This is a pretty good game. The single player was okay and I got through it, but the multiplayer is why people play this game. It's good, and the action often feels tense and engaging. But, I feel like no one actually works as a team and most of the time I find myself walking 20 miles back to the action only to get sniped by some guy camping in a building. It's just not something that I can get into, but that's more or less my own style of play which is more CoD paced, so I don't knock the game for that. Solid overall. Worth owning if you like more slowly paced military shooters.

This was one of the original launch games for the Xbox 360 and people used it to prove how good the console could make games look. First off, while it does look pretty good, I felt like the game itself was complete garbage. Everyone got the same car, the fastest one in the game, and raced it over and over and it was awful online. The single player was the most repetitive and uninteresting modes around. I'm usually not so harsh on a game, but this one is just no fun at all.

This is the best single player horror action shooter game ever made. Wow, kind of a lot of things on that genre. But, as it stands, I have never been gripped so tightly by such an atmospheric game before. At first, you're scared, but then after that, you start to realize how much fun it is -- there's a great deal of storyline mixed with tense action moments, and overall it has the kind of pacing that kept me coming back for more.

This game is pretty good. It's addictive and there are a lot of cars. The multiplayer was interesting too, though most of the time it boiled down to drag races on the tracks that could support it. What really brought it down for me was the graphics, which are downright bland AND have horrible (I mean awful) aliasing problems. Thankfully FM3 came out and corrected all of the weird problems I mentioned here.

This isn't a bad add-on, but I really didn't get that much out of it. The story was there, but it was fast to beat and I really didn't have much attachment to the characters. I kind of just played through it and thought "hm" and just moved on with my life. Nothing special here.

When this was first released, it was one of the best games ever made, but it's been put in perspective a few years later, which is what this review is based on. I had a lot of fun playing this game, but there were so many unforgiving points that made your replay sections over and over again. The multiplayer was compelling but they removed the cover system and it also looked far worse than the singeplayer for whatever reason. It's an interesting game, but these days doesn't really hold up.

This game is beautiful, engaging, and, most importantly, fun to play and explore. It's nearly the perfect action adventure game. Sure, there can be frustrations **** with this kind of a scope, but what you're getting is hours of an interesting storyline and some of the game pacing and gameplay ever created in a video game. This game is one of the gems of this generation.

This game has such an amazing story and it sets up an entire universe (pardon the pun) that is rich and dynamic. Every interaction has its own feel and style and your actions impact the course of the game directly. What is frustrating, however, is the lackluster combat and the sluggish, hard to use menus. I give it props for having a new game plus option though, which expanded my time with this game quite a bit. At the end of it all though, I felt like it could be more. Then Mass Effect 2 came out, and now I am perfectly content.

This is the best racing game of this generation. Everything just feels "right" when I play it. The cars handle like they should (I know as I have had several of them) and the single player is engaging enough to keep you trying to get more cars and more upgrades. The tracks are varied and interesting, and I haven't got bored of them. The graphics are such an improvement over FM2 that's it's kind of ridiculous. This is a great game. If you have an Xbox 360 and you like cars, this is your game.

This is a worthy sequel to a great game. The single player has more action and explosions, though the story is still about a bunch of space marines being badasses. Who cares? The point is to shoot stuff, and in that approach, it's a great experience that has tight controls and rewarding combat. The multiplayer is well expanded and this is the first game that I can recall that uses the "horde" system of cooperative play against waves of harder and harder enemies. I like this more than the actual multiplayer of the game, which is full of people who apparently play this game 24/7 and are so good it takes the fun out of trying to play.

This is Oblivion in the Fallout universe, don't be fooled. That said, it's not a bad thing. As usual, this game is riddled with bugs and frustrations, but overall it's definitely worth it. I put so many hours into it that I know it's worth playing through them. The story is vast and engaging, and for a single player game, it'll give you a ton of bang for your buck.

I played the first game in the series so much that all I did was drool and dream about the features the MW2 would have. In theory, all the new additions to customization and killstreaks would make this the best multiplayer shooter ever. However, after spending so much time with this game, I felt like the experience had been cheapened by diluting the game with a million different features that took away from the skill and enjoyment of the first. I liked the Spec Ops feature to play with friends, though I rarely used it. The single player had some awesome set pieces, but the game only lasted around 4 hours and the plot made no sense. But the multiplayer is still enjoyable... it just has too much going on for its own good and I don't feel like it's a strong game because of that.

This is a great game. It has enjoyable graphics, a decent storyline, and a great multiplayer offering supported in turn by ****'s range of features and statistics. I notice that everyone reviewing this game calls its overrated, and then choose to underrate it. But, this game is a solid 8, maybe even an 8.5. I spent so many hours playing this game with friends and I have mostly found memories of it. The single player was neat to play through, but I don't think anyone serious about the game will stay for that: the multiplayer is what makes this game and on that front, it offers a type of balanced team-based gaming that no other game can match.

This is the best multiplayer online shooter ever made. The single player is there, and it's cool, but that's not the point of this game. The class system and unlockables make this the most engaging, interesting game in the series. There's not so much stuff that it's annoying like its current version (Black Ops), and it just feels right. The maps are paced correctly and there's more than a few interesting choke points and mission modes that keep it varied. I'm not sure what the negative reviews for this game are going for -- this game was nothing short of a multiplayer revolution. Finally a game that mixes realism, twitch FPS gaming, and an engaging leveling system.

One of my favorite memories of the 360, Gears of War is a great game. It's fun to go through, the story is about a bunch of huge space marines, and things go boom. It looks great, even today, and it's mechanics are rock solid. I've beaten it a dozen times and I still have fond memories about it. The multiplayer is good, though the sequel has it beat there. But for the price you can get this for these days, you might as well pick up and have a go.

Definitely one of the best games ever made. I love the concept of a western shooter and it's surprisingly how seldom this genre has been tried even though it's one of the most iconic American adventure stories. A few games have tried and they failed miserably. This one succeeds in all ways, which is impressive to say the least. It's engaging in that the story is actually fun to follow and there's so much to see and do that it never gets boring. Get this game.

Absolutely, hands down, the most intense, engaging, and thoughtful role-playing action game ever made. Everything about this is polished and interesting, and I find myself picking up and playing it all over again several times, even though I know what every choice and option there is to take. It's a great game, and it's one that I will never forget playing. For people who love a complex story, it's amazing. And, the DLC adds quite a bit to an already expansive game. Get this. Now.

This has so many games packed into one game I hesitate at giving it a 9 instead of a 10. But 9 it is because the game is showing it's age, especially now a few years after its release. I feel like it's a better experience on the PC, and that Xbox 360 makes the game lag and stutter in places and it just doesn't have that same polish on the Steam side of things. It's great, don't get me wrong: there is so much to do in this package... but I still feel like I'm coming up short somehow.

This is a good game, but it's not one of the best games I've played. The atmosphere is pretty intense and the game looks great, but I just felt bored because there was so much repetition by the first hour. I struggled through it to see the story, which is compelling, but after I beat it, I haven't touched it since. It's good if you're looking for a quick single player game to play on a rainy weekend, and it's dirt cheap now, so I feel that it's a good purchase.

This game has a great story and is very fun to play through once or twice or just mess around with codes on and blow things up. That said, after you beat it you'll probably only play through it once more and even then you may never touch it again. The multiplayer is there, but it feels really disconnected, and literally, you're often disconnected. It's a good game, worthy of the franchise, but it's not the best game ever.

This is a great add-on to a spectacular game that introduces some fun Halloween, zombie-themed humor. It's an interesting twist to the story and it's pretty enjoyable both in the single and multiplayer fronts, though I found the single player to be a touch repetitive. The single player here is pretty much worth a couple of run throughs and it has an okay plot, but it doesn't really further the story all that much. But who cares about that because the multiplayer is what counts. This game does it right, providing some of the most balanced, engaging gameplay around. There's a wide variety of modes and maps that accommodate every player's tastes and it's got an addictive leveling system that doesn't impact the game action. If a person owns a 360, Reach is a game to have in their library. It's good to play daily, but it just feels "right" when you need a change of pace from other games.

This isn't a bad game, but it isn't anything new. The single player didn't engage me at all and I had no idea or interest in whatever the plot was supposed to be about. Kill a Russian or something, just like every other game ever made. There are ridiculous moments in it and too many uses of "cool factor" slowmos that are more cliche than cool. As well, there are times when infinite numbers of enemies rush trenches in mind-boggling simplicity that makes the entire game feel fake. The multiplayer is essentially the same as MW2 -- if you've played that, you played this. It's okay, but I dislike the maps. They're murky looking and not as fun to play in. All of the things that have frustrated me about MW2 are now compiled with all of the things that frustrated me about WaW and it's not enough to keep me playing.

I really was looking forward to this game, but I was really disappointed. The game immediately felt like it was Burnout, which it is for all intents and purposes -- the same developer made it. There's no story, which is fine, but I lack any sense of cohesion. As well, you can't personalize and collect cars in the same way as previous games, which makes the sense of connection less than any racing game I have played in the past few years. I also am frustrated that I paid 64.95 for this game and the first time I loaded it I was forced to watch an ad for another 64.95 game. It's tactless. It just doesn't feel right as a whole and I don't, for once, agree with the reviewers. I would wait until this is in the bargain bin but your mileage may vary.
