Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier is a solid third person shooter from Ubisoft. To start off with lets talk about the story. The story is about as generic and uninspired as it gets in shooters, but that's more of a bonus for a shooter to have a good story. Onto more important aspects the gameplay is exceptional, the controls and cover system are very fluid, similiar to Gears of War. The guns are spectacular, there's a wide array of them they sound great and have accurate stats. The Gunsmith is amazing, it is hands down the best weapon customization feature in games, literally customize every aspect of the weapon, and suit it to your play style. More on gameplay: the game as advertised, has great stealth sequences and awesome straight up gun fights. A really cool feature is the sync shot where you mark enemies and silently take as many as four enemies down at once with the help of your squad. Onto guerilla mode, is is well executed and enjoyable, when playing with friends its a blast, but playing solo the enemies swarm and rush you and it is incredibly frustrating. Onto multiplayer, it is such a shame that a game with such solid gameplay could have such poor multiplayer. Here's a handful of problems 1. Spawn Camping: on most maps there are only two or so ways to leave the spawn, so the enemy will go prone and mow you down the second you come out of the gate. 2. Camping: this is a whole other issue than spawn camping because enemies will camp objective and high-traffic areas and rack up kills. 3. 6 maps: this multiplayer has around half a dozen maps, that is completely unacceptable and the maps get so boring so fast. 4. TWO MODES: this multiplayer has two goddamn modes in it, no deathmatch no team deathmatch, just a domination type game and another game mode that no one is ever playing. Finally 5. OP weapons: half the weapons in this game will tear you to shreds in an instant almost every other time I'm killed is by an a-hole with an over-gassed Vector or F2000. But wait theres one more major complaint, the UPlay passport, so I pay for my internet, and on top of that you have Xbox Gold, and on top of that you have another fee just to level past 5. Ubisoft has to learn this "business practice" is completely unacceptable and I will not purchase their games if this trend continues. So in conclusion this game has solid mechanics, good campaign, good guerilla mode and absolute piss-poor multiplayer.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky

I knew from the start Clear sky wouldn't live up to its predecessor. To rate this game I'm going to start at 5 and add or remove 1 or 2 points depending on how well that aspect is done. First off the gameworld of the Chernobyl is very important to the game. But it wasn't as well executed as in it's predecessor: they added some new zones and modified most of them. Some of the new zones like the swamps look like mush, just really bland textures, but a new zone like the red forest is awesome and eerie. So in all the game world is pretty much the same, new zones, some are good and some are bad. So for the gameworld I will give +0 for being pretty much the same. Next well talk about the atmosphere: atmosphere really set SOC apart, and honestly this game is a let down. The only thing this game improves on in atmosphere is a day-night cycle. It still has eerie zones and places but i was only frightened in one part of the game. So this game just doesn't have the same spooky haunting atmosphere. So fro atmosphere i will give -2 because it is such a let down. Next well talk about another important aspect the weapons and combat. So in my opinion this game improves on the combat by adding new weapons and armoured suits. They have a new repair and mod system which is a godsend Some of my complaints with the weapons is that I think enemies sometimes take too many rounds to kill and also the weapon sounds are poor. So for combat and weapons I will give a +1. Next well talk about storyline, the storyline is done well it takes place before the previous games events and has you (Scar) following a group trying to penetrate to the power plant. The storyline is on-par with the first game without giving too much away i'll give it +1 because its pretty good. Backtracking a little the graphics have never been he strong suit of the S.T.A.l.K.E.R but this game has bland and boring textures and poor graphics, though it is a wasteland so you have to expect a bit bland graphics. So for graphics I will give it -1. Next well talk about a new faction war feature that i think is awesome. Being able to chose your faction and receiving their free gear for conquering their enemies is kickass. It is so awesome to wait at night time with a SVD with a night optic and knock off enemy squads, I think its a really cool and unique gameplay experience. Ill give it +2 for being a really awesome new feature. And last but not least we have the game from a technical standpoint, unfortunetly this game is littered with bugs. None of them game breaking but just frustrating so I'll give it -1 from a technical standpoint. Finally a quick side note, I greatly reccomend the complete mod, it fixes all of the game problems, but this isn't a mod review. So in conclusion I give the game a 5 out of ten. Sadly it's a little mediocre and doesn't live up to its predecessor but still a fun but flawed so if your a fan of the series its a-must play, but if your not I would just leave this one alone.

This game is kind of a mixed bag, while it has some unique and new elements it is poor in some ways. First off I hardly cared about the story, it just wasn't interesting at all, too many useless plot twists. The graphics and gameworld are great and dynamic, you have desert, jungle, and safari, I really enjoyed exploring the game world. On a similiar note, the driving and traveling in general is so tedious and boring. The weapons are awesome, theres so many ways to go about completing a mission, you could ambush your target with IED's, or you could do recon and then sneak, or you can just go in guns blazing. The game feels a little to lonely sometimes like the only people you'll ever see are enemies patrolling. I felt like the missions were too repetitive and tedious and it felt a little boring at some points. Overall this game is a good purchase.

Rockstar has produced another classic, but this time in an era rarely explored. Games that take place on the american frontier are rare, you have games like Call of Juarez, but, Red Dead Redemption is truly the first epic 'wild west' game. The protagonist, John Marston, is similar to other Rockstar protagonists, but I think he's a good character. The storyline is pretty good, but it moves slowly like GTA IV. Technically, the game is good looking but textures on rocks and such are kind of blurry, there are some glitches, the controls are well done. Overall a great game.

Rockstar has really disappointed this time. I was really enjoying this DLC but about 8 missions in a mission with Luis' mother (Momma's boy) the game has a glitch where the game will load indefinitely after the cutscene. I got that problem fixed but later in the mission it will load for about 1 minute and you spawn dead. I looked around a lot and couldn't fix it. This is really frustrating because as I said I was really enjoying this. So I really have no choice but to give it a low score.

Terrible, identical to Left for Dead with some new weapons and characters. I got so board i couldn't even make it through the entire storyline, which is about 5 hours. There is really nothing good I can say about this game, do not buy this.

It's an alright game at best, the campaign is ridiculous and short, but has some nice locations. The guns are pretty cool maybe they could have included some more though. The multiplayer is very good, except its terrible: the multiplayer is ruined by grenade launchers, tactical knives, quickscopers and no system to boot players. Spec ops is tacked-on crap, recycled story objectives, this mode probably took them 30 minutes to finish. Overall don't buy it for the multiplayer (which most people do) its broken and players make it terrible the storyline is alright and spec ops is trash, only buy if you have some time and cash to waste.

Awesome game probably the best in the Grand Theft Auto series. I like the theme of LA in '92 being a gangster, the story is pretty good a little hard to follow though. The characters are great, especially your homies, I thought all the characters were pretty unique. The controls are difficult, as usual in Rockstar games on PC, they could really use an improvement. The gameworld is awesome, spectacular ( GTA 4 didn't even beat this gameworld) so much to explore so much diversity, countryside, LA, San Francisco, Las Vegas and the desert. I could pick this game up today and discover something new. Awesome game but i would recommend the Xbox 360 version for better controls and better graphics and draw distance.

A great improvement over GTA IV, almost everything I had complaints about was fixed. The storyline is good a little depressing but good, I was a little disapointed by the 'ending.' The protagonist is awesome and more believable than Niko but probably not as interesting. Bikes have been greatly improved and I rarely rode anything but a motorcycle. The Storyline interweaves nicely with the original game and Niko makes some cameos. Overall, tons of content, the technical problems are mostly fixed, but if I had one complaint is that the DLC is a little depressing. A must buy for GTA fans.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

I greatly enjoyed playing The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim, it improves on Oblivion in almost every single way. First off the game is visually stunning and is really enjoyable to go walking around and look at the game world. Every region seems individually crafted unlike in Fallout 3. The regions are also nicely varied, you have snowy mountain peaks,(my personal favorite) forests, swamps and tundra. Onto the weapons and combat, the weapons are well done and look good but i do wish there were more types of armor and weapons. The combat is better but still a little stiff, but the addition of duel wielding an ax with a fire spell or a dagger with a healing spell or something of the like makes the combat more customisable. Technical the game deserves much to be desired, the textures especially on shade and snow is kind of blurry, also loading times are incredibly long. In my opinion the games biggest problem is its gear progression, by that I mean you'll be using near top tier weaponry by level thirty or so, that really can make the game dull in later levels. The story is quite good and its above average for a Bethesda game, along with the main quest you have guild quests, misc quests, side quests and faction quests. Over all this is a great game for any fan of video games, with its sprawling, beautiful landscape and addictive gameplay, The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim is truly a classic game.

Fallout 3 is a great game especially for fans of this genre. The story is pretty good, not superb but not bad. The combat is fun but a little dull, because it lacks a cover system or iron sights. The Voice acting is well done but the characters faces look stiff when they talk. The game world is awesome and i genuinely enjoy exploring. The game does crash often and it becomes very frustrating. Overall i think it's a good purchase.

The reason I give L.A Noire a 10 is because it goes where no game has ventured before and it does it well. More in depth though the storyline is superb and well written. The cases themselves are well done and I feel as if each case is as important as the last. The protagonist is disappointing the only time the protagonist gets any depth is near the end of the game. From a technical standpoint the game is a marvel, not a single glitch in my playthrough and the motionscan is remarkable. The shootouts are fun, the cover system is simple but its still good the car and foot chases are always fun. So in short L.A Noire is not your typical game, it makes you think and it does something new, definitely a great buy.

My initial opinion of the game was high but I soon began to see it's flaws. First the campaign is pretty good but drags on too long, and go here and kill this type missions get repetitive. The game also holds your hand for too long, with tedious tutorial missions. The main character Niko Bellic is a really cool character, almost too cool to the point where he feels manufactured and not a believable character. The buddy system where friends call you up wanting to do activities is incredibly annoying and unnecessary also they punish you for not doing stupid things with your "friends." Onto technical issues, oh where to begin, the frame rate dips often, texture pop-in and blurry textures are everywhere. The controls are pitiful they are so unresponsive and unnecessary, it's incredibly frustrating. So in my opinion buy the game just not for PC.

First off i was impressed with this games atmosphere and realism. Technically the game is sound it has a solid frame rate and not many glitches. The physics are superb, bullets drop while in flight and npc's react realistically when killed by explosives. The sound is really a mixed bag, some weapons sound realistic while others sound like hitting an oil drum, suppressed weapons sound especially good. The mutants are new ideas and they're actually pretty scary. This games atmosphere is second to none, I am genuinely scared about what lurks behind a door in an underground lab i'm in. The plot i found was easy to follow but not to simple. Voice acting is pretty mediocre and most npc's don't even speak but instead have written dialogue. Though you don't have skill points or anything like that artifacts and armored suits improve your resistance to bullets, chemical's etc. Overall I'd say this game is one of my favorites, I'd even go as far as saying this game is the unsung hero of open world FPS's. It is definitely worth your money.
