One of the greatest RPGs of all time, with a couple of little bonuses along the way exclusive to the DS port. Its arguably the best version, and best way to play the game overall. Beautiful, just beautiful. Chef's kiss.

Probably my most played game of all time. It has its issues, but it remains a solid rpg, with great writing, a rich world and a plethora of options both in game, and in mods to enrich your experience. It has dated quite a lot over the years, but it still has a special place in my heart.

A near perfect remaster of the original. It's rare that a remaster adds elements that change a game as much as TZA did, and doesn't wind up damaging the gameplay, but TZA does. While the changes originally come from the Japanese exclusive Zodiac Job System, which released in Japan back in 2007, the revamp never made it's way oversees, meaning the system is brand new to fans of the original in the west. While the game allows players to relive the same story as the original, the new elements add for a degree of specialisation, and character diversity that was sorely lacking in the original release. Now there is a need to think about how you want your characters to grow, experiment with different equipment and "jobs" (think "class"), and approach party building in a way that plays into individual strengths, rather than just building a team of OP everymen, dumping all your top level gear on them and calling it a day. Graphically its a massive upgrade from the PS2, little surprise, but it allows the world (which tbf had been impressive by PS2 standards) to really pop.

A very good narrative, held back by a few technical teething issues. Graphics popping in and out can be jarring, but if you look past it, this game is a beautiful window into a non-fantastical medieval Bohemia, with a lot of lovingly rendered, authentic world design and writing. It's clear that a lot of effort was put in on the part of the development team to get this right and it shows in the finished product.

A good game once you get past the glitches and issues, but there are just so many of them. There's a good game in here, maybe a great game even, but it's still to come. On decent hardware, you will at least have a fun experience in a rich and expansive world, sans a few issues here and there. On low end specs it ranges from unstable to unplayable.

A fun, if lazy game. I've had a lot of fun playing this game, and I'd definitely consider it worth buying IF you are a fan of the series, but it's hard not to see the negatives. The confusing design really feels like a downgrade from even Shield and Sword which itself wasn't exactly the most stunning game on Switch. That said, going into this everyone knew what the game looked like, so it's not as though we were misled about the design, but still, they could have done a lot more. In terms of things like in battle animations, not much has changed between SwSh, and this. Animations are the same as ever, for better or worse. It would be nice to see some effort put into these, to give different moves, abilities or reactions from different Pokémon a more unique appearance, although it's not as though I went into this expecting such. If nothing else, the game met my relatively low expectations. The game has more than enough charm for me to enjoy it, but lacks anything that really defines the game among a series that has became increasingly (and disappointingly) known for its lacklustre releases. They're still fun, but it's hard to see that they could be so much more.

Normally I would rank this as a 9, but given the frankly embarrassing amount of review bombing going on, I'm upping this one to a ten. Infinite is a solid entry into the Halo saga, bringing the series classic gameplay into the open world, which comes off perfectly. Halo has always had levels which have demonstrated the potential the series had for such design (Arriving on Halo, Silent Cartographer, Delta Halo, Quarantine Zone and The Ark come to mind) so it's no surprise that this is the case. The only surprise really is how well 343 executed this. In terms of graphics, the game is definitely improved from where it was when displayed. The return to a more classic Halo art style is much appreciated, particularly in minor details around the ring, which draw clear inspiration from the original games. Is it the most beautiful game I've ever played? No. But I don't play games to pretend I'm watching a movie, so it's all good.

I'm giving this a 10 based on my own views and in response to some of the ridiculous reviews I've read below. First off, I've read a lot of nonsense whining that "the game is too short", or it has "bad writing"... Yada yada, excuse excuse. To se the record straight, this game was advertised as a 20-30 hour narrative experience with a concise narrative. In terms of scope anyone expecting anything else was pretty stupid. In terms of what Obsidian ACTUALLY promised (and not this thing some people expect) vs what they actually delivered, Obsidian delivered on all cylinders. This game hearkens back to the classics, like KotOR 2 or FNV in a way that plays to the strengths and bolsters the legacy of this studio. This is a pure RPG experience. It's just a shame the genre has of late been hijacked by low-RPGs that obsess over overly complex crafting systems, building systems and needlessly expansive (and often empty) open world's. For those of you who are sick of these generic titles, the Outer World's offers something that's so feels fresh despite many of its core elements been so old. It's a welcome return to classics that have been left behind in this age of all inclusive gaming, where every title must by some 100+ hour epic that constantly tries to one up the competition with pointless "innovation" upon pointless "innovation". To summarize, no. The outer worlds is not Fallout 4. The Outer Worlds is not Mass Effect Andromeda. The Outer Worlds is the best of classic RPGs, that feels like it was ripped straight out of the genres golden ages and dropped right on your lap. If anything, this title should be a lesson to other devs. Sometimes less is more. Not every title HAS to reinvent the wheel. This game feels like it was made by people who love what they do. It feels like it was made by people making a game that they themselves would like to play. It has a heart, a soul. It even has a sense of humour. It is exactly what it was intended to be. If you don't like it, I'm truly sorry to say, this one's on you.
