Frictional Games has done it again with their amazing creative team. I can't stress enough how this video game has a beautiful written story. It also gives you this questionable yet wonderful feeling on a certain objective, but you'll probably end up going to enjoy it anyway. As long as you don't focus on how the monsters' AI are stupid and clunky, you will be fine playing this. Another problem for me on is how the game can't seem to tell your current objective is especially when you forgot about it. So you better have to be listen carefully in order to progress. Anyway. so far a masterpiece in writing!

Layers of Fear 24

Probably my fault for not being able to understand the story quietly. The plot are just so confusing to me at first; And the video game is a 4-5 hour walking simulator with "scary" moments that aren't even that scary. There are also no consequences from dying and thinking this as a "horror" game is just a bit of stretch. Although I did enjoy the aesthetics and some of the paintings, so bravo. There are also other creepy moments that I liked a lot but that just can't justify of my experience. It's mostly a boring game.

Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs8
Oct 25, 2020
Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs was such an underrated horror game out there; and I know that a lot of people were disappointed at this game saying it wasn't "scary" enough and some of the mechanics were removed from The Dark Descent. In my opinion, a great horror game is to have a great storytelling and this one didn't fail me. The game sets around 60 years after the events of The Dark Descent. I was truly immersed to the storytelling as I read almost all of the notes in the game and I really felt emotional as it comes to an end. I guess the only problem I got this game is there are no consequences after you've been hit from the Pigmen. You just slowly regenerate your health over time which is weird from a horror game, there should be survival elements to it. And the feeling of after getting killed so many times, you just get over with afterwards like the first game. The atmosphere though is a new addition to the franchise. AND HOLY MOLY, I HAVE TO GIVE TO THE PROPS WHO COMPOSED THE WHOLE SOUNDTRACK, I AM IN AWE AND IN-LOVE WITH IT. It's a great listen, you guys. Trust me.

Amnesia: Rebirth7
Oct 25, 2020
Amnesia: Rebirth is one of the best story-driven video games out there as it made me emotional as A Machine for Pigs but if you are finding a horror game such as The Dark Descent well let's just say it's not that scary at all as for some reason, the game relies on jumpscares when but after playing for a lot of hours, it doesn't bother me anymore as there are no consequences when you , it doesn't seem to focus the "survival" aspect of this horror game. Next, is the return of the inventory system from The Dark Descent, this was removed on A Machine for Pigs to have a more immersive experience but I'm also glad it was brought back. Anyway, the game also sets a century after the first game, and lots of returning entities and Easter Eggs (from the first game) can be found in the game. It was a fanboying experience when you asked me. Too bad it doesn't have a memorable soundtrack like A Machine for Pigs but I had a blast completing it. So, if you are a kind of person who loves to explore the world-building within the Amnesia universe then this game is for you, and yeah just don't expect much.

Layers of Fear (2015)4

pros: - looks good - decent soundtrack cons: - even though it looks good, there are glitches - confusing plotline - relying too much of jumpscares - no puzzles whatsoever - got too lost many times - most boring gameplay but if you ever got scared one of the sequences in this game, kudos to you but i just had an emotionless experience within this game so thank you, Layers of Fear for not giving me an adrenaline rush xoxo
