People talking about hand holding are sayinng BS! The games just gives a few waypoints in a few places, and they are sometimes very needed to prevent needless backtracking until you realize you're nnot going in the right direction. I played the original, and the second mission was a nightmare to find the three crash places, because everywhere looks the same! So having waypoints and better graphics made it so much easier! But the design of the ships is still the same and sometimes it's very repeated, as it should to keep immersion, so waypoints help! The only real problems of it is the lack of a multiplayer, the online connection and maybe it not being so well optimized, but in fact, this is all something that can be solved! Gameplay-wise, the game is great!

The controls are awful, most of the time the characters are pretty bland, Nathan's joke are boring as hell, the AI and enemies on general are terrible, the physics are a complete joke and the difficulty curve is the worst I ever saw, until the middle of the game you have basically zero risk, if you at least know how to play a video game, and after that the game artificially creates difficulty with lots of enemies in places were stealth, which is terrible in the whole game, is never going to be really possible, so you get onto fights with lots of enemies, which wouldn't be difficult, if the controls were decent, which they aren't! So the games creates difficulty through bad gameplay, not through real challenge!
Besides, the game introduce some gameplay elements, which could be fun, but them never uses them again! Like pickpocketing or the possibility of the open world in one of the segments. And it just keeps repeating the same "the treasure is in another location" trope through half of the game! The reallity is, the people that praised that game, only did it because it was mostly easy and out of nostalgia of the older games of the series.

A return of Bethesda to it's great games, like Oblivion. Saying the game doesn't have depth or anything like that is disengenious. Most of the people that didn't like it are people that came with the wrong expectations, because of themselves, Bethesda was very clear about the game systems. As many thought that Cyberpunk 2077 was going to be a futuristic GTA, those people think that Starfield was going to be Star Citizen or No Man's Sky... No, it's an RPG through and through, with all the mechanics and the living galaxy you would expect! And is a REALISTIC space exploration RPG, that's why they called NASA-PUNK, it's grounded in realistic science, and the main plot is about discovering possible intelligent alien life! So there are a lot of lifeless planets, because that is how the REAL SPACE IS!!

The fights are repetitive, the loss of control in the middle of some Boss fights is ridiculous, and the earlier bosses can be easily cheesed... Besides, the scripted "run for your life" scenes offer no real danger **** over and you mostly can just walk without risk... The side quests are tedious, and the hubs are empty... If I wanted to see a movie I would have gone to the theater, not to play a game!

A masterpiece, engaging characters, a carefully crafted social system, an excellent story and a unique art style, trully one of the best JRPGs I have ever played.
