Godzilla vs. Kong6

You get what you want from this monster movie. I don't really remember what the human element was actually trying to accomplish, but Kong and Godzilla were very visually entertaining and exciting.

Very strong musical theatre vibes. No knockout earworms but I really enjoyed each song as they were happening. I like the heart of this, the characters are fun and endearing and the colours are bright!

Godzilla: King of the Monsters6

You get what you sign up for with this one. It's fun, entertaining visuals and CGI. Pretty solid cast of characters and Kaiju fights. Tick, tick.

Godzilla6

There's more plot here than I was expecting, but also a lot of futile action which depending on what you're looking for can be frustrating. It's a pretty good crash bang monster flick but I wish the antagonist monsters looked a little cooler.

I really enjoyed this with the nostalgia factors all in my favour, having been in high school in pretty much the same time with lot's of catholic family. It's funny and endearing and really commits to its comedic tone and beautifully utilizing the hypocrisy of catholic shame. Natalia Dyer gives a great performance. My main gripe is that they played it safe in the climax.

Very good. I just wish they’d gotten the ensemble together sooner, we spend too much time just listening to Harry cry. Other than that the pacing it’s good, things escalate at the right time and there’s just enough information vs mystery to guess what might happen next but you’re always a little bit wrong so it keeps you guessing. Rachel and Marsha have GREAT chemistry, but I can’t help but think that Teri’s story is a bit more interesting than Jean’s. Does Jean have a wardrobe that matches each safe house?? Looks good but it’s a bit odd.

Regina King came in on an absolute mission. An incredible discourse of black voices. The whole film flows from scene to scene with only a few exceptions of drag. I really like the sound editing that actively helps us feel like we're in the minds of the characters. A great ensemble cast that flourished under King's direction, with stand out Kingsley Ben-Adir as well as Leslie Odom Jr.'s silky silky voice.

Incredible and relatable. It's current and a perspective on "growing up" that we don't usually get to see in coming of age movies. We don't have to stop believing and relinquish the magic of life to be an adult. Fun, quirky and magnetic. Great performances flourish under a great director and that happened here.
