It's meh. Its short, but 'ok' for a DLC I guess. I only bought this to stream it for my audience, least the ad revenue paid for it, otherwise I would NEVER have bought it. Only a handful of new Pokemon, the other 100 or so in the Pokedex are from past games for this region. The dialogue is as awful as ever. The games are made terribly poor with so many black screens, as bare minimum character animations such as one of the new side characters who is meant to be following you to each destination simply says: I'll meet you there and appears only when you get there. So cheap to have him run with you. FPS is as bad as I remember from the base game. Glitches, do I need go on? It's as if ZERO progress has been made since the release. They give you a selfie stick to capture photos even though the Rotom phone floats... like seriously... come on... They did fix the box speed though so that's a plus. Music can be nice at times. Mini game is ok and some side story stuff. But boring new characters that add nothing to the overall game really. Main story is short and not compelling in the slightest, so weak. Legendaries are comical to look at. Why even bother anymore. Also the price point is ridiculous for this (yes its 2 parts), but its half the price of the base game and tiny in scope. I have zero hope for the next part. Do better. I DO NOT recommend buying this unless you are some super diehard fan. Its disappointing because the company can get away with it.

A worthy follow-up, which improves in almost every way. Varied weapons, skill tree, a nice mix of platforming to complement the combat. I would appreciate more standard enemies instead of just variants (different colour with different element of damage). The bosses are overall fair and generally well telegraphed, although the difficulty curve starts well, then seems to go all over the place, as with later bosses feeling far easier than beginning (this could be from reflexes improved or better abilities/magic). This can be apparent with enemies later that their main difficulty is they take half your health bar with a hit (yes, this can be mitigated with appropriate items etc). Audio and music are serviceable, yet I felt I loved the music more this time round. If you are a completionist, this game is very doable, however, there is some very obscure achievements/items that seem a little too vague just because they can, such as the finding of 10 hidden symbols. The NPC's and bosses and some death animations are still grotesque as ever. The Game Kitchen took to heart feedback from the original and made this truly what defines a sequel. Worth the price point and can't wait for DLC (there was 3 in the original). Kudos devs.

Once the honeymoon ends, we see what little this game has to offer... What starts off as a great addition to the series, quickly becomes extremely boring with a lack of end-game content or interesting things to do outside of nightmare dungeons. The world quickly becomes obsolete and you spend your time in the same dungeons again and again. Too many stat types on items with many meaningless additions. Balancing has been all over the place since the beginning and the first major patch was a giant miss to many players with communication. The first season is monotonous in tone and scope and only adds to the inventory problem. The devs need to really get inventive on the base game and seasons going forward. This game probably needs another year or even an expansion before it finally feels good. A lot of promise, but falls far from delivery. The story starts at a high, grounds to a terrible slow mid game and then picks up at the end. Cinematics are top notch and voice acting. Graphics are glorious at times, but we cannot properly see every detail with how the game plays, also please add more camera zoom in/out features soon. The devs are committed to fixing the game, but the game needed another 6-12 months in the oven realistically. I may update my score at a later date but this is a mid-game and most streamers have stepped away from this game for now and the views on Youtube etc are dwindling.

Absolute stellar game, a masterpiece. Intrinsic stories with a great cast. Visually striking imagery and the world itself. Nuances in its voice-acting and great turn-based gameplay. My only major quibbles are the bugs. It's to no surprise that there will be many in a game of such a scope and Larian (the studio behind the game) are constantly pushing out fixes. Still, it can take you out of the immersion from time to time from cutscenes not appearing to characters walking through walls. The other big downside is sometimes the camera really doesn't know what it's doing in battle and cutscenes at times and it can be a little frustrating, and sometimes downright hilarious. Either way, this game is spectacular and is truly a once in a generation type game. I wish other studios gave as much heart and soul to this game like they do instead of running it into the ground with micro-transactions - which this game is free from anything in-game. Major kudos to the team, you should be proud!

An ambitious sequel which tried to capture the best of the original and couple it with Monster Hunter and more Dark Souls systems, and failed miserably. The game is frustrating more so than difficult. It feels unbalanced, untested and far more clunky than the original. Many sequels cannot quite live up to the original, and this game belongs in that pile.

(Wrote this for the PC review too also as I tried both) I gave this game a 1 because the gameplay is actually very good, it feels and plays like a standard Diablo. That is the sad end to the good. The game crashes and is buggy on both PC and mobile (PC more so but its in open beta so I can understand this to a degree). The story is forgettable with characters you couldnt care about and most die shortly after introduced to them anyway. The main problem is the P2W aggressiveness and predatory practices which ruins every aspect of the game. In the back of your head every hour you put into this game, you know someone is already months or years ahead of you just because they opened their wallet and spent 1000s. So what is the point in playing if you're not willing to pay? It's a WASTE OF TIME. You cannot win in PVP unless there are whales in your group. You cannot get great legendary gems because they cannot drop for you as a free to play player, only certain low star gems. The aggressive caps prevent you making any decent progression for free, a paywall is hidden almost at every corner and blatantly in your face. Winning wars as shadows/immortals a core feature to the game will come down to paying, battlegrounds comes down to paying, getting the best PVE gear and higher content is down to paying. As a free to play player there is simply no real way to get a decent footing in the game. You pay or you lose. At least you can enjoy the story mode for free. And even if you're going to pay, how long until new content makes what you paid for obsolete? It will happen, its just a matter of time. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME on this game. The flaws outweigh any good the game has. The game has many systems and surprisingly in-depth, however to scratch past the service is nigh on impossible for free to play players as getting some of the resources required will take you longer than what realistically is realistic. Blizzard dropped the ball with this one and went in on the greed. You have lost a customer and I will not be logging into any of your games anytime soon. This will be a lesson they probably wont learn from. Enjoy the easy millions in the beginning, but I hope most abandon this within the opening months and leave this dirtpile where it belongs, in Hell. FOR SHAME TO THIS COMPANY!
