Just an entertaining short movie, it’s not something you’ll be blown away by but knows what it’s trying to do and does it well. Simple laid back mystery film.

This film needs to spend more time trying to find a bit of its own identity than it does reusing comedy from the old one or calling back to the old one. If you haven’t seen the first then a lot of the jokes/references will go over your head and if a film can’t stand up by itself then it isn’t much **** film. I had high expectations for this since I quite enjoyed axel f as an example for how bringing back 30 year old classics can work but it just doesn’t land here. Stuffing the film with cameos as a distraction doesn’t make it good either.

A good continuation of the series, a lot of people will find something to dislike but these things are small. They’ve translated a TV into an interesting 2 hour movie which holds the heart of the original tv show, Idris Elba is still great. Good performance from Andy Serkis.
