I haven’t laughed this hard at a television show so frequently & consistently in a long time. They nailed Tim Robinson’s humor with the direction and overall tone, it’s so unpredictable and irreverent and packed with delightfully quirky characters. I’m looking forward to rewatching this series already to catch all the little things I’ve missed from laughing hysterically. I’m so glad there’s going to be a season 2 of this, there haven’t been enough truly funny television comedies recently. If you like highly quotable absurdist humor & Lynchian mystery then you will probably love this madcap mix of the two.

The Idol (2023): Season 11
Jun 8, 2023
Nicely shot and that's about where the positives end. The script is laughably bad and so is a lot of the acting. Torture to get through.

I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson: Season 310
Jun 4, 2023
Easily the funniest thing on television at the moment and season 3 delivers the laughs! Tons of rewatch value. I can't stop watching!

Beef: Season 11
Apr 10, 2023
This is supposed to be funny? I watched this with two friends and we couldn't believe how bad it was, we like Ali Wong but this is awful.

The Last of Us: Season 110
Feb 9, 2023
Really good show, great acting, writing, production and direction! I was almost burned out on zombie stuff but I went ahead and forced myself to watch this and WOW! First four episodes are fantastic. I know the second game was really controversial and I didn't play it so we'll see how season 2 goes but so far season 1 makes for excellent television. I love the actor who plays Ellie, she's so good!

The White Lotus: Season 210
Dec 15, 2022
Didn't like it quite as much as the first season but this season is still excellent and still my favorite new show on television. Great cast and writing, plenty of suspense, laughs and drama. I really liked Jeniffer Coolidge, Michael Imperioli and Italian actress Sabrina Impacciatore although all the players are fantastic. Loved the setting and the finale was brilliant, can't wait for the next run!

Fleishman Is in Trouble: Season 110
Nov 28, 2022
Great show; very well written, acted and filmed. Based on a novel I haven't read so I can't comment on how it's adapted but if you enjoy adult dramedy with dry wit then you'll probably enjoy this.

Inside Amy Schumer: Season 510

I didn't expect to see this but I'm glad to have this show back and funny as ever! We need more comedy these days.

Dahmer - Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story: Season 110
Sep 29, 2022
Not for the faint hearted. The subject matter is extremely disturbing, but the filmmakers did a great job with presenting this horrible true story. I actually didn't know previously how badly the police failed, it was really illuminating. The acting all around was incredible as was the cinematography. If you can handle extreme content definitely check it out.

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power: Season 12
Sep 4, 2022
Mostly visually stunning and a feast for the eyes, the story and characters on the other hand didn't really grab me so I found myself losing interest between the first act of the first episode and the final scene of the second. The sweeping arial shots, beautiful backdrops and generally solid CGI had me hooked for the first twenty minutes of episode one but after that there's too much of characters standing still talking to each other in over-lit static scenes for too long (the stylized modern hair cuts are an odd distracting choice). The music is really good, the acting is fine and the dialogue is serviceable but not great, it's really the visuals that kept me watching. I'm not a dedicated Lord of the Rings fan; I've only read part of the book and seen the first trilogy of films when they originally came out so I can't comment on changes for adaptation at this point, but as a casual viewer I think this show has potential and if it can achieve more character/story focus as it goes on it could become essential viewing but it's off to a bit of a slow and rambling start.

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law: Season 12
Aug 30, 2022
This has some good actors in it and the cinematography is decent but the writing and direction just didn't do it for me. It's supposed to be a comedy but it's just not funny. There are adult situations but the visual tone and the way the dialogue is written feels like it's for kids. The CGI on Hulk looks pretty good but for some reason She Hulk looks off, her skin is too clean by comparison. It's very two-dimensional and forced, which might be ok if it at least had some big laughs.

Tiger King: Season 28
Nov 21, 2021
If you liked the first season this is worth watching, it's not as good but it was entertaining enough that I binged it in one go. I don't understand the hate personally, I enjoyed it.

Brand New Cherry Flavor: Season 110
Aug 28, 2021
I really loved this show! It gave me Cronenberg meets Lynch vibes with a nice dose of dark comedy added into the mix. Fantastic performances and direction, I would love to see another season.

Black Mirror: Season 510
Jun 10, 2019
LOVED THIS SEASON! Probably my favorite so far as the acting talent is so strong, the cinematography has been stepped up and it's as entertaining as it is chilling whereas previous seasons have lacked much humor and fun. I thought the Miley Cyrus episode was amazing for mixing so many ideas and not taking them down a predictable route. I really hope they make more seasons like this as I think the super dour tone was getting boring.

Disenchantment: Season 16
Aug 18, 2018
I'm only a few episodes in but I'm already fairly disappointed by the lack of humor; the show hasn't really made me laugh out loud much and that's a big problem. Yes The Simpsons started off a little shaky but it was still funny and had well thought out storylines. Disenchantment feels like a lesser Futurama clone; all of the characters remind me of previous Groening creations to the point where it feels way too familiar but without the strengths (Bean is more or less Leela, Elfo is Fry, the demon is Bender, the grandfather wizard dude is Professor Farnsworth, the dad is Scruffy as a King etc). Honestly there really isn't an excuse for this not being funny, Groening has the experience under his belt but it feels oddly lazy in some places and then really full of effort in others; the biggest problem is the writing and that's a glaring issue for a comedy fantasy series. Hopefully it'll pick up but judging by the flatness of it I just don't see this lasting unless they get a whole new writing team to save it.

Evil Genius: Season 110
May 17, 2018
I didn't know anything about this incident before watching this and I was riveted. It was very disturbing yet engrossing; even though it was tough going I had to watch it all in one night as the film really gets you invested in uncovering the truth. If you're into crime stories definitely check this out.

Search Party (2016): Season 110
Nov 23, 2016
Kinda like a cross between Broad City & Louie, super weird and dark at times but really funny and irreverent. Left me laughing and cringing in equal measure. One of my new favourites!

Black Mirror: Season 37
Oct 27, 2016
Really enjoyed the first episode about social media in the future, couldn't get through any of the rest (got the furthest into the San Juniper one but gave up half way through). Found the episodes a little too long and boring, and the ideas too heavy handed. It's all wonderfully produced in terms of visuals and sound, but none of the stories or characters hooked me like the first one did. I'd rate episode one a 7 or an 8 on its own, the rest a 5.

The Good Place: Season 18
Sep 22, 2016
At fist I wasn't quite sure but soon into the first episode I realised that this is actually really good. Kristen Bell is so brilliant in this role that she turns what otherwise may have been a too quirky idea into something very engaging. Can't wait to see more!

Atlanta: Season 17
Sep 22, 2016
Good show. I like the characters apart from Donald Glover, something about his protagonist just really annoys me and stops me from fully enjoying this. Some parts are really funny but then it kind of veers off course and gets boring. I like the parodies of modern hip hop culture, those segments are really on point. I'm hoping this gets a bit more interesting, so far none of the episodes have particularly grabbed me but I think the potential is there and will certainly keep watching.

Better Things: Season 110
Sep 22, 2016
Brilliant show! Extremely well written, wildly funny and exceptionally well executed. I really can't find any fault with it, you'll either love the characters and dig the honesty or you won't, but if you do then it's a real treat. One of the best new shows in my opinion.

High Maintenance (2016): Season 19
Sep 22, 2016
The characters are really annoying but I found it pretty hilarious and spot on. You either get it or you don't, it's definitely not going to be a show for everyone. Looking forward to more episodes.

The Get Down: Season 110
Aug 27, 2016
Wow! I didn't think I would ever really like anything Baz Luhrmann's had a hand in so I was skeptical about this but boy oh boy does it deliver. This has got to be one of THE BEST television shows of all time!!! I seriously cannot say enough positive things about it. As a DJ and a huge fan of old school hip hop and disco this show is absolutely everything I could want. It's so well made in every aspect; the actors are phenomenal (apart from Jayden Smith who's a little wooden although he's still really likeable imo), the cinematography is stunning, the dialogue is well written with plenty of drama and humour throughout, the music is sublime and the styling is amazing. It's so perfect that after 6 episodes I'm GAGGING for more. If they don't make a second season of this I will be really disappointed. Spending time with these characters in this world is an absolute joy. I don't understand why people keep saying the tone of this show has something wrong with it; NO IT DOESN'T. It's a coming of age adventure set in Brooklyn about a group of kids who get into DJing and MCing, there's music, there's comedy and there's drama, what's so complicated about that? The tone of the show is consistent to me; it's like an old Spike Lee joint stretched into a TV show. I appreciate that not everyone will be into the setting and the focus of the show but denying the fact that every second of this is pure magic on the screen is just foolish, The Get Down is perfection.

Lady Dynamite: Season 15
May 30, 2016
I can't tell if I like this show or if I find it annoying, but I've watched about 5 episodes and I'd watch more just to see where it's going. I don't really understand what it's supposed to be but I find Maria Bamford quite intriguing. Even though I only laugh a few times an episode I'm drawn in by how strange it is.

Chelsea: Season 17
May 16, 2016
I don't usually watch talk shows but this is good, I like the fact that it's loose and relaxed, feels like you're hanging out with the people who guest, unfortunately I didn't find Gwyneth Paltrow or Drew Barrymore's interviews particularly interesting. The third episode was really good and a huge step up from the first two in my opinion. For a half hour variety show it's refreshing.

Love (2016): Season 18
Feb 20, 2016
Great show! I loved the finale, it came together wonderfully, and I can't wait for the next season. Definitely one to binge watch, if you like Judd Apatow movies you should like this. One of my favourite Netflix originals so far.

The Comedians: Season 18
Jun 22, 2015
Great show!!! If you like awkward humour a la Curb Your Enthusiasm then definitely check this out, it's by no means as good as that show but it's still up there with the best comedies currently on television IMO. Crystal and Gadd are hilarious together and Stephnie Weir is amazing! I hope this gets renewed for a second season.
