I love “walking simulators” like this and this one was **** game looked great and the VA was really good. But it felt like it was missing something. It has very scary moments but otherwise in between those moments it’s kinda mundane. The story would’ve benefited from maybe taking more time before the bad thing kicked off as it feels like outside of a couple characters you don’t really get to know anyone. Also the story is pretty standard. It didn’t need a crazy twist or anything but it’s all just kinda basic. I feel badsounding so negative. It’s genuinely good. 100% give it a go if it’s your kinda game. But It’s been done before and better

IMO this game nails the sense of of tension that the series is known for while also making the action sections feel satisfying as well. You feel like there’s multiple viable strategies for completing each mission. It’s punishing yet you always have ways to get out of tough situations you’ve worked yourself into. There’s some negatives though. The games more than a little glitchy. I’ve only had to quit out once and the rest are more visual or not game breaking but it’s still frustrating to see. Also there’s a stealth system and a “awareness” system that are both good ideas but the execution on both is not quite perfect. Stealth is an interesting idea but you don’t have direct control over your units so sometimes you’ll make the right call but a unit will get caught on a corner or something and blow it. Overall if they iron out the bugs I think I’d call this more of a 8 but right now it needs to be Patched

A great mix of strategy and sport. The races are varied as are the strategies you can use for each of them. The balance between it's aspects makes it appealing to people who are fans of either. Graphics are nice. The characters are for the most part the typical WOW style human, Orc, light elve, dark elve, humanoid animals, etc. but are well designed and offer nice variety visuals wise. There are different classes that all have different skills and attributes. While any character can do any role (blocking, blitzing, passing, throwing, catching, etc) the attributes set a clear guideline in who is ment for what role the best. There are some downsides. If you've played the recent XCOM games youve atleast probably heard people complaining about how unfair and biased it seemed. This game is no better and infact is seemingly worse with the TURNOVER mechanic. Basically in this game every single action that's not moving (except for moving an extra couple squares past your regular range, which carries a risk of tripping) has a percentage chance of failing, and if you fail ANY of them your turn is over. For some decisions this can add to the strategizing and planning out a full turn. But it happens on EVERY possible move. The other team kicks the ball off to start the game and your guy goes to pick it up, at a seemingly always 67% chance of actually picking it up your turn can be ended in an instant. Plus moves like passing the ball can have up to 3 chances to fail. Your thrower can fumble the throw, your catcher can drop the pass, and a player on the other team can block the pass. The TURNOVER mechanic can be a neat addition at times. But it's over used and can take over a game single handedly and take the control away from the player in what should be a game where they can plan ahead without having to worry about every single move ending their turn. There are also technical issues. CPU ai can occasionally freeze up at the start of their turn for a bit. Not for long and it's rare. but I've played a few hours and I've seen it happen enough to know its not exactly rare. That and ai players will occasionally move to a space then ice skate a few spaces over to where I assume the ai actually wanted them to go. Not a huge issue because it all happens on their turn. But it's a weird bug that again happens a bit. A bit clearer of a tutorial might have been nice. The campaign starts off with a pretty hands off style one. Or maybe it isnt because mine got stuck on "press X to select a character" early on. But it's actually not a complicated game once you get things figured out. Plus campaign is generous in introducing mechanics at a decent pace. I realize that my review is more negative then positive and my score is pretty average. But this really is a good game. It rewards players for having good strategies and for good planning. It's something that even not huge strategie game players like myself can pick up and play and have enough success in without having the door slammed in my face by a massive learning cure set up to satisfy more veteran players who have higher demands, yet it also feels like its a game that does reward people for being better at it. So people on any level can enjoy their own experience with it. But the inclusion of a luck mechanic can make it frustrating. The possibility of a move failing and having that be potentially costly instead of just letting you get away with it is a big part of making a decision have weight. But IMO BB2 takes this idea and goes a bit too far with it. Having the high risk moves like deep passes and "making a run for it" have downsides is a great touch. But things like having your guys pick up the ball with nobody within 10 spaces of you at the start **** or getting in a "battle sequence" and getting the tie option turns the idea of going "ok. I'm going to grab the ball then plan my turn" into "oh god I hope I can actually do anything". It's a needless aspect that can turn cautious strategizing into relying purely on a number generator. It might seem petty. But if the turnover feature was tweaked slightly it would actually have a big impact on my view of the game. I've just had it come up way too much. I'll make this point separate. Apparently online for this game is horrible for players quitting. Not the games fault but it's a problem that's coming up. TLDR + Appealing balance of sports and strategy + Varying races that offer different strategies + Gameplay gives you freedom to play how you want. It doesn't feel like there's a way to play that the game feels like its trying to herd you towards playing. - The luck aspect of the game feels way too harsh at certain points, especially the parts that really shouldn't involve it. - Technically this isn't the strongest game. - The game does a poor job of disproving the "AI bias" belief that was also I'm XCOM. I know it's not true, but seeing the AI get away with constant low percentage plays can be frustrating

A really good tower defense game. There are multiple factions you can play as who differ in both looks and gameplay. There is a single player mode that is essentially a wave survival mode where you oversee a defensive position, but can also commandeer any of the turrets or the occasional vehicle/hero character (both work in the same way gameplay wise with both a health bar and timer limiting your use. The differences being that vehicles will respaw after 2 minutes while Hero characters are tied to you directly killing units.. It doesnt get as repetitive as you would think due to the creative environments and changing enemy factions. As you progress and beat missions you get coins that you can spend in the shop to unlock new units/upgrades to your turrets. There are quite a few different armies to play as. WW1 Germans, Futuristic Space marines, and a few others, as well as some recognizable franchises such as GI Joe, He Man, Cobra and Assassins Creed 2 teams. I've only played as the first two so far and both are very different. IE, the Germans artillery has a longer range but the space marines have better anti-air guns. I'm interested in the franchise armies but they are seemingly locked behind a pay wall. I'm not anti-micro transactions or anything. But paying 1/3 of the price of the whole game for a single team isn't thrilling me I'm assuming that the $30 dollar version has all of that included, so if you are willing to put in a bit extra up front go with that one. The armies all have different visuals and gameplay tweaks. But they all play the same. You get limited number of spaces to build turrets, consisting of anti infantry/vehicle/air and an artillery gun. All of these units can have their health/attack/range upgraded up to 3 times. Although all of the upgraded above the first one are locked at the beginning they are quickly unlocked by playing. There are a few negatives. The AI on the non player controlled cannons are usually ok for handling their own unless they're overwhelmed, and they will target units that are closer to your base. But occasionally they'll let some units walk on by while it targets a unit in the back of the group, as well as occasionally not firing at full capacity (a group of units will be nearby and the gun will occasionally pause and stand there, I'm aware of the guns needing to reload, which happens, but occasionally I'll notice a gun acting weird). Another issue is that despite having good visuals, some units, especially planes can be really hard to find, the worst case being on the space level or airplanes flying against a similarly colored background, the characters are given bright colors to stand out but especially when there's a lot going on it can be real hard to figure out what's happening. Another issue I have is that while most campaign levels are really well designed, there are a couple that I really didn't care for. Eventually I figured out most of them although the one I am presently stuck on is proving to be more frustrating then being a genuine challenge. One last thing that kinda bugs me is that the hit detection in this game isn't great. Even when targeting enemy towers I've had my shots go right through due to being at an odd but not really that difficultnof an angle. Probably the worst case I've had has been trying to shoot down airplanes from my own plane. There is a degree of challenge with air vs air combat, but even when you take leading your targets and such into account it still feels like your shots are not registering when they should. I haven't played any multiplayer at this point. If you're a fan of tower defense games this is definitely worth picking up. It has it's problems, but none of them get in the way of having a good time.

I'm not a big Borderlands fan, so when this was released on Live I decided to give it a shot solely on it being TTG, and boy am I satisfied. As far as gameplay goes, it's still the same old TT style of choosing conversations to steer the story, plus the unfortunately still occasionally clumsy Interactive gameplay segments that are essentially the bulk of all combat. But there isn't too much, so it's acceptable. Where the games strength lies is in its writing. I enjoyed TTs writing in previous series' like TWD and TWAO. But I'd personally say this games writing is a step above. The inclusion of a lot more humor feels appropriate despite the rather harsh and brutal setting, which I guess has always been Borderlands style. But it's executed well here. I wouldn't call the writing perfect exactly, there's some cliches and odd writing moments. But all in all I enjoy it, and I'm relatively hard to please normally with writing. The one negative thing I'd say is that if I had one big negative on TT games it's that, despite choices that do occasionally carry weight, most of the time you realistically always end up in the exact same spot. I get and understand why this is (having a hundred different endings would be insane) but at the same time occasionally it gets shoehorned in when your straying a bit off the eventual end result. This is actually kept to a relative minimum this time around. Granted its only part 1, so it's still just branching out, well see how it goes from here. That being said, there is one big moment near the end where your presented with a few different options. But it's obvious no matter what you choose, if you go A,B,C or D, X will always happen. Side notes. Loading times are a bug, plus it has the almost traditional TT occasional running issues. I'd say about a Third of all the scenes started with weird bugging, including having the audio play to a blank screen, only for the video and audio to replay seconds later. Weird and unfortunate but never game breaking. Although I had one part where it felt like the game crashed, but eventually worked itself out. The length is VERY satisfying. I felt myself wondering if they had released the whole thing at once at a point. TLDR: Good writing and VO. Cool characters that do need some inevitable development but a good start, technical issues are buggy but not terrible, should have been ironed out at this point in TTs existence i feel, gameplay is the same from TWD season 2 and TWAU both good and bad, great length for its value. Is enjoyable for non-borderlands fans. Worth buying.

I rented this game the other day to basically kill some time. I knew this was a sequel/ based on a couple games that have come out over the last few years that I've heard good things about. So when I started playing it I was disappointed. It doesn't really seem to want to do anything new. I have little experience with the series of games (I played the demo for Fall of Cybertron) but this felt like... The same game. Graphic in general are eh. The character models are pretty good. And the environments have their moments, but for the most part it averages out to ok. As good as the models are in general, it can be hard to tell major characters apart, especially during gameplay, atleast when theyre still in Cybertron. Maybe fans of the series can easily do it, and non-fans shouldn't be pandered to at the expense of the series. But it could've been done a bit better. Enemy designs are typical "all grunts are clones" setup. Can't blame them for it, and I guess for robots it makes sense. But it's a trope that's getting more then a bit tired. A.I is a mess. Allied characters will get stuck on walls, stop firing and just stand there in fights, get lost, hold up the mission, and basically every AI problem under the sun. But when they're working they can actually be helpful. Enemies are again meh. They can pathfinder alright, but they don't have much strategie. "get within shooting range and shoot" basically. The story is alright for what the game/franchise is. "Super awesome powerful doomsday weapon that was strangely never mentioned before and never will again" situation. The dialoge ranges from awkward to actually pretty decent banter between characters. Few other points. Some level design is clums, having platform ing sections that rely on a really unwieldy boost jump. Some enemy characters are weirdly unbalanced and needlessly strong (flying drones a couple levels in will SLAUGHTER you) while others could've been a bit more of a fight. Its not a bad game. It kinda has a Batman Arkham Origins vibe of "do what the last guys did". But outside of some occasionally funny bad AI I can't say it's ever really bad.

Fails at what it sets out to do. Canned move set instead of freedom. Might as well play with controller, game play outside of "kinect gameplay" is generic and uninspired. Fails at what it specifically tries to do and feels like it's trying to mock the buyer from buy a kinect.
