Clair Obscur: Expedition 3310
Apr 28, 2025
Ok, flat out I have to start by saying this is the first game since FFVII that made THIS much of an impact on me right out of the gate.
The intro has surpassed FFVII's as the greatest I have yet seen in the videogame world. And to me, I was always wondering for like 30 years which game was going to do it. And here it is!
Clair Obscur Expedition 33 is THAT game, folks! This review is even pointless because words cannot express what you have to FEEL in order to understand what I am talking about here. This game is the true definition of a masterpiece -Graphics, Sound, Story, Cinematography, Gameplay and ESPECIALLY the MUSIC (dear lord, the music!!!) have never before combined so well as they all do here so elegantly and gracefully.
After 30 years, for me anyway, there is finally a new KING! This game is just that good. And don't listen to me, just check out everyone else's review here. The praise this game is getting is through the roof!

Best racing game ever created. Period. Had 900 hrs on the PS3 version and an additional 1060 hrs on the PS4 Remastered version. And now I'm still playing this game on the PS5 with 4K 60fps. Best feeling of pure speed I've ever experienced. I don't think a racing game can ever top this.

Bloober deserves my respect! I had no idea this game was going to be anywhere near as good as the original but I'd say it matches it and I'm completely blown away right now for even saying this - but this is one of the greatest games not only of this year but of ALL TIME!
This review wouldn't even do it justice. Just go play this game NOW! It's the only masterpiece of the modern day gaming era I can think of.

I really don't know what to say here except, my god.... I think a FF game has FINALLY topped the original FFVII. This game is perfection. Some of the finest art direction, story and music in any game I have played. And the gameplay is immersive and addictive. I can't take my hands off this game. After FFXV, I had no hype for this whatsoever until the demo came **** even then I was expecting nothing less than disappointment. Holy hell how things have turned around.

Wasn’t going to write a review for this but never in my entire life have I seen an audience get something all so very very wrong. What am I reading and seeing here? Never have I been more disappointed in humanity than I am right now seeing all those red reviews. This is the greatest damn video game ever crafted with haunting themes of loss and despair. I think many people just do not have the deep sensitivity required in order to truly appreciate the power and haunting beauty of this game. I almost do not even want to call it a game. It’s beyond that when something is able to make you feel so deeply. I cried in the end…most of these people will never be able to possess the ability to feel what the character in this game is feeling. The desire, the determination that no matter what the ****’d do anything necessary to bring the love of his life back from the dead. I will say this…the critics here are the correct ones. And thank the heavens for that. If I listened to all the idiots here I’d miss out on the greatest cinematic masterpiece I have ever experienced. And I’ve platinumed this game. I’ve spent 120 hours on it according to my ps5. It’s my most beloved and cherished video game of all time. I bought two physical special editions of the game. One for myself and my brother. This is how much this video game means to me. The critics didn’t review this game for the average moron that’s out there. Of course they knew most people wouldn’t understand this masterpiece. This game is made for people such as myself who admire the finer things life has to offer. Someone that smells the roses while going for walks. Admires beautiful sunsets. Listens to the birds as they fly over cascading **** critics reviewed this game based on what Fumito Ueda envisioned this game to be. The loneliness, the despair, the way the horse handles….every little damn detail in this game is exactly how it was intended to be. It’s not supposed to be easy to climb those colossal beasts…it’s supposed to be an agonizing task in which when you succeed you feel as if you have conquered the world. I’m glad the critics see this game for what it truly is. Shame on all those bad reviews but I’ve always knew this to be true. Most people on this planet are not exactly spiritual and introspective people.
It’d be like trying to show someone with a bery corrupt mentality and view of nature why the waterfall is so beautiful and they’ll just say…but it’s just a waterfall. You either see it or you don’t. You either believe it or you don’t. I for one, am happy to say that I see what the critics see. People are going to talk to me about awful controls? Seriously? The horse controls as if I’m actually riding an actual horse. It feels like he is a separate entity to the main character and feels like it has a mind of its own. You really have to command him to stop. The horse honestly controls itself and moves freely through the corridors without much need for player control. People are just clueless or upset that this game was praised so much and rightfully so. I had no problems navigating through the game but then again this game is my cup of tea…I hate shooters and nonsensical stupid games. I like contemplative experiences like this where you just navigate through the environment without anyone holding your hand. This is perhaps the most misunderstood product of all time. People are just not used to this kind of game and are gonna bash something they don’t like because it’s not their conventional Zelda like game. This game is REAL. The creator wanted you to feel every breath of wind and every blade of grass. He wanted you to be in the footsteps of wander and boy, the final 10 minutes are some of the most emotional moments I have ever witness in a gamer.

Wow like wth is up with all these 10’s? I think everyone just WANTS this game to be the greatest of all time. They’ve decided this long before the game even came out. It’s ZELDA, after all…and Nintendo. They can do no wrong, right?
So yeah, has anyone figured that maybe, just maybe those 0 reviews are just counterweight to all the mindless, brainless 10’s this game is receiving? Because to me this is nowhere near as charming **** as Ocarina of Time was. And that game I bought day one and even got the gold cartridge. I find BotW to be one of the most grossly overrated video games I have come across.
There’s greatness in there, sure…but overall I find the games design to be bland and dull. The dungeons are a huge yawn fest compared to the masterfully designed areas of OoT and I found the entire soundtrack to be lazy and boring. Also I can’t stand the new design for Link. I don’t know….I just feel this game isn’t really the Zelda I once loved. OoT and TP are both vastly superior Zelda games to me. Lastly, the original Final Fantasy VII is still the greatest video game ever made and no one will ever change my mind. See? Opinions. Not everyone is going to be brainwashed into praising this game like it’s the second coming of Christ. Seriously based on all these 10’s that’s what I was assuming and came out absolutely disappointed. I ain’t gonna give it a 0 ad it’s a solid video game but I understand why some are gonna want to give it a 0.
There are so many games that I find far more superior such as Shadow of the Colossus (ps4), God of War, A Plague Tale (both games), Resident Evil 2, The Last Guardian, etc. Honestly, I think I have very particular tastes and unique style and many games of this new generation don’t even really appeal to me anymore. Most of my other all time favs ever come from the past like Silent Hill 2, FFVII, FFVIII, FFX, Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver, ICO, Vagrant Story, Chrono Cross, Tekken 3, Prince of Persia Sands of Time, Contra, Streets of Rage, Ninja Gaiden I can go on and on….. Breath of the Wild isn’t my cup of tea but it is simply a good game. Nothing more, nothing less.

I just finished the FFVII Remake and came back here just to say...this is still the greatest game of all time. That's all that needs to be said, really, about this game. Anyone who has already played this masterpiece knows it's flawless in the gameplay, music, control and funfactor categories.

It's unheard of for game's to be THIS good! This is seriously like the PINNACLE of game design. The talent on display here is almost unreal. Truly one of the finest gaming experience I've ever had. The story is well executed but isn't one of the greatest stories I've seen. When you have a game that has some of the greatest visual presentation I've seen and a cast of characters that are truly appealing and interesting, combined with an array of abilities to learn that create some of the most satisfying battles ever witnessed, you'll quickly forget that the journey is just a simple one about reaching the peak of a mountain. But hey, what happens inbetween is quite extraordinary. There's this one boss fight in the game that absolutely made me think....there is just no way I am actually playing this, am I? I was in utter disbelief. It's rare that games can make me feel this deeply about the experience I am having. Bring on the damn sequel on PS5, already!

Honestly? At first I was like many who immediately were disappointed by its story execution and changes. Right out of the gate I was comparing it to the original and have realized there's no way I could be fair to this game and what it was trying to be if I had given it such a disservice. No way in hell this is a game anything below an 8. As a game itself, it is truly one hell of an immersive experience and oh my god what they did to those characters. Just seeing them presented like this in a game with such high visual fidelity is enough for me. They nailed every single character. Right now, all I can say is that the only thing I'm not too fond of are key story changes like that one "promise" scene just for a quick example. I felt now in this game it was just so out of place while in the original it was executed perfectly and was shown at the perfect time in the story. So just things like **** yeah, the story is important to me when it comes to FF games but the bottomline is....I cannot deny the fact at how much fun I am having playing this game. No matter what, I prefer it to games like The Witcher 3 and Skyrim - those just aren't my thing. So yeah, this game truly delivers from a character development standpoint, visual standpoint, sound, art design and especially the gameplay and how well executed I thought it all was. It just always felt so satisfying to just play. So if I just let the story go for a bit and don't compare it to the perfect original's story, I find myself enjoying it more. Do I wish it followed the story a bit more closer to the original? Sure. Is the game slightly disappointing in this way? Yeah, maybe. But all in all, every scene still blew me away and some of the new added sequences were absolute FIRE to watch. There's no denying the care that went into this project and I can appreciate that for all its worth. And the most important thing? When I'm not playing it all I do is think about just getting back into that world. Because honestly, it's probably the most spectacular world ever created in a game for me. And to me that speaks volumes. Midgar is truly a living, breathing city now and that alone gives this game an ultimate pass.

What can I truly say here that hasn't been said already??? I mean, the praise this game is getting should already be enough. Hell, you probably don't even have to read **** already KNOW this game is absolutely without a shadow of doubt a masterpiece in survival horror. One of the easiest "10's" I have given out in recent memory. That is all that is required of me to say. RE is back with this one, and BY FAR the greatest RE game ever crafted. This thing **** you in with its atmosphere like no other game this generation and I gotta tell you....when it's all finally over I had this sense of "sadness" like I just did not want this experience to end. Truly, truly remarkable gaming experience in every sense of the word. For me? Game of 2019, just barely edging out God of War. Now GO BUY IT if you haven't already. You should get a good deal on it now.

Ridge Racer V10
Apr 18, 2020
Unburied my PS2 and have it connected to my 43" 4K LGTV with component cables and let me tell you. I don't care what anyone else thinks but this is still the greatest arcade racer I have ever played which makes it also the best darn Ridge Racer you can get! This game still looks and plays better than I ever remembered from back when I first got the PS2 on launch. This game has style. Atmosphere. Graphics. 60 fps. Sound and music all top notch! Where to even begin? The best game up to this point was RR4, no doubt about it and this game just edges it out due to its sheer focused gameplay like someone else here had mentioned already in the reviews. This game just takes away the stuff that I felt wasn't necessary in RR4 (like the story segments) and just completely, heavily emphasizes the very immersive arcade driving. I cannot begin to even describe just how awesome this game feels at its blistering 60fps while looking as good as it does. You just don't have games being made like this especially on launch. This was state of the art at the time and yet a very under rated game (as this franchise has always been.) Honestly? The only thing I can understand anyone even remotely complaining about are course variety. Namco chose to go back to its original roots and have all the courses take place in one city. So yeah, there's not much to go by if ya want more variety in scenery. But the fact remains, these are brilliantly constructed and executed courses with a lot of thought put into it. I love how it's all designed and it just works. You see areas in the course that were previously closed off but now are opened through for another section to race on - and I just love it because this city is just so damn cool to drive in. Here we are, 2020, and I'm writing a review for a game released in 2000. It just goes to show you the impact this one had on me. Even to this day, there is no experience that is on this level. On the surface, you may feel like you're not getting much for your buck but when you actually pay close attention to the details and how well everything is executed here, you'll quickly realize they just don't make them like they used to. This is absolute quality on the finest level and I embrace its simplicity because of the way this game **** you in and never lets go. I had to come back to this one simply because it's in my opinion, the DEFINITIVE Ridge Racer experience and no boosts or anything like that that take away from the "core" driving. The racing games made today just simply do not hold a candle to this right here and I played them all - Gran Turismo, DriveClub, Need for Speed....they all just fail to deliver that amazing, classic "Ridge Racer" feel. I always say to this to people....this game has a feeling unique to its own. Nothing else on the market feels like it and nothing ever will due to Namco giving up on this series. Ridge Racer 7 is great (but feels too "glidey" like "flying") but when it comes down to it, RRV is where it's at. Namco truly cared when developing this game.

SotN was a true masterpiece for its time. A critically-acclaimed game and heralded as one of the greatest games ever crafted. Stunning musical composition, awesome 2D sprite-based graphics, amazing level design and addictive game mechanics. It's just one of those games that doesn't shy away from being, well...a GAME! It's basically a gamers wet dream. And people have been waiting for AGES on a sequel. Well, here it is! In spirit. This is EVERYTHING SotN was and maybe more with some top-notch voice talent even. This is a beautiful, beautiful looking game with a gorgeously orchestrated soundtrack and stunning to look at backdrops. I don't think a 2D side-scroller has impressed me THIS much since, you got it - SotN! And dammit that says a lot for me. I was very skeptical that they were going to pull this off but it is even SUPERIOR to what I could have ever imagined. This is one of those games I enjoy so damn much that I want to take my time with it. It is seriously just that good. I cannot stress this enough. If you like SotN or Castlevania games in general, this is something you simply cannot miss. This is probably the best Castlevania game that isn't called "Castlevania." And I think simply for that reason people will dismiss it and reviews may not be as high as SotN's. If this had the "Castlevania" name, it would probably get like 95/100 across the boards. Guys, IGA did it! Castlevania has basically returned in spiritual form. I'm actually not finished with the game yet but played enough to know when I see a masterpiece. This is already one of the best gaming experiences I've had in a very, very long time.

Whoa, just whoaaa...hold on a second, here. Am I reading ALL these reviews correctly??? Am I even playing MK11 here, or what? Because from what I have played it is damn well the best MK yet. The polish and love the developers have given this game can be seen all over the damn screen. If you loved MKX, then it's a no brainer. The game clearly stepped up a notch. Sorry, I'd have given it a 9 but the 10 goes out automatically to the INSANE 0's plastered all over this site. Clearly users have no clue how to review games. It's a great thing they are NOT official. Why am I not surprised, considering the controversy the game arose already based on the SJW garbage. *Facepalms* I can't believe we're even at this point....just sit back and enjoy an awesome game! Not everything always has to be about politics. Also, ****'t gamers want to be rewarded for unlocking stuff? I mean, everything in the game is obtainable. They're not forcing you to pay. It has been this way since MK9, no one was saying **** about that (I still haven't unlocked stuff in THAT game because lack of coins....just didn't feel like earning them anymore.) Anyway, MK11 features the BEST Liu Kang, the BEST Johnny Cage, the BEST Scorpion and all the other characters are either on par or already give justice to their already iconic status.

Honestly, I have no clue how this game has over a 9 from the user score. Seriously??? I bought this back in the day and it was alright - I actually ended up beating it. I guess it was fine as a 19 year old lol. But man, it sure is dated and did not age well like FFVII has and well...this is NO FFVII even though it wants to be. I tried it out recently and couldn't play it for more than 30 min. The music (even though it does get good later on with a few themes) isn't great for the most part. The graphics are only good for the water effects and the battle system is slow paced and don't get me started on the story and especially writing. It's so boring and the writing has no soul or charisma. I can get through the story of FFVII even today but this is just stale and lifeless. The characters act and more importantly feel so mechanical and not like real people at all. It really throws things off and makes me not care about the game's story at all. I did care back in 2000 but now, I truly find it difficult to keep myself invested in this. Sorry, but I can understand why this did not get a sequel. It just isn't that good.

Oh **** opening segment leading up to the credits is the greatest damn opening I have ever played through in a videogame, Jesus, what a way to get you started. So much so in fact, I immediately had to start over and play it again. I just had to!!! That alone deserves a 10. In Naughty Dog i trust! Always...this game might even surpass TLoU if only because it is just so fun to play. The controls are tight and **** voice-over work and ESPECIALLY the reall-time facial animations conveying so much emotion. I have never been so impressed with a videogame. Best $90 I have ever spent. This game is a keeper and there is no way it will ever leave my side.
