The Remake of the End of the Greatest RPG of All Time10
Jun 12, 2026
The title is a bit of a misdirection, since this is first and foremost a puzzle game. There are no random encounters. Those who are present are fixed, and are puzzles by design. The game is clearly inspired by the meta aspects of Inscryption and Tunic. It's not overly long to finish, although there are some secrets I still have to discover. It definitely deserves more attention than what it got

Vampire Crawlers: The Turbo Wildcard from Vampire Survivors9
Jun 1, 2026
It's simply great, super fun and addicting.
Only downside, it's over a little bit too soon, and once the game is "broken", it becomes almost like a job (Vampire Survivor can also be broken, but becomes an absurd explosive party).
Still, the path to unlocking everything was tons of fun, I hope they'll make some expansions

The game is very good, the learning curve is pretty high, but once you understand everything there is to it, it becomes easier. Additional difficulties might be too much, though

It's ok.
It nails Metroidvania exploration, but it fails in many other aspects and it's very buggy (hopefully it's going to get better the more time passes.

While I don't understand the incredible glaze this game is getting from Metroidvania enthusiasts, It's still very well made and worth the time investment. Doesn't reinvent the wheel in terms of MV exploration and combat, but it hase some novel ideas that are very well executed

Not agreeing with the critic on this one.
I love artsy games, but this game seems to cater to a very specific audience, that is very removed from who I am (or, in this case "was" back in the 90s). The discourse around it is incredibly toxic.
To me, the game has lacklaster gameplay, lacklaster characters and story. To others, they resonate so much with everything that is going on, that it's even moving. For me it's too much, I couldn't wait for it to be over

Mina the Hollower9

It's simply really great, as advertised.
A world full of secrets, none of which are obtuse. The game is full of great "ah-ha" moments that make it shine.
While the game is incredibly open, there is a suggested path that works really well for a learning curve.
Only downside, the game would've benefitted from a Map. Even counting the already present overworld map, I would've much more preferred it to be available from the start in order to chart my way around, instead of having to buy it as an upgrade after I had already charted the Island

A great game. It will be unfavorably compared to brethren such as Slay the Spire or Balatro, but it stands on its own two legs. I love blackjack and love the way this game works. The story is fun, progression is very nice, and I LOVE how face cards interact with each other, it's so much fun to discover effects. The game isn't very challenging or hard to master, but difficulty options will keep you busy if you want to keep going.
Definitely one of the best games I played this year

Really wonderful game, both Grace and Leon are great to play as and offer a wonderful balance between survival and action. I wish the plot was a little bit tighter. Even for RE standards, it feels confusing and weirdly paced, especially the second half

Hollow Knight: Silksong10
Sep 9, 2025
This game is generational.
It's probably not the huge step up in the genre that Hollow Knight was back in 2017, but it's an upgrade to the already solid formula established by the predecessor in almost every way. Siksong surpassed every expectation I had, it smashed it to pieces. A game that keeps on giving, that keeps adding stuff. When all is said and done, I'm really sad the adventure has come to an end, and can't wait to jump into Pharloom again in the near future.
While Expedition 33 will probably sweep The Game Awards this year, Silksong is undoubtedly, unapologetically my pick for GOTY and it's not even close

The game is deserving of the praise it's getting. It's a really original concept, full of headscratching puzzles and mysteries, with a lot of RNG that will either drive you crazy, or keep you engaged for "one more run" hoping for a different outcome. It took me 30 in-game days to reach the fabled Room 46 and the ending, but, apparently, there are hundreds of other secrets that are not main plot related. While this is where a lot of people get really engaged, for me that's a wrap. The only real downside of this game was not to implement some of these puzzles in the main path. Besides that, and excellent, excellent game

Lost Words: Beyond the Page7
Mar 24, 2025
I liked it fine. It's a short, nice story about loss and acceptance when you're too young to understand. The game is poorly optimized for PS4, seeing a game this small running below 30fps is something you're not used to see in 2025

ENDER MAGNOLIA: Bloom in the Mist9
Mar 24, 2025
It's definitely better than its predecessor in terms of gameplay and overall Metroidvania feel, but there is something lacking when we're talking about worldbuilding and the how the world feels. What mad Lilies such a great game is its dark, gritty and suffering world. This one really feels too much alive and too sci fi to me. But it's a really, really good game

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle8

It's a good Indy game, that alone is enough. Story and presentation are top notch. Gameplay could be better.
I understand that Indy isn't Wolfenstein, but some forced Stealth sections are really aggravating even on easier difficulties. In general, combat isn't really engaging. But the rest is absolutely wonderful

It's an interesting story, an interesting premise. Another short walking simulator, but I like those generally. This one is good, it has good acting and beautiful world building, but the story in the end falls a bit short. i feel that "Deliver us the Moon" does the same thing, but better

Top down isometric Metroidvania isn't something we're used to get.
Both Islets and Sheepo (this dev's previous games) were side scrollers, but I'm pleased to say this is their best work yet. I love it. It's charming, cute, and a lot of fun. Just, ease down on the boss rush achievements next time, please

Pac-Man World: Re-PAC8
Mar 24, 2025
Never played the original, but had a really good time with it. It's not an excellent platformer, or a game that will enter the cultural zeitgeist, but it's a fun time, without too many pretenses.
Also, the addition of the original Pac Man and trophies associated with it, made me enter this deep rabbit hole of how enemies behave and what the optimal routes are. Pretty cool.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot7
Mar 24, 2025
Nostalgically, recreating one of the best anime with such care and love really is fantastic. A lot of familiar scenes, lots of carefully reconstucted characters, it's a nice experience.
Still, it falls prey to some of the most cumbersome pitfalls of Open World games. Repetitive missions and side stories, too many useless materials to gather. But I would lie if I said I wasn't really invested in it

Deliver Us The Moon9
Mar 24, 2025
The game is well directed and has a really beautiful soundtrack. It's an exploration/puzzle game with very light platforming and few sections where you can die. Still, it's an experience definitely more geared towards "walking simulator" fans, as the main draw is piecing out the story bit by bit. And I found it to be a moving, beautiful story.

It's an interesting family drama. While the story isn't really the most engaging you'll ever see, the end result is nice and I admit I did audibly gasp when I reached the reveal at the end.
Open Roads is a nice, short experience, just be aware of the length of a little bit more than 2 hours

These are the kind of games that make me proud to be a gamer. It's a joy from start to finish. A game full of variety, puzzles, laughter and sometimes rage. Hazelight is among the best devs out there and I hope this game proves to be as successful as, if not more than, It Take Two. A word of caution. The game is pretty easy for experienced gamers, but some people that don't play regularly might find it pretty hard

The Rise of the Golden Idol9
Nov 14, 2024
Just finished the game. It's a very hard, very fulfilling sequel to one of the best games of 2022. Longer, bolder, more inventive and more varied, the overarching plot is simply beautiful, and every puzzle solved will inevitably make you feel like a genius. Only downside, some of the later puzzles really require huge leaps of logic. Thankfully, the hint system is easy to use and doesn't really punish you for it.
Third chapter was definitely the weakest of them all, but all of them were fun and the story does come full circle at the end

It's a delightful game, full of charm, ideas, and with great artistic direction, but it could have benefitted of more gameplay and less story, more elaborate dungeons and areas. The 2D parts are kinda bogged down by constant dialogues, while 3D part are more creative gameplay-wise
Also, some bugs and glitches are prominent in the PS5 version Still,it's a really good game and I highly suggest it

The Bookwalker: Thief of Tales8
Aug 3, 2023
This was a surprise. I was intrigued by the title and played it Game Pass.
It's been obviously made with a tiny budget and this can become evident in certain points, but the story and locations are especially intriguing and I couldn't wait to see what the next book would be about.
I would've loved if the game went a little bit deeper in how this world is structured, you are thrown in with little to no exposition and gradually learn more stuff about the MC and the world he lives in, but there's much more to see and learn and I would love the devs to maybe make a new game set in the same world.

It doesn't have much depth or length, but it's a very polished, smooth game with a simple story, fun boss battles and beautiful environments.
If you're looking for a souls game, this ain't it. If you're looking for an easy and relaxing stroll through Wonderland while fighting enemies and clearing quests, this is a nice game.
Especially for young ones.

Going lower than 7 isn't really fair because it's a really, really good Metroidvania game, but bugs and glitches are (as well as overall poor technical performance) are way too common and most times really detrimental to the experience.
My suggestion is to wait for some performance patches. With time this could easily become a 9 game, but for now there's no way to rate it higher.
