In a world full of Call of Duty clones, it's rare to find an FPS game that brings something new and unique to the genre. Prey, from 2006, brings this in spades. The game offers a variety of new gameplay concepts and elements that make a unique and varied shooter; the classic Doom style run and gun gameplay mixed with several challenging puzzles and twists to complete a level. If you're looking for a new and innovative shooter (even though it's an old game) I highly recommend Prey; for the $5 it cost me, it was well worth my money.

Battlefield 3 is a superb multiplayer shooter let down by a shockingly bad campaign. The singleplayer campaign throws you into the role of a U.S Marine, with a generic plot concerning nuclear weapons, not to mention highly restrictive and linear environments that completely deny exploration. Many segments of the campaign force you to engage in tiresome tasks such as waiting for team-mates to open doors while you stand idly with your weapon lowered. I expected vast, giant battles that encouraged the player to experiment in large maps with huge varieties of weapons and vehicles. Not a messy linear, poorly written generic war shooter. Fortunately, the multiplayer experience is polished with love and care, with enough guns, customisation and ranking systems to keep the hardened MMS veteran in the game for some time. The maps are also quite good, with the giant battles I was expecting in the campaign (more so if you purchase some of the DLC packs). The graphics are also quite good, but keep in mind that you need an Xbox 360 Hard Drive to enjoy decent textures; if not, your visual experience will suffer. overall, a decent game marred by an extremely sub-standard campaign.

Give your Halo character little health and change absolutely NOTHING else, and you have ODST. The gameplay mechanics are exactly the same, except you have bugger all health (jumping from fairly low heights can hurt you), the story is boring and forgettable, levels are repetitive (I HATED the night time level in the city) and this game is obviously just a cash ploy made by Bungie. We can wait for Halo Reach without crappy sequels to fill the gap.

I expect better from such a well respected developer. Like I said in my review of Endwar, this game is a crappy wanna be of Starcraft, Command and Conquer and Dawn of War. It's not the fact that its on Xbox that I don't like it, it's the fact that is a bad game. Halo Wars and ODST have tarnished my love of Halo, and the game's bad AI, voice acting and story are what make a beloved franchise look bad. Can we rewind time, and make this game never be made?

Endwar is a crappy RTS game. In a world where we have many classic and beloved strategy games such as Command and Conquer, Starcraft, Dawn of War, etc, Ubisoft should be trying to raise the bar and blow us away. Instead, we recieve a half-baked piece of crap, with poor graphics, poor AI, and a TERRIBLE voice command system. Spend your money on a decent game.

Another example of Activision releasing the same game year after year to please a crowd of screaming 13 year old fanatics. Graphics are okay, and are nothing to write home about. The story is your standard CoD, and in other words, plays exactly the same as other titles in the series. When telling a friend of mine, I hated Call of Duty, he said "Then how come it is so popular?". CoD is only popular to 13 year olds, and in the mature gaming community, is regarded an average piece of crap. Play a decent shooter, like Bioshock or something else that is actually good.

While this game does have its share of flaws, it is not too bad, and proves that not all movie to game adaptions are bad. The combat is fun and addictive, and is easy to tell that it is influenced by Batman: Arkham Asylum/City. The graphics are average, the voice acting is pretty rubbish (English accents fail at trying to replicate a German one) and the story is fairly lightweight. However, Captain America is a good beat 'em up, and will please fans of the movie.

Wolfenstein, while being different from the other games in the series, is still a satisfying FPS game. The cutscenes have pleasing visuals, and the in-game graphics are pleasing also. The story is fairly flimsy, but that doesn't really matter for this game, because we all know Wolfenstein is all about gunning down supernatural ****. Combat is fairl easy on Normal, as you never run out of ammo (ammo is plentiful) and the enemy AI isn't too smart, as they just sit behind cover and wait for you to kill them. Sound effects are also quite good, like if you melee hit a **** with your gun you will a squishy bone crunching effect (disturbingly realistic). The game is also realistic in that enemies respond quite differently if you shoot them in different parts of the body, e.g. Shoot a soldier in the throat, and they will fall down gurgling and sputtering. Wolfenstein is a satisfying FPS that will please Wolf 3D fans as well as fans of WWII shooters.

This game is bloody excellent! The combat, voice acting, graphics, story and characters are all up and above average. It is one of the most atmospheric and suspenseful experiences in gaming, and will stand out as a classic for years to come. Excellent, but is difficult to find in stores and on the internet.

This game is hugely overrated, grows boring after a quick play, and I know the graphics are intended to look bad, but its just ugly to play. The mechanics are boring and overly repetitive, and is not worth the 20 dollars it costs. Do not buy this game, go with Terraria or Garry's Mod, which are both excellent sandbox games. Minecraft however, isn't, so don't buy it!

Skyrim is greatly overrated by the media and everyone who has bought it. Skyrim has a poor story, with no twists and turns in the plot, no stunning moral choice options which will affect the outcome of your experience, and there is just no justification to why your character should be good or bad; there's just no incentive, because it doesn't affect the outcome. The dialogue also poor, as you don't even hear your character speak, and like I said before, there are no moral choice options to choose. The combat is fun but clunky, and doesn't flow like other games I have played. Also, the voice acting and character animations are fairly mediocre, as half the characters in the world have exactly the same voices and looks. The ending is pretty unsatisfying, and lacks the spectacularity in other games. After playing the Mass Effect series, I simply cannot say that Skyrim is as good as everyone is saying.

This game is unbelieveable, you can make anything! I paid $2.50 AUD for this game in a Steam sale, and I have to say I would have happily payed 20. The game is fun, and after 100 hours it hasn't even begun to be slightly boring. I highly recommend this to. . . . well, anyone!

I had very high expectations for this game, but they were Force-pushed out the window once I started playing it. The graphics are good, the combat is the same but the positives end there. The story is so stupid, and is obviously the only thing they had for a sequel. It is very short, and is overall, very disappointing.

SWTFU is a good addition to the Star Wars universe. The combat is excellent, and this is a game I think is good enough to rival the likes of God of War. The visuals are pleasing, the score is the usual SW best, and was overall a very enjoyable game. Although it is a bit annoying to play on the PC, this game is very good, but is probably enjoyed more on console.

I honestly couldn't get into this game after I had played Skyrim. Its dialogue is weird and irritating, the inventory is annoying, the map is also very annoying. The graphics are poor, and I have to say that Doom 3 (a game from 2004) had far better visuals. The combat is fun, but very clunky as it is in the Elder Scrolls games. An okay game, and I admit I would have enjoyed it much more if I hadn't played Skyrim first.

Why is the score around 80? This absolute CLASSIC deserves nothing less than a 10/10. A gaming masterpiece, I will never forget this game. Once you get started, you barely notice how old this game is!

I liked playing the excellent 1994 classic Doom in stunning new maps, and a jungle environment really spices up the gameplay. Excellent, a 10 is what it well and truly deserves.

This game is absolutely amazing, even now I can't stop playing it! Its cool music, cool guns, fun shooter mechanics will keep you coming back for more again and again! You can't not like this game, so go out and buy it!

Doom 3 is, and always will be, one of my favourite shooters around. It is very scary (no wonder it was packaged with a disclaimer to keep the volume down at night), as you can never see the enemies coming. The shooting is tough but fun, and is addictive to play. The graphics are good (the brains popping out are a little disturbing) and the story is simple but that isn't what Doom is all about. Hopefully Doom 4 will be an excellent sequel in an excellent franchise.

These maps are excellent, and feel me with a sense of wonder as I experience classic Halo maps. However, why isn't Blood Gulch in here? That's the map everyone would play at skool when the teachers weren't looking! Good map pack and worth the cash, but disappointing without Blood Gulch.

Halo Anniversary, to me, is the Halo game that is the best. It is a remastered edition of a classic game, whose only drawback would have been its old graphics. This remake is a good game with great graphics, and leaves me in anticipation for Halo 4!

Another good Duke Nukem game. This is more like a remastered version of Duke Nukem 1 and 2, but this isn't a bad thing. This really fun, although not as good as the originals. It deserves a play, so get off XBLA if you have some MS points to spare.

Duke Nukem 3D is a masterpiece in gaming. I own an original copy of this, and am still playing it today. Its one liners, fun combat, remarkable level design and quirky humour still keeps me playing. This game is a classic, and will be remembered for years to come. Don't download this off the net, pay good money for it, and believe me, it is worth every dollar.

I think the metascore here is a little bit too harsh. This game is good fun, although it plays like Doom 3, is still a great game. Although the humour revolves around potty humour a bit too much, Duke Nukem Forever is a refreshing game in an age where we keep getting Call of Duty clones. I like how you can interact with everything (yes, even poo) and I also like the fast paced addictive combat. If it was released at the same time as Doom 3, this game would have been a shining star. This game is fun, and is greatly underrated by critics.

I expected Dead Space to transition really badly to iPod touch, hence ruining my favourite game of all time. However, it is a surpisingly good app! The controls are simple and easy to get used to, and before you know it, you're romping through the game just as easily as you did on the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC versions. Although it is an expensive app, it is worth the money.

Halo Combat Evolved is a must have classic! It is simple, but that isn't a bad thing. Even 10 years on, new stuff can come out of it, with the release of Halo CE Anniversary. This game should be treasured by generations to come, because it is fun, has a good story, and is a purely unforgettable game.

Mass Effect is addictive, so addictive that it compells to explore every inch of it's beautiful world! Mass Effect mimicks Star Wars, but not in a bad way. A really good game, recommended to any sci-fi fan or RPG fan out there looking for a new and innovative RPG experience.

Dead Space 2 is a really good game, but doesn't outdo the first game. All the gameplay has been refined and freshened up, such as a new locator system, and a better interface. Dead Space 2 is not as scary as the first game, but has more action, more story, new weapons and even a multiplayer mode. This game is great, so fans like me will have a good time with this.

Too Human is an mediocre game. It has a good story, but everything else is average. The controls are weird and clunky, the graphics leave a lot to be desired and is quite simply not worth the cash. With some effort, the game could have been great. However, like I said before, the story is quite good, and is original, unlike other stories out there today.

Alan Wake is a brilliant game, all in all. It does everything right, from it's story and characters to its gameplay and graphics. The game messes with your head (it is a very winding and twisting story) and leaves you not knowing what to expect! The lighting techniques are superb, and the graphics are very impressive! This game is worth the cash, so buy it next time you see it!

Dead Space is a perfect horror game. It blends elements from System Shock 2 with references to other great films and games. It is thick with atmosphere and emotion, and is very good at surprising the player with it's surprisingly good storyline. The gameplay is fun and frantic, as you race to dismember the attacking Necromorphs. This game is excellent, and is worth a look next time you are stuck for something to play!
