8.5/10, would not recommend on older consoles or weaker PCs due to graphics being a huge part of what's essentially an interactive movie. It really detracted from the XBone experience. It's campy, I really enjoyed the characters and balance between humor, drama and deliberately cliche horror tropes. There's replay value due to choices leading to branching storylines, and if you're the type that wants to see every outcome, that'll take some time. Don't expect much of a traditional game -- this is a corny VHS story you get to help drive like a modern choose your own adventure book. Not for everyone but I was grateful for something different than 99% of today's AAA titles.

9.5/10 Small ding for the simple fact that years on and a console generation later this version is still missing visual effects from the original version. That small gripe aside.... My god, best RPG I've played in years. As someone who grew up playing the NES titles, this feels like the game that my imagination created while staring at those 8bit graphics. It's honestly a love letter to the roots of the console RPG. So beautiful, perfect music, creative design, loads of convenience features and a strong but simple story told with confidence and wrapped in love. They don't make simple pure fun games like this more than once or twice a console generation.

Pros: Good sound design. Risky and unique soundtrack. Unmistakably next gen visuals. Cons: Slow and boring combat. Low mob density. Long cooldowns. Laughably bad quest design. Lazy boss design. Poorly tuned level-scaling. Overall an unsatisfying, shallow, frustrating gameplay loop. Not worth $35, let alone $70-100. Also the best looks are locked behind literally hundreds of dollars of cosmetics. Sickening. Normally I'd only give a game a 0/10 if it won't boot, constantly crashes or bricks your system. So that rating of 2 should tell you everything you need to know. Lowered to 1/10 due to disgusting monetary structure behind season one.

I've never cared about the story in Diablo games. In fact, I almost always skip it. Beyond that guy telling me about the Butcher in D1, it's all been blah blah blah. So the 7 isn't because the story (apparently) ****. It's a solid foundation ****. The systems are solid but nothing extraordinary. The combat would probably excite me, but frankly it's so far below Lost Ark in that respect (and that alone) that it's hard to get jazzed about. Not worth $70-100 but certainly worth it if you can get it on sale. I'd take 7 more points off for having the most absurdly insultingly expensive cosmetic shop I've seen in a non-F2P title, but at this point that garbage is par for the course. **After another 15 hours, I've lowered this to a 1. The big thing was starting the campaign over and realizing that literally the entire design is built to make you wait, follow, listen, fight for a minute and then run somewhere so you can wait, follow, listen and briefly fight. It's SO lazy. Ugh... This game is not worth your time nor your money. Please do something, Blizzard**

Charming soundtrack. Beautiful artwork. Well written. Funny. Heartwarming. Tear-jerking at times. I don't typically go for this type of game but this one just clicks. It seems like the creators had a simple story to tell and they told it well. The characters are all enjoyable, the town is quaint... They even manage to cram in a girl with two moms and it (shocking!) doesn't feel out of place (not forced, just good writing.) Overall I'd give it a 10 and knock off 2 points for length/replay value being very low.

Gets 1 point because it boots up. 1 more because the buttons on the controller seem to control the action on screen. The game crashes. The framerate ****. The AI is laughable. The graphics are dated. Some effects (ex. Explosions) look decades out of date. Shallow, unrewarding and repetitive gameplay loop. This game simply wasn't ready for release and, sadly, seems like another year or two would have changed much

Just what on earth is going on in the review section? You all keep using that word "racism" and I feel like either A) Nobody knows what that word means anymore -or- B) There's some coordinated effort to review-bomb this game. I gave it an 8 because I haven't played it. I made this review to tell you kids to please shut up. And get off my lawn.

High on Life0
Dec 15, 2022
I'm actually speechless that critics are dumping on this and at the same time praising Pentiment as some sort of second coming. Pentiment was complete, utter, self-serving, agenda shoving LAZY trash that loves the smell of its own farts. High on Life however, it's just pure fun. ...And some fart jokes. I can't say for sure if you'll love this game without being a Rick and Morty fan. There's zero connection to the show beyond the voice actors and creator, but the humor is very similar. That being said, I have heard people say they aren't really into R&M but love this game. Personally, this was the best experience I've had playing on my Series X. The graphics are slick, with a style that shows a lot of creativity and love. The writing is hilarious -- honestly this is classic LucasArts level of humor (and meta-humor.) The gunplay isn't best-in-class but it's more than serviceable. Did I mention how funny this game is yet? Literally laughed out loud many, many times. It is SO refreshing to play an original game that has no motive beyond entertaining me and making me laugh. The AAA and Indie scene has gone very stale, hopefully some of those creative types take a break to get High on Life before making their next game. We need more entertainment focused on fun.

Pros: Creative, funny, good gameplay loop, very refreshing to play. Cons: Despite being fairly low on the technical requirements, and despite me cranking it to the lowest possible settings -- I could not get my GPU/CPU to stop overheating. This game is really cool but until that's fixed, it's simply unplayable. It deserves a 0 because it can legitimately fry your system. It's getting a 3 because my goodness, it's pretty freaking unique.

Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days7
Aug 9, 2022
Well... I certainly don't understand the 0s. Or the 10s. Honestly it's a bit difficult to assign a number to Kane and Lynch 2... This game left a mark on me though. This is a game I'd recommend you experience at least once. In short sessions (I'll get to that.) The story is pretty basic but more interesting than your average shooter. The characters are refreshingly repugnant. The settings are, by and large, varied and unique. The shooting is passable, not great, not bad. The enemy AI is on par for this generation. This is more like experiencing a Michael Mann movie than playing a 3rd person shooter. That's not to say you will be watching more than playing -- you won't. But the scenes you'll play through are pretty raw and interesting to experience. They offer no reliability whatsoever so keep that in mind if you're considering paying more than $10 for a copy. When I said play it in short sessions - I meant it. This game honestly made me motion sick a couple times. Not to the point of actually getting sick, but 100% to the point of needing to stop. I'd fault the game for it if some of the set pieces weren't so fantastic. Also there is an option to reduce the camera shake... which I'm dumb enough to have missed the first playthrough. I was legit screaming at my TV in frustration just wanting it to end in the final 30 minutes (died over and over) but even that frustration combined with the average gameplay and bouts of mild nausea don't outweigh how much I appreciate gaming doing something this odd. I wish they still did. $10 or less, do it. More than $10... well that's up to you.

The Quarry7
Jul 25, 2022
Definitely not worth $60. I got it on sale for $40 and still feel that $30 would have been more appropriate. Good story, wonderfully shot, well written and believable characters. Full on committed to the campy (no pun intended) horror it's clearly inspired by. The graphics are beautiful, the soundtrack is good and the story, albeit cliché, is pretty good... until it isn't. Clocking in at 7-8 hours long per playthrough (and encouraging you to play more than once), The Quarry is far more of an interactive movie than a game. There is less interactivity than The Order 1886 and less impact in your choices than any Quantic Dream game. It's fun, you'll get about 8 hours out of it, maybe 16-20 if you really enjoy it. The graphics are beautiful... but that's about it in terms of the "video game" elements in The Quarry. The quicktime events are awful (honestly, least creativity imaginable here) and the dialogue choices/relationships don't impact much. I enjoyed this game and I realize to most people 7 is a bad score. 7 is a game I'm glad I play and glad I didn't pay full price for. Not thrilled, not disappointed. Is $60 worth 8-20 hours of fun? Up to you.

Diablo Immortal5
Jun 3, 2022
Meh. This game does not deserve a 0. To give it a 10 is laughable as well. I'm not even sure the 5 I gave this game is a fair rating. All I can say is meh, so take the 5 for that. Diablo Immortal is simultaneously impressive and depressing. The graphics aren't great but aren't bad. The gameplay isn't perfect but isn't awful. The microtransactions are insulting but not the worst in the industry. The choice of classes, skills and loadouts is pretty sad. ...Might as well download it and see for yourself... I suppose if you're the world's biggest D3 fan you might find enough here to keep it installed longer than I did.

Diablo II: Resurrected8
May 23, 2022
The bulk of the bad reviews, and hence the overall score, are due to server issues at the time of launch. Blizzard shouldn't have had such a hard time but don't read too much into those reviews if you're considering a purchase. Things are stable as can be now. This is a wonderful remaster that plays remarkably well on a controller. I was very skeptical but with only 2 exceptions, the controls are flawless. The graphical facelift looks great, the look and feel of the original was preserved and, for the most part, that works heavily in this games favor. There are certainly a few annoyances in the original release that remain, for example the limited inventory space, but that's really down to personal preference of convenience vs authenticity. If you have played LOADS of Diablo 2 in the past, I'm not sure I could recommend this game as you'll be doing that same thing you were 10 years ago. If you're new to D2 or, like me, you played it casually back in the day, there's countless hours of replayability here. My only complaint (and it drives me nuts how simple it would be to fix this...) You cannot scroll the map and you cannot easily decide what item to pick up. This is made 1000x more frustrating by the simple fact that the right thumbstick does nothing. Ever. *Easy* fix Blizzard, c'mon now. Overall, not perfect but certainly several hundred hours of fun for $40.

TLDR: 8.5/10, a very fun, beautiful and memorable way to spend 5 hours Two important disclaimers: 1. I played this game on Game Pass, I cannot imagine paying more than the cost of a movie ticket for it. 2. This is not a game in the traditional sense. At all. I can understand the negative reviews. This is basically one part walking sim, one part adventure game, one part rhythm game and all of that is smothered in beautiful art and wonderful music. If you want something with legit gameplay, look elsewhere. This game is more of an "interactive experience." Personally, I found it very refreshing, I loved the characters and the voice acting. The music was phenomenal and the graphics, settings and story were all top notch. Not quite on the level of Journey but certainly lives in the same neighborhood inside my heart.

If you've never played a Souls game, PLEASE do not start with this one. Every other game in the series is a better place to start, I worry that for someone who starts with this game, they'll miss out on the rest of the series because hey, this is the newest one so it MUST be the best. It's not, it's near the bottom of this great series. Maybe at the bottom entirely. So... another Souls game. Not saying that's a bad thing. The combat is fair and challenging, the presentation is solid, the graphics are... alright, certainly not 2022 stuff (unless this is just a bad PC port... which now that I look over the reviews, it sounds like I got off light, it just looks old and blah, it's not stuttering *anywhere* near as bad as many are experiencing) This is not a bad game, 7/10 is not a bad score. It's alright... but I'd wait for it to be on sale for like $20... While it retains many of the elements that made prior Souls games great, what it cuts out was essentially the heart and what it adds in simply doesn't work. The open world is boring, the enemy placement is lame, I didn't feel any sense of wonder or world building that even comes close to the rest of this series. The game feels rushed and more like From was told to make a game they didn't really want to make. As a huge fan of Demon's Souls, Dark Souls and Bloodborne... I'm not disappointed per say... but I'm certainly not wowed either. I don't care for how open the game is, it really ruins what makes these games great. I don't care for the setting, take Bloodborne for example, the setting was the best thing about it. I don't care for the random hodgepodge haphazard placement of enemies, it honestly feels like an early 2000s MMO when you look at how things are laid out...I certainly would put this near the bottom, maybe just above DS2, in terms of souls games. That being said, 7/10 doesn't mean this is a bad game and DS2 isn't bad either. It's just not anywhere near their best work, which I'd recommend 10x over this title. Again, not horrible but it's not worth $60 and From Software clearly didn't put much effort into this port. Sigh... maybe I am disappointed, writing this really made me feel that way. 6/10, skip it. 7 is too high of a score for how much of a fall from grace this is, especially with how bad the port is for PC.

If you look at the majority of the negative reviews, they're from people complaining *ON LAUNCH DAY* about long queue times. Smh... I'm not sure what people expected. Great graphics, fun combat, some room for improvement in the enemy variety and A.I. but bear in mind, the game has been out about a week. The gathering and crafting is incredibly addictive. The PvP is a BLAST. The ability to truly build your own character is second to none in the MMO market. A bit lacking in endgame content from what I've heard (that's what you get for racing to endgame in a new MMO...) and the leveling content is a bit too repetitive. While this is a drawback, it's hardly noticeable if you let yourself explore, gather, craft, fight over territory in PvP and spend time making some friends. Not the greatest game of all time, definitely the best looking MMO since FF14 1.0, best combat in an MMO for sure (unless you like Korean MMOs in which case you may prefer BDO). If you've ever played Albion, this is a lot like a beautiful, improved and more fun version of that, played from a 3rd person perspective rather than isometric. Several months later: This game ****, every update breaks stuff, the economy is ruined, the crafting is pointless, the gathering is ruined (thank you bots and thank you AGS for not caring at all)... This game is awful. I did get about 80 hours out of it, but it's an MMO. I don't feel like I got 80 hours of fun for $40, I feel like I wasted 80 hours *and* $40. 1/10, horrible awful game with great graphics and amazing sound design. An absolute joke. AGS should never, ever make another game. Ever.

Right off the bat -- "Can EA have you information?" No. "But you'll miss out on this ultimate team pack!" No. "Are you sure?" Smh... Bad AI. Boring gameplay. Less control of offensive and defensive audibles than when this franchise used to be good. Next to no custom options for Franchise mode. Repetitive and tired commentary. Way too many interruptions. Ads, everywhere. So many adds. Drink more Gatorade. I got this game for free on Game Pass and it still feels like it cost too much. 0/10, hot garbage, better off playing an older (Pre 2018) Madden and just customizing the rosters.

"I give this game a zero because I'm stuck in a queue." Smh... this is why the user score is so low. This game is fantastic. With 1.3 million people playing, how you could expect there NOT to be a queue is beyond me. It's far from perfect but this is a really fun MMO. Lots of vertical and parallel progression, varied classes, fun combat, solid graphics, good voice work (especially for a localized Korean game.) If you're thinking it looks like Diablo, that's about where the similarities end -- looks. Beyond the isometric perspective, this game plays much more like a cross between Albion and Black Desert Online. I'm hooked, I'm out $0 and I could not be happier with the situation. Best game I've played in at least a year. I've tried pretty much every MMO (beyond the utter garbage) for the past 15 years. Not since first starting EVE have I had this much fun with an online game. Honestly I cannot imagine giving this game a zero for any reason other than being salty. Even if it's not your thing, it's at least a 5 if not a 6. If you like MMOs, I think you'll like Lost Ark. 8.5/10

An average game with a lot of effort and some high quality production values. Pales in comparison to the original but still not trash. It offers little to appreciate as a newcomer and certainly, nostalgia aside, not much for long time fans. Poorly paced, clearly drawing out sections of the story in order to compensate for the need to get *something* out the door. It's not bad, it's not great. It's not optimized well at all, otherwise I'd give it a 7/10 and say grab it when it's on sale.

Detroit: Become Human9
Dec 11, 2021
Beautiful to look at. Enthralling story. Great characters with solid Hollywood actors behind them. The level of choice and the impact it has on the narrative demands multiple playthroughs to fully experience the story. That's great because the moment the story ends, it's near impossible to avoid the urge to immediately restart. You play as 3 different androids in a near-future Detroit: A maid, an elderly caregiver and a state of the art police investigator prototype named Conner. Each character is faced with countless choices and most of those choices impact their relationships with a vast supporting cast of equally well crafted NPCs. The story, which I will not spoil, can be a little heavy handed at time, but it's overall an amazing accomplishment in interactive storytelling. Personally, Conner is my favorite video game character in ages and his relationship with his police partner is one of the best crafted in game relationship I've ever seen. 9/10, script could be a tad less heavy handed. Top of class graphics, unique but overall immersive control scheme and excellent characters make this a must play (more than once!) game.

Far from perfect. Very linear in terms of level design and character development. Takes 4-5 hours too long to fully open up and let you build your own battle party. Gorgeous, even a decade later. Best soundtrack in the series. Great characters, great story (albeit confusing the first playthrough) and an awesomely addictive battle system. Personally my favorite since FF7. And, aside from 7, I've played this more than any other FF game. Very underrated and over-hated. Well worth you're 50 hours.

There's no need to call this game an RTS. It's technically real-time but the way it plays reminds me far more of a CRPG than a modern RTS. Similar to Myth II in terms of some mechanics, that's meant as both a great compliment and a definite criticism (that game is 20+ years old afterall) Hit-or-miss voice acting, poor AI and clunky gameplay keep a good game from being more than decent.

World of Warcraft: Shadowlands8
Feb 28, 2021
I don't understand the level of negativity in many of these reviews. Honestly I think some folks might just need a break from WoW. This is easily my favorite expansion since Wrath (I skipped a couple here and there) and there are many reasons why I feel the game has improved. Leveling is no longer a slog, nor does it include the pain of something like "I just hit 80... only 40 levels to go." You get something new most every time you ding, it's actually a lot of fun leveling up in the BFA content, at least in my opinion, and when I level an alt, I can choose from any expansion out there to level in. My wife and I have been having a blast running heroic and mythic dungeons and just stepping into raid content this week. This is no longer a game that demands all of your free time, the classes still feel iconic and the worldbuilding in Shadowlands is a cut above anything I've seen in the decade+ this game has been out. Is it perfect? No. Is it a solid game? Definitely. Is it the greatest MMO out there? That's up to you. 8/10, would recommend.

Seems like most people either give out 10s or 0s. This is far from either. It's not the generation defining experience we were sold on, but a 4 or below??! Ride to Hell deserves that, Cyberpunk does not. It has a few good elements mixed in with some serviceable elements from GTA, Skyrim and Witcher 3. 7/10... maybe a 7.1 As is, I can't recommend this game. With some patching it could improve but the core is pretty weak and would require 2 more years of hard work to fix.

Much like playing an open-world Ubisoft game and feeling like you've played it before. You have, more or less. Same old house, new coat of paint. A few truly good ideas to build upon, a solid engine (save a few remaining but certainly fixable bugs...)-- it's simply too familiar. If you've played any ARPG since the genre first grew to it's zenith, odds are you've played a game that's eerily similar. Perhaps better, perhaps not. WLoH is absolutely something you'll find yourself extremely comfortable with from the first moment. If that fires you up, fire away. If you're looking for someone to truly reiterate on the genre, you'll find yourself wanting.
