all quips and no bite, interesting concepts on paper, fell flat on execution. this feels like a video game that so desperately wanted to be a TV series or a movie because this thing is hampered by all it's cutscenes and dialogue to a point that it has to yank you away from the gameplay by your neck to put you through another 10 minutes of groanworthy banter between you and your cuff, or you and some character(s) you meet and it gets so tiresome. the gameplay has it's good elements but it to is hampered by it's repetitive 'move here, kill enemies, cutscene, repeat' structure. it's trying to be everything 'infamous' gave us all those years ago but with none of the spark, it's fun for an hour or so but gets boring fast

the best way to completely nuke your player base and good will: force the game to always be online to ensure your players have no choice but to download the latest MTX riddled software update and leave it with a kill switch to be permanently deleted when the devs can't be assed keeping the servers up anymore. short term profits over long term gains as always, good job guys

Babylon's Fall0

babylon's fall indeed, right off a cliff. executives love to make money but executives are not games developers and this just proves it. a soulless husk **** made by clueless money hungry executives and directionless developers...releasing so soon after elden ring was just poetry in motion, like a fart in the wind. don't burn your money, spend your money elsewhere

Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales5
Nov 13, 2020
the only way i can describe this game is this, marvel's spiderman from 2018 was essentially the resident evil 2 remake. fully fleshed out, plenty to sink your teeth into, a fully immersive story and gripping from beginning to end. if marvel's spiderman was the resident evil 2 remake, spiderman miles morales is essentially the resident evil 3 remake. shorter, less stuff to do, a lighter experience compared to the previous, can feel deflating rather quick if you got your hopes up too fast. i'm not saying this game isn't fun, trust me this game has it's moments. but it also has moments of feeling too familiar and too repetitive. less boss battles, more jumping around, a lot of errand missions, less gadgets. i'd wait for this game to go on sale, i dont want to be too mean as i really did have fun with this game but with how little this game had in comparison to what we got, i just feel deflated

Mafia: Definitive Edition7
Sep 25, 2020
If what you were looking for was a mafia 1 remake that feels like the recent mafia 2 remake, then you’re in for a treat but if you were looking for more you may be disappointed. What it does get right thought is the feel of a 1930’s american city, you will immediately feel the nostalgia growing as you weave in and out of traffic exploring this expansive city. You once again play as tommy angelo in the final years of the prohibition and if you enjoyed the story of the original game, you will without a doubt enjoy the story here but this time with realistic graphics. sound effects are amazing with even smaller details like hearing the engine of your car cool down as turn it off, realistic sounding gun fire and you will get an immediate nostalgia boost from hearing the music come from the radio. the story is phenomenal as always and the comedic timing of some of the characters hits perfectly when it is needed whilst at the same time drawing you into the game’s world. onto the negatives. whilst the graphics of this game are impressive at times, especially in cutscenes, you will experience quite a bit of pop in when traveling at high speeds through the city and in grassy terrain. Some character models, whilst they do look amazing in cutscenes with you being able to see every hair follicle, most background NPC characters tend to look potatoey and derpy in gameplay sections looking like an assassins creed 2 remake copyright lawsuit waiting to happen. on the discussion of NPCs, enemy AI can come across as brain dead at times. constantly getting stuck behind walls in their vehicles, running out into the open as you’re opening fire on them or even running right up next to you like they thought they were invincible. Even with all of it’s faults, it is still an enjoyable game with a great story and a fun cast of characters. It just needed a few more weeks in the oven to iron out all of these problems before it released

Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning8
Sep 9, 2020
kingdom of amalur: rereckoning isn’t a remaster in the general sense, you won’t see anything too mind blowing here but that isn’t a bad thing. This is essentially the same game you loved from the playstation 3 but slightly cleaned up. gameplay is still fun, story is still intriguing with at times goofy dialogue, the world you’re introduced to will still enthral you and keep you hooked. If you’re coming into this game looking for high resolution final fantasy style graphics and lighting don’t get your hopes up but what you will get is a really enjoyable and fun game worth your money.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 28
Sep 6, 2020
as a die hard fan of the first 2 tony hawks games, i was a little nervous after the catastrophe that was tony hawks pro skater 5. however, after getting my hands on this game i was able to breathe a sigh of relief. that being said, there are quite a few small disappointments but they didn't outweigh the enjoyment i had diving back into these games that i had so many treasured memories for. getting the disappointments out of the way first, blood has been taken completely out of the game instead of giving us a toggle option. this obviously to open it up to a wider audience but this added to the impact of falling off your board in the original games, following in line with that, certain tracks have been redone to edit out the cuss words which added to the edginess but this is understandable. seeing your character materialise out of nowhere after falling off your board is a little jarring and gives you the feeling you're playing with holograms and not real people. these issues are rather small though this game is incredibly fun and definitely appeals to fans of the classics like myself. all of the classic minigames are back such as collecting the hidden tapes, time trials, collect the s.k.a.t.e. letters dotted about, they've even improved exploration so you can actively roam at will and investigate every knuck and cranny. graphics and lighting has definitely improved though some areas look more jarring than others. overall this game is definitely worth the money you pay for, highly recommended

Marvel's Avengers5
Sep 2, 2020
marvel’s avengers isn’t a batman arkham, a game in which you have an entire map to traverse, unlockables hidden in back alleys that give you interesting story beats or extra missions. This game had so much potential and felt like we could’ve been given more with this expansive world and vast array of characters to play with. Instead it kinda feels like an anthem or a destiny, a game that feels like you’re dropped into an arena to fight hordes of samey enemies over and over again only to be given skins or weapon upgrades. It feels like a game created with monetary gain first and artistic expression second. Imagine if we were given a single player only marvel’s avengers game that allowed you free reign over the entire city of new york in the same vein as marvel’s spiderman, receiving incoming transmissions from the other avengers of thugs robbing banks, enemies like loki, taskmaster, norman osbourne or even thanos running amok and causing chaos. Being able to switch back and forth between a wide array of avengers as you aim to accomplish those missions, deciding between doing the mission alone or even being able to call in other avengers to assist you if it gets too difficult. Don’t you think that would have been a way better avengers game than what we got? It can be fun at times but with this repetitive structure, it gets old fast and that’s disappointing

Streets of Rage 410
Aug 31, 2020
i'm a very big fan of the 'streets of rage' series, so when i heard it was coming back and that an indie studio was taking the reigns, i was so utterly excited but also cautious. so when i finally got my hands on the game i immediately took a sigh of relief, i can confidently tell you all that this game is truly amazing. i absolutely love this animation style and feel it suits the tone of the game perfectly, you'll immediately feel the nostalgia come rushing back from the moment you begin playing. not only do you start off with the newer models for your titular characters but overtime you unlock the classic retro models of the megadrive era. this game is treated with the utmost respect that i believe is worth the money you pay for so limited run games deserves our respect as well. thankyou so much for bringing back my favourite franchise, buy this game

Madden NFL 210
Aug 29, 2020
remember last year when you were able to find madden 19 logos and madden 20 logos in EAs 'newest' instalment in the franchise? if that doesn't show you how much they just don't give a sh** about these sports titles, nothing will. they didn't even give enough of a sh** to give us professionally made box art for this year's instalment. copy and paste gameplay year after year, the same old glitches imported over from the previous game. progression so slow they'd put yandere dev to shame. if they didn't give enough of a sh** to give us a decent game, why should we give a sh** about what they release in the future. you'll be saving a lot of money by just skipping this game

Fall Guys8

a bright and cheerful game that will definitely bring a smile in times of sadness or depression. if you like takeshi's castle and wipeout, you will absolutely love this game. this game is designed for you to get infuriated, to joke around, to play with family, friends and strangers but more **** have fun that doesn't mean it's perfect though, it does suffer from tremendous lag from having so many players on screen at once, controller input can be a little stressful and constant disconnection problems but overall this is a game is fun, cheerful and brimming with colour. you will without a doubt have a blast

Ghost of Tsushima9
Aug 7, 2020
from the off, i'm going to state that i already have bias in favour of samurai and ninja video games as a massive fan of stealth games such as the tenchu series. that being said, i was already a fan of this game before i even installed the game into my console. now i've played it i can confidentally say......i absolutely love this game now granted, there were a lot of things that knocked me out of the emersion such as the glitches. constantly getting stuck in terrain when you feel like you should be able to climb that area, certain dialogue options not triggering when they should. entire missions rendered unplayable such as the water children mission looking for the kappa when i was supposed to be looking for clues and instead stuck in an endless investigation animation until i had to restart. other than these instances, i enjoyed every minute. i love all of the bright colours you witness as you traverse your environment, the mysterious side quests you come across searching for legendary outfits and equipment, the fact that you can use the wind to guide you to your objective with a quick swipe up of your controller to even being able to change the weather by playing your flute you carry around. i enjoyed everything about this game and will be extremely surprised if this game doesn't score 'game of the year'. buy it, buy it now
