A haunting, emotional story is paired with fantastic combat, exploration, and puzzle-solving. Resonance: A Plague Tale solidifies the franchise as one of the best franchises of the modern era and shouldn't be missed.

The next step in a clear path from Innocence, through Requiem, Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy confidently switches to a full on action-adventure in the vein of Uncharted. A good combat system, simple story-serving design choices and a great story, make this a joy and to play, even as the dread mounts and you descend into the heart of darkness towards scenes every bit and terrifying and memorable as that tsunami of rats.

I've enjoyed playing all 3 Plague Tale games, each is better than the last. This one takes the original formula adds a new storyline, a new location and theme ,combat and some great visuals and storytelling. If you like first person adventure action style games this is one to play through for sure. Right up my street. Difficult enough without having 'Talos Principle' level puzzles. It's just a quality game that's well put together.

Fantastic game. The series has consistently evolved. The first game was a surprise hit. The second was already a banger. And this one is a banger with improved gameplay. I'm excited to see what comes next!

A Plague Tale: Resonance boldly reinvents the series with a fresh setting, strong new protagonist, and engaging exploration. Despite minor flaws, it’s the refreshing new beginning the series needed.

As a prequel to Asobo Studio's pair of popular A Plague Tale games, Resonance takes the risk of not only introducing a new protagonist, but significantly switching up the franchise's enduring gameplay formula. Forgoing the stealth, survival, and relentless rat swarms the series is known for, Sophia's story is a swashbuckling one, packed with fast, action-focused combat and plenty of puzzles to solve and ancient artifacts to uncover. Aside from an occasionally clunky combat camera, this fresh approach works brilliantly, although faithful fans craving another foreboding trek through the Black Death might find its new formula a bit too safe and familiar.

Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy could have been so much more. It could also have been so much less. It's a title that envelops you with its incredible atmosphere, flatters you with the quality of its cutscenes, enchants you with music reminiscent of Homeric myth, then after a few hours brings you back to reality with an almost too-stultifying structure. The team at Asobo Studio demonstrates its mastery of creating linear narrative experiences, but this very pedigree prevents them from fully embracing it. The transition from stealth to action is seamless, but it further highlights how the studio struggles to let go of the player. Yet the path is the right one; you just need to have the courage to follow it to the end.

Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy tries very hard to replicate Naughty Dog's Uncharted magic, and in many ways the game succeeds, delivering solid exploration, well-balanced puzzles, and luxurious visuals, but sadly, the overall package is dragged down a couple of notches by uninspired, irritating combat. If you're willing to take the good with the bland, then Resonance may well be worth a stab, but given how packed 2026 is with big games, I don't see this latest Plague Tale going viral.

Asobo's prequel adds toe-to-toe combat and hands-off puzzling to the Plague Tale recipe to winning effect – but the trauma porn of its second half takes considerable shine off an otherwise smartly paced action-adventure.

Visually stunning and a great adventure. The puzzles aren’t too complex, but they’re engaging, and the game has a well-defined pace.

As a huge fan of the franchise who rated the previous entries a solid 10/10—especially the second game, which was an absolute masterpiece—this was an enormous disappointment. Driven by my love for the series, I even completed this game on the hardest difficulty (Nightmare mode), but it doesn't come close to its predecessors.
The narrative is cliché, and the storytelling and dialogue lack any real depth. The enemies feel completely soulless, lacking personality or presence, coming across as mere lifeless mannequins. Being confined to a single island made the world feel narrow and uninspired, completely stripping away the immersion and atmosphere that defined the series. The only redeeming quality is the incredible soundtrack, but brilliant music alone cannot carry such a hollow experience. 🥲

The graphics are one of the best you will ever see at 40 fps .. but the story, the pacing , the characters are absolute garbage .. I kept feeling this is another girl boss feminist wet dream. I didn't care one bit about the characters, not even the main ugly protagonist. The game kept breaking my immersion due to the weird feminist insertions that make no sense in a medieval setting ! For Example: at the beginning of the game there were people fighting in the pit, then the male victor calls out the girl we play as out loudly to fight her? Lol .. who the **** says that ?! A man calling out a woman to a fight would be considered a deranged coward at every culture ! All the main characters are generic girl bosses we expect from these twisted times we live on. And the characters are also intentionally uglified ! Its eye soaring to look at, I don't care about your morality, but I don't enjoy playing with ugly characters. The story as well makes no sense, it's another fragmented lore storytelling where you fight stuff to uncover another piece of the lore , and you don't understand why you're doing what you're doing until the very end of the game ! A story works when you have clear, immediate stakes and reasons to care about what happens right now. When a game hides basic motivations behind a 20-hour scavenger hunt, there’s no emotional payoff. You’re just mindlessly fighting enemies and surviving set pieces in an emotional vacuum. By the time the credits roll and the puzzle pieces finally connect, you don't feel awe, you just feel exhausted. And it seems that every game now uses this kind of absurd clueless cheap lazy story telling. I can't remember the last game that made me actually care about what iam doing .. last i felt I was hooked to the world immediately was ghost of tushima. Conclusion: unmatched graphical fidelity ruined by propagandists and terrible writers
