Deadpool 27
May 20, 2018
"Deadpool 2" is a worthy sequel to the first Deadpool but with just a smidge less. Once again, Reynolds proves himself the best fit for the character with plenty of laughs to go around. But what holds the film back is it's uneventful plot and lack of villain. I walked out not disappointed nor blown away.

Avengers: Infinity War9
May 9, 2018
It is truly unbelievable that "Avengers: Infinity War" isn't a complete disaster with its massive scope and various characters. This is mostly due to the brilliance of the film's surprising writing and solid directing. Although not perfect, the film pulls off an almost incredible task, but most of the film's brilliance comes from it's beautifully handled characters, especially its villain.

A Quiet Place8
Apr 7, 2018
John Krasinski proves himself a worthy director with "A Quiet Place". From the very first scene, you're locked in for a suspenseful, clever film with plenty of scares to go around. Overall, "A Quiet Place" is a contained, solid film with almost nothing to complain about.

"Ready Player One" is a film with so many fun pop culture references that it may distract you from the rather questionable plot points, but the film earns major points for its creativity, charming cast, and exhilarating action sequences. Overall, "Ready Player One" is pure popcorn entertainment where everyone will find one guaranteed thing; Pure fun.

Apr 3, 2018
"Red Sparrow" is a film which deserves recognition for its realism and nail-biting sequences. with a great cast, particularly Jennifer Lawrence, "Red Sparrow" makes for an entertaining thriller. But unfortunately, the film does slightly fall apart due to a very muddled plot.

Annihilation9
Feb 27, 2018
With mesmerizing visuals, a chilling score, and strong performances, Alex Garland's book to film adaption "Annihilation" doesn't disappoint. From start to finish, your eyes are glued to the screen and you can't look away from an almost masterpiece of a film, leaving the audience with chills down their spines. "Annihilation" is sure to go down as one of the great Sci-Fi films and, no doubt, one of the best films of the year thus far.

Mute6
Feb 25, 2018
Duncan Jones is a director who I respect a lot. With films like Moon and Source Code, his movies are ones which I enjoyed very much. As for his latest film "Mute", it's a mixed bag. Mute's first half is a foggy mess with some entertaining scenes. As for the second half, it's a delightful, twisted fantasy with entertaining characters and truly great direction. But it's small chunks of greatness can't save it from it's head-scratching plot. "Mute" left me with a positive attitude but with a strong taste of disappointment.

Black Panther8
Feb 17, 2018
Marvel Studio's "Black Panther" made all the right decisions with their latest work. Writer/Director Ryan Coogler gives the audience some beautiful visuals, a beautiful score, and beautiful themes with some spectacular action. Although delved in all its greatness, at the end of the day it does kind of feel like just another entertaining Marvel flick. But other than some nitpicks, "Black Panther" comes out on top as one of the better Marvel movies. It's not just a good movie, it's a great one.

The Cloverfield Paradox3
Feb 17, 2018
As a Sci-Fi thriller, you can find some entertainment in "The Cloverfield Paradox", but the film doesn't hold back with its head-spinning pacing and head-scratching moments. Other than some good acting, cool visuals and some glimmers of cleverness, the film comes out as a major disappointment in the Cloverfield franchise and leaves you with a giant question mark over your head.

Maze Runner: The Death Cure5
Feb 17, 2018
Director Wes Ball and his rather talented cast deserves some credit for sticking with the Maze Runner franchise until the end. With some entertaining action sequences, pleasant acting and a few surprises along the way, unfortunately "Maze Runner: The Death Cure" only comes off as a "been there, done that" type situation.
