I hated season 1, I think I gave it 3 points, but I was bored and I'm all for second chances so I watched the first episode of season 2 last night. What can I say, they added insult to injury and season 2 starts even worse than the first one. There are maybe 5 minutes that remind me of the books, the rest is something else. If the something else would be entertaining, I wouldn't mind, but it is boring as hell and badly written and continues the strong women useless men trope from season 1. The only decent actress in this pile of garbage is Rosamund, she makes some scenes bearable, albeit her character is borderline unlikeable. The rest of the show is an excuse, to give the ugliest bunch of talentfree actresses I have ever seen on screen a job. Don't watch, you might end up scratching your eyes out, which would probably be less painful than watching this hate crime.

A Netflix show with a female lead, I can honestly say, I did not expect much. But I was really surprised how much I actually enjoyed it. Simply said, it has some flaws, but it is overall great entertainment with an amazing Jenna Ortega as the centerpiece of the show. Wednesday is a nice amalgamation of Adams Familiy, Harry Potter, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and Buffy, with a healthy dose of Tim Burton. It is well made, the story is good with some nice twists, it has a great cast, visuals are mostly stunning due to filming on location and a great soundtrack. On the downsight, it is somewhat generic. A few plot points feel drawn out or neglected and not every twist is really that surprising. Definitely looking forward to season 2!

Just saw the trailer for season 2 and remembered watching it. Warrior Nun is what I call a guilty pleasure, you know it is bad, but you can't stop watching. As a review I can't give more than 6 points and that is a stretch, yet at the same time - if you are into urban fantasy - I can highly recommend it. It is over the top Buffy like fun with a great female lead.

I had a chance to see the first episode as it is currently free on YouTube. So, this is not a full review and probably won't be for quite some time, but I liked, what I was able to see. Well made, very much GoT like, entertaining, great effects, great score, story is so far engaging. On the downside, it is lacking in likeable characters, Rhaenyra is... cute, but very one-dimensional. I hope, the story, does not center too much on her. Daemon is at least compelling, I hope he is not in for the traditional big bad of the season treatment.

After episode 2 I have to go down to 1 point. I mean, who is writing this stuff? 5 year olds? There is not a single dialogue in the whole episode that is not dumb and awful. And as part of the male audience I can't help but feel insulted every minute or two. I have seen the first episode and probably give it a second chance. It is not as bad as I have thought, I was fully prepared to hate it and rate it 0, but it deserves somewhat better. First of all, the Hulk is not butchered as much as I have thought and She-Hulk is not as obnoxiuous as I have thougth. Both have some good moments. However, all in all this is probably the worst Disney has put on the screen so far. It is boring, the humor is not working, the characters are bland, Maslany is miscast and the cgi is an insult to boot. Worst of all, the show clearly shows, there are no consequences in the MCU. After watching the first episode I'm fully prepared for Tashas and Tonis return from the grave, turning Endgame completely into a joke.

Great idea, clunky execution, boring Mary Sue moments, that kinda sums it up. So, first of all, for a show called Moon Knight it has way to less Moon Knight in it! Maybe a total of 20 minutes? A better title would be "Oscar Isaac exploring unlikeable personalities". Biggest problem, these personas deviate a lot from the comic book origin, making the main persona a weak, submissive, unlikeable dude in constant need of saving which the empowered female gladly provides. If that is Disneys idea on how to treat Marvel characters right, I'm really worried for the future!

Too much female empowerment too little respectful treatment of Hawkeye and the story in general. Feels like the scripts lack some serious quality control. It is still somewhat enjoyable, the show has it moments and kinda reminds me of the first Die Hard movie. Some kudos for Florence Pugh, I really really like her, she plays Yelena with a sassyness that's amazing.

The better Star Trek. What started as a parody developed so much heart and soul it outshines the original. Great actors, great stories, respectful treatment of political and social topics and fun to boot. I haven't seen the last season yet, as it is not yet available in my country, but I have high hopes for it!

More a rating than a review... I found it ok for the first seasons, probably most for the addition of Anson Mount as Captain Pike and some really good space battles. But even during these "good times" many episodes were pure cringe. After Anson left and they made they're time jump, it is only cringe. Had to quit watching it, essentially ruins a once great franchise.

Unwatchable, had to quit after episode 2 of season 2 because this series is a real threat to my mental health. All the problems have already been stated, I can't add much to it. I'm really surprised this shows still sits at 3,6 how can anybody find it decent?

Not much to say about it, a great action series with great actors, a decent story, great sets and practical effects. It clearly caters to old school movie lovers like me, meaning there is not an ounce of woke to it, which is probably why critics reject it. Only negative thing I can say about it, it is pretty slow going at times. If that doesn't bother you, binge it, it is really great entertainment!

I've not seen the whole series, I'm at episode 7, so I might change the review in the next days. So, first of all, I'm not a hardcore Sandman comic book fan, bareley read it, maybe a few standalone issues, but I'm aware of the story and the characters. With that in mind, let's talk about the elefant in the room, the casting. I don't think it works, all that gender and race swapping doesn't go well with me. The problem with adopting a graphic novel is, people have a very detailed image in mind, how a character should look. Deviate too much from it and people are upset, it's only natural. But... Are the chosen actors good? Yes, they are! So, all in all I'd say it is a decent adoption of the source material. I sometimes have the feeling it was actually done panel by panel and line by line. That's good and bad at the same time. Good in terms of staying true to the source material, bad in terms of really adepting it for another media to the advantage of that media. You have way more time on a TV show, you can invest in smaller characters, enhance dialogue... I kinda feel they missed a bit of an opportunity here. One piece of the story, or rather the characters, that does not work for me is Johanna Constantine. Apart from the gender swapping and a huge missed chance (Neil, we really, really love John!) she has some strong Mary Sue vibes. So I'd say the swap was not done well because it changed the core of the character and that's a no go. From my point of view the show looks good, sometimes even gorgeous! Yes, there is a lot of CGI and it is recogniczable as CGI, but what do people expect these days? The only real problem I had so far with was Gregory, these days creature effects seem to lack a lot. Everything else looks really good to me. Finally, is it woke? Or is it too woke? I can kinda understand why people are upset, but honestly dudes, the comic was woke way before someone invented the word. Sandman always was a rather odd piece of work with non-binary characters, so get over it, it wasn't changed in that regard. So all in all I enhoy it. I can see ways how this could have been done better, I'm not a fan of the casting, some effects are odd, but it is one of the better adaptations out there and enjoyable!

It is probably not fair when I "review" this, because I'm pretty sure I am not the target group. But at the same time I can't tell you who is, therefore I give it a shot. The show is so much cringe and cliche I couldn't bring myself yet to finish the first episode. Kamala Kahn is simply not a great character, the actress kinda works, she definitely has charisma, but she can't turn a hero nobody asked for in an interesting person. To say something positive, I really really like the visual ideas! Maybe I'll try to watch it another day, for now I can't recommend it, at least not to adults. Rating wise it would be best if I could just choose a "not applicable". As a final thought, this gets me worried for "The Marvels" or whatever it will be called.

Reacher is a rare and refreshing thing these days, an oldschool action thriller series without an ounce of woke to it. I found it to be highly entertaining, intelligent with a great cast and well made. Definitely a lot better than the cruise movies Alan Ritchson is perfect for the role and I can't praise Willa Fitzgerald enough.
