The only thing that's really missing from this game for me is a more original storyline and loveable sidekicks like Kenji. The Japanese voicing is top knotch.

Game is a 10/10 for me. I loved the nostalgia trip, rescuing a the little bots and even the more challenging levels were fun. One of the best games I've played this year.

Did it need a remaster? No. But if you enjoyed the game and are eligable for the $10 upgrade and are looking to touch it again, it's 4 hours in outside of two loading bugs the game has looked good and played smooth in performance mode.

I really enjoyed Burning Shores when it came, but the writing of the forced sexuality/romance didn't make any sense and it would've been better if the whole part was optional rather than the end of it. Or just maybe written well instead of just throwing it in there.

Rise of the Ronin is a very fun game, imo. I love the combat in this game, the soundtrack is great, it has a character creator so you can play as whatever you want. The weapon system, which also ties into the bonding system is customizable, so if you want to run around with a spear, Katana, naginata, odachi, or even a gun, you can. That's all 10/10. The only things that really holds the game back is the graphics. I enjoyed the art style but the fidelity could've been better optimized and some of the shadows could've been done better. But really, it's always been gameplay over graphics. And gameplay is where this game excells. I also strongly disliked the English VA in this game, I quickly switched to Japanese. And I wish the VA's had more lines, they have a few in Cutscenes and story events but I wish it was more to add to the immersion. If you like Samurai games, or Samurai/Ronin in general, and if you like Team Ninja games I say give it a shot.
