One of the best games I have ever played. Don't let the simplistic style fool you, this game is story rich, and has some of the most intense gameplay EVER. PROS: +The controls are tight and well flowing. +The story is interesting, and makes you think more than you would expect an arcade style game to make you. +The soundtrack is one of the best I have ever heard! +It is so satisfying for even the most simple of kills - not to mention how amazing it feels when you finally beat a level. +It is very difficult, which normally annoys me a tad-bit, but this game adds re-playability through it's extreme difficulty. +The simple graphics make it easy to continue through the game; what I mean is the kills make you cringe in the 2D style - imagine if it was 3D and realistic! Yuck! CONS: -I don't know, maybe you don't like the colors?

EA Sports UFC 22
Nov 18, 2017
A terrible game that is almost has no reason worth buying. Unfortunately, it's basically the only MMA game on the market. And, boy, is it broken. PROS + Great graphics. All of the fighter's models are crazy and down to the last detail. + You can create up to 20 fighters and totally customize them to look how you want them to. + Fighting against friends and others is fun. (The AI is where the cheese comes in.) + The roster is HUGE. You will definitely be able to find a fighter that seems to almost be tailored for your play-style. CONS - Basically the entirety of the gameplay. Yeah, it's better than the first game, but that literally amounts to nothing. - You are vulnerable fighter - like you should be; one clean shot and you're rocked (which is a good thing). Where this doesn't workout is when you're facing the AI (in either career or fight now), they are a hyper-immortal warrior from planet Saiyan. In career mode I landed 87 strikes to the opponents 31; almost all of my 87 strikes were to the head, and I had not gotten a single knockdown. Entering the third round they immediately caught me with ONE body kick and the fight was over. You do not get this knockout privilege when fighting AI, only others real people in online or 2P. - The ground game is broken. Your opponent can become unstoppable by faking transitions (and so can you), you no longer flick one direction and lose your own stamina like in the first game, instead you have to correctly guess what transition they're going for - which is totally possible to learn, but the learning curve is ridiculous and the main complaint I see on the game (which means it isn't good if 90% of everyone says it ****). - There are attacks in the clinch that do ridiculous amounts of damage, and some LITERALLY can NOT be defended against. It also implicates the awful transition system. - If your opponent has faster striking stats than you, you're basically doomed on the feet unless you are drastically more skilled than them in the first place. - When fighting the AI, they will frequently interrupt your combos with either a straight or jab, if you think you can do the same to their combos, you are mistaken. - The career mode is boring, and your "training camps" is usually just an excuse for the game to lower your overall when going into a fight due to injuries. (Note: you will NEVER face an injured opponent, because you are Mr. Glass and everyone else is Bruce Willis.) - Knockdowns are plenty (when facing other players), and while it is exciting, you are rarely able to get the walk-away finish that you crave every once-in-a-while. You usually have to finish them on the ground or they'll hop back-up most of the time. - The tutorial consists of a couple of slides that tell you how to do something in the most simplistic, understated way. You have to learn through hours-upon-hours of playing by yourself, because the game sure isn't going to tell you anything. If you're looking for a party game with friends or for some competitive online play and you have an overabundance of free time to learn how to play, this is a good game. But only a $20-worth good game. Get used to that massive learning curve, because it will more than likely cause you to quit the game in a couple of hours of each play session.

Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition7
Mar 20, 2015
My favorite game of all time gets a 7. The reason for this is, while it is my personal soul-mate, it is definitely not for everyone, and plenty of flawed game design is in it. PROS: + The art direction is so incredible! This is one of the main reasons my love for Dark Souls is so enormous. If you decide not to get this game - at least pick-up an art book. + 90% of the bosses are challenging but fair (most of them). They can be amazing, brilliant, beautiful, and sometimes (if you know the lore) tear-jerking. + The lore is so deep; every character has an incredible back-story, no matter how small their role. A prime example of this is Knight Lautrec of Carim, who has more story than screen-time. + While some levels are hot smelly trash (*cough* Blighttown *cough*), some levels are amazing, for example, the Painted World of Ariamas. + So many weapons, so many spells, so many upgrades, so many classes; your character is a slate for you to do what every you want with. CONS: - Some bosses (the 10%, if you will), are just stupid. Bed of Chaos is one of the most frustrating bosses ever, Priscilla can be irritating your first few playthroughs, Gwyndolin decides if you live or not. But including maybe a few others, there aren't many. - Some levels are dumb - just designed to make you angry: Blighttown, The Depths, The Great Hollow, Ash Lake, and the route to Manus (if you have the DLC) is another awful one. But keep in mind, again, there are some AMAZING levels in this game. - Invasions, they aren't fair. But at least they don't pretend to be fair. - The biggest learning curve in any game every. You'll be frustrated when on your first playthrough you find out you've screwed yourself by wasting humanity and leveling the wrong stats 10 hours ago. If you're skeptical about a purchase of this game (unfortunately there isn't a demo I can recommend), just watch a Let's Play of the game on YouTube, and decide from there. But it is my favorite game of all time, and I would recommend picking it up on sale.

Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor3
Mar 20, 2015
For an incredibly hyped game that I had heard nothing but positive things about, I am unfortunately having to say that this game is not good (in my opinion). I am a huge Lord of the Rings fan, and the gameplay looked cool; but than I got the game and was welcomed with an incredibly frustrating experience. PROS: + The game looks gorgeous, very good graphics. + The combat actually flows very nice! It's basically a direct copy of Batman, but that isn't a bad thing; games should learn from each other. + The Nemesis System is very unique and cool. CONS: - The story is boring - not interesting in the slightest. Missions are tedious and irritating. - While I did appreciate the Nemesis System, it functions in one of the stupidest most irritating ways ever: I do like the fact that when a captain kills you he gains power, that's cool - what isn't cool is that even if no one kills (for example, a caragor kills you) every fricken person gets a power-up even though they had nothing to do with your death - and yes, sometimes it is literally EVERYBODY! - The game is littered with poopy-designed enemies: caragors, shield-soldiers, hunters, etc.), and when you first encounter these enemies, from that point on they will pop-up EVERYWHERE, and trust me, that is NOT a hyperbole. - This game is not a fan of fair fights. This **** because the Nemesis System had so much potential, but a lot of the time it is impossible to get a 1-on-1 fight with these captains (especially the warchiefs). You're usually confronted with not only the captain (or multiple captains), you get the bonus of fighting a dozen spear-throwing hunters, a half-dozen shield-soldiers, about 20 normal enemies, and sometimes, if you're really lucky, a caragor (literally out of nowhere) comes - ignores all the other enemies - tackles and instakills you! Brilliant game design, whatever type of monkey made this needs a raise. If you think I "don't like a challenge," you're wrong: Dark Souls is my favorite game, I love Super Meat Boy, The Binding of Isaac, Shadow of the Colossus, and Hotline Miami are some of my other favorites. But this game has extreme artificial difficulty, and other mechanics designed to be unfair (like captain's regenerating health) and this frustrating pile of dung has amassed millions of dollars and critical acclaim, great. Don't buy it if you like being a calm person.

Shadow of the Colossus10
Aug 20, 2014
Shadow of the Colossus has demonstrated that games are more than violence. It is evidence to silence the enemies of gaming, like CNN. It captures feelings of love, wonderment, and cruelty. Sadly this game is underrated, and it has the power to change your look on violence and your appreciation for a story. PROS: +The game is gorgeous. A PS2 game looks so colorful and beautiful, and that is when I feel graphics really count in a review - when they go above and beyond expectations, and add to the enjoyment. +The story is breath-taking; few, if any words are said, and it still makes you feel for the characters. +Level design - absolutely amazing - the best I've ever seen before. +The bosses (colossus) are incredibly well designed. They all have different patterns, moods, and not only are they intimidating in their stature, they manage to be beautiful at the same time. CONS: -It is hard to find one of the colossus, but it is hardly worth mentioning. Get it. DO IT!

inFamous9

Infamous is an amazing game that had never really been witnessed before when it came out. It blends a wonderful combat system with cool characters and an unforgettable choice system. One of my all time favorite games, and one of my all time favorite series. PROS: +Original at it's time, and it still does the concept of superhero better than any other game out there. Not even the Spiderman 2 game can touch this. +Wonderful, delicious, and juicy 3rd person combat. While ducking into cover can be a pain, it never dims down in terms of action and overall insane intensity - it also flows pretty smooth. +Writing, it's off-the-wall! While Trish is without a doubt the most dull of all the characters, you're exposed to the hilarious and somewhat charming Zeke, the crazy and **** Sasha, the bias and hateful TV people/"The Voice of Survival", the old insane and broken Alden, and the star - the intimating agile hero and/or anti-hero: Cole. +The moral choice mechanic: it is wonderful! While some games like Paper's Please do it more subtly, Infamous also has an unforgettable and, in my opinion, better moral choice system. You way out the pros and cons of the choices you make in your actions, and you get the choice between being selfish and benefiting yourself while hurting others, or taking a hard hit to protect and save the innocent civilians. +You get the vibe you're in a hopeless environment - one that is barely standing and needs hero to carry it, or a villain to bring it all-the-way down. The people in the quarantined city say things like "I was only supposed to be here a day," or "help, I can't find my daughter!" It delivers a feeling of eeriness and despair. CONS: -Some missions are so difficult it leaves you scratching your head saying, "what idiot came up with this level." Must buy. If you don't have a PS3, buy one just to play this!

inFamous: Second Son6
Apr 5, 2014
Infamous is a series I am proud to say is one of my all time favorite series, however, I was afraid that this would be a game with one-too-many sequels, inevitably bringing it to it's own fall; maybe it was complete lack of expectation - but this game was surprisingly good. PROS: +They have some wonderfully written characters. For example, you get a strong brotherly bond between Reggie and Delson. +The game is beautiful - a game, like The Last of Us, silences **** PC fascists. +The AI is one a lot of other game developers should study. It felt surprisingly realistic, and two steps ahead of it's predecessors. +Multiple powers all carry their own independent sense of extreme power while still maintaining a sense of agility. Shards are much easier to find and seem to hold more use when they have the potential to unlock a myriad of abilities. +Executes open-world well. CONS: -The choice system was incredibly black-and-white: right away they throw a convincing character into an evil situation and he becomes dreadfully unbelievable! You're exposed to a gentle, humorous and kind young man, and then the game wants you to believe this lovable soul has the emotional capability of killing innocent people. Yeah, right... -They could have done a lot of things with some characters that quickly disappeared (Betty, Fetch, etc.). -While Reggie is almost as lovable as Delson, he seems to be their only as weight for the bland decision making; again, falling to the evil situation, why would a cop let his brother do evil things - and still support him? The character writing backfires, were it's previous titles had flawless decision making, and believable characters on both sides of the road. -Both endings are garbage, sorry. I guess the bottom line is if you're looking for a open-world superhero game - or just an Infamous fan - you should by this game, but I wouldn't even come close to saying it's worth picking up a PS4 for.

Battlefield 35

The strength of this game is based almost only on the multiplayer. The story is not worth remembering. PROS: +The multiplayer is very well balanced. +Amazingly wide variety of weapon customization. +The maps are pretty good. I'm not a fan of the large maps, but a lot of people are. +You got a lot of say of the track of the game (multiplayer) by just playing. Everyone has the pressure of making or breaking the game. +There are glitches. "Isn't that a bad thing?" you may ask. No, because it is hilarious! CONS: -The story ****. I don't need to into detail, it's just bad. -The multiplayer isn't noob friendly. If you're new to FPS, get a CoD game with bots for practice. -The planes and tanks in the multiplayer are more of an annoyance then anything. -Web-based game, because EA hates their fans or something. -EA I don't know. Do like multiplayer? Get it. If you want a game with value, don't.

Toy Soldiers8

Toy Soldiers does what it wants to do: It wants to provide nice quirky fun, from anywhere to experienced players, to casual players. PROS: +The art style is cute, and it makes you chuckle when ever you see an enemy soldier explode into springs and gears. +It is fun, it just makes you happy and it is extremely satisfying mowing down waves of enemies with a machine gun. +You have a lot of options; overall it is just an okay port, but they do have extra options you don't see in many other games. +Invasion mode is goofy and a challenge. Very silly fun! CONS: -The final level in the campaign is a major jump in difficulty. It has to be 90% impossible. I think you have to set everything up just right. -A few levels make you have to position everything 'just right'. If you want to have a cheap game that'll provide hours of fun - get it. If you like strategy games, what are you waiting for!?

Another lazy-effort money grab spit out by the CoD team. I'm probably about to peeve a lot of fan-boys, or as they're more formally known: 12-year-old boys who want aggression do to their frustration of puberty. PROS: +The multiplayer is enjoyable if you're looking for action. CONS: -The story is wooden, stiff, stupid, and boring! Only a person with an extra chromosome could say it is even kind-of interesting. -The singleplayer guns are crooked and unbalanced in the campaign, as always. -The community of prepubescent brats who need their mouths cleaned with soap. Really, no one is going to take your stupid game seriously if you have this community, so how about you remove voice chat - you'll probably decrease the suicide rate around the world. -If you're playing on PC, it is a god awful port, like all CoD games! -It is the same game! Why do people by this garbage! Play Black Ops, or MW2, or the best one - CoD 4, you wanna why? Because they're nearly the same team! I wouldn't touch this game with a 10ft poll if you don't have it. Crap like this shouldn't exist...

Far Cry 39
Feb 1, 2014
As a long-time fan of the Far Cry series I did what is usually a mistake: I got extremely hyped for this game to come out and set my expectations very high - which usually leads me to being very disappointing; well, that is completely NOT the case with Far Cry 3! This game is the definition of action (and insanity :D)! PROS: +The world is massive! If you read my reviews you already know I go gaga over open world games. +This game has some of the best antagonists out of any other video game I have ever played! (The best villains would probably go to the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.) +Incredible voice acting! Like blow-your-face-out-the-back-of-your-head good voice acting! +The beginning of the game is extremely intense! You're constantly running from everything because you're weak and vulnerable (basically, you're a person) and you know a group of pirates or a single tiger can kill you - you get such a vivid painting of the terror of survival! +Related to the one above; this game executes the survival aspect superbly. +While it is reputation of Ubisoft to have cringe-worthy animations they do a really good job in FC3. +If you don't know already, you have the option to take over pirate camps - you have at least 3 ways to approach each base, so you can play your own style in this game - or even experiment with other play styles. +The story isn't incredible like lets say GTA V, or the Last of Us, but it is enjoyable and you'll remember it for a few years, maybe. CONS: -The story missions are linear. I don't know why they decided to do that, but they did: An example of this could be that when you take over a base you can do it half stealthy and half action, action, or stealth; the game in the missions supply you with an infamous yellow-bubble of linearness; this bubble makes you play the mission how it wants you to play the mission. Poor development choice if you ask me... -If you take over a pirate base they stop spawning in that area - which craps on the survival aspect the game does so well. Yes, yes, yes I would recommend this game to anyone - even if they don't like FPS games! It is so worth your money and if you don't have it, pick it up NOW!

Just Cause 26
Jan 31, 2014
Just Cause 2 is the Expendables of the video-game world; it might not have outstanding features, but you get your money's worth through the entertainment it provides. PROS: +It is insane action movie that you control. +The game can be modded. +The multiplayer's good, but only if you have friends with you. +Huge open world! HUGE! CONS: -The story is somewhat original, but nothing to call your friends about, a-matter-of-fact it is kind of bland. -The game constantly thrusts you in to it's generic storyline. -The combat is floaty and odd with elements that making aiming ridiculously difficult at some points. -Who ever optimized this game didn't do a great job. It is just a popcorn game - a game you get out of boredom to pass the time.

E.Y.E: Divine Cybermancy4
Jan 31, 2014
E.Y.E executed some elements perfectly, but sadly the awfulness shines way brighter than the greatness. PROS: +Some of the best gun-play around - it is really that good! +At being a mindless, chaotic, mayhem filled FPS (not always a bad thing by the way), it succeeds with flying colors. CONS: -The story isn't even near worth remembering: it is sadly riddled with cliches, and overall is dull. -They apparently used Google Translate to translate the game into English (the developers are French I believe). -When the gun-play bogs down - it really, REALLY bogs down. -All the dialogue is text based. I know this is something I would usually ignore, but they don't accompany it with any animations or even white noise, making it very boring. -Navigation is terrible! No, I would not recommend this game, but it does seem the developers have a lot of potential.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim9
Dec 14, 2013
A wonderful, fantastic expansion to the magnificent Elder Scrolls series! While no game is perfect, I would strongly recommend this game. PROS: +Hours, and hours, and hours of gameplay! +An incredible modding community. +A story that might not blow you away but you'll remember it for years. +One of the largest open worlds I have ever played in. +While some voice acting might be questionable (but I still wouldn't call the voice acting a 'con' the characters you meet along the way are interesting to say the least. +This game is timeless: There are amazing graphic enhancement mods that beat all games comparing up to it to this day, and users make dozens upon dozens of quests. All the user generated content makes it not only timeless but endless as well! CONS: -There are a few game-breaking bugs. -The animations are pathetic. Overall, I would recommend this game an endless amount, and you should buy it now even if you don't like RPGs, check this out.

Grand Theft Auto V7
Oct 22, 2013
Grand Theft Auto V had my expectations high and it almost reached them. Like every game GTA V has pros and has cons. Somethings I have a problem with might just be my opinion, so they won't be listed as pros or cons. PROS: +The story/dialogue; even if you don't like the plot of the game, you must admit that the dialogue makes the characters feel very real. +Los Santos. The open world is the most famous thing about the GTA series, and this doesn't disappoint! It feels so alive and is incredibly large! +Missions, lots of 'em! The story is fairly long, but there are dozens of side missions, and my favorite: the random events that happen are just as enjoyable as the regular missions, and can add hours to your experience. +The abilities. Not really much to say on this one; chances are you know about them. +The customization! Customize your save into a completely different story than anyone else's! There is so much to customize: weapons, vehicles, and the 3 stooges. Now we get into the not so nice part the cons. CONS: -The missions are very linear. You do have the options on how you rob something, (stealth or loud), but nothing has been more frustrating to my game time than having to land a helicopter EXACTLY on the yellow target area. Seriously, why can't I land it 5 feet away? While there aren't really many ways to go about missions, still, why are we punished for trying something we see just as logical. -A game about heists has a lack of them. When there are heists it is superb, but unfortunately, you have to beat 50-60% of the game to really get into it; overall, the heists are too far between. -Not noob friendly. Probably my biggest problem with the game is it isn't noob friendly. Now, I had trouble with 20% of the missions, and I'd say I am slightly less than the average gamer, but I know that there might be people just getting into video games, or people who just might enjoy video games but are simply just not good at them, they are not going to enjoy the missions later down the road. But I guess everything is a matter of practice. -This is a very, very, VERY teeny-tiny complaint; the women in the game are 2D. Again, this isn't a huge issue, it is just that Franklin and Michael are 2 very rounded, realistic characters and they don't have to look like super-models to appeal to people. But the female characters seem to be nothing more than a pair of in this game. Overall I would say this a good game if you have patience for a few things. I'm not fully sure if I'd say spend $60 on it, but if you like open world, amazing character development, and a challenge, why the heck not.
