The gameplay is ok. Gets a bit tedious mid to late in the story with the RTS elements in what should just be a beat 'em up. Where this game really shines is that it is authentically metal. Seriously, if you are a metal fan I would recommend playing it. It is a love story from Jack to heavy metal. Brilliant soundtrack, great in-jokes and a bunch of cameos (including Jack's Tenacious D bandmate, Kyle Gass, and metal gods like Ozzy, Lemmy, and Rob Halford)

As a game the mechanics are pretty good. As a game set in Middle Earth, this game ****. Little to no regard for the work of Tolkien. They could have set this anywhere and it would have been fine, but instead they wanted to tag along and ride the coat tails of a successful franchise without having to to adhere to the canon
