Boring - and Hilary Duff is miscast here. None of the cast is particularly relatable and their acting is hammy like it's a Broadway (show instead of real life).

Poor chemistry between the two leads and a flimsy premise. There also doesn’t seem to be a good reason for this show to exist. Meanwhile, since it’s on HBO, it’s still somehow watchable. Not memorable though.

A seriously entertaining series that picks up the pace and starts to have a lot of fun with the premise by around the 4th episode. By the end, a truly binge-worthy experience and truly a lot of fun. The actress that plays Pru is great, Shipka does a good job as Sabrina, and Hilda/Zelda/Ambrose actors are also strong. Some of the other actors seem rather one-sided with weaker acting, such as Harvey and Susie characters, but they got better as episodes progressed. The heavy use of filter, however, should really be toned down. Overall a lot of fun and super seasonally appropriate.

What a tough position for the writers, crew, actors to be in - and it is reflected in the reviews for this show. Roseanne Barr continued to make offensive comments despite repeated warning and concern from many. The choice was a difficult one post-firing: lay off more than a hundred people or keep the show going. They chose to shoulder on - the American way. The zero stars here remind me of questionable Yelp reviews (that violate the terms and are removed): if you haven't set foot in an establishment, whether it is a Trump hotel or a mom and pop operation, you can't write reviews. It is based on first-hand experiences, legit pluses and minuses. Is the food good? Was the service considerate? I understand the frustration of many about what happened to Roseanne, but it is what it is. The show should be based on its merits - and perhaps after actually watching several episodes would you have the right to comment here. Based on its dark tone addressing what happened to her character I am not sure what direction The Conners will go in. And perhaps I will adjust my rating accordingly. But I actually watched the episode, and was impressed with the maturity of it all. The fact that humor can be found, that the cast still gels, etc. was something to behold. It is, however, a work in progress, and I recommend giving it a chance.
