Improves on the original in terms of film score, character development, storytelling, and visuals. But humor is much like the original. The movie is much mature in content than Shrek 1. But lacks the overall heart and sentimentality that made the original, the Dreamwork's very first standard of their ingenious film career. Shrek 2 explores family relationships and the continuous plot from it's predecessor. Has unexpected turns and twists in the story and memorable characters to behold. The voice casts has solid skills in providing voices for the animation casts. The movie even manages to pull of humorous copycats of famous real-world landmarks and famous iconic movie characters which is ingenious and a necessary improvement over the original. Overall, a rare sequel that still manages to capture the freshness of the first one in other aspects. Great work Dreamworks! Rating: 4/5 -> 8/10 stars

14 years of waiting for this film to arrive, it feels nostalgic to watch this, as a sequel to the original Incredibles 1. In my opinion, it is a humorous and family thoughtful animated movie of the year as of now. Even though Incredibles 2 isn't as "incredible" or fresh as it's groundbreaking predecessor is, still viewers will enjoy the entertaining and rather hilarious mayhem of the new member of the Parr family, Jack-Jack who serves as the main comic relief of this film. The stunning 3D visuals are a fantastic asset of this almost 2 hours Disney-Pixar animated fare. After 14 years of waiting, nostalgia arrives us in the theaters for the arrival of the ingenious Parr family. Mr.Incredible (voiced by Craig T. Nelson) and Elastigirl (voiced by Holly Hunter) along with their two children still got their amazing voice talents and their wittiness which are delivered successfully onto the theater screen. The plot maybe is not as inventive as the original but still compensated by the dramatic action sequences and the wittiness of the Parr family in delivering an entertaining sequel for any group age. Characterization and designs of some of the new characters including the brand new super villain lacks certain depth and innovation but still produces an adequate and acceptable entry throughout the film. Overall, the movie is not a disappointment, it still delivers a watchable experience that viewers will come to love and enjoy. The major pros in this movie, in my opinion, is the humor, amazing 3D visuals, and also the story deserves some extra credit because it includes involvement of family ties, relationships, and family issues revolving around them which is delightful, even though it rehashes some parts of the original. Still a very worthy sequel, after a long 14 years of waiting, and recommended to be watched. Don't forget Edna Mode's quirkiness and humorous moments here which is worth of the wait, and including Frozone's funny wife which is starred in the trailer. Rating: 8/10 -> 4/5 stars

Contagion is informative and tensely plotted. The storytelling is consistent and the acting of the cast is great. The soundtrack for the tensely executed scenes are catchy and great. One of my best "disease outbreak" movies. Rating: 8/10 -> 4/5 stars

This is one of those outbreak or "zombie" movies that are terrifying and full of intense atmosphere that will provide a decent and rather enjoyable treat for moviegoers. The movie has a decent storytelling, splendid film score, soundtrack and lovely characters. The film does not focus all of its strength in providing horror and dread but also manages to provide heart, drama, and transcends it's quality expectations for some moviegoers. It has also nicely themes and messages about social and political issues that deserves some credit from it's viewers. Also, the movie reinvents the zombie genre to an all new level because of it's fast-paced and widely energetic antagonists which in turn makes the film fast-paced as well. Rating: 7/10 -> 3.5/5 stars

The humor is a combination of the qualities of being bland, decent, and exhausting. Though, some scenes are funny. The CGI is bad. The plot is ludicrous, and expect this film's storytelling without sense. The characters' acting performances are kind of forced and also bland. Rating: 3/10 -> 1.5/5 stars

To summarize the overall quality of the film, the visuals are decent. Some visuals are bad because of the fact that some of these CGI effects are over exaggerating a certain disaster in the movie, but summing all those CGI effects, it is appreciable enough. The story, as usual, in this kind of Emmerich's movies is generic and involves a surviving family and a rather illusive government. The running time is long; exceeding 2 hours of movie watching experience. 158 minutes is the total movie time length. The character development in the movie is quite mediocre, although some characters adds some spice to their roles which deserves some appreciation. One thing this movie doesn't live up to my expectation is that it lacks humane feelings or sentiments of most characters which is quite expected in a sci-fi flick like this. Enjoy the CGI for this movie, it will deliver anyhow despite it's long running time. Rating: 7/10 -> 3.5/5 stars

One great thing I like Zootopia is that it emphasizes the racial differences between its characters and addresses discrimination and prejudice. These themes on this movie are so critical to be included in an animation film like this. Some adults, when they first see this movie will think that it is an another "for children and teenagers" movie because of it's characters being anthropomorphic (animals behaving/acting as humans) and obviously an animated feature film; but it is much more than that, the movie will deliver a meaningful message about these strong themes and main ideas that will have a significant impact into a "socially aware" viewer's perception of racial differences. Kids and teenagers will benefit greatly in the animation for this movie thanks to its wonderful characters along with their voice actors/actresses, amazing animation, and an energetic rhythm, that seems to be emanating from the film because of its vivid animation, which adds excitement and enjoyment while watching. The setting of the movie is vibrant and admirable because of its pretty advanced architectural designs which is hard to be animated, in my opinion. I mean look at the design of some buildings in the movie primarily the windows and other glass structures, they sparkle when the sunlight reaches them. The complexity of animating these features are worth noting for. The scope of the area of Zootopia in the movie adds admiration for some viewers and of course, for myself; because of its diversity and relevance to a modern-day New York City or Los Angeles. The main soundtrack "Try Everything" from Shakira is great. It adds excitement and hype for the movie as the music plays and the film explores the city from different angles to discover it's unique landmarks and tourist spots. The two main characters, Judy (voiced by Ginnifer Goodwin) and Nick (voiced by Jason Bateman) are admirable as well along with their chemistry. I like the personality of Nick Wilde in the movie because he tends to be quick-witted and intelligent which transcends the film to be fast-paced on some scenes. Overall, a very recommended movie for everyone. This will surprise. A very strong and formidable Oscar contender for the year Zootopia is released. Rating: 8/10 -> 4/5 stars

Notably, one of the best horror films of 2018. The amount of dread and fright in this movie is subtle. I remember the condition of the theater house when I watched this film, surprisingly the environment is as quiet as the movie itself because you are anxious of what will happen something terrifying or frightening out of the film. This movie had made me jump or scare out of myself because of its sudden or unexpected scares. The cast performance is great and their commitment in the movie of being silent as part of their roles is just astounding. Overall, this horror flick is an enjoyable and memorable treat. Rating: 8/10 -> 4/5 stars

Arguably one of the best animated films of 2017. Coco has heart, consistent storytelling, and likable characters. Watch it now folks, this one is a bomb. Some part of the musical score or tunes in some scenes in the movie may be against my taste (or didn't like it) but the overall quality of the film has greatly compensated that and proves to be a watchable and an enjoyable film for all ages. The movie explores family relationships, strong passion of a person, engaging music, and the Mexican culture. It is an enjoyable film filled with amazing visuals, songs, and sentiments about love of family and their relationship to one another. I have to be honest, I was touched by the relationship of their family and fell melancholy during the ending scenes. The movie shows that love and care still persists even on the other side of life (or after death). The film will teach viewers the importance of family and their relationships to one another. It also relieves us the fear of an inevitable death to each one of us because Pixar tries to be optimistic and positive in a way that it manages to show it's viewers that there is another life or hope in the other side of our lives; not pertaining to religion of course. Pixar has once again deliver another rich cinematic experience for the young and old to love and enjoy. One of Pixar's formidable creations that has a huge impact in the film industry of modern animated films. A formidable Oscar candidate for Best Animated Feature of the year Coco was released. Congrats Pixar, you moved me to this feeling again and the film proves Pixar still has the magic, heart, and brilliance in making these worthwhile and memorable animated films we all come to love since Toy Story was released in 1995. Don't mind the plot of this movie, it is scientifically inaccurate and a mere pseudoscience. Lucy explores the concept of what would happen if humans were able to access 100% of their cerebral capacity as opposed to the claim on the movie that humans only access 10% of their brain. The concept is really mind-boggling and interesting to explore on the movie especially for sci-fi lovers. The action scenes and Lucy's mind abilities is a treat to watch, it is exciting and fast-paced. The seriousness and coolness of Lucy in the movie is engaging to watch because you will expect something bizarre is going to happen. Scarlett Johansson playing as Lucy in the movie has successfully played her role. But there are some scenes that her character in the movie lacks style because of her being emotionless and looked confused in the film which has brought that particular scene in a rather flavorless state. Character development is still an asset of a movie and I think Lucy has missed on that opportunity at some points of the film. Although the movie is bombarded with some convoluted scenarios that is confusing to grasp. Overall, the movie is an exciting and interesting treat to watch. Rating: 7/10 -> 3.5/5 stars

I watched this in a local mall and my expectations for this movie is quite low because, for myself, it is an another generic, cliched Korean horror movie that does not deliver genuine scares and dread. At the beginning of the movie, it seems uninteresting at first but as the movie progresses it becomes interesting and quite spooky. The CGI for this movie is good and not some generic, lackluster effort. The characterization of the cast is quite genuine and performs their acts well. The eerie atmosphere in this movie adds some tension to the seriousness of the film. I despise the lighting of the movie though, it's quite dark and needs improvement over the lighting conditions. The movie manage to pull some different idea on the premise which I think, in my opinion, is an asset for this movie being a good and decent film. Not only the movie itself that is terrifying but also when you googled the setting place and you found out that the abandoned asylum is a real life abandoned establishment in South Korea, it adds another dread to people who just loves horror films.
