Bloodborne9

My favourite of the Souls of FromSoftware. Although the story may seem vague, you can piece together something for yourself. The difficulty is really high, even for someone who already played Souls games. The combat is just great. One of the best combat systems in my opinion, outclassed only by Sekiro's. The game is a mixture of classic horror elements, it excellently blends many genres like gothic horror and mostly lovecraftian cosmic horror. It is also a very... "bloody" game. It is not ashamed of showing off streams of blood and deformed bodies. You know that a game is very violent if it has "blood" in the title. ANYWAYS. I will not spoil anything, go play it for yourself. Graphically... it could have been better. I don't know how it runs on a PS4 pro, but my normal version just sounds like a helicopter when i play it. It lacks dynamic lightning, making the textures look quite flat sometimes. Framerate drops when too many things are on the same screen... these things could have been polished for a better experience... but it doesn't decrease the rating at all. For the variety of enemies, weapons (which are considerably lower in number compared to Dark Souls, but are all unique with different abilities), characters and bosses, it deserves all of its praise.

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night8

IGA finally gives us back his creativity after a long time... without Konami's brand on it. A metroidvania experience that delivers us great boss battles, majestic soundtrack and many weapons to use. Although, i have to talk about the level design... even though the castle is VERY big, levels just didn't feel too linked like in Symphony of the Night for example.. and sometimes the game pretended you to understand were to go and how to go in certain locations. Like in that water area where i had to use a shard of a certain monster to propel Miriam into the water to reach an opening. How were you supposed to know that? Did i miss some indications? Also i never actually used any food and MOST demon shards. There just seemed to be too many of them. Again, the game is not perfect, but it is a great take on metroidvanias by a forefather of the genre. The game also has many cool secrets to find. Here's my take on this great game.

Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon9

It delivers what it was made for. Promised to be made if a certain goal was reached on Ritual of the Night's Kickstarter page. A great throwback to old Castlevania games. I played through it like it was nothing, enjoyed every second of it. Smooth gameplay, terrific soundtrack, peak quality. Challenging at times, the final level was a pain... i think i 100% it in one day. It was my first 100% game. You liked Castlevania? Old veteran titles? This is for you.

Now... let's see... The game itself looks good. Has a great art style and great atmosphere both in StW and BR. But... the game was ruined the day it became the biggest game of 2017-2018. The team focused more on Battle Royale, as it became bigger than Save the World, which offered a wave-based combat against hordes of zombie-like enemies. StW quickly becomes repetitive and boring... and i think it still isn't "finished" in 2020. Battle Royal on the other hand... made me literally addicted. I would play every day as soon as i got from school, alone or with my friends. I would rage at soccer skin sweaty tryhards building Burj Khalifas to win the game at all costs... that is to me why the game was ruined. Competition and Fortnite just don't work in the same sentence. I mean, just look at the **** show the world cup was! Like, 40+ people in the smallest circle. HOW? How can these people sweat so hard even in darn public games! What's wrong with them? Seriously... to me these people are ruining the game. Back when i played it, i was forced to "git gud" as some people would say. You couldn't do otherwise... the only great addition to the game was Creative mode, which i still play sometimes with my friends as it is still one of the only All-Platform crossplatform games. I'm ashamed of myself when i think of the countless hours i spent on this game... also the money i spent on it... dang you Epic!

An entertaining and atmospheric experience that changed the FNaF formula. Although this takes more time to explain the lore of the series, it is a worthy and sometimes challenging take in Scott's creations. edit: forgot to talk about the soundtrack, which is very cool!

Crash of the Titans8

Remember playing this at my grandmas house. I replayed it recently and... i have to say nostalgia hits pretty hard sometimes. Of course, this just isn't a Crash game. Yeah... you can spin... but the gameplay is totally different, as you make your way through hordes of mutants by fighting them with bare hands, or by using other mutants, as you can "jack" the bigger and more vicious looking ones, take control of them and use them as weapons. Compared to what people say, i actually like the redesigns. Yeah... unpopular opinion... it overall is NOT a bad game at all. It's also quite funny sometimes. Soundtrack is also cool and catchy. Just DON'T play this on Nintendo DS. That version is a completely different and much worse game.

Blinx: The Time Sweeper9

You're telling me that some company made a game... with a cat that shoots trashcans at monsters with a vacuum cleaner... uses time controls to manipulate the environment... while having to save a human princess from a gang of evil pigs... and was overlooked?! Seriously, this game was my childhood favourite. Still, one of my favourite games of all time. A concept so absurd even the mind of some obscure indie developer could not conceive... if you have an Xbox One, try it, as it is available for retrocompatibility. Overwhelmingly underrated in my opinion. Wouldn't mind at all if some company took the IP and remastered it. Although i hate 3d platformers, this one actually isn't that bad in it. Mostly... it has charming areas, each one with a unique atmosphere and soundtrack. Oh boy the soundtrack... spectacular. So, what's the objective of this game? You play as a cat. You have a vacuum cleaner. **** trashcans and barrels with it, shoot them at the monsters. Kill all enemies in a limited time to win. You can also use "Time Controls" as i mentioned earlier, which you can use to manipulate time at your will. You can pause it, rewind it, slow it, fast forward it... hell, you can even record a clone of yourself to do things for you! Character design is just great and full of personality. Each time monster is totally unique and has their special abilities, like turning into a spike ball and charge at you or eating the trash if you shoot at them from the front. Bosses also are mostly well designed and some are thrilling! The difficulty also skyrockets on late game! I still haven't managed to finish the game to this day, as the final boss is something out from Dark Souls's lost episode. It also has great graphics for a 2002 game! Like any game before the 2010s though, it has those collectathons. In this one, we have cat medals hidden in every level. Some are in plain sight, some are well hidden. The biggest flaw of this? Couldn't succeed on the market like other games. Mostly veterans will remember this game. It also got a terrible sequel. It just cannot reach the amounts of weirdness the first has. Can someone please make a petition to remake or remaster this lost pearl ****? I has to be revived in some way... That's about it. Later.

Fable: The Lost Chapters9

I played this game back when i was a little kid on the first Xbox. I always replayed the same parts over and over again, on different save files... i fully played it and finished it in 2016, if i recall correctly and wasn't disappointed. It has a great fantasy atmosphere, a nice combat system and cool monster designs! Low key the thing i liked the most. Each location has a charm, from the saddening Witchwood to the dreadful Darkwood, they all feel unique. The soundtrack is also marvellous. The only thing that i have to say about it, is that human models didn't age well at all... as they don't look too great, especially the faces. But that doesn't keep me from saying that this game deserved and still does deserve lots of praise.

Deltarune: Chapter 19
Apr 1, 2020
I played this in a one-way playthrough on Halloween night as soon as i got home from a trip with friends. It was great. If other chapters come out, i might like more this than the original predecessor, as i like way more the mysterious atmosphere around it. Of course, it's the first chapter, but oh boy what a great chapter! Music is excellent as always, characters are lovable and gameplay feels more like an original RPG. It didn't seem to have much influence with the choices i made though... hopefully it changes in the future.

This game brought me so many emotions back when i first played it. It is the very culmination of how far can a lone developer can go. Everything and everyone has a personality in it. The soundtrack is beautiful, no comment on that. The thing i like the most about it is how suddenly it can go from stupidly silly to edgier than an edgelord. To me, this is what makes this game shine, other than stellar writing and character development. You can actually feel really bad about murdering any enemy in this game. This is how affectionate you can get. One of my favourite games of all time, hands down.

FNaF World7
Apr 1, 2020
I'm gonna be honest... i actually really enjoyed it. The first time i played it though, i was disappointed to see an 8bit world, when in the trailer it was 3d. Scott's decision to make this game free was stellar, as it would have continued to have bad reviews. Now... fully updated... with changed graphics... still needed some polishing. I'm saying needed, as Scott is still ashamed of making this game and will probably never update it again. The "turn-based" combat isn't a turn-based combat. Actions that the characters can make seem to appear randomly when they feel like it. Enemies also attack at random. The game is RNG at its best... but i still enjoyed many things of it. Having to fight a character before having them in your party is a cool idea (reminds me of Smash bros.), the self-awareness of some characters is also great and the humor is stellar to me. The game also has many endings! Some of which are hard to get... the Halloween update also brought some "minigames" that take inspiration from classic titles like Metroid and Star Fox. What else do i have to say about it? Scott, you had such a great title in your hands! If only you didn't rush it at first... it probably would have stayed on the Steam platform.

Five Nights at Freddy's 46

When i first watched the trailer of it, i was super excited. It is still my favourite trailer of all of the games. But... the game... Got to say it's my least favourite. Even though it has some of my favourite animatronics, still, the gameplay isn't what i craved for. I was so curious about how you would have fended off the nightmares. Well, when i saw that you needed to listen for breathing, i was excited at first, but i never actually liked having to crank up my audio to hear the sounds... this actually brings a great fear factor. The anxiety it creates to actually mess up and get jumpscared while having that audio at 90% or more... truly terrifying. The game also gets quite challenging during later nights. You are greeted with an atari-like minigame every time you finish a night that tells the story of a crying child. If you don't know the lore of the game, they might just look like nonsense to you, which ****. Well, that's it.

Five Nights at Freddy's 37

Overall my favourite in the series, due to the atmosphere, nostalgia (as i first played it in the first year of middle school) and Springtrap. Why a 7? Well, even though i really like it, i recognize some of its flaws. As i said, the atmosphere is great, dreadful as many people say. The gameplay though... it's probably my least favorite and less satisfying of all games in the series. Yet again, the game is strategy-friendly, with even less elements of randomness and unpredictability. This removes fear factor. Hell, you can block Springtrap in one room if you correctly play your audios. Audio playing and rebooting is also quite boring.. the fact that you really have to look hard to find Springtrap is cool, as he hides in the dark corners of the rooms. Finding secrets is also a great part of the game, and getting the good ending is satisfying. Again, i like the game but.... to me it doesn't cost 7.99.

Five Nights at Freddy's 27
Apr 1, 2020
Probably the FNaF i played the most. It is much more replayable than the first and it is just satisfying to fend off the animatronics with the mask, although... it could have used more polishing with the coding. The toy animatronics are my nemesis, as they take from 0.1 seconds to 8 seconds to go away. It is extremely annoying RNG and it really shows in later nights. The gameplay is much more strategical and predictable than the first. By night 5, you will only check the Music Box camera, as you won't have time to check the others, as it winds down very quickly. Jumpscares also rapidly become dull and predictable the more you play it. BUT... it is overall a good game and i still enjoy going back to it sometimes.

Five Nights at Freddy's8

The game that started it all. At the time, it was something truly original. Scott did really hit the jackpot with this. Looking back at it, it aged meh.. The jumpscares don't really affect me anymore. Of course, it's only human to jump after hearing a loud and sudden noise, but the atmosphere and the sounds favored the fear factor, to then culminate in an animatronic bunny screaming at your face. After playing this over and over again, you get used to it. But i have to say, out of all the games, the animatronic models are actually really creepy. Graphics are really realistic sometimes, and lighting is great, although the game is limited by the engine. Due to this, it lacks an options menu and many other features like resolution scaling (which could be an issue) and volume configuration. I want to remind some people that this game was made by a single developer. For the effort he put into this game, he truly deserves the positive response he got with this. This game also made him have a comeback, as Chipper and sons didn't do so well... Yes, it is short, but for the price it has, i guess it's okay.

Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria Simulator8
Apr 1, 2020
This is probably the scariest one for me, as you mostly cannot make strategies due to the animatronics being truly unpredictable. Strategies are what made the games less scary for me, and i got to give Scott credit for making this less "tryhard-able" and pumping up the anxiety factor. The difficulty of the task processing truly peaks on the last night (with all animatronics at least). Probably the second hardest night in all of the series. It took me 20+ minutes to finish night 4... just imagine the fifth. Other than that, the tycoon part is really cheerful, trying out all the attractions is usually funny (lookin' at ya Helpy) and finding secrets is also great. Salvaging is anxiously stellar, it can deliver some good scares if your guard is down. Overall a great take on the series. Did i mention that it's free?
