2012 takes the disaster movie -- once content simply to threaten the Earth with a comet, or blow up the White House -- to its natural conclusion, the literal end of the world.

As you might suspect, the 2012 dialogue is pure Velveeta.

I'm not a professional but this movie is something else, it really got me worried about the antagonists. But all-n-all great movie if you're into psychological horror movies and also the end of the world.

Eye-popping special effects ensure that this movie will be a smash hit, and while it's entertaining for most of its excessive running time, the cheesy script fails to live up to the grandeur of the physical production.

2012 is totally, certifiably nuts, without being quite as off-the-wall kitschy as Emmerich's last special-effects extravabanzoo, "10,000 BC."

The two-hour-and-40-minute 2012 is overstuffed with special-effects, but the Curtis clan's mad dash out of town is the closest the movie gets to actually being fun.

Perhaps the strangest thing about 2012 is that the bad parts of the film are among the most enjoyable, because they're so over-the-top ridiculous that it's impossible not to break out laughing.

2012 is ultimately only about finding new ways to topple monoliths. Only they don’t feel that new.

10/10 * Krasser Film. Gut gemacht. Sehr unheimlich. Gesamtbewertung ist viel zu wenig. :-O

There was big hype for the end of the world in the year 2012. Heck, I even asked off work on the "day the worlds was supposed to end" just in case it actually did. However, we all knew that wasn't going to happen. Especially this movie, which took the time to capitalize on the hype. This film is honestly silly and not amazing, but there is just something about it that is charming and fun. The action is insane, and honestly, no one should survive.

Boo. This was terrible. A plot so congested it makes the 5 through LA look like the speediest highway in existence. Didn't care for a single character.

The movie was very disappointing. While, the special effects were good, the acting was horrid. John Cusack played a man estranged from his wife, but once again is reunited with her after the disaster, and her new boyfriend is brutally killed. The part in Wyoming was good, but really didn't make sense. HOW THE HECK DID CUSACK MAKE IT OUT OF THAT?!?! After they make it out of Wyoming, we get to see the destroyed Las Vegas, but how are people still here? Then on the plane, we see Honolulu, which is burning due to volcanic eruptions. The film leaves a lot to be desired, populated by forgettable characters, I forgot ALL their names (well, except for the Russian dude, Yuri), the special effects are good, but not the best. This is a solid D-movie, if that is even a thing. I give it a 3/10.
