Pokemon Shield7

So, let's just get this out of the way: the story is very meh. To be frank, I haven't felt as engaged with a Pokemon story in a while, with the last time I actually enjoyed one being in Pokemon X and Y. But this go around, I feel like this is mainly do to the lackluster characters involved in the story. Not to mention that, rather than let my character get more involved in the mystery/world-ending phenomenon, it just gets pushed aside so that I can "continue my journey while the adults take care of stuff". Aside from that, what did save this game for me was the new quality of life improvements, the Wild Area, Surprise Trade and the new Pokemon from the Galar region. I love Dreepy, Grapploct and Boltund, but all the other new Pokemon are cool and unique in their own ways and in their designs. Especially since I found Sun and Moon's new pokemon to be pretty bland, Shield really did impress me with it's Pokemon. And I've put tons of hours into just exploring the Wild Area, doing Max Raids, and doing tons of surprise trades with people. And, I've got to admit, I've had fun. This is still a fun and enjoyable Pokemon game. I would say try it out before completely rejecting it, but I do hope that we can see and even better game, with an actually good story, in the next generation. Not sure if I'll write a Sword review, but it will probably be similar to this.

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity3
Dec 10, 2019
God, I can't believe I'm rating a Pokemon game this low, but I have to. I've played all the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games and this is by far the most boring and terrible of them all. For one, they tried way to hard to incorporate 3d "gimics" to this game. Another thing, they got rid of the ability to do multiple requests at once, making collecting the necessary items you need a big hassle and annoying to the point where the story will keep reminding you its there so that you'll choose to continue rather than farm the items you really need. The story itself it alright, but is much more childish and toned down compared to the last entries in the mystery dungeon series. Not to mention, it takes too long to actually get to the interesting parts. And the map designs, dear lord, they are horrible. There are only like 3 different map designs, so it makes the game way too easy once you figure it out. If you are wanting to get a Pokemon spin off game, don't get this. Just don't. Any of the other Pokemon mystery dungeon games, Pokemon ranger games, or even Pokemon conquest will be more enjoyable than this disaster.

Fire Emblem: Three Houses10

This is my game of the year for 2019!! I loved all the characters and the music is just amazing!! I did pick Blue Lions for my first route because I love Dimitri and I loved every single minute of it. Currently playing through Golden Deer, but I'm definitely playing all the routes available to me. I'll definitely be playing this game alot for many years.

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky10
Dec 10, 2019
This game is an absolute delight. If you already played either Explorers of Time or Darkness, then you kind of know the story, but the extra stuff the game throws in, including extra story content, makes this the must have pokemon mystery dungeon game. I've played every single Pokemon Mystery Dungeon game and I'll always come back to this one when I want to have fun and enjoy a wonderful story with wonderful characters. Seriously, don't listen to the critic scores for this. The fact that it is under an 80 never ceases to dumbfound me.

The Liar Princess and the Blind Prince9
Dec 10, 2019
This game is absolutely fantastic! The music is amazing, the story is sweet and sad, and the game itself is beautiful in both graphics and presentation. The only reason it is not getting a 10 is because it is a rather short game, but honestly, that's a nitpick. It takes all the time it needs, and that is perfectly fine. I only wish I could have enjoyed the world and characters it created for longer.

Tales of the Abyss9
Dec 10, 2019
This was my first Tales game that I literally only bought because I thought it had a cool cover and saw it preowned at GameStop. I'm so happy I bought this game. The characters are fantastic, the story is engaging and always has some twist. It still amazes me that this is so underrated in terms of "Tales" games. If you haven't played it yet, just do it. I never played it on the PS2, but with the ease of being able to play it on the go with the 3ds, you can't go wrong with this port.

Uta no * Prince-Sama: Shining Live10
Dec 10, 2019
I won't lie, I'm slightly biased since this is based on my favorite anime, Uta No Prince-Sama. However, as someone that played the Love Live version of this game in anticipation for this to come out, I love this app. If you are good with rhythm games and good-looking anime boys, you should play this. It is also 10 times better than the Love Live game in so many ways.
