolds in a predictable way, but also this game does not feel like an AC game and could have been a standalone pirate game. The out of animus story never really progresses, leaving more cliffhangers and disappointments. Average story. 7 Replay Value: Tons of stuff no doubt. The game itself can take from 12-20 hours to complete plus there’s multiplayer, and tons of collectibles/side missions. 10. Overall Score: 9.1 out of 10.

Graphics: Somewhat lacking environments, good character models, amazing water, great lighting. 9. Sound: Classic Uncharted themes, and professional voice actors. 10. Gameplay: For an Uncharted game it does a good job utilizing the Vita, and adding new gameplay mechanics such as touch, and motion camera controls. The puzzles are a highlight in this Vita title. The gun-play gets boring throughout the beginning but the game picks up at the middle to end, making it an enjoyable Uncharted game (even though this isn't as great as the console titles). 9. Story: The story is interesting in some ways but it’s not the best in the Uncharted series. Although I was surprised to see a character in the game I never expected to see. It’s also a great origins story to the Uncharted series. 9. Replay Value: The game lasts about 8 or more hours with collectibles, the game is free for plus, and if you own a Vita I highly recommend this game. 10. Overall Score: 9.4 out of 10.

Graphics: Best graphics to date, alongside BF3. 10. Sound: Gun sounds check, voice acting check, voice actors unchecked. Possibly the worst reaction I have seen in a game where a kid witnesses his father die (in the beginning). Just terrible, and terribly voiced. Other than that Helghast sounded great. The music/theme was excellent, definitely the great Killzone theme. 8.5. Gameplay: Multiplayer is back! Feels much better than part 3, and on similar ground to part 2. The campaign feels more open, giving you objectives to do at your leisure. The objectives are sometimes hard to spot. There’s a whole level that’s basically a puzzle. Overall the campaign was enjoyable but the previous Killzone 3 was overall just better. 8.5. Story: Like the gameplay the pacing is good but the overall execution isn’t as good as the previous. 8.5. Replay Value: 8-10 hour campaign, and multiplayer that is better than Call of Duty Ghosts. I’d recommend this as an excellent launch title for your PS4. 10. Overall Score: 9.1 out of 10.

Sound: Known sly character voices overs which are good, theme songs that match in with the sneaking gameplay. Nothing that really stands out though. Still great! 8.5. Gameplay: Excellent stealth platforming, this was definitely a hit when it first hit the PS2 and it still holds up today. The sequels do a great job expanding an already expanded game. 9. Story: It was a good story, had a great ending, some type of romance as well. 9. Replay Value: Cheap price, worth getting, extras for collectibles, main game around 6 hours. 10. Graphics: They actually look really amazing, and for the first time LBP is in 3D (game play wise). 10. Sound: Great themes while racing, feels like a karting game. 10. Gameplay: This is a karting game that can be compared to a Mario Kart game although there isn't’t much of a sense of speed in the karts. There are additional speed boosters while racing but the karts themselves don’t feel as great as they should. All in all it’s a great karting game on Sony’s platform, and the creation goes beyond imagination. Some of the user content is at its best with creative new ideas (like a time traveling level), and classic levels found in Mario Kart. The game’s story is short but at a perfect length for a Karting game, and it does a great job mixing things up (race, battle arena, boss fight, etc.). This game is great but it still does have its flaws. 8. Story: Very simple, but uninteresting. 5. Replay Value: There’s definitely a lot to do in this game, single player, multiplayer, co-op, battle challenges, it’s definitely a purchase if you know that’s the experience you want, a karting game. 10. Dec 26, 2013
Graphics: The graphics are a step up from the last generation consoles, but it isn’t the best on the PS4. It is still without a doubt the best looking Call of Duty game, but compared to Battlefield 4 and Killzone Shadow Fall it still falls short to really impress. 8.5. Sound: The soundtrack featuring Eminem is a nice addition, the gun sounds actually sound more realistic than the previous MW3 title. The voice acting is average but nothing spectacular, some of the dialog may seem kind of dull. The tactics in the voice acting (during gameplay) seems professional, its just some of the main characters that may sound corny at times. 9. Gameplay: This is by far the best campaign I have played, not the best story experience, but indeed the best scripted events in a Call of Duty game. The levels do a great job of providing enough action, and stealth gameplay, it’s a good mix that keeps you interested in playing the campaign. The multiplayer side is Call of Duty, it seems very similar to previous titles, and only the guns feel slightly different. The game modes, new characters, and even a new extinction mode (like a zombies mode), but still its very similar to past Call of Duty titles. With that said, COD has had its formula and it is very popular which is why each year’s addition will only seem minor changes. 9.5. Story: The story is your average die hard action game, or comparison to the movie industry, a popcorn flick. It can leave you on the edge of your seat or just in complete boredom. For me, I enjoyed it, there were corny parts but it ended on a strong note. 9. Replay Value: Campaign seemed a little longer than the previous COD games (I play all COD’s on veteran), it was definitely easier, but also very fun. Multiplayer is still the arcady COD gameplay that can be addicting. Spec Ops doesn't’t see a return but survival (now known as squads), and a new extinction mode (which looks like the developers will be building on that, probably through DLC). I can recommend this game to any COD fan, if you know COD, you know why you’re purchasing this game, and it will be worth the experience you want. 10. Overall Score: 9.2 out of 10.

Graphics: The graphics are average, and could use improvement. 7. Sound: Some classic Tony Hawk soundtracks along with some new ones. A lot of original songs are still missing from the classic Tony Hawk games. If you're creating an HD remake a developer needs to bring back all of the great moments not some of them. 8. Gameplay: The game plays like the old classic Tony Hawk games (mainly the first one on PS), but some of the mechanics are broken. Such as grinding will sometimes glitch a player inside the ramp causing a bail. Other improvements in previous Tony Hawk game were not brought back to this game such as re-positioning the skater when flying off of a ramp, instead you always land on your head. Sometimes your manuals don't continuously continue causing the combo move to end, and it can be annoying when you're out of time in a session and want to continue your moves. Other than that this is still a good step forward, although only still an average one. 7. Story: N/A Replay Value: Great game, cheap price, good for fans of Tony Hawk games, but to new players I cannot recommend, try before buy if possible. 7. Overall Score: 7.3 out of 10.

Graphics: I don't really have to talk about this now do I? These are next generation graphics! 10. Sound: Realistic guns, environments, great soundtrack, voice acting is excellent. 10. Gameplay: The game plays very similar to Battlefield 3 with a more tactical feel, and a more serious tone to the single player campaign. The guns feel realistic, the hit detection on enemies is improved. Unlimited sprinting, and sprinting while reloading. All types of vehicles which are fun to control and play a great part in the campaign. The campaign has more action, and better scripted events than the previous BF. The multiplayer consists of huge player battles, and the maps seem a lot better than Battlefield 3. This is one of the perfect FPS's on the market. Compared to COD, this is more of a realistic shooter rather than an arcade shooter. The single player was just way too short even on the hardest difficulty, but BF games are known for their multiplayer experience. 9.5. Story: The game plays out like a scripted hollywood movie, and while I did enjoy the story's progression, it quickly falls short and dull, and the choice at the end is just ridiculous. We all wanted to go in ourselves. With that said, the emotions that they try to put in this game are just looked passed, and not given much thought. The characters seem interesting but the short campaign doesn't allow enough time to feel familiar with these characters which also makes the endings decision not much of an impact. 7. Replay Value: Short campaign, but endless multiplayer. Co-op is no longer apart of the package, I would still recommend this game for people who enjoy endless unscripted multiplayer battles. 8.5. Overall Score: 9 out of 10..

Graphic: A graphical improvement from WWE13 some wrestlers look more realistic while others look like clay figures. Still an advancement in the engine, and everything else looks believable. 9. Sound: Similar to WWE13's attitude era, the 30 years of Wrestlemania mode has voices clips used from the show. They sync in just fine and it makes the game feel more like a WWE game. The soundtrack is once again entrance music, and some of the music cuts, but finally this game allows for custom soundtracks on the PS3. 8.5. Gameplay: The gameplay mechanics from WWE13 return and are definitely improved. The pinning is improved and simpler. The in game WWE history events are much more interesting, and the wrestling moves are as realistic as the show. The reversing still annoys me because sometimes the timing says I'm off but I know I hit it on time, online it doesn't help when there's lag. The game still needs dedicated servers, but other than that this truly is a superb wrestling game. 9. Story: 30 years of Wrestlemania, and new modes such as defeat/defend the streak. This game is an improvement from last years Attitude Era. Although more Wrestling footage would have been appreciated especially at the last few matches. Every match in my opinion should show a hype up trailer of real footage, such as the rivalry between the wrestlers. 8. Replay Value: While the Wrestlmania mode is short, the game has a lot of replay value for a local party game. Also, multiplayer never gets old, I would recommend this game to any wrestling fan. Definitely one of the best rosters in any wrestling game to date. 10. Overall Score: 8.9 out of 10.

Graphics: COD’s graphics are becoming outdated, they need a new engine, but at times they still look good. 8.0. Sound: Realistic gun sound, voice actors are good, nothing to complain about. 10. Gameplay: Shooting feels unrealistic, it’s like shooting at paper, multiplayer is the same as every year, shoot kill, respawn. Some of the new gadgets are interesting, and the futuristic weapons are nice. Even some new scripted elements are enjoyable. The levels are well structured and are fun to play, and the campaign does mix it up. Zombies are back which are always fun. Side missions are added in the campaigns which are similar to a strategy game, although you could take control of each squad. Besides the game feeling the same, it still fun, and it still works. 9.0. Story: The story is ****, skips from scene to scene, and leaves the player in confusion on how they can jump around like it’s a transitional music video. At first the game is interesting, but as it unfolds you quickly realize its attempt is stupid. There are different choices you can make throughout the game which effect the ending, but if you make the wrong choices your only left with plot holes, and annoyance at a horribly executed Call of Duty game. They tried to hard, and failed at it, also the developers lied about the game feeling like a sandbox and having the ability to fly around to missions, its all done in menu’s 6.5. Lasting Appeal: Despite the **** Hollywood action story, the game is still worth it with all the content. The season pass on the other hand is not, and you’re a ****ing moron if you buy the maps. Other season passes go for about 35 bucks, COD goes for 50 bucks, you Activision. They have discounted it from previous COD games where it would cost 60 bucks, so if you do get a hard on from COD map packs then go ahead and buy them. 10. Overall Score: 8.7 out of 10.

Gameplay: The gameplay has been refined to modern day controls with a cover system that works the best that I’ve seen so far, but still retains the old Hitman formula. Each mission is tackled in various ways all up to the player to decide. Stealth plays a major role in this game, making run and gunning an option but very difficult. This isn’t the best Hitman game I’ve played but it is one hell of an amazing game, gametrailers for their false review. 9.5. Story: Your back in business and your first task is to assassinate Diana, but she leaves you a request to take care ****, and you go through all you can to meet her request. Along the way you run into some hilarious characters, and other interesting villains which make assassinating them a joy. While the story isn’t the greatest, it still keeps an interested vibe to keep pushing the game forward. 9.0. Gameplay: It feels more accessible, the controls seem to have changed similar to Cod. Although it’s still the Halo flavor, and the online is still competitive and better than other FPS shooters. The game adds newer promethean weapons which I had a blast with; it’s a really polished Halo title, and probably the best yet. Biggest disappointment, no boss battles! Also, the gameplay is mainly fun in co-op, solo would need more of a mix up. 8.5. Story: The story is much more interesting than any of the previous Halo’s but that’s not saying much. Master Chief is back, new planet, new species, new main boss enemy, but disappointing ending. 8.0. As soon as you get to Act 2 it starts feeling like a chore. To hit level 60 you must complete the game on all difficulty settings previous to inferno. After, there are now newly added paragon levels which are just programmed for the dedicated player. I enjoyed the game, it’s something different than what I normally play, but it is very repetitive. 8.5. Story: The story is average, I can’t really say much without giving out spoilers. 7.0. The game never seems to work when trying to summon, or be summoned, their PVP system never worked for me, and invading seems to work the best yet there are many hackers. Besides that, I really enjoy the expansion which lasts about 3 extra hours long, 3 new bosses, 1 can be missed. Newer spells, 1 which is overpowered, newer items, and weapons that can be forged from new boss souls. The story is interesting, but never really dives the player deep into it. You see a younger Wolf Sif, but you may miss the story behind it, and may need to resort to the Wiki to find out the details. Overall Score: 8.0 out of 10.

The creatures looked okay but in no way were they Silent Hill creatures. 8.5. Sound: It felt like Silent Hill, creepy, nice themes, annoying creatures. 10. Gameplay: The combat **** it’s completely **** and it just doesn’t work well. You get mobbed up with enemies and your only choice is to run. The gun mechanics are also terrible, and sometimes you shoot a creature and there’s no hit detection. Exploring and puzzles are the only gameplay aspects that work in this title. 6.5. Story: The story is decent but the way it’s told or the direction it plays out is absolutely terrible. There are scenes where you end up falling through a long hole and the scene skips where your fine. It would be okay to do this once, but it is done multiple times. A scene where you’re attacked along with the 2 others in the same room was by far the worst cut scene I have ever witnessed in a Silent Hill game. The overall execution of the story depends on the dull choices you make throughout the game, as well as how many side missions you complete (if I remember correctly). No thought put into the boss battles, and the chasing black hole is what I consider laziness by the developers. 5.5. Lasting Appeal: This is a disgrace to all the other Silent Hill games, but it can still be enjoyed. I would only recommend it as a rental. 6.0. Overall Score: 7.3 out of 10.

Graphics: Gear has been updated, new mounts look good, more lighting, the game constantly upgrades even though this expansion hasn’t seen the most. WoW still has amazing graphics for its artistic style. New environments look good as well. 10. Sound: Amazing new themes that put a new kung-fu sound to WoW. 10. Gameplay: The game does a good job of mixing up its quests so that they don’t feel like a chore. Not many new gameplay elements were added in this title, and raiding seems more casual than before, as well as the heroics when you first hit 90. The game remains similar to previous expansions with this one having more of a focus on gaining rep just to buy gear. New battlegrounds are a nice mix taking a page from Rift’s library, and a cart mode that I like to compare with Team Fortress, although the carts always move and it’s more like a king of the hill/carts. New hero class added, look out for panda monks! 10. Story: The focus of this expansion dives real deep in this expansion, too much to explain, I wasn’t to particularly interested, but lore fans won’t be disappointed. 10. Lasting Appeal: Worth the hours you get! 10. Overall Score: 10 out of 10.

Graphics: The games graphics do look great, with nice lighting and good character design. It’s Still not the best, especially for a 2007 game. Some of the environment looks unrealistic like the plants for example have no sense of life to them, overall though it still looks good. 8. Sound: Amazing calming themes, and great voice acting. 10. Gameplay: The gameplay is unique because it’s different from any game that I have played before. For starters the combat system is what makes this game unique. You have three different stances and different weapons which each are for particular type of enemies. Say your fighting a short dwarf, a stance changed to the hip would allow you to kill that particular enemy quicker, and if there’s a taller or bigger enemy that is attacking then a stance change where the witcher holds the sword above his head would be required. Now it’s not free combat where you just freely swing your weapon around. Instead you click on an enemy and the witcher begins to attack, then the arrow lights up and you must time your clicks with the mouse to keep the flow of combat going. Though this is something new, at times it feels overused and begins to get boring. Althought its always satisfying to switch to the lowest stance and hit enemies that surround you. The game is also a open world game similar to the elder scrolls games, but instead broken into chapter with each new chapter taking you to a newer area, or expanding on a previous one. The game is also similar to mass effect with conversation, and even allows you to make several choices which make an impact on the story. You can also develop relationships with characters such as romance, and earn sex cards for doing so. The leveling system is simple and there are plenty of skills to go through, although some may find it complex at first. The game allows for professions such as alchemy. 9. Story: I got lost trying to keep up with the story, because in the beginning its boring, but as you progress through the game, and near the end, it is satisfying. The game ends with a cliff hanger. 9. Lasting Appeal: Took me about 18 hours to complete the game, it’s definitely worth the 5 or 10 bucks I bought it from a steam sale (can’t remember exact price). 10. Overall Score: 9.2 out of 10.

Graphics: The graphics aren’t the best I’ve seen, but they still look pretty damn good. 9. Sound: Nice soundtrack, good voice acting, the games guns sounds are okay not the best, and there’s minor grenade explosions, and other destruction sounds that aren’t realistic. 8.5. Gameplay: The game is an fps that may seem like a watered down version of Call of Duty, but it can actually hold its own ground. There’s a great mix up of gameplay from linear shoot em up type missions, to stealth missions, vehicle driving, and on rails helicopter battles. Some guns feel unrealistic, while some are good. It has the typical controls you’d expect from an FPS, it isn’t the greatest fps, but it is still worth a playthrough (sp). The multiplayer is fun but this is where the watered down version kicks in. Supposedly it’s done by DICE yet it doesn’t feel as good as their battlefield series. There aren’t any destructible environments, and it feels like an old days FPS shooter. It is still fun, but there are so many other options out that one may look the other way for Medal of Honor. 8. Story: The story is okay, it’s based on real life undercover military that are hidden away watching Taliban activity. You’ll find yourself slowly boring away, but some characters can be memorable but they are easily forgotten. The game tries to create sad moments but never really impacts the player. A lesson may need to be learned from Call of Duty when it comes to impact/controversy. 6.5. Lasting Appeal: The games singleplayer is very short, you can beat it in 2 sittings if you went all out. There is multiplayer but it isn’t the best. I can recommend this game but there are better options out there. 7. Overall Score: 7.8 out of 10.

Graphics: Environments looked great, so did the character design, although some characters look decent, and some of the environment looks decent. 8. Sound: Good voice acting, nice soundtrack, but rarely does anything ever stand out. 8. Gameplay: The gameplay is as fun and challenging as the first game. There are new powers besides lightning such as ice. The game feels a little too similar to the first game but with some newly added features. The gameplay is mixed up a little, adding puzzles and different types of missions. Overall the game is excellent, and challenging. The boss battles were really fun, but I’d still say the first infamous had a much better last boss. 9.5. Story: The story is about getting enough power to take on the beast. There are still good and evil choices throughout the game, this time companions are in the mix, making it more interesting. The overall story isn’t as impacted as the first game but it still keeps your attention. 9. Lasting Appeal: The game is worth it if you bought this game expecting to do everything. I’d still recommend a play through of this game, and it does have more replay value for a second play through making different choices. 10. Overall Score: 8.9 out of 10.

Graphics: Not the best looking graphics, but they are still amazing. 9.5. Sound: Amazing soundtrack. 10. Gameplay: The gameplay is amazing, it feels like an old school shooter, sandbox, strategy, flight, everything in one package type game. Shooting at enemies is probably the only con I have with this game, it takes forever, and it’s a little tough to position the aimer since the camera is over the shoulder. The game doesn’t have a cover system, which I think is a good thing. Cover-systems are not a new revolution, games with cover need to stop and go back to the old school way. It works with games like Gears/Uncharted, but it is not needed in Star Hawk. Anyway, the multiplayer is possibly one of the best experiences I have ever had. You could call this game playstations Halo, but in third person. It even jumps the extra mile and has 10x better space combat then Halo Reach had, which was so hyped before release. Anyway, the gameplay is brilliant. You have the option of building bunkers, jetpacks, hawks, turrets, a whole base, which gives it that star craft feel. There’s too much I could go on about for this game, but its best told in players hands. 9.5. Story: The story wasn’t too interesting, it was average at best. 7. Graphics: The graphics are starting to look a little out dated but there are moments where they look amazing. Mostly when there’s blue lighting. 9.0. Sound: Professional Bioware voice acting as you know it, themes were great. 10. Gameplay: The gameplay feels a little more casual than usual, although it is very similar to Mass Effect 2 (at least for my character). RPG elements are similar, but the game doesn’t need any tweaks, it seems just fine. The problem with the gameplay is that it gets way to repetitive, and I went ahead and did every mission available. It feels like a chore at times, and some moments that are meant to be scripted events, look only decent. In my opinion they should have left the scripted events to the professionals at Naughty Dog, but there are still okay moments, but nothing that will drop you out of your seat. Mass Effect 2 was better in almost every way. The way the game builds relationships is a lot more strict than in the previous game. Still with some of those cons, Mass Effect 3’s gameplay is still a must play, especially those like myself who transferred their saves since the first title. 8.5. Story: The story was a pretty good story, and near the ending it did get ridiculous but it was still okay. I didn’t really understand all the outrage just because of the ending, it was still a proper way to end a trilogy assuming that was Biowares goal. 8.0. Lasting Appeal: The game is still worth the buy, I clocked almost 30hours, doing everything. 10. Overall Score: 9.1 out of 10.

Graphics: Realistic graphics, sometimes the shadows make it look ugly, but the character models look great too. 9.5. Sound: Decent soundtrack (I wasn’t into the music near the end, didn’t feel that was the right band like Rockstar claimed back on GTTV). The themes were excellent, the voice acting was great. 9. Gameplay: The game is more realistic than previous Max Payne titles, but I did still get the feeling that it was a Max Payne game. Bullet time is great, all the guns are fine, the aiming is challenging but in a good way. The only complaint is the constant switching of shoulders, but I think there’s an option to turn that off. Challenging game good, gametrailers-reviewers noobs. Euphoria engine looks at its best. The multiplayer I found unbalance, unrealistic, and just not my type of shooter. 9. Story: The story plays out at a slow pace, it keeps you interested for a while, but near the end it’s not as interesting. I enjoyed playing the past sequences more than the present day because I felt the present day ones were going nowhere in terms of Max’s story. Max is in a field where he doesn’t belong, and even though it is hinted, this didn’t make it any more interesting. The switch from comic scenes to in game cut scene was fine, I enjoyed it. The inner thoughts of Max Payne are brilliant, who doesn’t have their brain always talking to them? 8.5. Lasting Appeal: The game is a must play at least once, there are achievements and a multiplayer for those interested. Personally, I would recommend this game a rent for those wanting a single player only experience. The game took about 8-10 hours on hard for me to complete. 8. Overall Score: 8.8 out of 10.

Graphics: The graphics are definetly an improved compared to the previous game, and the blood couldn’t look any better. Character models look smooth, environments look okay. It’s not the best looking game out, but it still looks great. 9. Sound: The soundtrack has some moments but overall it’s not as good as the themes from Dragon Age origins. 9. Gameplay: The gameplay is an improvement from the previous game, but also some elements are missing. It plays similar to Dragon Age origins but a lot faster paced, and casual. The mechanics are much more fluid, meaning every hit is now more realistic, and the spells look a lot more action packed. Some of the new specs are great and like Origins I played a rogue, and the gameplay felt much better and more simplified (one of the reasons for the hate of this game). I enjoyed every last moment of the game, and I highly recommend this title. This is an excellent sequel but it does have its fall points. Unlike origins, when you meet a group of enemies and you kill all of them on screen, the game feels the need of spawning more enemies that drop in from random spots around you. This makes the game more frustrating and annoying. Another fall point is the fact that every place you travel is within and around Kirkwall, meaning you will revisit the same areas over and over again, and the funny thing is, the maps become undiscovered even though you fully explored it 3 times earlier. 9. Story: I enjoyed the story of Dragon Age 2, and I did import all of my decisions from the previous DA:origins/awakening/witch hunt, and you get the idea. It is amazing how moments in the game you meet up with familiar faces. Bioware has always been known for its fantastic storytelling, and connect from a previous game to the next. Only one fall point was that in Origins I never recruited or interacted with Leliana, and in Dragon Age 2 supposedly she helped the hero of Feraldin. The game follows Hawke instead of your previous imported character, which could also be a fall point, but the fact that Hawke is an amazing character, makes this acceptable. The story always progresses nicely, although you never know your main end game goal, just playing through the story is quite fun. The ending leaves room from a 3rd, and I cannot wait. 9. Lasting Appeal: Definitely worth getting, I bought the game and played all the expansions as well, definitely worth playing Mark of the Assassin and Legacy. The exiled prince is also a nice addition to the story. I won’t separate them into impressions because they aren’t known as other campaign like DA:Origins had it. Either way if you haven’t played this game, it is worth getting. 10. Overall Score: 9.2 out of 10.

Graphics: Updated new engine which looks absolutely wonderful. Environments, whether change, character models, character movement, are all superb. Although this is the second time they changed the character models, Desmond and the gang look different than in previous games. Nothing really to complain about, they still looked like an upgrade. 10. Sound: The games theme fits with the time it takes place in (during the American Revolution), and the voice acting is good. 10. Gameplay: The gameplay has also changed, but it is still somewhat similar but in a good way. No longer do you have to hold x while sprinting. Anyway, the game mechanics now allow for a larger sandbox feel. You can now climb around in trees, hunt animals, and various extras that turn Assassins Creed 3 into the new Skyrim. The combat system is a lot more challenging and feels a lot better than in previous games. Counter takes timing, and stronger foes won't go down just with a counter, you may have to tap x to break their defense first. Still, the combat is still simple once you're used to it. Missions now are a variety, and no longer repetitive. Also, the game adds naval battles, which is really stunning, and they mix it in very well, never making it feel like a chore. 10. Story: The story unravels quite well, and isn't as predictable. The game still features the main storyline with Desmond, and adds a new animus storyline featuring a Native American named Connor. The games ending is strong, but still in a way that can leave more in the franchise to dish out. Still, it was a superb game from start to finish. Well actually the first 3 or 4 acts were slow, but give the game time, and when it starts it continues to be entertaining. 10. Lasting Appeal: Buy the game, lasts about 10-12 hours only the story missions, plus theres a bunch of side stories (came with the PS3 version), and extras to collect. 10. Overall Score: 10 out of 10.

Graphics: Some of the best graphics seen on the PC. 10. Sound: Catchy background themes/soundtrack, the voice acting is weak though. The gun sounds are okay. 7.5. Gameplay: Huge sandbox game with the world being one of the biggest in gaming. The game is like Just Cause, or a GTA type game but probably has the most freedom ever in the game. You get a grappling hook, unlimited parachutes, stunts similar to pursuit force on PC but much better. The gun play and shooting mechanics are good, but could definitely feel better. The game is built on a chaos mechanic; cause enough chaos to unlock each Act, stronghold mission, or faction mission. There are different factions where you do side quests. This game is superb. 9.5. Story: This is probably the weakest point of the game but still average. Your sent in to kill your old employer from the first part, but things take a turn and you find out the truth, and so on so forth it’s really not too interesting but again average. 7.5. Graphics: Not the best, but they still look amazing on PC. Physics could be much better. 9.5. Sound: Gun sounds are okay, voice acting is okay, no memorable themes, environment sounds are good. 8. Gameplay: The game feels like it has the Call of Duty controls mixed with a Half-Life experience. Singularity does have its own legs to stand on. The game features a neat time travel mechanic using the singularity device attached to the players arm. You can use it to manipulate objects, and enemies in the environment. It’s set on basic objects, and doesn’t give you the freedom to mess with anything, but it’s still something new brought to the table. The game is linear and as the player progresses you run into flashbacks, and even end up time traveling. The game does a good job mixing time periods together. The boss battles are fun, but easy to figure out. The enemies in the game consist of soldiers, and mutated creatures which are at times challenging to take down. The game features a multiplayer mode which I could not test out because the game is dead. I can’t find much flaws with the game other than the fact that it needs a better variety of enemies, and the gameplay in general needs better guns, maybe melee weapons too, and environments that don’t feel like you’re just walking in a straight path, and puzzles that don’t always consist of just manipulating one object just to get to the next objective. There should have been puzzles which are challenging and use actual physics. Singularity is still a new and fun experience that lasts as a thrill ride. 9. Story: The story is actually really interesting. Without giving much away, I’ll just say that in the beginning you end up time traveling to a point where you save a man from a burning building who ends up being the main villain in the game. Throughout the game you time travel uncovering more information about the Singularity, and the game leads to an ending which is in the hands of the player. The game leaves on a strong note leaving fans in hope that Activision intends to take a break from Call of Duty and allows Raven to work on a sequel. The story is pretty straight forward and does have a twist, but for some reason I already sort of knew what happened, and the game presents it as some crazy twist. Other portions of the story can be read through notes, records found throughout the game and writings on the wall. The game isn’t the greatest video game story, but it is still a great experience. 9. Lasting Appeal: Got the game for about 5-7 bucks from a Steam sale and I’d say at that price it is worth it. I think it’s selling for 30 bucks right now, and due to the length of the game, I’d recommend waiting on another sale. The game lasts about 6-7 hours. I’d still recommend this game to be played through at least once. 9.5. Overall Score: 9 out of 10.

Graphics: The graphics look great; each character appears to look exactly like the actual games they represent, except for drake, the image of his face looks kind of different. Other than that the environments look great, although sometimes while battling I lost view of where my character was at. The game isn’t the best looking game but it definitely does shine. 8.5. Sound: Amazing sound track, voices acting is there, meaning the correct ones (at least I think) for each character. Reuses of original game sound track are great. 10. Gameplay: Similar to Nintendo’s smash, although PlayStation all-stars has its own legs. Only problem is the game has no damage, you continually attack an opponent just to build a super. You can build up to an x3 super which pretty much allows you to kill off everyone on screen. The only problem with this is that not every character is balanced; some characters can get more kills with x3 or even lower super gauges. While it seems like they were designed to be balanced by having some characters build up a super faster, it still feels unbalanced. There are still the over powered characters, and as for the roster it is really good, but a lot more classical PlayStation characters, and multiplatform characters could be there. Overall the game is still a great party game, and an excellent multiplayer game with a good ranking system in which you actually level down. 8.5. Story: This is the worst part about the game, the story is lacking a lot. There are certain moments in the arcade portion (one in-game cut scene to be exact) which are fun to watch is, and they should have added more of these. 5. Lasting Appeal/Value: Worth it if you’re a fan of PlayStation/fighting games similar to Nintendo’s smash bros. Graphics: Graphics still look amazing but compared to the first not much has changed. There are still far better looking games on the PS3. 9. Sound: Great themes, level design goes great with themes. Voice acting is great. 10. Gameplay: Same as Bioshock 1 but with more attachments. There are different weapons, and different enemies that are stronger to take down, and especially this time around with the big sisters. The game is actually a great challenge on the medium difficulty setting, and requires you to rescue/harvest little sisters to gain enough adam for upgrades. The new feature, now that you’re playing as a big daddy, is that you can choose to harvest dead enemies to gain additional adam. The issue with this is that every time you do this it spawns a wave of enemies that attack, and you have to defend the little sister while she harvests the body. It’s a really cool new game play feature although near the ending of the game it just gets way to difficult, and the reason is because the game doesn’t provide enough ammunition so I found myself at some points skipping the harvest and just taking the little sisters straight to the vent. Also, at times I would clear an area and step foot into another area, and head back that same second only to find splicers respawning. Bioshock 1 felt more organized when having you face splicers, while Bioshock 2 seemed to make it much more linear in the process, adding more and more splicers to constantly tackle making it feel too chore-y. Overall the game was a big challenge which is a positive, although I was frustrated with the amount of supplies that you get. The levels are structured really well, and the story continually progresses. The boss battles aren’t anything special, some have you clear out all the splicers only to battle the boss which looks similar to a splicer only with a huge health buff. The game doesn’t end with a strong memorable boss battle like the first game, instead takes a cheap wave fight. 8.5. Story: The story is as well written as the first game, the pacing and twist aren’t as great as the first, but the ending leaves on a strong note also like the first game. You play as the very first Big Daddy (Delta), and the story unfolds from start to finish. 9.0. Lasting Appeal/Value: The game contains a multiplayer that is decent/okay at best, the original game clocks in at about 8-10 hours on medium. The price for this game is free for PSPlus, and I’ve gotten this game on steam for like $5 bucks before. I’d say it’s worth getting. 10. Overall Score: 9.3 out of 10.
