Supreme Commander 24
Aug 11, 2016
Oh dear. I expected big things from this game, but I don't think I've ever been disappointed more by a game. It's dumbed down in every way: less units types, less progression, less tactics, less cool, less scope, less complexity, smaller maps. And it's ugly (the graphics are somehow worse that the previous game...?)! It lost pretty much everything that make SC-TA great. I imagine this game is ok if you haven't played SC-TA. However, if you have, this game is just unplayable.

Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance9
Aug 11, 2016
This is one of the best RTSs ever made, making drastic improvements to the SC, which was great anyway. The scale and scope of it is incredible. The 4 factions are diverse and unique, with a massive range of different unit types and levels. It looks and feels like it came out this year. Multiplayer can get a bit hectic late game with nukes and super heavy long range artillery, but these can always be disabled pregame if not to your taste. This is not only the spiritual successor of TA, it is the spiritual surpasser of TA, and that's saying something.

Dungeon Keeper 29
Aug 11, 2016
The second DK title made some serious improvements over the previous game. Larger maps, the introduction of mana, the unconscious state before death, some cool new units (Dark Angels are still one of my all time favourite characters from anything), slicker gameplay, better graphics, a solid amount of maps in a skirmish stylist games, better sounds effects. The "My pet dungeon" modes (especially the last level) give you free reign to build the dungeon of your dreams, and give unlimited access to all levels of enemies. The campaign, is very linear but still fun. It lacked some of the atmosphere and depth of the previous game and for some reason the fights felt less satisfying (which may have been the sound effects, the satisfying thuds and blood from the first game replaced with sad sounding chops and slashes). It was slightly less dark than the first game, and focused a bit more on humour (albeit dark humour). This game lives up to the grandeur of its predecessor. Beware of micro piglets!

Dungeon Keeper9
Aug 11, 2016
An incredibly satisfying game, full of depth, humour and detail. These games are different to anything I've ever played, which takes some time getting used to, but carving out your dungeon and training your creatures and keeping them happy in this game has a feeling to it no other game has. The fights are chaotic and brutal (although sometimes confusing due to lack of solid bodies for the creature so they all just clip into each other, but this is forgivable for such an old game). It has aged reasonably well although the graphics may take a tiny bit of getting used to. This in my opinion is a classic, and one of my all time favourite series.

Fallout 49
Aug 10, 2016
I've played all the Fallout games (excluding tactics) and this one is, well.... just as great as the others. The world, as always is fantastic, so is the atmosphere. The almost intact skyline and city of Boston is fantastic. It has the feeling, the humour and the darkness a fallout game should have. There is the usual junk and item scattered everywhere, with thought about where they are placed, even if they are not at all important. In addition, EVERY junk item in the game can be scrapped for part to use in the new crafting system. The crafting system is brilliant. There are so many weapon upgrades and combinations, you can make practically anything with the right resources and perks. The new power armour mechanic is brilliant, and makes you feel like you are a walking tank, like it should. Power armor can also be modded in a variety of ways. What other game lets you walk around in a bright pink human tank with a rocket powered sledgehammer? VATs is as good as ever. Aiming has been improved from other fallout titles and feels less, but still sufficiently clunky (as in my opinion it should). The main story-line is strong, with kind of two parallel but linked main quests. I can usually predict plot twists but i genuinely did not see the one in this game coming. There are a decent amount of side quests, not quite on the level of the previous games, but still enough and interesting. The settlement feature I loved, especially with the add-ons. It was a great part of the game, tedious at first when you have little resources, but once you get the perks and materials, you can build amazing things. This game will not be for everyone. You NEED to invest in it, you need to be patient. If you spend the time levelling up your character, exploring the wasteland and immerse yourself this game will just keep giving. If you like to rush through a game, complete the main quest and a few side quest then move on, you will miss the best parts of the game. This isnt COD.

Total War: WARHAMMER9
Aug 10, 2016
This game is so much fun, and a title worth of the Total War name. The battles are some of the most satisfying in any Total War game. Each faction has its own unique range of foot soldiers, cavalry, beast, giants, flying units, heroes and magic casters, which adds new complexity, depth and strategy. You can level up your lords and heroes to be unstoppable in battle. Each faction leaders has specific quests to get powerful items that make them even more powerful. Outside of battle, there are new aspects such as vampiric and chaotic corruption that spreads to neighbouring provinces causing unrest. Different thing cause attrition to your armies depending on faction, for example the orcs start to fight amongst themselves in their lust for battle is not satisfied. Different faction have different trade and diplomacy capabilities. Diplomacy is the only thing that seems to be underdone compared to other Total War games, but this is forgivable (it does have the word "war" twice in the title...)
