Spectacular story and characters. Amazing fighting mechanics. IMMACULATE music and art. I hated almost every second I spent in Tartarus, but other elements are so perfect that it can only cost a point out of 10.
Amazing graphics. Gameplay is very enjoyable and shooting is satisfying. Different types of guns give a pleasant variety to the gameplay. The locations are very well designed. Extraordinary level design. Fun puzzles.
However, maybe because this is my first game in the genre, I disliked the mechanic where you have to go back to the same place after gathering resources so that you can unlock things you could not before. Not for me. Additionally, the controls for mouse/keyboard is terrible. For example, to get out of menus, inventories, maps etc. you have to right click, instead of pressing esc. The map is also very weird, you have to click the scroll wheel and drag the map in order to move within it. They remind you constantly that this game was designed for a controller. Lastly, the story was also not for me. The phenomenal voice acting was the only reason I felt any emotions, besides fear. Although the scenario was kind of enjoyable and tolerable, I didn't really find it special. Still, definitely not forgettable. Overall a great game, but controls and some game mechanics didn't do it for me, thus the 7.
Very short game for the price. Visuals and gameplay are amazing as always, but is expected since the first game is spectacular. It was a good introduction to Miles, I've really taken a liking to him. However, the story is pretty terrible. Even for a superhero story it's too cliche. Even for a superhero story it's too unrealistic.
An actual RPG where choices really do matter. Amazing story. Interesting characters. Phenomenal voice acting and animations. It's mindblowing that an RPG of this scale with so many possible scenarios has cutscenes and animated dialogue. Exceptionally well-written and performed music. Very fun gameplay. Great amount of quests and enjoyable bosses. High replayability. A game brimming with passion, love, and magic. Extraordinarily good.
The characters and story were phenomenal and complex. The voice acting was amazing. The RPG element is also beyond sufficient for an action-based game. There were a couple of story routes I could choose from and many small decisions I could make, which didn't significantly affect the story, but were very satisfying. I loved seeing characters from The Witcher 3 and learning more about them. Using the signs was also very enjoyable. Although, Yrden was quite useless, as there are too few instances where you have to use it, once with some wraiths, and once with a boss battle. Combat, on the other hand, felt like a chore. Fighting with multiple enemies was a nightmare, more so when surrounded by them. Then, the controls become unresponsive and clunky. Other than that, it was reasonably decent. The dodging mechanic was kind of clumsy. Another thing I could criticize is the level design. At times, you get a mission objective on the other side of the map, and it can be difficult and very boring to navigate through space, without the help of quick travel. The audio mixing was not well done. At any certain music/voiceover sound level, sometimes you don't hear the voice acting due to the music. Usually, you do. I know I can change the settings, but I don't want to deal with that each time this happens, and then change it back. Also, there were some bugs with the voice. Sometimes, I heard every noise, but the voice acting just didn't work. Another bug I noticed was at some point, in between two chapters, the game would just black-screen. I had to Google it to solve the problem, but it only happened once. Overall, very solid game. Was a memorable experience, except for a few cases of very frustrating battle designs.
Incredible game. One of the best-designed open worlds I have ever seen. It's crazy how if you can see an area, you can go there. You can climb basically everywhere. Gliding makes it even crazier. I love that there are different communities and biomes within the world. I loved exploring every one of them one by one. The shrines are impressive. They are amusing to solve, and also very rewarding. Increasing the stamina wheel incentivizes more exploring, leading to more shrines. It's a loop I couldn't escape. It feels very rewarding when you solve the puzzle. It makes you feel like you are the only one who could do it, as it doesn't give you any instructions. That is very satisfying. The combat feels great. I like that weapons break. It forces you to try new weapons which present a variety and breaks monotony. I also like the food system. There are some things that hold me off from giving this game a perfect score. Firstly, I didn't enjoy the majority of side missions. They are repetitive and dull. Also, the main story wasn't anything special. The final boss was extremely easy and disappointing. In addition, although the open world is amazing, there wasn't much to do in between the shrines. Still, a breathtaking game.
One of the first games I've ever played. I remember getting it as a present when I was 5 years old. As a small child who didn't know any English, the game was very challenging (making the quiz parts very hard). However, I was able to finish the game and after that, I kept finishing it obsessively over and over again. This helped me learn English and see I could overcome challenges. (I know the ps2 version is completely different and this is not as epic as that one is, but 5-year-old me enjoyed the minigames so it's an amazing game!)
As the first game of an arc in "The Legend of Heroes", this game was very slow. However, I still loved running around cities, interacting with characters, and completing tasks given to me by the folk. I also loved the school feeling of the game, as a Persona fan. The social sim mechanics were also great. I absolutely love the world-building of this series and this arc does a great job showing the Erebonia part of the story.
A very fun experience. P5R has the best art style I have ever seen in a game. The GUI, cutscenes, everything is made with great attention to detail. The game is very well-polished. The soundtrack of the game is also one of my favorites, although I like P4G's better. The funky and jazzy upbeat music fit the mood very well, when either in the cafe or in a battle. As a musician, I was very impressed by how well made the tracks were. Apart from that, the story presentation and characters were great. I already love Persona's social sim mechanics, so that was still very enjoyable for me. The turn-based battle system was very entertaining like it was in the previous games. Negotiations were a nice addition. Although the above-mentioned aspects were well-made, the story did not feel TOO satisfactory to me. This is of course a personal preference and may be different for other people. In the Persona series I really can't warm up to the "Friendship and love is power" message. I mean, I like the message but it's too highlighted for me. The story, in general, was OK but IMO it was too long without any big twists. The story was very consistent, I would have loved some exciting plot twists. Everything in the story came predictable to me and I was almost never surprised. In that sense, P5R was a downgrade from Persona 4 Golden, which had many surprising and unexpected moments for me. The cons I mentioned were not a turn-off for me at all, I still enjoyed the game very much with engaging combat and social sim mechanics.
It was a very enjoyable game. The story was engaging. Combat mechanics were very fun. The story presentation was good as well. The missions did not become boring even though sometimes they were repetitive. I really liked running around the cities and completing tasks given to me by the folk. I absolutely loved the characters and their interactions. I could actually feel the love or hate they felt for each other. The first games of arcs in "The Legend of Heroes" are usually very slow and introductive, but I actually liked this. I don't think that there are exciting stories until the second games, and it was the same here. However, I absolutely love the world-building of The Legend of Heroes and I loved being introduced to it slowly.
Amazing game. Fantastic story. Interactions between the characters made the game extremely realistic and made me feel like I was inside the game. Gameplay, story, presentation of the story, level design, everything is amazing.
Currently, I am 21 years old. I spent my childhood watching Harry Potter movies over and over. (Yeah, I have never read the books... Sorry lol) I was at some points obsessed. I would find a twig and roleplay as a wizard in my room. I even knew almost all the names of the spells, and what they did. So you may imagine what a blessing this game would have been to me when I was at that age. Even now, it was a beyond incredible experience. However, the developers have also made very bad decisions. Pros: -The combat feels amazing. Having so many different types of spells and being able to cast them is a blessing for someone like me. Making strong combinations from the different spells felt amazing. Combat animations were amazing. I could feel that I was actually damaging my opponent. -The castle is beyond incredible. Every second I spent there, I could feel the passion emitting from the developers. No words. It was perfect. The ambiance, the music, everything. -Room of requirement was a great addition. Very fun to make potions, and collect beasts. Cons: -The story was terrible. Except for one, the characters are not memorable. Any one of the random side events from Red Dead Redemption 2 has a better story than that of Hogwarts Legacy. The starting idea is good. The villains are not well-written. The characters are not well written. The dialogue is very bad-written. They are not realistic. The protagonist is just blank. Not as a silent protagonist though. For example, the Persona series have silent protagonists, but I find them to be likable, even only from their dialogue options. This protag's dialogue options also ****. -The open-world experience was not likable. It's extremely repetitive. -The student experience is terrible. I hated how I had to collect ingredients to unlock spells. It made no sense story-wise and was not enjoyable gameplay-wise. I almost never felt like a student at Hogwarts. -I despised the political correctness. I fully support LGBT. Some of my best friends are a part of the community. I have friends from various ethnicities and colors. I am also brown. However, the story takes place in 1890 England. They should not be at a point where they know not to assume someone's gender. They should not have controversies about pronouns. Trans people should not be normal in that period. There shouldn't be so many different races at such a major number. Even though this is not ok with me, it's a harsh reality. This majorly kills off immersion. If you want to do this, make a game that takes place in 2023, and I would absolutely be OK with that. Even though I had so many negative comments, the atmosphere of the castle and the combat, never bored me. They were incredibly done. However, I am very biased. If I was not a Harry Potter fan, or if this was not a Harry Potter game, I would have rated it much lower. But, this was the dream of my childhood. It was very enjoyable and I religiously played it, getting 100% at 66 hours. Very nice job.
Pros: +One of the best open-world experiences I have ever seen in any game. I felt the developers worked their asses off for every detail in the map. +Side-character quests were my favorites. Very interesting, and enjoyable. +Random side quests like the cyber p, or Delamain were also excellent. Filled with realistic dialogue that makes you laugh or deeply think about how technology can evolve, in a Black Mirror way. However, there are not many of these types of quests. +Gameplay and the advancements are enjoyable. I never got bored during combat. Cons: -AI is extremely poor. Enemies act stupidly, but not so much that it ruins combat. Traffic AI is stupid. When you park a car just slightly on street, all the other cars behind you stop and wait. They do not look for another solution, drive around in their car, or get out and walk. They just sit in their car for hours. -The main story started out well, and the endings were also great. However, I was shocked when the point of no return sign appeared. In my opinion, it was too soon. This might have been because of the release date rush. Sad to see how much potential was wasted. -Police activities and gigs are repetitive. However, combat makes them enjoyable. -Some parts of the map were not designed properly. I guess they didn't have time to polish. For example, the badlands have a lot of trash on the ground. If you decide to go through there, either on foot or in a vehicle, it becomes a nightmare.
A masterpiece. Art-style is amazing. The level design is beyond incredible. The co-op experience is fantastic. The game keeps giving you new equipment at each level, which makes dynamic gameplay, killing off any repetition. Every part of this game was pure joy. The minigames and other details within levels are blessings. I never got bored playing this game, not even for a second. I could not expect anything more than a co-op action-adventure platform game. I'm breaking a point because Hakim was very annoying. (Also, the relationship dynamic was unrealistic and too comical at some points. But at this point I'm trying too hard trying to find a con about this game.)
Sorry for the low score. If I look at it objectively, I can see that the game is excellent. But I started playing this game only to experience the preceding story before replaying Witcher 3 for the 5th time. In 2023, I can't bring myself to continue with this game. I'm sure the story is amazing, but I lost it when I had to walk everywhere in the swamp. I played for 10 hours, but I realized that it was just torture for me. I give up. Of course, this is subjective. I am using this website only to rank my games according to my enjoyment level.
I would consider this a masterpiece in the roguelike genre. The story and lore were so well incorporated into the gameplay that the essence of roguelike games, dying over and starting, became a part of the story and felt very natural. You are a godly entity living in the underworld, which rationalizes coming back to life after dying and starting over. Zagreus' speech was very well written. There are many small details that make the game and the story as a whole become more natural and real. By seeing Zagreus guessing which one of the sisters he's going to face next, or trash-talking against his enemies, we feel that he is a real person with emotional capabilities. The existence of an aim to exit the place over and over again gives meaning to the repetitiveness of the game, and the small cutscenes after every escape make each attempt interesting. I wouldn't say that the story was great or special, but it was perfectly good enough for a roguelike game. The presentation of the story was extremely well. The art, voice acting, cutscenes, and small jokes of the narrator; everything were very well-polished. The gameplay was very smooth and enjoyable. I liked the variety of the upgrades and weapon choices. I love how they are mostly Greek mythology accurate. The variety of enemies and bosses on the runs was also sufficient in my opinion. The reason I'm breaking off a point (my max is 9, so it makes this an 8) is that after I first beat Hades, the game stopped being challenging. Especially the extra lives made me immortal. After I first beat Hades, I never died again and beat the game with a 10 streak within a few hours. Some fixes for this that I would have liked to see are different boss patterns, new enemies, new dungeon types/traps, and more difficulty. However, the gameplay was so smooth and easy on the eye that I was not bored not even a second. I also have to appreciate the art department. The music and illustrations were pretty amazing. Very brilliantly made game. I DO NOT recommend it to people who are expecting a non-repetitive and linear action game. I DEFINITELY recommend it to people who are familiar with roguelike games. You will love it.
Definitely better than the previous installments. Adding a Mat helped the atmosphere and realism of the game a ton. I really enjoyed it. Although I expected more options and better story elements.
This game was OK. I loved the nostalgia. However, the game does not have much to give. It is very short, and the interactions between the characters are not too well-written. Still, it set the mood right and made me sad or happy at times.
"Too" was definitely an upgrade from its predecessor. I liked how there were results to your actions. I also liked how you had different options. Again, the nostalgia felt really good similar to the first game.
Very well-made game. I loved soaring through NYC freely, which you cannot find in any other game. The city feels very alive. The voice acting is great. The story presentation is perfect. However, side missions are somewhat repetitive and the MJ stealth parts are terrible which disrupts the game's flow.
GTA IV's story was my favorite one among the other games in the series. However, I had 2 significant issues, leading to a 3 point drop in my review. 1 - Aiming was not sensitive to small mouse movements. When I aim for someone's head, I need to move the mouse upwards very slowly. However, the game does not pick up the small movements, which makes your cursor stuck just underneath my objective. When I move the mouse more strongly to counter that, it finally detects it, but this time the cursor flies upwards, again missing the head. This was not a game-breaking issue or didn't make anything more difficult. However, in a game like GTA where you always need to use a gun, it becomes very annoying. 2 - There were huge bugs, although extremely few. At a certain point, I needed to spam the space button as a mission objective, but the button was not working. I had to completely change my graphics settings in order to make the space button work in a mission. Other than these 2 issues, the game was very amazing. The acting, story, story presentation, the freedom in your choices, and variety of friend activities were all perfect.
The game was enjoyable for the first 7 hours. Stopped being enjoyable when **** randomly killed half of my residents within 2 minutes. Would rate higher if I was considering this as a mobile game.
The realism is fantastic. Combat mechanics are unique and very satisfying. I was astonished when I realized that the game's map was accurate to the real-life map. When I searched the real towns on the internet, it was amazing how similar they made it. I highly respect the developers because the game affected me so strongly that I couldn't stop learning about their fascinating culture and history. The fact that our main character did not know how to use a sword was also a well-chosen decision, as it is difficult to grasp the mechanics for the player. This makes you feel like you are one with Henry, learning and growing with him, which adds to the realism and immersion. However, side missions are not too well made. The ending of the game feels rushed and has some minor bugs. Still, I couldn't stop playing the game until I finished it. Wouldn't recommend it to people who like a game full of action and don't like realism (to the point where you have to sleep each day and eat consistently, which I really enjoyed.)
Fantastic adventure. Spontaneous interactions between the characters made the game extremely realistic and made me feel like I was inside the game. Gameplay, story, presentation of the story, level design, everything is amazing.
Immaculate attention to detail. Amazing story and acting. Stunning graphics. I did not seek difficulty, a non-bulky control scheme, or a fast pace in RDR2. Although a better aim system would have been great, it was not a turn-off for me.
Beautiful story, presentation, art style, and soundtrack. Made me cry and laugh within a 5 minute period. However, the gameplay adds nothing to the product. If the story was below average the game would be unplayable. The controls were clunky; moving the characters around was frustrating. I might have even enjoyed the game more if it was on auto-pilot and I didn't have to touch the keyboard and mouse. Still, awesome story. Will definitely give the sequel a try.
Pros: -I love the atmosphere of Yakuza games and this game has also succeeded in creating a dynamic street life. If you are a fan of Japanese culture, then this game - or the Yakuza series - is definitely for you. I liked discovering a new city as well as seeing older ones that I am familiar with such as Kamurocho. -I like how they added optional friendship levels and cutscenes with your party members. A great option if you want to know about and understand them better. -The new turn-based combat system was enjoyable for me. Still, the epic animations could sometimes undermine the tone of the story. Also, I didn't find it any difficult. When you are able to make money you basically have infinite health and cannot die. I think I died only once throughout the entire game. Still, the combat was very enjoyable and didn't bore me at any point. -The story was not as predictable as it was in its predecessors. -I like the new characters. I think that they are all likable and had their own stories which were tied up in the end pretty well. Cons -The story. I don't know how to feel about the story. It wasn't uninteresting but it was not focused. There were a ton of ideas but they are all thrown to you at such speed that you cannot be immersed in a specific theme or an emotion. In addition, the story usually does not fit the expected tone of a "Yakuza" game. I know that this is a Japanese game and it has some anime-like elements but when you are in a life or death situation and your party members have a 5-minute-long dialogue about the power of friendship in front of their enemies as they wait, it just doesn't do it for me. It would be very effective to give subtle hints about how emotional or soft the characters are on the inside as well as hiding it. When I look at the characters I cannot see much tension or seriousness. For example, Kiryu's character was well-written in those terms. He was a badass but also he cared for his friends, and people's lives, he liked children and liked helping people out. However, you could not understand those if you didn't get to know Kiryu very well. To me, Ichiban did not feel like a Yakuza protagonist. Maybe it's because this is the first game of his storyline but I don't think that he will have such character development. He is already in his forties and is mature. Still, I liked Ichiban a lot as a person; he is helpful, he cares for his friends, etc. Just not something I would expect from a Yakuza protagonist. -I hated the dungeons. They are repetitive and the level design was terrible. It was not interesting to look around within the sewers. It was the same textures and walls, only in different rooms and corridors. At one time in the dungeon, there were unbreakable walls blocking your way and I had no clue how to get past them. I searched it on the internet and found out that one of our characters should have a specific job to be able to break those walls. And what can you do? Get out of the dungeon by walking the entire way back, go to the job center, change your job, go back to the dungeon entrance, and clear the dungeon out one more time. When I learned about this I was totally done with the dungeon and never got in one ever again, given that it already was not so interesting. -Money-making mechanic. Similar to some other old Yakuza games, you are given the option to have a business. I actually love that mechanic and it's always fun to max it out. However, that business is the only way of making real money towards the endgame, where you may need millions and millions of Yens. Although it doesn't take too much time to make money from the business minigame when it's needed, it becomes very boring. The only thing you do is press a button to initiate the business simulator and it does things by itself. Every now and then there is a small minigame but it's also very repetitive and becomes boring. I would have liked it more if there were some minigames within the business minigame including fighting etc. Still, it is a well-polished game with a great atmosphere but 7/10 is the max I can give to this game. Definitely should try it out if you are a fan of Japanese culture or the Yakuza series. If you are new to the series and have no sympathy for the culture I don't think that you will be able to finish the game.
Very nice artwork, fun survival, and crafting mechanics. Still, it was not special to me at all. Just an average time killer. Gets very repetitive with time even though it is fun in the beginning.
Very boring in my opinion. It is fun at first but it wore off too quickly for me and my friends. I don't think that I'll pick the game up ever again. Still, there's a good variety of minigames and the graphics are cute.
Honestly, the 3rd game was better than this. It was boring to me. Areas to explore are very limited. The game only added new graphics in order to make easy money and removed some good aspects in the process.
Amazing ending to an amazing story. With the new graphics, the game was extremely fun. Similar to the other Uncharted games, the interactions between the characters really made it realistic and fun. Closure to Nathan's story was well-written. I felt like I was home with my parents, watching Indiana Jones, with a happy ending after a good adventure.
I have only played the single-player part of the game and I loved it. I loved roaming freely in my car with good music that you could choose from on the radio. The missions were really enjoyable. I liked that there were multiple endings. Very good optimization.
My first entry to the CS games. I did not really enjoy it because IMO there was only one enjoyable map to play on. Also, I am not really a fan of online FPS games; therefore, I did not have so much fun playing.
Fun game. I loved interacting and roleplaying with real players. However, there are many boring roles for me, and for the most part, you get those roles.
I could not come to enjoy this game where there are substitutes such as **** Valley for this type of game. At the start, it seems fun, but it gets very boring and repetitive with time.
