The Guardian's Lucy Mangan's rave review is horribly off the mark. A decent cast with somewhat over the top performances don't disguise the "car crash" (spoiler alert pun intended) plot and incredulous twists. Suffice it to say that it's a stinker. Avoid

Loved the uterrly charming and brilliantly realised 1st series. The 2nd has been rushed and adds very little. Hopefully this wrong can be addressed by a more coherent 3rd. I see no reason why not if time is taken. Somehow Barbara Ellen from The Observer thought the 2nd series was far better. I shall take her reviews with a pinch of sale as of now

It's a quirky and extreme show. It's not for everybody and it's not for me but I can see the perverse appeal

Ambitious but somewhat incoherent. They're clearly having a lot of fun but it doesn't come off. The plot turns are based in the absurd and swing from one madcap situation to the next. Very well made with excellent performances but it's largely ludicrous

The first season was fresh and heart-warming. However I found the second season somewhat mediocre and dull. I'm in the minority given the reviews and I'm pleased a show such as this has gained recognition but I wasn't fully engaged.

Top-notch absurdist, but somehow touching, comedy about Dave Burd, a white jewish rapper (Lil **** AKA LD), inhabiting the black world of hip hop. Some very clever stuff about cultural appropriation and misogyny, particlulary about how some point the finger but are hypocritical/culpable. There are a few too many **** jokes but some of them actually stick the landing. The dialogue is particularly excellent and there are countless brilliant cameos from hollywood actors and hip hop icons. Recommended even if you have no interest in hip hop (I don't) - though it helps.

The last 3 episodes are the most exhilarating, seat of your pants television since Breaking Bad left our screens. I'm not sure there'll be a better show in 2022

Some strange user reviews regarding wokeness ruining the show misses the point that the show is somewhat ridiculous and is essentially a somewhat dull space soal opera. There is the occasional exciting moment but there's too much Dallas and too little space exploration

Series 1 is excellent throughout. Series 2 starts and ends well but the middle episodes are somewhat pointless. Series 3 has a few great moments but is mostly offensive and rudderless

Season 1 scores a solid 8/10. It has a terrific rhythm and some geninely funny setups and gags. Season 2 is a mess and there are inexplicable jumps in the story arc. It's as if a TV executive stepped in, decided to fix what wasn't broken and threw the baby out with the bath water. The closing minutes are great but the rest of season 2 is best avoided...

Asa Butterfield's performance aside, season 2 isn't a patch on the beautifully crafted and delightfully fresh 1st season. The plot development is neither as interesting nor sophisticated and the joyous ensemble performance feel gone. Such a shame they couldn't maintain the quality.

Highly intelligent police drama. Nicola Walker is exceptional. This and "Happy Valley" are on a different level from most British TV

Season 1 is engaging and suitably quirky but season 2 is a car crash. Many of the male characters are absurdly mysoginistic and the plot simply ridiculous particularly with regard to the impossible coincidences that clumsily attempt to engage us. Some good moments but must try harder
