Tomb Raider9
Mar 19, 2013
9 10 AMAZING, easily the best Tomb Raider game to date, it's an incredible mix of open-world exploration and intense action sequences. Excellent presentation, good (while unoriginal) story, and an amazing singleplayer campaign. PRESENTATION: All of the visuals are amazing, whether it be the depth of field, particle effects, animations, or the textures. Just make sure to optimize it to whatever your computer's strength may be. The sounds are great too; voice acting is great (especially from Lara's character), music is phenomenal, and the effects are all great. Camera angles have always been a major problem with the Tomb Raider series, but this one fixed that up and it's "fine" now. However, why are the liquid drops on the camera? That makes no sense, and just gets annoying. If this were first-person, it'd make sense, but now? STORY: It love the story, it has a very Indiana Jones style feeling. The game has a great mix of intense, gritty, and brutal moments with moments that just feel like pure light-hearted adventure. A feeling I haven't had since I played Twilight Princess back when I first got a Wii. I like the characters, only a few have a critical impact on the story, but I actually ended up being able to distinguish them all, and liked them all for their individual quirks. (except for Wittman, that pansy) GAMEPLAY: Platforming, combat, RPG-like system, and the huge world off of the given path are so perfect, it's a little breath-taking. The cover mechanic is actually amazing, which is surprising considering how clunky other games have used it. There's some decent stealth, but the assaulting moments are the beef of the gameplay. HOWEVER, the multiplayer is so downright awful, I couldn't believe it, I don't even suggest touching it. I forced myself through a few matches just so that I could bring you this lack of information, it's terrible. But the rest is great! I'm done here, thanks for reading!

A FANTASTIC multiplayer experience, that is if you have the skill. If not, it gets incredibly annoying and frustrating. Even if so, getting this along with the regular HL2, is definitively worth it, I never really knew why they released the two games separately...

EXCELLENT. Though it can be the most frustrating thing on the planet, level up a lot and you'll be fine. Even the story was completely brilliant, along with the LOADS of weapons. This game is great and especially if you've had a bad day and want to beat up a bunch of stuff.

An amazing adventure game, if you play for at least an hour, you'll feel like your in Hyrule. The story is completely brilliant, puzzles are just as, well puzzling, graphics were great, and the level design is so detailed, the whole game blew my mind.

Amazing in every way, just so intense and fun. With 9 different classes it assures you there is a character for you. There are 100's of weapons & hats to customize, and many maps to choose from. In addition people are always online so you'll never be alone...creepy.

Wow, never played a funner co-op game, completely honest. Not only blowing off heads like in the first one, but it has added melee to whack heads off. It's not scary, just intense, and it's a game I don't think anyone will ever forget.

Halo 39

Here we are, the end of the Halo **** the first one anyway. (I don't think they should make a 4th, just keep making spin-offs) But all that aside, this is a completely excellent game. Of course like the whole Halo series, the story and dialog is fantastic. You'll want to play the campaign over and over and over again, especially if you play with friends, then you virtually can't go wrong, it's a good time, what can I say. And the multiplayer is fantastic, that is if you get what you want. In custom games I wish you could pick a game mode, pick a map, and find a server / create one. But you gotta put up with this playlist stuff, but still a monster ****.

Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy9

Don't listen to me if I say otherwise, this was my FAVORITE childhood game. Without a freaking doubt, a fantastic platformer, designed for kids as a slapstick comedy, and insanely fun. The story is pretty deep, the characters were good, and the dialog is humorous, if you're below the age of 8. If you've got a kid looking for a first game, this is just the best way to go. Once you finish, you'll have to go through again to try and get EVERYTHING in the whole world. It will give you so much fun, even if you don't even play it for long. It's truly a beautiful game.

A game from my early childhood, one of my favorite games from my childhood. A tactical shooter where you control a group of freedom fighters as a squad. The plot is ok, the dialog isn't perfect, characters don't have much background, but the story isn't the biggy. This game was one of the top-notch game back them with amazing graphics and really good gameplay. But dang, this game is hard! Or at least it was for me. Still it was brilliant.

Now this counts for the PSP version okay? I'm not sure if the non-portable is not good, but here's what I thought of it. BAD. It's really slow, graphics ****, (though it is PSP, it's even worse) awful handling, etc. It's not nearly as good as the other NFS games. But it is ok and at least it kills time, that's what portable game are for.

Brink6
Oct 7, 2011
Frustrating and difficult, but almost nothing is funner than Brink with amazing combat and brilliant customization. The key to Brink: creativity. There are SO many possibilities for outfits, weapons + attachments, abilities, classes, the customization is just off the hook. So if you just assume you'll like this or that, DON'T, try everything and it will be slow at first, but the greatest thing later. The battlefield combat is just fantastic, you'll provide your teammates with ammo, health, armor, and more. And just in general the shooting is good. The only thing I'll have to say negatively, is the story, it's really light. Yeah, a man-made island is the last place on the planet, resources are low so people fight each other, that's it. One more thing: physics are terrible, and online is super laggy.

Alien Swarm (2010)8

A generally good game, make that a generally great game. This gives you a new reason to stay up late, it's not scary, that's not what I meant, I mean it's addicting. Don't even THINK of going ahead, you'll need your team. It feels good blasting alien guts open with your friends, and it's a lot like L4D, but it's top-down and aliens instead of zombies. Bring your friends and it will give a good **** day.

Fallout: New Vegas9

A good game [period] The storyline is great, it provides RPG elements that aren't really difficult to understand, a huge world to explore, loads of enemies to shoot / beat / blow up / poison / whatever. Though it's extremely glitched, but I don't think that counts too much. It also has the downfall of being overwhelmed by too many quests at the same time, or too many enemies at the same time. But get a companion (or solo if you prefer) and just pick one, you'll have a good time no matter what. The final flaw I'd like to mention is how depressing it can get, you look out at the half-dead world **** just kinda get sad, but it also adds to the story, that again: the world is half-dead.

Some of the greatest combat I've seen in a while. INSANELY FUN. Definitely worth $15. Great campaign, but the multiplayer is the amazing part, it will provide at least 8 hours a week of fun. And the campaign has good dialog and humor. I think it's a great time, but there are a few things to count as a bad time.

Ricochet (2004)4
Oct 7, 2011
Is Valve amazing for EVERY game they make, thats the question right there. Ricochet does not live up to the Valve expectations. Nobody is ever online anyway(maybe 4 other people) and once you DO find a server you die in about 15 seconds, and its basically impossible to get a kill. In general you get stupid discs and throw them at each other. It's pretty freaking bad. But it's the most refreshing thing ever when you get a kill, and it's not fun but addictive and you kill at least 20 minutes of time, but these don't make up for the REALLY BAD GAME.

Spectacular game. One of the best game storylines in ever, extremely fun gameplay, really good dialog, and while it's not entirely horror, it definitely sent some chills down my spine. It's also really creative, little sister & big daddies, the plasmeds, all of it. It's a truly perfect game.

Half-Life 210

Even better than the first HL, wow I didn't think it was possible. While it is a shooter, it involves a lot more gameplay types, it allows you to drive through to point A-B with intense action, areas where you need to sneak past, you get to control troops of rebels (and even antlions at one point). And the regular shooting is great, it's also a true sequel meaning it's just a bunch of higher tech HL. (with the same physics puzzles and similar gameplay) It also has one of the best sci-fi storyline's of the century, including characters, dialog, and of course just story in general. It introduces a new gun that is just OMG, try launching a paint can at something, see how much damage that will cause. Just amazing, like HL1, I really have NOTHING negative to say about it.

Half-Life: Blue Shift6
Oct 6, 2011
Now I love all the Half-Life games, it's really my favorite game franchise, and that's really saying something. But this one didn't cut it for me, unlike HL:OF, there are no new weapons or enemies (even though this was released later) and while it is still like HL1, the puzzles are no longer fun, the gameplay hasn't changed much, but it's kind ****, you wanna play it just for the sake of being a fan. I wouldn't say it's worth it, sorry.

Amnesia: The Dark Descent8
Oct 6, 2011
Scariest game ever, yeah that's right more than Dead Space, FEAR, Fatal Frame, Silent Hill, all of that. I can still hear my heart pounding even when I'm safely locked away from the monsters for 2 or 3 minutes. For such a small indie game, fantastic graphics, story, and some of the greatest sounds for a while. These are all here to make it a fantastic game, and it worked, but these things also become it's flaws. Meaning that things become too familiar and you know exactly where the monsters will come from, even though you haven't played through that part. But still I have no reason to say it's a bad game.

Almost as good as the original Half-Life, with at least 10 new guns and 5 new enemies. You can still make guards or scientists follow you too, as well as medics, engineers, or infantry soldiers. Absolutely fantastic, only thing is that the gameplay isn't quite as completely amazing as the original Half-Life. - 93/100
