For every step in the right direction, Remnant takes two steps backward. This game does a few things right but overall I have a mixed opinion of it. While Remnant: From the Ashes can be fun at times, it also feels very clunky control and combat-wise, and it feels super unoriginal. It kinda looks like an uninspired mix between Dark Souls, Bloodborne, and Fallout 4. Graphically it looks bad and the character customization is also extremely poor for a 2019 game. Not that it matters anyway, since almost instantly, your character is covered in armor and you don't ever see his facial features again. I can't really say much about the story because I and a buddy were only playing it for the gameplay and barely listened to any dialogue so I won't rate this any lower since it's not a review of the full product anyway. It did not sound interesting anyway. In conclusion: frustrating controls, enemies, and boss fights. Fun for a few hours if you're going co-op but the lack of controls and skills make it a dull experience overall. The maps look like low-effort Fallout and The Last of Us zones.

Bloodstained is a very entertaining homage to Castlevania with great replayability. Sometimes I feel like it throws some cheap enemies and stages (something you'd not want to see from a modern platformer) but overall it felt like a very rewarding challenge. There wasn't much story or dialog but I managed to grow fond of the characters. The visuals could look better but I love the bosses' designs and the soundtrack wasn't the best but pretty memorable nonetheless. Wouldn't call it a must-play platformer but it's definitely a good investment. Especially if you plan on playing the sequels.

As much as I love the mad genius known as Kojima and as much as I want to love Death Stranding, I can't really go over a 7. And the score is this high mainly thanks to its creative and compelling story and original universe. The single biggest issue with this game just like Metal Gear Solid V is its length. I felt like MGS V stretched for too long ending up making me bored. The main appeal of "walking simulators" is that they deliver beautiful and unique SHORT experiences so that the player doesn't get fed up and gives up. it's a shame, because Death Stranding universe, plot, characters, and overall lore are brilliant. However, I can't deny that a lot of times its side and main-quests feel repetitive. I have no issue with "walking simulators" and I love works such as Journey and What Remains of Edith Finch but Death Stranding is too long for its own good. Make no mistake, the game is a visual trip and sometimes it is quite innovative and incredibly detailed but its major misstep is how repetitive it can get. Would I recommend this game still? Yes, it's definitely not a must-play and I'd even recommend you to stay away from it if you can't stand even short "walking simulators". But if you're looking for a unique and bizarre post-apocalyptic sci-fi/dark fantasy story you should give this a try if you believe you can endure its repetitive nature. There's also a plus if you enjoy interacting and helping other players, building and using other players' structures is really cool.

Probably the worst PS4 game I played so far. I already didn't like Saints Row 4 but this is miles worse. There's no character customization, no story (it's literally just side quests to unlock the boss battle), and everything is super repetitive even for a 3-hour long story. I played this co-op from start to finish and both me and my friend had no fun at all. No interesting characters (except Satan's daughter), an uninteresting map, and lots and lots of bugs.

Ever since playing Binding of Isaac: Rebirth back in 2016 I've been a huge fan of the roguelike genre and Hades is just another reminder of why I love these games so much. First off, Hades is exceptionally well written for a roguelike game. Generally, they lack in the story department and the gameplay makes up for it, but Hades manages to deliver both a beautiful story and amazing characters as well an almost flawless fast-paced combat. All the characters' dialogues and small interactions are priceless. This game is not only for those who love addictive and punishing roguelike games but is also a must-play for everyone who loves ancient Greece and its mythology since the story is so well-written and interesting. Also, for those who aren't skilled enough in the roguelike genre, the game includes a less punishing mode for those interested in the narrative. So it's accessible for the majority of gamers. To conclude. Hades is probably the second-best roguelike game I've ever played since Binding of Isaac: Rebirth. Go play it and replay it, you won't regret it.

VA-11 HALL-A, aka Valhalla, is a cyberpunk retro-styled bartender simulator. But don't think the main point is mixing drinks, the main focus is definitely the stories your clients tell you. If you know exactly what you're getting before buying this game you'll definitely not get disappointed. For one I knew it was mainly a Visual Novel and I'm not really a fan of Visual Novels. I either watch anime or play video games. A playable anime isn't just doesn't cut it for me, but Valhalla has a very chill atmosphere and engaging characters that even a person like me could appreciate it. Definitely worth checking if you're looking for an original Visual Novel with a bit of gameplay and choices to be made. The atmosphere is great and the stories your clients tell you are super entertaining. Even if you don't like the genre you should give it a chance just like I did.

This is easily one of the most addictive roguelikes I have played in a very long time. It's highly strategic and forces you to make very difficult and impactful sacrifices to save the world. You have many different mechs/pilots and most of them feel really rewarding to play and strategize with. Another thing I love about this Switch port is how you can fully control it with the touch screen. Quite versatile. The only negative point I can give to this game is that the lore could have been further explored. The story could have been more memorable. The gameplay totally makes up for the lack of narrative but it could always be better. Sometimes the RPG might also be against you but a good pilot should always be prepared for the worst and endure.

Can't believe I forgot to review this gem for so long. Nier: Automata is a landmark for action games. Its gameplay is fresh and unique, its characters are compelling and interesting, the graphics look stunning and so do all the character designs, the music is some of the best, and the most important part, its story is really well-written. it's also worth noting that it also mixes many elements and video-game types so it's not only an action beat-em-up. Nier: Automata delivers the full-package and even features great replayability. Truly one of the best action games around. Square Enix truly did a great job here.

As someone who already played BotW over a year ago and loved it, I was hyped to try this but still expected to be a bit disappointed since the game was also designed for mobile phones. But we're not here to talk about Zelda so let's jump into the actual review. I have a mix of positive and negative things to say about the game. Let's start with the positive stuff. The world and environment look beautiful. The combat is simple yet fluid and the elemental reactions are also pretty interesting. I like the dungeons and having multiple characters with distinct gameplay to choose from. It includes co-op which looks pretty enjoyable but I haven't tried yet. Now, onto the negative stuff. I know it's been mentioned plenty of times but it is obvious to anyone who has ever played Breath of the Wild for even one hour that this game is a clone of it. There are way too many things that work exactly like BotW to very specific levels. I'd be fine with using its features as inspiration but blatantly copying is not cool. While the combat is good it doesn't compare to the greats such as The Witcher, Dark Souls, Nier: Automata, etc. (Still above average though). The characters look super generic and I swear I've seen them all in cheap mass-produced fantasy anime. The lip-synch during dialogs is awful. The story isn't very interesting and the pacing is all over the place. Overall, Genshin Impact is a good-looking BotW clone but besides its glitter, it doesn't offer much new and feels like a cheap mix of BotW and generic-looking anime characters + bad mobile game p2w features. But not everything is bad, the game is functional despite suffering from low FPS every now and then and its world and dungeons are still fun to explore. Perhaps it is too soon to rate this game yet, it might still surprise me and I might improve the rating. Time will tell. As of now, I'll consider this game a decent effort at trying to emulate Nintendo's success but not quite there yet.

Firstly I really want to praise the 3DS effects of this game. There is so much depth in character portraits during dialogs and there is also a lot of depth in the game itself. The music and voice-acting weren't that amazing but the incredible visual effects make for it. Gameplay-wise this play like a gem. The combat animations are smooth, there are a few challenging enemies and bosses but overall the game is accessible for everyone. It doesn't require an absurd amount of skill but there are many cool puzzles involving all the powers you can acquire in the game and you also have to be smart during boss fights. Overall, Shantae and the Pirate's Curse offers a linear narrative with a lot of puns and good comedy, sexy pirates and gals, and a vibrant world with many secrets and collectibles to find. Must-play platformer.

Cuphead is one of the most delightful platformer games I've ever played. It's incredibly stylish and everything about its presentation is quite incredible. The voice-acting and the music were extremely fitting and really made this a great homage to last century's culture. The gameplay was very responsive and had enough powers to keep you inventing new fighting techniques based on the boss you're fighting. And of course, this one is made for players looking for a challenge. Definitely not a walk in the park but it does have an easy mode for those looking for a more relaxing run (although I never tried it so I can't comment how accessible it is). The story wasn't all that great, very straight-forward and simple to fit its 15 - 20 hours of gameplay until the final boss. Not really a negative point, but could be better since nothing really ties the bosses together. One issue I have with the gameplay is the way ground parries work. Having to jump to parry some of the obstacles made for a really frustrating time. Sure, they're optional but I'm a perfectionist and try to get the best possible score. And the last issue was the infuriating design of a few specific boss phases. Most bosses felt fair but there were a few instances where there was too much going on the screen. Overall, a very fun and challenging game. Definitely not impossible as a lot of people claim and it's just a matter of memorizing patterns (just like in most video-games, nothing new if you've been playing for a while) and timing your jumps, dodges, and parries. Personally, I found Celeste to be even harder and people cry a lot less about its difficulty. Just not an accessible game for newcomers at all.

This review will focus on the multiplayer only. This was my first multiplayer Battlefield experience and I can say it was positive. There were a lot of fun maps, vehicles, and classes to play but most of the time also a lot of bugs and unpolished aspects. Comparing to the CoD multiplayer, while it doesn't deliver the same fast-paced straight-forward gameplay, Battlefield 4 was a game that requires thinking and some strategy to actually beat the enemy team. And especially, playing for team objectives and not kills unlike most of CoD modes. There were a lot of good and huge maps but that also means that sometimes the game moved too slowly and you would find nobody in certain areas. The driving wasn't excellent but manageable and the weapon diversity was good for the type of game. Basically a fun time playing with buddies and strategizing with your team but also quite frustrating thanks to bugs and some terrible maps.

This is obviously a review filled with nostalgia. Bomberman was my favorite game when I was a kid and to this day I still find it a fantastic game and still play it. The thing is, I have played a bunch of different Bomberman games but none ever managed to emulate the same gameplay and good enemy AI. The AI is so freaking random you never know how they're going to kill you, themselves or both. The variety of modes and characters is quite impressive and allows the game to deliver a fun time for dozens of hours. After replaying it right now I still have as much fun as when I was younger and I still think it is a fantastic game to relieve some stress and just have a good time. The "campaign" mode is not the greatest but it gets the job done and can be quite challenging also worth playing. Not the greatest multiplayer game ever but definitely a great game to play at a party with family or friends like its title suggests.

I mean, to be fair this is a difficult game to review since it keeps getting updated, it's free and if you know what you're doing you might end up playing it for hundreds if not thousands of hours. Technically speaking, after all the updates it got and content to play I would say it is worth a 8/10 but this is a subjective review so I have to include my own experience which was not very positive. Warframe is an incredibly fast-paced game but at the same time, there are stealth and slow missions. It's not very consistent in that regard but it's not really a negative point. There are tons of frames, weapons, and skills to use but most require too much grind and wiki search to obtain. That's mainly the main issue I have with the game. Since I didn't interact much with the community I would have to search online for ways to get the items I was looking for since the game doesn't tell you how. Basically, Warframe is a free game with a solid gameplay but requires too much commitment, grinding, and game knowledge. Fun to play with friends tho.

Disclaimer: This was my first Witcher game and I played it a while ago and still do from time to time so my memory might not be the best regarding every detail of the game. The Witcher 3 is a fantastic medieval action game, even one of the best within its genre. Not only the main storyline is fantastic but at every corner, you'll find a new, exciting and fresh questline. If you're looking for an open-world game that will hook you for hundreds of hours thanks to its jaw-dropping world, lore, and creatures, you came to the right place. The characters have depth and human feelings, some monster hunting quests also come along with moral issues that will force you to make difficult decisions. What also makes this game so incredible is its protagonist. Geralt is one of the best video-game protagonists. He has it all. He suffered a lot to be the "man" he is, he fights discrimination and still helps humans despite it, he's sarcastic, charming, and fun to listen to and he's powerful to boot, but also takes a beating every-so-often despite his expertise. I've already talked for long enough about the story and characters. Now with the gameplay, graphics, and music. Visually, the world of The Witcher 3 looks gorgeous. Most of the characters and creatures look good and the medieval world and atmosphere are still some of the best. There are a few textures that didn't age that well and some visual bugs to be expected in such a vast world, but that will not be enough to ruin your immersion. Last but not least, the gameplay is one of the most refined you can fight in action-RPG games. Geralt is easy to control and the combat is never overcomplicated. With time and experience, you'll learn lots of small combat tricks and effective ways to fight every individual monster. Quite the rewarding experience. Now and then the combat has its faulty moments as well which can feel a bit annoying. Riding your horse can also be frustrating every now and then. Not a perfect game, but a very well-rounded open-world game and one of the most iconic and polished action games of its decade.

Omega Ruby stands as my current favorite Pokemon game. I never got to play the original Pokemon Ruby and this was the first game in the series I really enjoyed. The combat is fun but the story's fights and wild encounters are pretty easy to deal with. Although it feels too easy most of the time, the post-endgame content makes up for it and manages to deliver a few good fights. The story gets good midway but it's still miles away from other great RPG games. The characters were kinda meh. The Pokedex is pretty vast but you'll need the previous X or Y games to fully complete it (or have someone willing to trade some pokemon with you). The mirage island exclusive Pokemons are an annoying feature and not being able to skip repetitive dialog and animations makes this game very slow at times. Not one of the deepest or most mindblowing RPG games but still a very fun one with tons of creatures to capture and evolve and many interesting easy to use online features. SMT and Persona is still better overall though.

Visually it looks quite simple and the sound department isn't the most impressive around, but it truly shines regarding its gameplay. There were a few poorly-designed levels in my opinion but the excellent ones heavily outnumber the weak ones. Adernaline-packed levels where you need to hone your skills and reflexes. Devolver Digital once again delivers an absurdly fun and crazy game. Overall I'd say this was hands-down my most entertaining Battle Royal experience so far and even though it has a few bugs I totally recommend it. Especially since it's free on PS4 if you own a PS+ subscription. The matches are super short and even when you get to the finals and lose it's not much of a deal, just roll the dice again. If you're the kind of player who doesn't get offended with fan-service easily. And oh boy there is a lot of fan-service. The whole game kind of spins around fan-service and for me it is a deconstruction of the whole fan-service in Japanese fiction. The story is pretty dumb and you shouldn't go expecting anything deep. As long as you go expecting a lot of craziness and a non-sense plot and gameplay, you'll have a good time. This game has been around for over 20 years and despite all the constant praise it gets as one of the best games of all time and a masterpiece, I only played it this year. First things first, while I don't believe it is a masterpiece I still think it a great JRPG title and a must-play for fans of the genre. The story felt mind-blowing at times and had an interesting villain with a great design but at times also felt too sentimental and far-fetched. Overall still great though. The open-ending could have been better but it was a good conclusion but left a few questions unanswered. The characters are quite likable and interesting and the main party feels very diverse. Sometimes I felt like the characters could have been explored more though side-quests and dialogue but they still had solid personalities. I also enjoyed that some of the characters were pretty comical. The turn-based combat was also enjoyable and it still felt flesh although a bunch of enemy designs and skills felt really random and out of place. That's one of my main complaints and what holds the score down the most. The bottom line is: if you're a JRPG fan you should definitely play this one at least once. The story has a solid length and there are tons of side quests and stuff to do. The experience and the characters will stick with you although the writing could have been better in some occasions and the enemy designs and skills could have been more serious.

And so I finally play the first Persona game and I got to say it was quite surprising. I've heard a lot of terrible things about this game from the fans and I was quite pessimistic before playing it but after I actually finished it, I can say it was a positive experience. I don't really get why this gets so much hate from the fans of Persona. It was a very solid start to a great video game series. I will just sum it down to pros and cons since this game has a mix of flaws and also some great design choices. Pros: - Fantastic soundtrack. Just like the other Atlus games, it sports very upbeat music to contrast with its serious themes and it's quite fitting - A lot of combat options and a decent demon compendium to try out - 2 very different story routes basically making this a 2 games in 1 disc. Therefore, good replay value - Interesting twist close to the end of the main story route with smart writing - Good fusion system encouraging you to get all the Persona cards - Decent looking for a PS1 game - Long game. So if you're looking for a game to sink dozens of hours this might be it. Just prepare for some frustrating fights Cons: - Some of the dungeons felt like a shore and overstayed their welcome. Their design, in general, wasn't that great and most dungeons felt repetitive - The cast wasn't that great. Some characters didn't really get fleshed out and were just plain annoying throughout the game. Good thing you have multiple choices but once you pick one you have to stick with them until the end. And some of them are mandatory depending on the route - For the most part, the main route was pretty uninteresting and not on par with the other Persona games' writing, unfortunately. It gets good later, but it takes too long - The character icons could look better. Atlus definitely should have reworked this point. Although the game looks fine in general, the character faces look really dated compared to Persona 2 - Although the demon compendium was pretty decent, there were a lot of crappy demons with useless skill sets

Invizimals was a good game on the PSP and VITA but it just doesn't fit on the PS3. It loses all its magic. This is just an unoriginal cash-grab adventure/platformer game.

Not the greatest racing game around but still a decent title for the VITA. It might keep you hooked for a few hours but the mechanics aren't that great. Customization is cool though.

There's not much to say about this game. It's a simple shooter game with not much substance. I would never call this a classic but it's still interesting if you're into old PC shooters. Just don't go expecting much besides a burst of fun. The second game is better.

Catherine: Full Body is probably Atlus' greatest achievements so far in regards to narrative. Not only that but it flawlessly incorporates the gameplay with the plot just like the Persona series managed to achieve. And for me, the gameplay never grew old and kept challenging me even further and forcing me to adapt to new strategies. This game offers a mature and serious story with some comical relief aimed at older players. It's quite thought-provoking and even inspiring. It is also a full-package that includes tons of challenging content, an interesting story, and cool characters. The game also looks and sounds great (as expected from an Atlus game). Probably the greatest puzzle-focused game I have ever played and one of my favorite narratives up there with the greats such as Silent Hill 2 and the Metal Gear Solid series. PS: It is also canon for me that this game belongs to the SMT universe.

To be fair this is a pretty enjoyable game and well-executed to boot. I don't like Battle Royale games so it didn't really hook me but if you enjoy the genre you should give this one a try for sure. It has a decent variety of characters and skills (the game is also update and adds more) and the weapons are also satisfying to use. At the end of the day, it's just another Battle Royale, but a good one at that.

This game is so clunky it's funny. The textures look like ****. The driving is super buggy. There is not a lot of customization nor weapon variety. It's simply a cash grab capitalizing in the Battle Royale popularity that doesn't really do anything new or interesting. It can be fun with a couple of friends but still super frustrating due to terrible execution and bugs.

A friend forced me to sit through this with him. Normally games like this guarantee a laugh or two but playing this was pure torture. He promised me a "funny GTA" but it was nothing like that. It was just pure boredom with too easy and shallow gameplay, boring and non-sensical story (in a bad way). Roaming through a big map with super sleep and flying, in theory, sounds cool but it was executed terribly and just reminds me of a bad version of something like inFamous... Waste of time and I'm glad I wasn't the one paying for it.

Persona Q is honestly an interesting mix. It blends the universe of Persona with the gameplay of Etrian Journey and combat of SMT together. Overall it's a game with adorable visuals, a decent story, and addictive gameplay. Does it work? Yes. Is it any better at what it does than the aforementioned games? No. But that doesn't really matter. While Persona Q doesn't excel at anything comparing to other Atlus games, it manages to create an interesting journey with the legacy of 3 different series.

While MHGU can be quite challenging at times and offer a vast cast of monsters to face-off against, some of the monsters you include are pretty pathetic. Literally being just a rescaled version of small fry. This makes the early game really painful to play through. Another thing I don't like in this game is how it constantly makes you travel between village to accept missions, leading to a load screen to accept a reward or a new quest. This gets pretty annoying and repetitive at times. Also, it just has way too much stuff to track while out of a quest. You have tons of cats which individually need to be trained and equipped, and some activities that can be performed by them as well. But undertaking quests as a palico is super fun and satisfying too. Some quests and micro-management might get boring and repetitive at times but it's still a pretty good Monster Hunter game with a lot of combat options to explore and probably the biggest amount of different monsters in the series so far. The graphics look pretty outdated since this was originally a 3DS game but that didn't bother me.

MH4U is a game that takes you for a spin. You're never on command, you are the Monster's ****. Jokes aside, this game is awesome and while pretty easy to play it is also quite deep and some quests and classes require some thinking and strategizing. This is an excellent package and great value for its price. Action-packed fun and challenging game for the go. It's not a game for everyone though as it has some pretty boring collecting and small fry hunting quests. Not the best looking game on the system but definitely a must-buy for those looking for some action on their 3DS.

EyePet: Move Edition doesn't really offer a very worthwhile experience but it's a game that tried to do something new and was a good family-oriented experience. It's simple, it's charming, it's sweet. All you could look for in a game for the kids. Some of the features were a bit frustrating but that was expected from a motion game.

God of War: Ascension did not have an easy task to fulfill. God of War III was a fantastic game thanks to its mythological plot and hack-and-slash action-packed gameplay with tons of Gods to kill but Ascension did not fully deliver what was expected of it. GoW: Ascension did some decent efforts to add more depth to the straight-forward gameplay from GoW: III and to some extent, it succeeded but story-wise it wasn't as great. The multiplayer was fun but I feel like it tried to take the series in an unnecessary direction. You could see the story suffered from it since it was so short.

The Last of Us is a fantastic game and one of the most compelling story-wise. It also proves that the zombie genre can actually surprise you with such an incredible experience. It might not be a true "zombie" game but it's still a variant. And a truly original and believable one at that. A phenomenon like this could actually happen in the future. But TLoU doesn't stop there, it mixes flawless stealth and survival gameplay with beautiful timeless graphics. The soundtrack and voice acting are also great. In general, The Last of Us is a fantastic game all around and one of my all-time favorite third-person shooter and survival games. The ending could have been more conclusive but still works great that way. It's also worth noting that this game also offers one of the best and most tense multiplayer PvP experience.

From time to time I mention that I'm not the greatest fan of the zombie survival genre. It often becomes very stale gameplay-wise and the stories are generally quite bad. It is also true that remarkable games like The Last of Us and TellTales' The Walking Dead also exist as a saving grace in this crappy genre and I would say Dying Light also offered a worthwhile experience. Dying Light mixes excellent exploration thanks to its parkour mechanics and decent and straight-forward combat. It's fun and addictive when played with friends. Unfortunately, the story pulls it back. Just like most works in the zombies' genre it **** and the final mission/ending almost ruined the game. It's no perfect game by any means but within the genre, it is quite good and very fun to play if you ignore its cliché plot. The DLC is cool but gets old fast though.

The Walking Dead is a genre-defining title for both point-and-click adventures and zombie games. I never thought I'd be so compelled by an "actionless" game but TWD was a game-changer. It's also worth noting it is even better than the TV series and probably one of the best zombie-related works of all time. Its cartoonish graphics also allow it to age pretty well but overall doesn't fit the best in the game's desperate reality and that's my only complaint. Truly a gem in the overworked and saturated zombie games market.

The matter of fact is, I like Uncharted but it is undeniable that the game didn't age that well overall. Looking at every title in the large Uncharted series, this one is the weakest right now. It served to establish the franchise and prove that Naughty Dog could do great adventure games on the PS3 and it probably was a massive hit at the time but it's 2020 and I finally played it to meed Uncharted's roots and it was an okay game I guess. The characters were super charismatic even in this first game but the story was only decent and pretty short compared to the rest of the series. In a game with so much emphasis on the environment and graphics, it does not look that good today. The gameplay is decent and straight-forward with okay-ish puzzles. I still recommend this one to fans of Uncharted. Knowing the roots of the series is a good thing, but that's all Uncharted is worth in my opinion.
