It is a good game and all but without leaderboards it just feels incomplete. I wish Microsoft would just make it free to play. It is the perfect game to do it with.

Most underrated game on the 360 and a masterpiece. If you like adventure games in any way in the mold of Zelda or Banjo Kazooie you owe it to yourself to play this. Almost perfect.

I am not even gonna bother with a review. Capcom and it's business practice with this game is terrible for the industry. If you buy this game you will open up more $20 DLC on the disc in the future.. Just pass on it and hopefully Capcom will suffer enough with sales that they will change their practices. As for me and Capcom ore relationship is over.

Mirror's Edge10
Jul 13, 2012
EA (A company hated for different reasons in the game community for really no reason) has done gamers proud this console generation with several good franchises including many new ones like Dead Space. But Mirror's Edge is not only their best new IP. It is one of their best games period. The story is OK. You are a carrier named Faith who needs to figure out why her sister is framed. Lot's of small twist in the story to keep things fresh. For instance why is Faith and her sister o the wrong side of the law? It is all explained. They way the story is explained however is irritating. It is done in a cartoon like story clip that really does not match the rest of the game. It really is not even a comic book look either. Just flat cartoon. So much more could of been done. The in game graphics though are flat out unbelievable. To this day it is still one of the most stunning videogames to look at. Lots of white dot the landscaped including the bloom of the light. The sky is blue of course and most of the other environment elements are yellow and red with a few colors here and there. Yes. It sounds plain but the look has a purpose. Everything red is your map sort of speak and you use the red to objects to navigate the landscape. But all of the objects in the game are beautifully textured with pipes that sweat, walls with different types of mapping. IT IS HARD TO APPRECIATE IT TILL YOU SEE IT! This is done at a good frame rate with very few graphical glitches. The sound is great and I expect nothing less from EA although some of the voice work is a little meh! The song in the opening is one of the best tracks I have heard in a game for the way it sets the mood and setting. Controls are completely original as well and the only other game you can compare it to is the old XBOX game breakdown and in some ways Condemned and Riddick. You can run, slide, fist fight, use weapons, and navigate but it is all done in first person. The shooting mechanics are solid but ammo is hard to find so running is the best option. You have several moves to take weapons from enemies and after a while it actually feels natural. The navigating however can get sticky sometimes but seeing as this is a completely new way to play a game and the fact it is done a lot better than you would expect I am not gonna complain. There is not a multiplayer option but you have yellow backpacks to collect and speed trials you can do and after you beat the game a Hardcore option opens. The game is a long game by today's standards and unique boss fights and environments (Not in look but design) keeps the game fresh. Hopefully a sequel comes because a lot can be done with this franchise. Completely unique, gorgeous to look at, and interesting enough for multiple play through's. One of the few must plays this generation and it is a shame it did not get the recognition from fans it deserved.

Tekken 67
Jul 10, 2012
Thanks to Capcom.....I have decided to trade my Capcom games for Namco ones. Did I do the right thing? Well? First of all I have owned every Tekken game since the second one on PS1 but I have never took it very seriously. It was mainly for get togethers with friends and it was usually not the first game we picked up. I always enjoyed other fighters more. Also- I downloaded Dark Resurrection on the PSN store and have played all of maybe 30 minutes total time. Safe to say the series fell off my radar. So my expectations were somewhat low. Now the review. Tekken 4 is my favorite in the series and widely considered the most hated. Still wanna read my review? The gameplay is exactly what I remembered. Ignorant juggles, fighters that do not move back and forward very well, strange double tap motions in order for your fighter to run, strange jumping where you almost have to do a move to get them in the air, the ability to move into the background and foreground. And yet it is noob friendly where just tapping buttons can give you a victory over a decently good player. Each button on the face of the controller is a limb. Easy enough to remember and the gameplay is nice and deep. Bit the characters movement ****. It always has in this series. And I am shocked that the juggle happy game play is liked so much. This game was released in the arcades in 2007 and it looks it. It was even released late on consoles so it looked dated by the time it even saw a console release. To be honest it is only a minimal step up from Tekken 5. However after a 2 hour play period I noticed the animations are greatly approved even with the lame fighter movement and the lighting is improved as well. The blur did nothing for me and the color flashed and sparks that happen when a kick or punch lands is even more overdone than before. It does not effect gameplay so no harm no foul. The backgrounds which is something I personally judge harshly in a fighter are for the most part plain and boring. A drop in quality from five by a considerable margin The fighters look good but are quite jaggie. But for as old as it is I am sure it would of looked better to me if I reviewed it 2 years ago. Fighters- I am not digging the new fighters. The chic with the chainsaw hands is dumb and does not fit in the series at all. The other fighters are either cheap or bland. The bosses (A giant robot and a dragon made out of crystal, and Jin who is the Tekken Champion are all 3 cheap. Even on east the characters are cheap. The robot is actually a bonus stage yet it counts against your win / loss record. But the final boss is by far the cheapest boss fight I have even faced in a fighter. Even on easy difficulty. I have no desire to ever play through the arcade again. The other game modes are the usual affair but there is an alternate story mode which plays like a really bad 3-D Streets of Rage clone with Tekken moves and characters. It is not very entertaining mode but for trophy junkies this is where you get most of them. As for fun factor I must say before I got to the boss fights I was having fun with it.. On my second day I actually played against a friend and an hour went by and we still were not bored. After a while we tried to use strategy and learn a few select fighters but I personally do not find the game appealing enough to study a fighter for day on end like I would a character in Virtua Fighter or even Mortal Kombat. Still, After the crap Capcom and Arc Systems are pulling with their games these days I need some fighting games for my UFC's and cookouts with friends. I believe SoulCalibur in Namco's best fighter but Tekken is a fun game that I am happy is in my collection. Hopefully the upcoming Tag Tournament 2 will be a marked improvement over this one and they fix they fighter movement. The stiffness and the speed or lack thereof when the fighters move forward and backwards is something I have never liked and still don't. But I guess that is what makes Tekken what it is. An above average fighter with a big following.

BlazBlue: Continuum Shift Extend8
Jul 9, 2012
Talking about milking a series. This is the forth Blazblue game to be released and there is only a minimal difference between the four. What the developers have done is basically release a new game, charge a ridiculous amount of money for DLC such as clothes and fighters.....some going as high as $8, and then releasing a new game with the add on content later. Only to have more DLC to buy later. Even worse some of the fighters you paid for are not even able to be used in most game modes. Hopefully, this will be the last of the milking. It is a great series but the bad business practices Aksys Games is using can best be described as criminal and they should be ashamed. As for this game as a stand alone product? It has the best fighting game backgrounds and only Mortal Kombat comes close, the fighters are well designed and none of them are clones (But there is still not enough of them), there is a terrible story mode but plenty enough here to justify a purchase..something most fighters do not have is enough meat on the bones- That is not a problem here. I have already reviewed this game before...3 other times so I am not gonna go in depth again. If you like fighters in any way the Blazblue series is the best new release in years but make sure you get this one. The complete version. Shame on the publisher and developer. If it wasn't for the greed and terrible loyalty to the customers.....This game would of scored a ten.

Wolfenstein6
Jul 9, 2012
First of all this is a decent game but I feel like the FPS has evolved. Gone are the days of simple shooting mechanics in a decent enough story. Crysis, Bioshock, Snydicate, Deus Ex, The Darkness, and Halo have all shown that you need more than guns, grenades, and something to shoot to stand out. Even the Call of Duty and Battlefields of the world offer more variety and a large and deep multiplayer campaign. Wolfenstein feels ancient, almost like it belongs on the original XBOX. As for this version of Wolfenstein as a game? Well, It isn't the brilliant Return to Castle Wolfenstein on the original XBOX but it is a solid single player game. First of all shame on Activision. Raven Software is a great development team but Activision refuses to advertise their games. Quake 4, Soldier of Fortune, and Singularity had no advertisement and were set up to fail. Activision did the same thing to Bizarre Creations. It's a shame. As for Wolfenstein you again play B.J who is the last thing **** wanna see. It is pretty obvious that Singularity was developed at the same time as Wolfenstein because both games involve going in and out of time. Even the green sheen from the veil looks just like Singularity. Basically you have to stop the **** by going into the veil which is a parallel universe to stop the **** from creating a weapon of mass destruction. And as always there is the **** backdrop where they are messing around with the super natural and doing more harm than good. But it gives Raven unlimited resources into creating a wide variety of enemies with several different powers. The game is set up in a small section of a town which is basically a hub. The problem is the hub is where you spend a third of the game and it is not really anything special. You are constantly going back and forth to find missions and fighting ****. It all looks the same but at least the map is easy to navigate. Luckily once the mission starts there is a lot of variety and the game opens up a bit. The graphics which are based on the old ID engine hold up barely. There is nothing really special about the games look but it remains solid through out the game if a little bland. The environmental objects are surprisingly destructible and the lighting and textures are solid. It is a good looking game. One thing the game excels at in sound. The guns sound loud and powerful. Of course being a WWII setting all of the guns are familiar. Luckily the **** have created a few gems to toy with later in the game. Most people know by now that shooters these days are around 5 to 8 hours long. However it took me about 10 hours on the normal settings. I guess it depends on the player. One thing you will not spend time with is the multiplayer. This was a disappointment. The great graphics from the single player are gone, the frame rate is suspect, the upgrade system takes way to long, and finding players on the PS3 is a choir. In fact the PS3 version suffers from glitches that have never been fixed. It is a waste of time. Here is the sad fact. Raven has made way to many games this gen with the Marvel and Wolverine games and three shooters. Singularity was in my opinion the game they really wanted to make. Even in Game Informer a while back a few of the guys even said Singularity was there most important title for them. Ironically Wolfenstein is the better single player campaign. Singularity ended up being delayed and I wonder if Activision cut them off and they had to go ahead and release it when they were not ready. So both Wolfenstein and Singularity suffered. Now Raven has basically vanished from the gaming scene and have been helping Infinity Ward with multiplayer maps. If they made one game at a time I positive both would of been better games. As it stands now Wolfenstein is a great bargain bin pick up because the single players story and missions are great. The multiplayer as disappointing as it is will not have anyone playing it anyways. Hopefully Raven will concentrate on one game at a time in the future. I good game that should of been great. Worth the $12 I spent for it but I am not sure I would spend any more

Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception8
Jul 7, 2012
I think this series has ran it's course. Make no mistake, this is Dude Raider. Everyone has played this series by now but this game just could not reach the level of the second Uncharted. And there is nothing wrong with that. Uncharted 3 still has great writing, it wraps the back stories up well, the voice work is top notch however I am a little tired of Nolan North at this point. It still has a cinematic feel that is above almost every other game, the graphics are still in the top 5% on consoles. But it still has the same average gameplay and after a few hours you are more interested in what is next and how the story goes. The gun fights just gets in the way after a while. I am not trying to say this is a bad game, I am just burned out on the series. It is still one of the best games on the PS3 and Uncharted is almost certainly the best series created this generation. This is a great game and it should be played but this also should be the last in the series.

GRID (2008)9
Jul 7, 2012
I love the game Engine Codemasters uses. The lighting and bloom with the soft look and shine on the cars is a sight to behold. **** game itself. It controls like a dream but there will be a little tweaking involved. Every car feels different. I do not think this is a sim based racer at all so I think it compares more to a Project Gotham instead of a Forza or GT. The handling feels like its own game and there is nothing wrong with that. The drifting is also the best I have seen. One problem......Because of the look of the game there are a few tracks where it is pretty easy to hit something on the side of the track. The soft textures are gorgeous but when there is bloom shining down onto the track you sometimes do not see the little things and like most racers you will stop dead in your tracks. Also this game tends to turn you sideways. They also need to fix a problem in the sequel. And that is the grass making you come to almost a complete stop. It is unrealistic and just plain stupid. Now- The car list is small but they have the cars that should be there and the look great. Codemasters always has the best in game liveries and this is no different. There is just enough customization to the look and parts for the cars but it is behind the competition. I personally hardly ever tinker in the garage in these games but for some that could be a drawback. The cars like I said before look great. The tracks- OK. I am sick of seeing the same tracks. Every developer used the same real world circuits and it is getting old. They are not really that fun to play on and every game ends up looking the same. Obviously, the soft look of Grid gives it a more unique look but how many times do I have to rave on these tracks? Thankfully, the fantasy tracks are second to none and Codemasters thankfully gave Grid more than the competition All are well designed. There is also a good variety of race types including a derby style race and drift racing including the Japanese downhill races which are my favorites. As for the sound I honestly can't remember the music but the cars sounded great and your team does not irritate you in any way. Codemasters has presentation down to a T and the career setup is wonderfully done and set up in a way it does not get repetitive and you open up cars or tracks regularly. It is not perfect but it is a worthy sequel to the Race Driver franchise and in my opinion the best street racer on the market other than PGR4. But there is a sequel coming and I expect it to take the crown from PGR4. I CAN'T RECOMMEND THIS GAME ENOUGH!!!! What it lacks in car selection it makes up for it with a quality instead of quantity battle. The tracks are also the best selection in the genre. The graphics and lighting could be considered a personal taste but I think they just stand high above almost every other racer out there. But the lighting is the best out **** question. The best street racer this gen. Between Grid, F1, and the Dirt series, Codemasters is now the king of the genre. Highly recommended.

DiRT 210
Jul 7, 2012
The best racing game of all time. That basically sums it up. I normally write long reviews and detailed reviews but I don't feel I need to here. The presentation in beautiful. The loading screens and game set up screens are wonderfully done. If I had to complain it takes a little long to get in a race and the game does not give you very many name choices when you set up your career. But Codemasters racing does presentation better than anyone except EA. That is praise by the way. The sound is great. The license music is good and only plays during replays and loading or set-up screens. The graphics are amazing. Like, Grid the game has a soft but pleasant look with the best lighting in any racing game. Better than Forza 4 and GT5. The bloom is everywhere but it is not distracting and I actually think Dirt 3 is not as good looking as this version. I think Codemasters has the best graphics engine for racing games. The textures, sky **** just works and looks great. I do have a few complains. The dirt particles are wonderful but the tires do not leave any marks. It is a slight complain and does not distract from the gameplay but I WANNA SEE THAT IN THE FUTURE! To me that is important. It would be great if a torn up track could effect control. Make it happen. The control is perfect. Sega Rally was the king for a long long time and I thought Codemasters old Colin McRae games did not get the physics right. They just controlled like cars to me on the street. Not here. If you hit lose dirt you will know it. Car selection is the normal Rally Cars you have seen for years, The Focus, WRX, and Lancer are all here. They look great, the cars have a beautiful reflection to them, the **** pits look great, and the car liveries are the best I have seen. The track selection is the best in the genre. Thank God I do not have to race on the same boring real world tracks that populate every other racer. Here you have cities converted into mud holes, you race in different times of the day, there are at least 8 different race types and several unlockables to keep the game fresh. Codemasters are the king of keeping the game fresh. That includes the career which is the best in the business. It is set up brilliantly and you are constantly opening up cars, tracks, and special events. No repetitive career here. Also no Gymkhana crap like Dirt 3 has. This is all racing and there is so much variety it is impossible to get bored. The best part? All of it is available online and unlike the first Dirt you have racing as well as the time trials and the lag is hardly ever an issue. Between the great tracks and track variety, the game engine which is the best in the business, the great career mode and online modes, the lighting, and most importantly the best control and physics of any off road racer, Dirt 2 is the king of the genre and it is so dominate over the competition it isn't fair. Even the 1st party titles from Sony and Microsoft that gets all the media attention (Forza and Gran Turismo) pales to what Codemasters have created. The Codemasters team recently released an arcade racer titled Dirt Showdown. The game is great but it is not really a "Dirt" game. This is a different beast and a much better game in general. Codemasters have also decided to just be a racing studio and that is great news. Grid is also an amazing game and even though I am not an F1 fan, Codemasters and there understanding of racers was enough for me to pick that up as well. But the fact is Dirt is there true baby. And they have treated the second installment with much respect. It is truly the Halo or Uncharted of the racing genre and one of the best games I ever played period.

Syndicate (2012)9
Jul 5, 2012
First of all I have no attachment to the original and only played it a few times. I know it has some kind of "Don't touch" policy with the PC community but I would rather review the game based on it's own merits. Something tells me if this game was not a :Syndicate" reboot but just a new franchise it probably would of been more welcomed. Either way, it is a great game that has been under appreciated. Story- Same as Deus Ex and every other sci-fi shooter set in the future. You (Miles Kilo) work for a corporation called Eurocorp and you are not sure if you are working for the right folks. I am not a fan of revealing stories so let's just leave it at that. I will say the developers (Starbreeze) are known for their story telling in previous work like The Darkness and Riddick. Expect the same here. I will say the voice work is marvelous. Brian Cox is great, Rosario Dawson does good voice work as well. The best is probably Michael Wincott of The Crow, Aliens Resurrection, and Metro fame. Gameplay Is actually great and I was worried about this coming in. Starbreeze really struggled with The Darkness in this category and I could never get comfortable playing it. No problems here. They nailed the gameplay. The weapons in the game are the normal variety and most of them have secondary functions. You get the Machine guns, rifles of all varieties, and shotguns and pistols with very few standouts opening along the way. The few grenade types are standard as well. Again without to many spoilers the weapons are effective and you do get a few surprises. The standout weaponry here is the special powers you have. The DART inlay shows the different augmentations you have and you get a small practice area you are graded on when opening these up. Just a few are vision enhancements, a suicide augmentation that cause the enemy to turn the gun on themselves, and the standard mine jack where they turn on their fellow soldiers. Plenty of more and they are cool to use. Also- Getting these by digging into the boss characters you put away through the game is cool as well. Speaking of the boss fights are very well done. The first boss for example can only be killed be a certain weapon (No spoilers here....remember) and he gets help from fellow soldiers when you get the upper hand To make it harder for you he can teleport as well as split his body from one to four different individuals. There is also fights on top of a train against a military copter and that is all in the first hour of the 8 to 10 hour game. It is well paced however the challenge, even on normal is pretty high. There is a certain do it once to learn, and the do it again to succeed pace that can throw some people off. Also I got stuck in certain sections of the game because it was hard to tell where to go or where you were being ambushed from. Yet in certain big battles I flew through it. Not a deal breaker but it interrupts flow in a way. Presentation- This is EA. For all the hate they receive they know presentation. The menu's and voice acting is outstanding. Menu's are slick. Options are well done and laid out well. Graphics- I think the cyberpunk look is outstanding but it is probably a preferred taste. They love their whites such as buildings and walls. Think Mirror's Edge. The game also has a soft sheen to it and the lighting and bloom is the best I have seen in a game. The problem is it is way overdone. Some people will not like it. But it is unique to say the least. Another thing is everything gets read by your DART inlay. Small thinks like cans and pictures will have a little ad pop up above them. It is not uncommon to have 10 to 15 things lighting up with the white ad above it at one time while you are fighting 8 enemies at once. Not to mention the normal things onscreen like the life bars, ammo clips,ECT. It gets distracting at times but again, it is unique. The sound is great as well. Guns, the ambiance, the city streets all sound alive. Again, It is EA. The multiplayer is co-op only and is probably for the best because Starbreeze has not made a good multiplayer game yet. It is like the rest of the game, unique. It is also very team based and there will be problems finding three other players that will work with you and talk with you on how to beat the level. It is a big co-op experience but the difficulty setting is high. But it is worth it. You will get a sense of accomplishment beating a level and the teamwork aspect will make you appreciate the players skills and teamwork you beat a level with. A rare thing these days. EA took a chance with this game and sales or not, Starbreeze made yet another excellent title. I cannot stress enough how unique the game feels and even though the weapons and most augmentations have been seen before, it is done well here. A smart shooter worth picking up regardless of the absence of a Versus mode.

Gran Turismo 5 XL Edition6
Jul 5, 2012
It is a good game but Sony and Polyphony really dropped the ball this gen with this series. First of all, if you don't have a 360 or hate Microsoft for whatever reason you might as well buy this. This review will not change your mind. Presentation- Well the case is nice. In all honesty the load times and install are terrible. The menu system is cluttered and the option menu for controls and music and such is hidden. The music in the menu sounds like something off of a Sears Shopping Network. Graphics- Mixed. Sometimes it is the best looking racer and sometimes...well? The premium cars are great but most cars look like a PS2 reject. The premium choices are dumb, the tree's and spectators look like cut outs at times, there is pop-up in some courses that are empty and bland yet, there is none in the most visually impressive tracks. Why? Aside from the cars and lighting, It has fallen way behind Forza 4 and even Grid at times. The lighting is very well done here. Sound- Sounds like a racing game and this is what is a downer. You hear stories of Polyphony spending ludicrous amounts of time on sound design and you never notice it. There is also a Soundtrack but again.....I didn't notice. And I was not gonna search the menu's to find out who was on it. Cars- The Premium cars are great. The others are not. Clearly they are hear to make the box look impressive with the "We have this many cars!" ad. I guess they want to please everyone but one question? With this many years of development time, How did Microsoft get a larger number of cars that have a premium look and car interiors? Long lunches? Tracks- Again, developers need to quit using the same assets over and over. Real world tracks usually are not very fun to race on. The good tracks here are sadly the same ones we have seen since the original. The new tracks do nothing for me either. They look good but when the same tracks are in Forza, Shift, **** just gets old. Gran Turismo's fantasy tracks or whatever you wanna you want to call them really has not been upgraded much from the PS2 versions. Again. What has Polyphony done all of this time? The new tracks in Forza and Grid are much much better. Online-Again. They have fell behind. Extras- B Spec ****, I don't care to wash my car, the License test are fun for the most part, the garage is nice, deep, and detailed. But again, The exterior customs are a joke compared to Forza 4. And the models in Shift 2 with the different vinyls and stickers are better to look at when taking pics and replays. The Top Gear license was wasted here as well. The Nascar and Go Kart races sections of the game are cool bonus levels and the dirt racing is a nice edition. But all of these suffer from boring tracks with graphical glitches. Again, Why? Also- The damage is decent but Shift and Grid do it way better. Also the night racing is cool but done better in other games as well as the weather. But GT5XL has all of them in some form and for the most part does a pretty good job. As for the most important thing- Control is fine. The steering wheel control is flawless. With a controller every car has its own feel and the DS3 controller does a good job. No complaints. Also- The enemy AI is still the same old thing. It is like they drive a perfect line and when you bump them or spin them out they get back on it again. Fun factor? Not much. The career mode has a structure problem. There is not any variety in the racing but there is a good amount of racers on the track compared to competitor's games. But the mode is just set up to bore you and the long load times bore you before you get bored with the racing. If only they would mix it up some. Bottom line- It is a good racer with plenty to do but it is just so damn boring. Buy it on Thursday and them play it Thursday night when it finally finishes installing. Polyphony Digital did add plenty and patch it up and down to try and make it a better racing experience but they have just let the genre pass them by it seems. I do not care if they spent six weeks or 6 months perfecting engine sounds. That is not gonna make the game any better, Realistic? Sure. Fun? Nope. The racing here is great but it is a shame I am still driving on these real world bore fest and the same original from the PS1. I should also mention the game will do a number to your hard drive space. Not only has it's main competitor (Forza 4) beat it in almost every category, But PGR, Grid , and Shift 2 have beaten it where it counts. The tracks that make using the cars fun and the fun of playing the game either online or the modes the games provide. Let's hope we do not have to wait 5 or more years for the next version and Polyphony throws there bad habits out the window and approaches GT6 in a different way. For hardcore GT fans only......

Do not buy this game. The high priced DLC is ridiculous and Aksys Games has already released another version of the game. As for the game itself it a a 2D fighter that is a work of art and unique. AN absolutely beautiful work of art that is being scarred by terrible business practices that only hurts the consumer they are selling the product to. It is a shame such a great game cannot be recommended to purchase because of a companies greed and lack of respect to the fans of their product.
