Eriksholm: The Stolen Dream

As a stealth fan this was an easy must-play for me: relaxed, simple stealth and nice visuals. In the end though, I never really connected with the story, the locations all blended together, and despite beautiful cutscenes the whole experience started to feel like a series of polished flash games. It’s short and not overly repetitive, and I did have a decent time sneaking around, but in the end, it didn't click as much as I expected. However, it was fine experience when you just want a relaxing game after a long day.

It didn't hook me as much as the first entry from the start, but as soon as you start exploring the gruesome scenes in EVERY house, every cave and just every corner of the map, it kind of pulls you in and won't let go. First half is much more scary imo, second is more of a run and move on. The Mill part is one of the best levels in horror games I've ever played - the visuals, the details and level design, the enemies, the ascend and fall allegory... just perfect. The alternation between real-time parts in the village and the past in school was pretty good idea as well and the transitions nicely made as well (except the enemy in school - it was like wtf, how could that go through executives?). Eventually, slightly less entertaining and scary than first one, but pretty good experiences as well, mainly visually of horor and slasher-like vibes.

Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy

Guardians of the Galaxy almost lost me at the start: sluggish pacing, boring combat, and lots of talking with what felt like no real progress. Then the story quietly kicks in and suddenly becomes abolutely EPIC without one realising it, and from that point it’s incredibly **** game looks phenomenal – huge, spectacular environments, detailed interiors, and excellent character models... all are one marvel next to another, making you feel the enormousness equal (or better) to that in the movies in cinema. Yet, it is very well optimized performance-wise and runs completely smoothly even with highest graphics **** big downside is that combat stays pretty dull even with all the team abilities. AND the ship flying/combat sections are outright tragic.Despite that, the writing, performance and overall story are so strong that it still ends up being a breathtaking, cinematic experience.

Alan Wake II: Night Springs Expansion

Contains 3 episodes, separate short stories including one of the Remedy-verse characters. 1) One true fan - very boring imo, the story wasn't any appealing, the Alan Wake mechanics were hardly there. More of a zombie-like game with shooting waves of enemies. 2) Jesse Faden in the Coffee world - better story and Alan Wake atmosphere with some little mystery behind it. Quite short but OK. It was nice to see Jesse again, now in Alan Wake game, but the game-part itself was rather boring. 3) Time Breaker - quite a great story with more Remedy-verse characters, mostly great atmosphere with nice surrounding (mainly the hotel) and good storytelling. Best episode imo.

Next level of story telling. The narrative is insanely immersive, the voices are imo innovative yet brilliantly executed. Same goes for the acting. The cinematic experience is no less quality, it can feel a little "small" because it is not an AAA game, but the work with camera just upgrades it even without a huge world. The puzzles are not hard, yet quite entertaining. The combat is rather simple, yet perfectly exectuted and very well optimized, which is a miracle to see. It also plays well into the game's cards that it's rather short because it already started to feel slightly repetitive, so if it were longer, I bet it would damage player's experience. So, this is mainly artistic, dramatic and acting adventure that any player who likes story-focused games MUST play.

Alan Wake II: The Lake House Expansion

The gameplay is very similar to the main game with only a little expansion. The connection to Control was a pleasant experience, diving deeper into the whole "Wake-verse", and expanding the FBC activiets in quite a digestible way. The dlc's story could've been told better (more cut-scenes maybe) rather than lots of repeating notes, but it was not too bothering after all.

What an adventure that was! Brilliant story-driven game, fantastic mechanics, brilliant story and transitions between two words of Saga and Alan, scene-rewriting into reality and Saga's mindplace were fantastic and innovative. Loved how the the manuscript pages were found very "easily" (unlike in the first game where most were easily missed) yet not forced into the story. Personally wasn't very into the "fighting" in the Alan part, prefered the old Saga light'n'burn way. Beside that, I found the performance dropping behind from time to time. Even with that, one of the best game I played lately and probably the best story-focused game ever.

First entry I have played and I was pretty astonished and enjoyed great part of the game. Loved most of the stories, characters and mechanics. There were a few bosses I rather dislike (e.g. some that would play like 6 times in row etc...). The ending was super-disappointing.

Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus

Probably my least favorite Wolfenstein entry. I hoped for another New Order, but it was far below it imo. Too many cut-scenes, too much story, too much "base missions"... I usually play these games cuz I want tons of action and heavy shooting, just playing mission killing ****. There was a big unbalance in this area. The level design was great, I enjoy every level as for the graphics and **** heavy machinery along with concrete brutalism, but that was pretty much it for me.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

Expedition 33 floored me: the world, story, art direction, music, and combat-style... all sing in harmony, and the turn-based combat stays snappy and rarely repetitive. My only gripe is the lack of guidance across the world — I missed areas on my first pass, and when I finally found them I was over-leveled, which dulled the challenge and impact. Still a small blemish on an unforgettable experience. One of the best game I've ever played. Easy 10/10.

The world is lovely and the movement around is satisfying. The game idea is very new and interesting, which caught my eye in the first place. However, the game didn't feel immersive at all. I was bored with the puzzles, they felt really easy and not interesing in any way. Like a set of Adobe Flash games. Feels more like a children game imo

Unplayable on PS5, the framerate is unbearable. As for PC, the graphics with HDR is unbelievably amazing, the story is great, writing as well. The controls, mainly movements, are very badly optimized at some moments. The DLC is a great continueing, very nice protagonist and story as well. The controls felt better but not perfect.

Thymesia

Another proof that Sekiro is deservedly the pinnacle of its genre—creating a flawless deflect system is not far from impossible. While the combat in Thymesia has the potential to be engaging, its individual mechanics are so poorly optimized that the battles end up being neither fun nor challenging, but outright frustrating. The bosses fare even worse—with nonsense attacks and poorly executed cutscenes. I was incredibly excited about Thymesia as a promising soulslike game, which might be why it turned out to be one of my biggest gaming disappointments ever. To be fair, it’s a visually well-made game, and there are some original ideas, like the Wounds mechanic in combat, which is both interesting and innovative. I also appreciated the straightforward and clear skill tree, as well as the sensible upgrade system.

Amazing game. The graphics were stunning (except the water, that felt cheap). The story, the setting at oil rig was interesting and quite unusual. It was all pretty immersive. Unfortunatelly, with the VERY STRONG scottish accent I couldn't really carry with the sad story and with every conversation had to giggle, but whatever it didn't make it any worse, also an unusual touchto a game.
