If you don't play a lot of game you'll probably have an enjoyable time playing this. For everyone else this will be the same cookie-cutter game Sony has been making for the better part of a decade. As usual the story is safe, mainstream, predictable and fairly dull. The fighting mechanics are decent, but not as responsive and fluid as other Samurai based games (Nioh, Sekiro). There's no risk or tension whatsoever because the it suffers from the same trope in most modern games: an enemy spots you and you leap into the nearest bush and they're, "where did she go?". As a Samurai I want to be on a knife edge and face peril traversing populated enemy areas ala Splinter Cell. 5/10

This game was actually very good when it was first released on consoles and just needed some refinements to blocking to prevent power spammers. But the patches have completely ruined the punch tracking. Every punch, especially jabs and straights are pulled out of range for no reason or don't register at all. Trying to land and execute a simple 1-2 combo against an unguarded opponent in range failed 8/10 because punches just go wildly off-track. And they keep releasing paid DLC while the game is in this state which is shameless and criminal.
