The third season picks up right where the the other two left off, with more suspenseful tales “exploring themes of contemporary techno paranoia.”

People call Black Mirror the 21st century's Twilight Zone. That's certainly high praise, but the show ultra-eerie third season lives up to that promise. [21/28 Oct 2016, p.95]

Amazing series fueled by development of modern society. Visions provided in this show are not so sci-fi when you think it through, let's just look at China... Some episodes are weaker than best ones, but I guarantee that you'll get hooked. Just skip the first episode of first season if you can't stand it and watch an EXTRA Christmas episode! It's an ultimate mindf%^&*, a modern version of Gordian knot. Beyond scale, amazing, awesome, no more words needed! +fav

The payoff--Black Mirror promises no happy endings but the conclusions are always thought-provoking--is worth it.

The brilliant Black Mirror returns Friday for a third season--and its best one yet--on Netflix with six new episodes.

With more narratives to unspool, perhaps it’s inevitable that the quality level can’t remain consistent throughout. ... If someone decides to create a TV time capsule that represents this decade, I can easily imagine Black Mirror being placed in it.

The Netflix episodes aren’t quite as cheeky as the notorious British episode in which the prime minister is forced to copulate with a pig on live TV, but overall, the third season honors the sensibilities of the British originals.

All in all, it’s a season of Black Mirror you’ll enjoy if you like your sci-fi/fantasy/horror laced heavily with social commentary. Me, I wish the messages were ladled on with a lighter hand.

An amazing season of an amazing series. It has creative concepts and premises along with great twist and turns and unpredictable endings that make each episode of this series mindblowing. The Good: -The acting, the writing and directing are all just wonderful. -Cinematography is great for a TV show, which just like previous seasons, all episodes look like competitive movies. The Bad: -Hated in the Nation is the weakest episode of the entire season and one of the "worst" of the entire series.

I love the pessimistic take on a trend in our modern, digital, tech-heavy lives. It's like Philip K **** + William Gibson + The Twilight Zone.

As a fan of the past two seasons, I was fairly disappointed by this season of Black Mirror. For me this whole season felt way too expository and spent more time explaining every facet of the technology introduced. Even the episode I thought delivered best on its story (Nosedive) felt drawn out and way too expository for my liking and so did not feel like a core episode of the series I grew to love over the past few years. Otherwise, I thought episodes like "Shut Up and Dance" were much more in line with episodes from previous seasons, but also seemed to retread ideas the series has already explored. Overall, I still maintain the show is better off continuing with Netflix than simply not existing anymore. Nonetheless, I do not think this season was anywhere near as thought provoking as the previous seasons and whenever I do go back to the series in the future I fully intend to skip season 3 and stick to seasons 1/2 and the holiday special.
